Inner sight

Brian Kocourek, Pastor Grace Fellowship

For the past few sermons we have taken a sort of mini series on the  three-fold being of Body-Spirit & Soul.  We showed how each of these realms has a sense or senses that dwell in that realm. The best Scriptures that I can think of that explain these three realms or different parts of our make-up are the following.  [1 Cor 2: 10-13] Notice the distinction between the spirit of man and the Spirit of God in the man. The Spirit in man knows the nature of man, but the Spirit of God in man knows the things of God.

[1 Thess 5:23-24] And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; (that means in your complete being) And I pray God that your whole Spirit and Soul and Body be preserved blameless unto the Parousia of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is He that Calleth you, Who also will do it.

A closer examination of the wording in this verse tells us that we indeed possess a three-fold being. A Body, a Spirit and a Soul.  And these three parts make up the Whole as also stated by the use of the word whole which is used twice  in this verse. Note, And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly” and also Paul says here, “I pray God that your whole Spirit and Soul and Body.  The word whole used here is a Greek word, holokleros which means to be complete in all it’s parts.

We also see in the Book of Daniel that the Spirit is placed in the midst of the body, which is in the middle part. [Daniel 7:15] “I Daniel was grieved in my Spirit in the midst of my body, and the visions of my head troubled me.”  Now if it is in the midst or  middle of the body, then there must be a part in on one side and another on the other side, as brother Branham described as being like three rings. The outer ring is the body, then the next ring is the Spirit and finally the inside of the inside is the Soul.

Now we have learned that  we are given these outer senses as a gift but we are to use this gift wisely. For these outer senses can have a very long lasting effect upon our entire being. [Super Sense PP 53]  “God gave those senses, but they're given to you as a gift. And it depends on how you, what you yield these senses to, will be the way that your life is controlled: the way you yield those five senses, you're... What you see, what you hear, what you taste, smell, or feel, whatever those senses are yielded to, they will dominate you.  And we are grateful to God that we have the five senses, but by no means was these five senses given to you to guide you. They were given to you for earthly contact. But there was given you the sixth sense, and that sixth sense is--belongs only to the Christian. And you cannot have this sixth sense until you become a Christian, is the only way that you can ever have any more than the five natural senses for the natural person. The sixth sense is better known, to the Christian, as faith. It's the one that governs and guides you, and it is superior to all the other senses. It's a superior to all of the senses, the other five senses.

Both God and Satan use the outer senses to affect the Inner man. The Greatest Battle ever fought is in the realm of the Spirit but it is for possession of the Soul. brother Branham said in the message Greatest Battle Ever Fought, that Satan’s objective is to disarm you. If he can get you to think that your weapon is not enough then you won’t use it. And your weapon is that sixth sense of Faith that only the believer possesses.  Satan is no different in his strategy than any other power. The USA got Russia to lay down it’s arms build up because of a bluff. Ronald Reagan the actor that he was used a big bluff in spending the billions that he did on STAR WARS. it was to be a Hugh system of satellites that would have lasers in them that would act like a big safety net. If Russia sent a missile over, it would shoot it out of the sky with a laser beam. We did not have the technology to do it, but the bluff worked. And it bankrupted Russia.

Satan himself is the biggest bluffer there is and if he can get you to not use your Faith, then he has got you beat.    In [Romans 8: 10] we read “And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is Life because of Right-Wise-ness. [11]But if the Spirit of Him the raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Jesus from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwells in you. ...[13]  For if we live after the dictates of our flesh, we shall die: but if, through the Spirit we do mortify the deeds of the body, we shall live.”

Now, Sunday we talked about exercising your senses. Training your senses to respond only to The Word of God. [Hebrews 5: 14](read) So strong meat belongs only to those who are able to exercise their senses. We need to learn to exercise our senses in order to properly utilize them in knowing and understanding the day and hour that we live in.  We see in [Mal 3: 16-18] That those who talked the word exercised their senses to discern between righteousness and wickedness, between those who are serving God and those who are not. (read) So we must learn to exercise our Spiritual sense of faith as well.

[58 Super Sense]   The five senses does not control the sixth sense, but the sixth sense controls the five senses. The super sense controls the natural senses. And the--the five senses is see, taste, feel, smell, hear. And the super sense is something that'll make you believe God's Word, for that's the only thing it'll speak about. And it'll make you believe for things that you can't see, taste, feel, smell, or hear, 'cause it'll take God's Word. And it will deliver that Word to you, and make you walk contrary to any other thing there is but God's Word. By faith, faith does it

[127  Perfect Strength]  those five senses: see, taste, feel, smell, and hear is very fine until they interrupt the sense of faith. Then when they come against faith... And how do you know which one's right? Because faith will always agree with the Word. And then if your faith is contrary to the Word, or you think it is, then you haven't got faith. You've got a make-belief....  and faith can only be built upon the Word of God: correct faith.

Now tonight I want to continue with this thought on the controlling of our senses and the exercising of them, but in order to do so we need to read a little further in this message.

[Christ Revealed in His Own Word], ( pp. 23)  “about how that the five senses on the outer realm... That's the inlet, five senses to the body. There's only one way you can get into the body, that's by those five senses: See, taste, feel, smell, and hear; there's no other way to contact the--the body. (24) On the inside of that man is a man called spirit. And he has five senses: Think and thought, and love, and conscience, and so forth. All right.  (25) Now, you can't think with your body; you think with your mind. And in there is where too many of Christians only stop. And they can, just like the corn in the field and the weed in the field, they can be anointed with the same Holy Spirit that the real believer's anointed with. But down on the inside of that next realm, the third realm, is the soul; and that's predestinated by God. There's where the real seed-germ lays, is in there.  (26)  And remember, if I'd take a cocklebur and cut it open, graft into it the heart of a wheat and put it there, bury it, it would bring forth a wheat out of the cocklebur, no matter what the outside is, what the emotions.

Now what I want to stress here is this last statement here, But down on the inside of that next realm, the third realm, is the soul; and that's predestinated by God. There's where the real seed-germ lays, is in there... no matter what the outside is...  Now in order to follow through in this thought we need to hear a little bit more of what Brother Branham is telling us. And so let’s continue to read... (PP. 27) Christ Revealed In His Own Word 65-0822M  Today's so confused about the evidence of the Holy Ghost and so forth. Satan can impersonate any kind of a gift that God's got, but he cannot bring that Word, word by word. That's where he failed in the garden of Eden; that's where he's always failed. That's where them... The tape on false anointed ones.  They can be anointed with the Spirit, speak in tongues, dance, shout, preach the Gospel, and still a devil. It's the inside. Now, remember, Jesus said. "All the Father has given Me, will come to Me. No man can come except My Father draws him first."

Now let me stop right here and focus upon these few words. Notice he said, no matter what the outside might show, it’s really what is in the inside. It boils down to Seed. Either you are God’s Seed or you are not.  he said, no matter what the outside is...   It's the inside. There's where the real seed-germ lays,  Then he tells us... that's predestinated by God. Jesus said. "All the Father has given Me, will come to Me. No man can come except My Father draws him first." And so we see that there then must be a seed in you predestined from God in order for you to come to God.

And so then if it is not what the outside can produce but what is in the inside, in the Soul, then we see that the Soul as brother Branham said will only look to the Word. It will not be caught off guard looking at what the eyes can see and the ears can hear, because the eyes and ears can be deceived.  we remember from our study thus far that in [Genesis 3: 6-7] We saw that something physical was shown to Eve and attracted her away from the Word of God, then this same act between Adam and Eve caused them to see things in a different perspective than what they had seen before. Visual sight, the outer sense of sight gave way to an inner sense of insight that knew because of what they did, they were no longer under the veil of innocence, and they knew they were naked.

Yet we also see in Laodicea, the people are blinded to this inner sight or insight by the things that they can see with their own eyes. So it works both ways. In [Psalm 103:7] we are told that God made known his ways unto Moses but only His acts to the children of Israel. And so we can see that although they actually saw the vindication in operation, they did not understand it because God’s ways were still not visible to them.  It took Faith which is the Sixth sense to know the ways of God and the people, although they could see the pillar of Cloud and the Pillar of Fire, yet they could not see in the inner sense nor in their Faith what God was doing. And why is this? Because they did not receive Moses for what He was to them. God said, when you see Him you see me. But they did not have the Faith to believe this and so although they saw with their eyes, they were still blind to Faith.

Now what I am trying to get across in this teaching is that we must never allow our senses to contradict the sixth sense of Faith. Jesus said in  [John 7:24] “judge not according to appearance, but judge righteous judgment.”  In other words, we should not just go by what we see physical but we must use that sixth sense to control our inner sight and be able to discern from the outer sight. Because after all, just because we can see it with our eyes does not mean we understand what is it is that we are seeing. In [Mark 8: 17-18] Jesus asks the question. “Is there no connection between your eyes and your heart (understanding)?”

And in viewing brother Branham’s statement that it is not the outside that counts, but what is in the inside, we then must use our little illustration of looking through red at red. [Isa 1:18] (Read) Now though your sins are red and even scarlet in color, yet God does not look upon them as such. He sees them as white as snow. Now if you look at this book you know that it is red with white letter’s, but God is looking through a filter of the blood of His Son and does not see what you see. He sees what he wants to see, and if we are to not look on the outward appearance, but we are to judge righteous judgment, then we must see what God sees in order to be righteous. For if we walk in the same Light ( knowledge) as God is walking, then we are cleansed of all our sin and we have fellowship. And the Bride will say  only what God has already said about her. Confession comes from the words Homo and Logos which is the same Word. Jesus said, “ If you confess me before man, I will confess you before my Father.” Then you have passed from judgment into Life. You can never be judged because You are what God says you are, and that is your confession. [John 5: 24]  “when I see the blood I will pass over you.’   [Psalm32:1-10]  and [Rom 4:7-8] You might have done it, but God don’t give you credit. Impute = to take into consideration when assessing the account.

607-Q-140  QA.GOD.BEING.MISUNDERSTOOD  JEFF  COD  61-0723E  Now, were the five of the virgins lost? I presume that they are asking the question, "the five virgins," the five wise and the five foolish. Now, if you were with us in the last teachings in Revelation, you find out there that those virgins, the--the five foolish virgins were not lost; but they were not permitted to go into the wedding supper, but they suffered persecution, and was martyred, and raised again at the general resurrection in the last day. Those are the people where He separated the sheep from the goats (See?); they stood before judgment.  You say, "Well, Brother Branham, don't we stand, the Church?"  No, sir. We do not stand before the judgment. We are now standing before the Judgment. God put our sins upon Christ, and we... "He that heareth My Word (St. John 5:24) and believeth on Him that sent Me has Eternal Life, and shall not come into the judgment but has passed from death unto Life."

No more judgment for the Church, it's took up in the rapture, and comes back to pass judgment upon the people who did not receive the Holy Spirit. Does not Paul say that he dares any of us to take a--a matter to the court, to the unjust magistrate, when, "know ye not that the saints shall judge the earth?" We will set with Christ and judge, kings, and priests, and judge these people that we preached to and told them about the baptism of the Holy Ghost and they refused to receive It. Think of it.   No, they were not lost, but they will never be in the Bride. They were come in the second resurrection, but never be in the Bride, to be judged according to the way they treated the Light that they received. Now, that part will be up to Christ. They were not lost though.

12-3  [Serpent Seed]  58-0928E  Well then, the infinite God Who saves you here, knowing He's going to lose you next week, or next month, or next year, why, He's defeating the very purpose. He can't lose you. "He that heareth My Words and believeth on Him that sent Me has Everlasting Life and shall never come into the judgment but's done passed from death unto life." Can't do it. He'd no more... He that is born of God does not commit sin, for the seed of God remains in him, and he cannot sin. How can he sin when there's a sin-offering for him? How can I be sick when I'm in perfect health? How can I be blind when I can see? Oh, my. How can I be in the building and out of the building at the same time? How can I be drunk and sober at the same time? You can't do it. And when you're saved, you're under the atonement, and your sins are not reckoned unto you.

E-59  [Thy House] 61-0808  So, then in that, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. If your children isn't saved, until they get saved. And Jesus said (now, remember, Saint John 5:24), "He that heareth My Words and believeth on Him that sent Me, hath Everlasting Life and shall not come to the judgment."  Then if he don't come to the judgment, where does he go? In the rapture. See? 'Cause that's the judgment after the rapture. See? "Shall not come into the judgment, but has passed from death unto Life." Because he's believed on the Lord Jesus Christ. Isn't that wonderful? So they--your children will be there with you. Your loved ones will be there with you. And I hope I'm there with you. Amen.

E-24  [Have Not I Sent Thee]  62-0124   And tonight we're safely, completely resting in the atonement that our Lord made for us, knowing this, that when the judgment comes, that we'll float above the judgment. We'll be taken out of the world and will not have to stand the judgment, for our Lord promised us in St. John 5:24, "He that heareth My words, and believeth on Him that sent Me, has Eternal Life, and shall not come into the judgment; but has passed from death unto Life."  Not a wandering soul when we die; we're in the Presence of God. Not a wandering through a endless eternity, lost, to know we have to return back and be judged according to the deeds done in the body, but, Father, tonight we have settled that at the altar, and our sins has gone on before us, and been justified by the Blood of Jesus Christ, with the proof of it, God poured back the Holy Spirit upon us, and we're sealed now unto our eternal destination.

E-14  [Expressions]  62-0313 See, there is a way we know where we're going, because the expressed image of God laid down this plan. And He said, "Whosoever would accept this plan would have Eternal Life." John 5:24 said, "He that heareth My words and believeth on Him that sent Me has Everlasting Life, and shall not come into the judgment; but has passed from death unto Life." The greatest expression of all was Jesus Christ, Who made a way for us. He fulfilled and vindicated all the expressions that these flowers, and botany life, and so forth, and the sun, and the solar system has witnessed before His coming that there was coming a Just One, that would make us firmly believe it, because He would be the expressed image of God. And when He came and did what He did, He proved that these expressions was right. He gave vindication to them. Because as a flower raises again, the tree raises again, the sun raises again, so shall the Christian rise again. It has to, because God in the express image of a human being, or a human being in the express image of God, proved it by His resurrection.

Can you see the importance of looking by Faith only, and saying only what God says about you?
