Benefits of the Son of God no. 22

Keeps us from blaspheming God

Saturday November 27, 2004

Rev. Brian Kocourek

The twenty Second promise of God to us concerning His Son is that the Revelation of One God and His Son make it impossible for you to blaspheme God.

John 10: 36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?

Notice that the religious in His day thought that Jesus was guilty of blasphemy because he said he was the son of God. What is blasphemy any way, and why did they charge Jesus with it? That is what we will be studying tonight.

The word blaspheme means to 1. To speak of (God or a sacred entity) in an irreverent, impious manner. and comes from two Greek words the first being blapto meaning to injure or to do harm, and the second word pheme meaning fame, or the words by which you describe someone or something. Thus placed together it is to do injury or harm to one by words.

Now, we know that Jesus said “out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh, and the Scriptures also teach, “as a man thinketh in his heart so is he.” Therefore, before we continue with this study, I want you to be assured of one thing, “If you are seed of God you could never blaspheme the spirit of God, or the things of God. It is impossible for you to blaspheme the Holy Spirit if you are seed of God.

Brother Branham said in the sermon, Why cry speak 63-0714M P:54 A man picked up that picture of The Angel of The Lord the other day, a Baptist minister, and laughed at it. See? That's blasphemy. See? There's no forgiveness for that. That’s what Jesus said. It's blasphemy when you see it doing the very works that Christ did, and He said when they seen that works in Christ. He was the Sacrifice, and they called Him Beelzebub, a devil, 'cause he was doing it. And now He said, "I forgive you for that, but when the Holy Ghost comes to do the same thing, you speak a word against It, it'll never be forgiven you in this world or the world to come." See? Just one word's all you have to say against It. See? Because if that Life... If you've been ordained to Eternal Life, then that Life would burst forth when you seen It. You'd recognize, just like the little woman at the well and the different ones; but if it's not there, it can't come to Life, for there's nothing there to come to Life with.

So you see to blaspheme is to cause injury or harm by means of your words. And brother Branham ties this into the crucifixion of the word afresh with Hebrews 6.

Questions and answers COD 64-0830M P:162 There's nobody can say a word against them fine religious people; they're just as nice as they can be. Church of God, Nazarene, Free Methodist, those people are real, but when it comes down to the works of the Spirit, they say, "Oh, oh, that's the devil." And what'd they do there? Blaspheme the Holy Ghost. When they do that...Now, what is blasphemy? There's no forgiveness. Is that right? He that once enlightened, made partakers, and tasted of the heavenly gifts (-tasted of God's sanctification: cleaned up from cigarettes, and filthy women, and all kinds of life like that)--and tasted of the heavenly things (to see that they'll walk up to that borderline like those spies did that eat part of the grapes... See? But what do they have to do? They had to break up their denomination to come over into this. See? Tasted of the heavenly gifts; seeing that they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and count the Blood of the covenant wherewith they were sanctified an unholy thing.

Indictment the 63-0707M P:140 And again I say: "Here," the churches, "They," the teachers, "Crucify," by blaspheming, "Him," the Word. God be merciful. Let me say that again; it might been mixed up on the tape. "Here," the churches, "They," the clergy, "Crucify," by blasphemy, "Him," the Word. No wonder it's again, Mid rendering rocks and darkening skies My Saviour bowed His head and died, But the opening veil revealed the way To heaven's joys and endless day. I say it on this tape and for this audience; I say this under the inspiration of the Holy Ghost, "Who's on the Lord's side? Let him come under this Word." God will surely bring this wicked, Christ-denying, Christ-rejecting generation into judgment for blasphemy, the crucifixion of His identified Word. You're coming to the judgment. I indict it. "Who's on the Lord's side?" said Moses, "Let him come unto me," when the Pillar of Fire hanging there as an evidence. Who's on the Lord's side? Let him take up the Word, deny his creed, and follow Jesus Christ daily. And I'll meet you in the morning.

Indictment the 63-0707M P:62 They call for a revival everywhere. How you going to have a revival when the Word Itself can't work through the people? I'd like for somebody to answer that for me. How can it do, when you deny the very revival itself? Well did the prophet speak of them, "forms of godliness." Their own forms back there denied the Word of Life. Their own forms today deny the thing that can bring them a revival. Their creeds and forms... Yes, sir. They take the denomination and their creeds instead of the--the Word, and that crucifies His Word and makes His Word of no effect to the people. When they see the Word of God so vividly in--It just place Itself, that God made the promise He would do this, and here He is doing it, and they make fun of It and get away from It, it's blasphemy. And they try to crucify the Word Itself. Why do they crucify It? They can't crucify the Word no more than they could crucify God. They could crucify the body that held God, the Son of God; they could crucify that, but they can't crucify God. He had to be that time, on account of being the Sacrifice to bring in many sons that's predestinated to Eternal Life. They had to do it then, but they can't do it now. They can't do it, for the Word Itself will live on. But they...

I CORINTHIANS 2:7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden [wisdom], which God ordained before the world unto our glory: 8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

So we see then the result is not only rejection, but as a result crucifixion.

JEREMIAH 17:7 Blessed [is] the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. 8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and [that] spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit. 9 The heart [is] deceitful above all [things], and desperately wicked: who can know it? 10 I the LORD search the heart, [I] try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, [and] according to the fruit of his doings.

Therefore we see that man is above all things a fallen creation, and unless He was ordained from the beginning to be filled with God-Life, he will go the other way into wickedness and hatred for God.

God knew that man would despise and reject His Only Begotten Son. And therefore we must ask ourselves why? Long before He came to earth to manifest the Father to us, it was prophesied that God’s Only Begotten Son would be despised and rejected. You would think that mankind would love and esteem their creator so much that they would long to see and talk to the Lord of Glory, and yet the opposite is true. The churches are full of people today who talk about how they want to meet Him and how they will one day openly and lovingly greet Him, and yet their words are shallow and filled with deception in their own hearts.

He came with Grace abounding from His lips, and mercy for the needy, and poor, and his actions were ones, which helped the lame and halt, and withered. You would think one who comes with healing in His wings would be openly accepted and respected, but the opposite is true. They despised Him and Rejected Him. The fact is, that it was not the Son of God they despised but the Holy One Himself. The King of Glory. We do not hear of rejection in the lad Jesus. As a young man, we do not read of resentment and despite, nor do we hear of the lad Jesus being rejected. Nowhere in Scripture is any evide3nce given that the lad Jesus was despised and rejected of men. Then when did the rejection begin? That is the answer we will begin to look into today.

I believe the despising and rejection came when God began to manifest Himself in His Son after He entered Him at the river Jordan. This despite and rejecting attitude toward Jesus was not manifested until the Word entered into Him, and thus became manifested in Him.

JOHN 1:1 ¶ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 ¶ And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not…. 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

JOHN 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Notice that the condemnation is that they reject the light when it comes. Not so much the man, but the Light that the man carries in His bosom. And then they turn their anger toward the man, and run his persona into the ground. Therefore, we can see by the example of Jesus that when the Word enters into the ordained vessel, man will begin to despise that vessel.

PSALMS 14:1 ¶ The fool hath said in his heart, [There is] no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, [there is] none that doeth good. 2 The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, [and] seek God. 3 They are all gone aside, they are [all] together become filthy: [there is] none that doeth good, no, not one. 4 ¶ Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people [as] they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD.

ROMANS 8:7 Because the carnal mind [is] enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

He was not despised for His actions. He was despised for what he said. The doctrine that His Father Gave Him to speak.

JOHN 10:24 Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly. (Look, they really did not want to know, for had they really wanted to know, Jesus would not have answered them the way he did.) 25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not (He said, Look, I’ve already told you but you are not believers, so how can you believe me when I tell you the Truth. Then notice, he says, I don’t expect you to believe me based on my doctrine, but God has stood behind my doctrine and has vindicated me.) the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me. 26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any [man] pluck them out of my hand. 29My Father, which gave [them] me, is greater than all; and no [man] is able to pluck [them] out of my Father's hand. 30 I and [my] Father are one. 31Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him. 32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me? 33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God. (Now, look, it all boils down to their preconceived theology. These people were Oneness, and did not understand what Jesus was telling them. When He said, I and my Father are One they, like the Oneness today, misunderstood what he was saying. And they wanted to kill him for it. Oh, today they might not physically kill, but in words and deeds they will try to destroy your influence. And they would kill today if the laws did not prevent them from doing so. Now, notice how they did not understand what Jesus meant when he said “I and my Father are One”.

Jesus goes on to explain that to them in verse 34.) 34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? 35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; 36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God? (Notice, He never claimed to be God , but the Son of God. But because they were so indoctrinated into this Oneness teaching they could not understand what He was telling them.) 37 If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. 38 But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father [is] in me, and I in him. (Notice he tells them, Look, I and My Father are One because the Father is in Me. That is how I can do these works. Because My Father is dwelling in me. That is what makes us One. As the Father worketh, so the Son worketh Hitherto.)39 ¶ Therefore they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand, 40 And went away again beyond Jordan into the place where John at first baptized; and there he abode.

ANOINTED ONES PP. 195 Notice! Come up to the borderline and quit.

ANOINTED ONES PP. 198 Going to their home, and when they come up to the place to cross over, they doubted the Word!........What happened? They perished in the wilderness. They stayed right there and organized themselves, and died, every one of them,..

ANOINTED ONES PP. 214 "Where the carcass is there will the eagles be gathered...... Where the fresh meat is, the Word of the Season, there the eagles will gather." But after it's rottened then the vultures will swarm to it. See? See what I mean? When a kill 's made here comes the eagles, but after it lays there and rotten, then here come the vultures. The eagles won't have nothing to do with it. Jesus said, "Where the carcass is, where the manna fell, the night the manna falls fresh, there the eagles will gather for it." That's the manna for the day. See?

ANOINTED ONES PP. 215 Notice! But after it gets rotten, maggots get in it, then here comes the vultures. They can't smell it till it gets rotten.

ANOINTED ONES PP. 219 Said,” I AM sent me." I AM, not I was, or will be, I AM, present tense, the Word now. Not the Word that was or Word that will come, the Word that's now.

ANOINTED ONES PP. 233 "For it is impossible for those which were once enlightened and didn't move on with the Word as it come to pass... They're dead, gone. Now, what scripture is he quoting? ___.

C.O.D. PG 658 "If you have been enlightened and then turn away from your enlightenment, it is impossible for that person to ever regain his place again. See? "

C.O.D. PG. 510 There remaineth no more sacrifice for sin, because he took the very blood that sanctified him and brought him this far, to the knowledge of the truth, and counted it under his feet, after God has led him step by step up here to the Holy Ghost.

HEBREWS CHAPTER 5/6, PG. 193 Friends, let us go on to perfection. We're without excuse today. We have no excuse at all. The very God of Heaven has Appeared in these last day and is doing the very same things that He did then, when He was here before, when he was on earth. He's proved...The things that He done when He was here on earth, manifest in the flesh, and the very same things are taking place today, right here among us. Here's the Word to vindicate it. Here's the thing to say it's right, to make it right. Here's the Spirit of God to do the same thing, so we're without excuse.

HEBREWS CHAPTER 7, PG. 342 If you deliberately see the Holy Spirit do the things that it did right here this morning, and see that Christ is risen from the dead (and he's living in His church and Among His people, and you willfully turn it down, it's impossible for you to ever come to God, 'cause you've blasphemed the Holy ghost.

Q & A ON THE HOLY GHOST PG. 46 The Tabernacle, right now, stands at Kadesh-Barnea.....

ANOINTED ONES PG. 54 "For it is impossible for those which were once enlightened and didn't move on with the Word as it come to pass...They're dead, gone."

DOING GOD A SERVICE PP. 145 They're trying to eat old manna that fell back fifty years ago, the Pentecostal church. The holiness church is trying to-over two hundred years ago, the Lutherans about three hundred or more years ago, many hundreds of years ago. They're trying to eat old manna. Oh, brother, that stuff is stagnated. It's contaminated. It's got wiggle tails in it, maggots. It'll kill you to eat it.

COUNTDOWN PP. 37-38 But God in the spiritual achievement is going forward, not going backward. He's going forward, looking into the Word and believing the promises for the things that never has come yet, for the spiritual revelations to manifest the spiritual things that God has promised. He says them come to pass. Just as the scientist in his laboratory are working on different things to help man take in creation; the spiritual man is looking forward to something that God promised that has never yet been created. The natural man looks backward. The spiritual man looks forward. That's the way that they got that in the church. The natural church member looks back to what Finney, Sankey, know, Calvin...That was all right. But that was their day. We're looking forward for something else. A promise that's greater and higher and what God has promised. Science goes back to pick it up. We go forward in the Word of the Lord to find what God has achieved.

ANOINTED ONES PP. 234 Teaching a historical God, (See)? Just like they're trying to live in the past. Like, "well, Wesley said so-and-so; so-and-so said so-and-so." You're refusing the promised Word of the day, the manna that's clearly identified of the day. They try to put their old Lutheran, Baptist, Pentecostal wines in our new bottles. It won't work. And our new wine in their old bottles won't work. If they try to put this new wine in the denomination, their folly is made manifest. They can't do it; it blows her up.

IDENTIFIED CHRIST OF ALL AGES 64-0401 Man is always praising God for what He done, always looking forward for what He will do, and ignoring what He is doing.

THE WORLD FALLING APART 63-0412 And that's the way we do--Martin Luther, John Wesley, other men. We're always looking back, see. See those things? And you make a tradition of their life--garnish the tombs of them. And their message is for another day. By the time you wake up, why that day's done lived by, and we're in another day. The whole systems worked that way since the beginning. Manmade systems, certainly.
