Christ Revealed in His Own Word #34
Our six Senses
Sunday
Morning, August 4, 1996
Brian Kocourek, Pastor Grace Fellowship
[Jude
1: 24] Unto Him who is able to keep you from falling... Prayer. . .
For the past few
weeks we have been speaking on FOCUS.
Our Focus in Christ to be more exact.
In [Hebrews 9:28] we read, “And unto
them who look for Him shall He appear the second time...” And so we see that our focus is all
important to us in this end-time hour where the trap has been laid to ensnare
us into a wrong focus. When Satan gets our focus off of the Appearing of Christ, he uses the economy to do so. In our mini series on the neurotic condition
of man in this last hour we found the last stage of this Spiritual neurosis is
a total conversion. And this is when
the people have made a full scale move from worshipping God in Spirit and Truth
( which is His word) to worshipping Satan through material possessions. God said,
“If we love the world and the things of the world, the love of God is
not even in us.” [1 John 2: 15-20] (read) I want you to notice in this scripture that
they start out by loving the world but eventually depart from Fellowship in the
Word. And then the full conversion has
taken place which is a falling away from the Truth.
This morning I
want to continue with our focus in this great message and we’ll pick up this
morning at:
[Christ Revealed in His Own Word], ( pp. 23)
“And last Sunday when we was going into those cycles about
how that the five senses on the outer realm... That's the inlet, five senses to
the body. There's only one way you can
get into the body, that's by those five senses: See, taste, feel, smell,
and hear; there's no other way to
contact the--the body. (24) On the inside of that man is a man called
spirit. And he has five senses: Think and thought, and love, and conscience,
and so forth. All right. (25) Now, you can't think with your
body; you think with your mind. And in there is where too many of
Christians only stop. And they can, just like the corn in the field and the
weed in the field, they can be anointed with the same Holy Spirit that the real
believer's anointed with. But down on the inside of that next realm, the third
realm, is the soul; and that's
predestinated by God. There's where the real seed-germ lays, is in there. (26) And remember, if I'd take a cocklebur and
cut it open, graft into it the heart of a wheat and put it there, bury it, it
would bring forth a wheat out of the cocklebur, no matter what the outside is,
what the emotions.
I hope and trust
while we are examining these great thoughts here that we shall come to know our
own condition before God in a greater way so that we can deal with our own
humanity better.
In order to do
this we will have to look very closely at what brother Branham is telling us
here and if we receive his teaching, then we shall understand the workings of
God in the Human life and also how Satan uses our human make-up to try and
bring us under his influence.
Now first of all
we find in PP 23 brother Branham saying, There's only one way you can get into the body, that's by those
five senses: See, taste, feel,
smell, and hear; there's no other way to
contact the body. Now why are we examining this thought? Because in
order to understand our humanity and the sin question we must understand our
own make-up. Remember, this sermon Brother Branham preached is called “Christ Revealed in His Own Word.” And
so if we are to fully understand how Christ is revealed in His Own Word, then
we must know how this understanding comes to us and how it does not come to us.
And so we hear brother Branham say, There's only one way you can get into the
body, that's by those five senses: See,
taste, feel, smell, and hear; there's no
other way to contact the body. And we want to know how this will
affect the revealing of Christ in His
Own Word to us.
Now, in
considering these things Brother Branham said, we must consider how Satan or a
demonic spirit can enter our bodies, for according to what we just read it must
come through one or all of these five senses. But then, what about God’s
Spirit? What about Eternal Life. Is it subject to these 5 senses?

God gave those
senses, but they're given to you as a gift. And it depends on how you, what you yield these senses to, will be the way
that your life is controlled: the
way you yield those five senses, you're... What you see, what you hear,
what you taste, smell, or feel, whatever
those senses are yielded to, they will dominate you. And we are grateful to God that we have the
five senses, but by no means was these five
senses given to you to guide you.
They were given to you for earthly contact. But there was given you the sixth sense, and that sixth sense is--belongs only to the Christian. And you cannot have this sixth sense until
you become a Christian, is the only way that you can ever have any more
than the five natural senses for the natural person. The sixth sense is better known, to the Christian, as faith. It's the one that governs and guides you,
and it is superior to all the other
senses. It's a superior to all of the senses, the other five senses.

right. Now, you see what faith is. It's something... Now look friends; I know
that all of you are, at least know this: This
body is controlled by five senses. Is that right? All right, its got five
senses is everything that controls this human body. Now, listen real close, and
give me your attention now. The sense, five senses, is this right? See, taste,
feel, smell, hear, is that right? Them five senses control the entire human
body. Is that true? See, taste, feel, smell, and hear. Now, there's none of them that declare faith. Faith is the sixth
sense, known to some people as you want to as mental telepathy or--or whatever
you want or wish to call it, many of the call it names, but to me its faith. And that is in and above all five senses of
the human body. You see Now, faith is a direct evidence of things not
seen, felt, taste, smelled, or heard. Now, look here. I'm going to close my
eyes now. Watch.
[ Hebrews 11:1] Faith is the
Evidence it is not just some
intellectual conception or mental exercise.
[ Romans 10: 17] Faith cometh by hearing
[ Galatians 3: 2] Did you receive the Spirit
by works or simply by hearing
Now we must
reconcile these Scriptural Truths with this statement of Brother Branham’s that
Faith doesn’t come by hearing.
[Matt
13: 10-17] Hear but don’t hear
The difference
between having faith and not having it is the difference between being a Son of
God and acting like a Son of God than just acting like an animal. All animals are governed by their five
senses, but only a Christian is above that. Now the human mortal has five other
senses that distinguish them from mere animal, and those are the inner senses
of Conscience and Affection and reasoning and thought and Emotion or love. But
if anger is an emotion and fear is an emotion, then there are animals that
possess these as well. Then what about thought? Monkeys and dolphins show
patterns of being capable of having thoughts as well. So it is not the inner
senses or the outer senses that distinguish us from brute beast, but the Soul
which is governed by Faith.

Your eye is the
gate to your soul. You can look at
it; it almost governs the other senses.
You look at it before you taste it. You look at it before you smell it, and feel it, and so forth. It's usually
the eye is the gate to the soul.
·
Music, Strike a chord, our ears declare the notes to be real.
·
My shirt, what color is it? White! Our eyes declare it to be white.
Speak of someone in the audience and have every one look at that person, they
believe that persons presence because they see it, but we can not see God. We
can not receive Him by sight. No man has seen God and Lived.
·
Perfume, open it, our nose declares the smell to be real.
·
Salt or sugar taste, brother Branham used orange juice, grapefruit
juice, grape juice, lemon etc. blind folded.
·
Eye blind folded = pulpit feel, different from micro phone and
micro phone wire.

We're controlled by five senses,
and those five senses: see, taste, feel, smell, and hear is very fine until they interrupt the sense of faith.
Then when they come against faith... And how do you know which one's right? Because faith will always agree with the
Word. And then if your faith is
contrary to the Word, or you think it is, then you haven't got faith. You've got a make-belief. You've got a
boast in your senses of some scholarship that you've learned about, or
something. But when you get away from that and depend completely upon faith,
and faith can only be built upon the
Word of God: correct faith.
[ Hebrews 11:6] “Without Faith it is impossible to
please God,” then your faith is the only thing that can do you any
good.

You'd
say, "That shirt was white." What if I'd tell you it was red? Well,
you wouldn't believe it, because it's white. Your sense of sight says it's
white. Your eye says so. Well, now if
you believe, you here to be prayed for, whoever you are, if you believe tonight
that you're going to be healed, just as firmly as your sight says that shirt's
white, the work's done right now. Thank
you, Dr. Cobble. That's right. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence
of things you do not see, taste, feel, smell, or hear. It's another sense. It's in the other realm. It's nothing
natural.
[ 1 Cor 2: 9 - 3: 4] So then Faith is
not a carnal thing, but a Spiritual thing

The five senses
does not control the sixth sense, but the sixth sense controls the five senses.
The super sense controls the natural senses. And the--the five senses is see, taste, feel, smell, hear. And the super sense is something that'll
make you believe God's Word, for that's the only thing it'll speak about. And
it'll make you believe for things that you can't see, taste, feel, smell, or
hear, 'cause it'll take God's Word. And
it will deliver that Word to you, and make you walk contrary to any other thing
there is but God's Word. By faith, faith does it.

Now, I have another
sense, and that is of hearing. Strike
some music of something. [The pianist begins playing--Ed.] How many
believes there's music playing? Let's see you hand. Do you see it? How many
sees that music? Do you smell it, taste it, feel it? Well, how do you know it's
music? You're possessed... What if
someone didn't have the--the sense of hearing now in here? They wouldn't know
that music is playing; that sense is
dead to them. They couldn't hear it, because they can't hear. But you who
have a sense of hearing know it's playing, because you hear it. You can't see
it, you can't feel it, you can't smell it, you can't taste it, but you can hear
it. Now, faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things you
do not see, taste, feel, smell, or hear. But the sense of faith is just as
real as your sight is or any other of your senses. You see what I mean?
You believe it, you just... There's no one can make you doubt it, because you're possessed with that sense that
tells you it's so.

I want to read just
a little Scripture before I express that thought: [Hebrews 11:1] Now, faith is the substance of things hoped for; the evidence of
things not seen. Now, faith is the substance. Now, it isn't just
a makeup, or a thought, it's a real substance. It's something that's
just as real as any other sense of the body. There's these five senses that
control this body, and there's two senses control the inward man. And that's faith
and unbelief for the inward man, see, taste, feel, smell, and hear for the
outward man.

For
instance, the music would go to playing. Could you see it? I thought seeing was
believing. Seeing is not believing. All right, could you feel it? Could you
taste it? Could you smell it? How do you know it was playing? [Audience
answers, "You hear it."--Ed.] That's correct. Then seeing is not
believing. Now, if this young man,
standing there now; I see him and I know he's there by the sense of sight. I
can't feel him, no other way I can contact him. Now, I know he's there, because
the sense of feeling says he's there. And that's a reality. Now, everyone that has those same senses
would know the same thing. Thank you, young brother. Now, what is faith? Faith is the substance of things hoped
for, the evidence of things you do not see, taste, feel, smell, or hear. But
it's just as real as what the sense of feeling or seeing is. You know what
I mean?
E-14 MINISTRY.EXPLAINED MINNEAPOLIS.MN 50-0711
Now, hope is one thing and faith is another. Faith is a positive sense. It's not a
guess work; you don't just imagine it. It's just as real as any other sense of
your body, just the same as sight is. Sight is real. Hearing is real. See,
taste, feel, smell, and hear, the five senses of the body that control the
body, they're real faculties to you if none of them's injured. And then, faith is just as real as any of the
other five senses, and more real, because it'll go in and above those five
senses. Now, the first and fundamental cause of Divine healing is because God said so in His Bible. That's the
only... That's the sure foundation, is the Word of God.

The outside is what
you see, taste, feel, smell, and hear, but
the inside of that is what you really are. Now, this out here, Satan just
tempts you and knocks you around every way here; but down here he can't do it
unless you let him do it. For in here you've got faith, and faith don't come
from the outer conscience, it reasons. But
in faith there's no reason. You've
got it from God, and you know it's there. I don't care how much it looks
wrong, you still know it's right; it's THUS SAITH THE LORD. See? And there's
nothing going to bother that. Nothing can bother that; it's moving right
straight on. Difficult means nothing to
it; wades right on through it, for It's the Word. And the Word's the Sword, and
the Word cuts. The Sword cuts Itself free from everything else. You see?
Takes the hand of faith to hold that Word. That faith's got to be...
What if you are
starving to death and I come to you and ask you what I could do to save your
life, you’d say if I could have but one loaf of bread it would save my life.
Then I don’t have the bread with me but I have a dollar. And you know that a
dollar will buy your bread down the street. When you receive that dollar you
know then that your bread is just a good as being in your hands. Now you may
have to walk down the street and if the bakery thrift is closed there is a
Kroger and a Thriftway and others store that sell bread. But you’ll go forth
rejoicing because you know that you have the purchase power for the bread, and
that is what faith is. Faith is something that you can show and prove that
you’ve got it.
Have some one
stand next to me, I know he’s here because I see him. Then have him stand
behind me, but hands on my shoulder, I don’t see him but I feel him, therefore
I know he’s here. And yet how do we know that Jesus Christ is here, another sense, Faith, and Faith
comes from what? Hearing? No! Hearing God’s Word. Yes!
The senses are
given to us as a gift and it all depends on how and what we yield those senses
to that will determine the way your life is controlled. Whatever your senses
are yielded to they will dominate you. The five senses are not meant to guide
you, Christ is the Guide. The sixth sense was given to govern and guide and it
is superior to all the other senses. This super sense controls the other five
senses, the natural senses. And it will make you believe God’s Word and that’s
the only thing it will speak about.
It’ll take the things that you can’t see, taste, feel smell or hear and
make you believe them above the other five senses, cause it’ll take God’s Word and it will deliver that Word to you
and make you walk contrary to any other thing but God’s Word.
·
Faith is the sixth sense and it is the Holy Spirit.
·
You can’t prove with your senses that there is a God, yet by those same
senses you can’t prove you have a mind either.
·
All the senses are fine until they come in conflict with the sixth
sense Faith. Then when they do you’ve got to bypass those other five senses.
·
Faith is a sense that will declare to you what the other senses
will not declare.
·
Faith is so sure that it is real that it is a substance, not just
an imagination.
Man was created
on the sixth day and he is under the number six. And has been given five senses
to contact his earthly home and a sixth sense to contract his heavenly home,
therefore a man who only has five senses is not complete. And only the believer
is given the sixth sense. Faith sets your destination, where you are headed
for.
·
When this sixth sense catches the Word it sends him into another dimension
that is more real than the one we are living in now, until he is just as good
as having it in his hand. He knows it is going to happen, because he has
already seen it coming to pass.
With all your
eyes on me now, I can tell you that I know brother Ron Harr is sitting in the
last pew. You don’t see him but by sight I tell you he is here. Now just
because you don’t see him doesn’t mean he is not here. Ron, tell the people you
are here. OK, now by sight you hear him. Now if I tell you that he is here and
you don’t see him yourself you might think that I’m being ridiculous, but it is
not ridiculous, because I know by sight he is here. But the same thing holds
for Christ in our midst this morning. I know he is here. Do I see, Him? No. Do
I feel Him? No do I taste Him? No Do I smell Him? No but by Faith I tell you He
is hear because He said He would lead us into the Millennium and we are not
there yet, so he is still leading. And He must be here to lead.
·
Faith then is an anchor. And nothing can ever move it but the Word
of God.
·
Faith is something that you can show and prove that you’ve got it,
it’s not just an imaginary mind that’s all worked up in a mental state. it’s
something that you have in your possession.
·
The five senses are to contact your earthly home, but not to
contact God. Not one of your five sense can contact God. Faith is the sense,
the sixth sense for that. How could sight contact God when no man has ever seen
Him and lived. He is Spirit so He can not be seen unless He somehow manifests Himself
through some means, but then what you see is not Him but a manifestation. The
Picture is not the Pillar of Fire but a photo of a reflection that struck the
lens.
·
You can not prove God by a scientific test, He is received by Faith.
These pictures on the wall don’t prove nothing unless you already want to
believe it. If you don’t want to believe these don’t prove nothing to you.
·
Each sense is based upon a concrete evidence, a positive fact,
sight, hearing, feeling, smell, or taste, yet Faith also must be based upon
some positive evidence, and that is
“Thus Saith the Lord” therefore with God you can not look at anything the
senses will tell you, but what Faith( the Sixth sense declares by the Word of
God) In other Words Faith looks to
God’s Word as being more real than what you can see taste feel smell or hear.
God is only known by one element and that is Faith.
