The Dumbing Down of America

What does it mean “I am the Lord thy God and thou shalt have no other gods.” What does it mean to have no other? What is God trying to get across to the people by saying no other. He is letting us know that He is it. He stands alone and there is none that compare. There is none worthy of our worship, for the word God means an object of worship. And He is telling us there can be no other. In other words, He is the Ultimate, He is our Absolute and there can be no other absolute. And yet we find according to [John 1:1] that God is the Word. As a man thinketh in His heart so is he and out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh and the Word of God then is God to us. The Word of God declares Who He is and therefore is Who He is. And so we find then that God’s Word is our God and no other God or no other Word shall be received as True worship. Jesus Himself said, “God is Spirit, and they that Worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and In Truth.” And so without Truth, you can not worship God. And what Is Truth? In [John 17:17] Jesus was praying to God, His Father, and said, “Sanctify them through Thy Truth, for Thy Word is Truth.” His Word then is our absolute and our ultimate, and this is what we shall be hearing brother Branham bring to us as we read the next few paragraphs.

[40] And by the way, people listening to these tapes. Some--so many sends in, said, "Why, in the "Marriage and Divorce" you said this and you said that." I said that so many times: these tapes goes only... I'm speaking to my congregation, brother. I'm not responsible for what God give you to shepherd; I'm responsible for what kind of food I feed these people. This is for this Tabernacle only. See? Now, if the people want to listen to the tapes, that's up to them. But I'm speaking to what God has give to me. It was their sins that was omitted. Someone wrote out and said, "Well, I've done this and I've done that. You said our sins..." I didn't say that. I said, "See it to this: this is only to this people right here, the people here in the Tabernacle, my own flock." Now, if people wants to hybrid food and stuff out there... You--you get the revelation from God and do what God tells you to do. I'll do the same thing. But these messages are to this church.

[41] Notice. Now, we come back; we've got to have something another that we have to hold on to. Something has to be a tie post; in other words, it's an ultimate. And everyone must have an ultimate or an absolute. I preached on it one time years ago, on a absolute, a place that's the last word. Like the umpire at a ball game, if he says it's a strike, that's just exactly what it is. No matter how you seen it, the umpire said it's a strike. You said, "I, It wasn't a strike. It went... I seen the..." It don't matter what it is, when he said, "Strike," that's it, and that's settled, just what... He's the ultimate. And the traffic light is an ultimate. If it says, "Go," I... You say, "Well, I--I'm in a hurry, I got..." No, no, it says, "You stand still while the other fellow goes." See? It's the ultimate.

[ 44] Now, there's got to be an ultimate to everything you do. There had to be an ultimate when you chose your wife. There had to be a woman you had to select. Now, there has to be a time where when you're go to buy a car, what kind of an ultimate you're going to make. Will it be Ford, Chevy, Plymouth, foreign car, whatever it is, you got to have an ultimate. And so is it with Christian living; there's got to be an ultimate.

Now this is a very important subject we are going to address here because I believe that the lack of an ultimate or absolute is why we have so much chaos in this country today. And that is exactly what happens when you do not have an absolute, chaos results. Look, let’s just use the same illustration that brother Branham used and play it out for a little bit as an example so that we can see what He is driving at. And remember, the title of this Message is “Christ Revealed in HIS Own Word.” Now that is an absolute. If Christ is Revealed in HIS OWN Word, then the Word of Christ is the only way in which He is or will be Revealed. So then if we are to get to know Christ, if He is to become revealed to us, it must come only one way and that is through His Own Word. So then His Word is the Absolute or ultimate if we are to get to know Him.

Now the illustration that brother Branham used is an umpire in a baseball game. Without the umpire you have chaos. What if the game was determined by the players only. Well, the pitcher would say he pitched a strike and the hitter would deny it, and the game would then turn to chaos. But a baseball game has a set of rules and those rules are used to govern the game. The umpire can not make up his own rules, because he must submit to the rules of the game. Without the set of rules and an umpire to administrate them, the game would have no rhyme or reason to it. The rules could be changed from inning to inning or from pitch to pitch.

Then what happens? You no longer have laws that govern, but chaos that follows. Every little interest group has their own agenda and their own agenda’s become their absolute. Just like the denominations. They are in essence private interest groups that have their own agenda, and their own agenda is their absolute. You tell them what God’s Word says and they say, But my church says this.

And that is about the way that things have developed in America today. The Legislative branch of our government was formed to make the laws and the judicial branch was created to police those laws, and administrate those laws. But what has happened is that everybody wants to play lawmaker and in the Judicial branch we have seen the courts and other judicial branches of government have decided that they can make up their own rules and break the existing rules as they please. The BATF and the FBI and the CIA and other law enforcement agencies including the IRS have run amuck with making up their own laws or changing existing laws without proper legislative accord which must come from those who were elected to represent the people. And we have seen the Judicial courts, the Supreme court come to the place where they have decided that they are the interpreters of those laws and by doing so they have changed the meaning of those laws. Instead of the Rights to Life they have assented to the rights to murder innocent unborn children.

Our educational system has run amuck because the teachers unions have no True absolute, and so they push their agenda’s which have created chaos in American society. Children today graduating from the public schools who can not even read. This nation spends more per student than any other nation in the world yet we are the last in value of education per dollar spend, even behind the lowest third world countries. And if you get a good teacher who tries to teach the children to learn, they will be ostracized by the other faculty members and the union will not support them because they are not following the unions manifest.

In fact I heard the other day a recital of the National Federation of Teachers manifest for 1995 and 1996 in which the gay agenda is being pushed forward as an acceptable lifestyle in the schools. The California teachers union put out a calendar of events for this year and it listed among the events, “Coming out week” and “National aids awareness week,” and some Hindu holiday, but it skipped Thanks Giving and Christmas. This shows who is in charge of the schools. Satan himself has become incarnate in the people and has taken over the minds of the people just as God’s Presence has become incarnate in His Prophet in this hour and is taking over the minds of His People, His Elect.

Now we all know this is the effects of a Godless society. But did you know that the Catholic church through the Society of Jesus (the Order of the Jesuits) has been planning the take over of the minds of this nation for well over a 100 years or more? I have 7 books in my possession that deal specifically with this subject and only one of them has been written in the past few years and that by a devout Catholic Malaci Martin. The other books are very old and in fact 3 of them were written around the turn of the century.

Thirty Years in Hell written by ex-priest Bernard Fresenberg was written in 1904 with many quotations dating back to the 1860’s. The Second book titled, The Devil in the Church and his snares laid to destroy our Public Schools was written by Norman Morand Roumane, was written in 1902, while the third book, entitled Romanism a Menace to the Nation, by ex-priest Jeremiah Crowley from Cincinnati, was written in 1912. Each of these books reveals specifically the role of the Catholic church from ex-priests who were aware of the Jesuit plans to destroy our public schools. The books are very interesting and reveal much concerning to what we are now seeing take place in our schools. This DUMBING DOWN of America is nothing that has come over night in this Nation. It has been planned for a long time and has been implemented over the years piece by piece until we see the manifestation of it today.

Many quoted statements in these books reveal where the real dumming down of America has come from, such statements are quoted as the following:

Pope Pius IX from the Enc. 45 “The Roman church has a right to interfere in the discipline of the public schools, and in the arrangements of the studies of the public schools, and in the choice of teachers for these schools.”

Quote from Catholic Priest in The Boston Advertiser: “Catholics would not be satisfied with the public schools even if the Protestant Bible and every vestige of religious teaching were banished from them -”

Cardinal McClosky: “We must take part in elections. Move in solid mass in every state against the party pledged to sustain the integrity of the public schools.”

President Garfield in His Acceptance letter, July 12, 1880: “Next in importance to freedom and justice, is popular education, without which neither freedom nor justice can be permanently maintained. It would be unjust to our people and dangerous to our institutions, to apply any portion of the revenue of the nation, or of the State, to the support of sectarian schools. The separation of the Church and the State, in everything relating to taxation should be absolute.”

General Grant Des Moisnes, 1876: “Encourage free schools and resolve that not one dollar appropriated to them shall be applied tot he support of any sectarian school. ‘

Pope Pius IX ENCYCL - 47: “Education outside control of the Roman Catholic Church is a dangerous heresy... Public schools open to all children for the education of the young should be under the control of the Roman Catholic Church and should not be subject to the civil power, nor made to conform with the opinions of the age.”

Abraham Lincoln: “The common people see and hear the big noisy wheels of Southern Confederacy’s cars, they call the Jeff Davis, Lee, Toombs, Beauregard, Semmes, etc., and they honestly think that they are the motive power, the first cause of our troubles. But it is a mistake. The True motive power is secreted behind thick walls of the Vatican, the colleges and schools of the Jesuits, the convents of the nuns and confessional boxes of Rome.

There is a fact which is too much ignored by the American people, and with which I am acquainted only since I became President; it is that the best, the leading families of the South, have received their education in great part, if not in the whole, from Jesuits, and the nuns. Hence those degrading principles of slavery, pride, cruelty, which are as a second nature among so many of those people. Hence that strange want of fair play, humanity; that implacable hatred against ideas of equality and liberty, as we find them in the Gospel of Christ. You do not ignore that the first settlers of Louisiana, Florida, New Mexico, Texas, South Carolina and Missouri were Roman Catholics, and that their first teachers were Jesuits. It is true that those states have been conquered or bought by us since. But Rome has put the deadly virus of her anti-society and anti-Christian maxims into the veins of the people before they became American citizens.

Unfortunately the Jesuits and the nuns have in great part remained the teachers of those people since. They have continued, in a silent, but most efficacious way, to spread their hatred against our institutions, our laws, our schools, our rights and our liberties, in such a way, that this terrible conflict became unavoidable, between the North and the South. As I told you before, it is Popery that we owe this terrible civil war.

I would have laughed at the man who would have told me that before I became President. But Professor Morse has opened my eyes on that subject. And, now, I have seen that mystery; I understand that engineering of hell which, though not seen, nor even suspected by the country, is putting in motion the large, heavy and noisy wheels of the state cars of the Southern Confederacy.

Our people are not yet ready to learn and believe those things, and perhaps it is not the proper time to initiate them to those dark mysteries of hell; it would throw oil on a fire which is already sufficiently destructive.

You are almost the only one with whom I speak freely on that subject. But Sooner or later, the nation will know the real origin of those rivers of blood and tears, which are spreading desolation and death everywhere. And then, those who have caused those desolation’s and disasters will be called to give an account of them.

I do not pretend to be a prophet. But I see a very dark cloud on our horizon. And that dark cloud is coming from Rome. It is filled with tears of blood. It will rise and increase, till its flanks will be torn by a flash of lightning, followed by a fearful peal of thunder. Then a cyclone such as the world has never seen, will pass over this country, spreading ruin and desolation from north to South. After it is over, there will be long days of peace and prosperity: for Popery, with its Jesuits and merciless Inquisitions, will have been for ever swept away from our country. neither I nor you, but our children will see those things.”

Cardinal Martinelli Papal delegate to America 1902: “we know that there are many immortal priests and bishops, but still the laity have no right to interfere with the clergy; if the laity understand they have any rights, they will do in America as they once did in France during the Revolution, they will murder the clergy. In this independent country it would not be wise to let the laity understand they have any right to interfere in church matters: and one of the principal things we have against you, Father Crowley, is that you are enlightening the Catholic laity of this country as to their rights; the laity have no rights to expose their clergy, no matter how immoral they may be; the laity must be ignored; they must be crushed!”
