Christ is the Mystery no 128

Christian Life no 9

The Christ that sends us goes in us

October 23, 2013

Brian Kocourek

This evening we will pick up where we left off on Sunday, and we will begin reading from PP. 208, of Christ is the Mystery of God Revealed. This will be 128 in our series and no in our mini series on the Christian Life.

Notice Branham says, "Now, notice, God making Himself known. We're not suppose to make converts to Christianity by a government, but by the revelation of Christ in you as God was in Christ. (1) As God was in Christ, Christ in you. (2) What God did in Christ, Christ does in you. (3) What signs did God in Christ, Christ does in you..

Now, I hope you see how brother Branham is making the unmistakable statement that John 14:12 ties in with John 14:20.

Then he says, "Oh, isn't that beautiful? Oh, my. I like that. Jesus said at that day (that's this day), (notice, we're not talking of Luther's day, nor Wesley's day, but we're talking about this day. Br. Branham's identifying this Scripture with this day.) at that day (when this revelation's made known) you will know (Not me alone he says, but you will know) that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me, I in you, and you in Me. (When the revelation's made manifest,)

(What's he saying here. When the revelation's made manifest,

According to Webster's dictionary the word revelation in Theology means: Revelation is a manifestation of divine will or truth.

No, notice it is not just knowing the Divine will or truth as though it comes via a mental awareness, but it tells us that Revelation is a manifestation of Divine will or truth.

The Apostle Paul tells us how he received the revelation of Jesus Christ and it was not by going to some seminary or from hearing some preacher, but he says in Ephesians 3:3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; as I wrote afore in few words, Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ.

Now the question then must be asked, how did Paul come to know the mystery of Christ? Because he didn’t learn it from Jesus Christ in the flesh. And he didn’t learn it from the Apostles themselves. It came from a revelation, a revealing, a manifesting of Divine truth and Divine will through the Pillar of Fire making known to Paul that the Life that lived and expressed itself in Jesus is the same Life that raised up Jesus from the dead, is the same God-Life that was talking to Him out of that Pillar of Fire.

So it is this manifestation that is so all important to us. Not what teacher taught you, that is only mental knowledge. But the expression of God-Life made known to you and through you. Now, let’s read again this last paragraph we started here. Paragraph 250 in your books.

Christ is the Mystery of God Revealed 128 (250)  But the only way that you're saved is by know Him by revelation. If I can take... I can take the Presbyterian doctrine and tie you Pentecostals till you won't know... I can take the Baptist doctrine and show you Pentecostals a million things that you know nothing of. That's right. But that's not it; that's not His Church. That's not His Church.

And I would like to add, “you can take what brother Vayle taught and tie message ministers into knots” and that still isn’t what brother Branham is telling us here. It’s not what you know by your mental abilities, brothers and sisters, it’s by Revelation which is a manifestation of the expression. Listen to brother Branham as he dives deeper into this.

He says, “His Church is Himself revealed (Amen. Do you see it?) and expressed by the Word Itself that He is God.

Now, listen, he said “But the only way that you're saved is by knowing Him by revelation.” And yet so many think it is by what you know. “well, if I know the doctrine, that means I am saved and spirit filled.” No it doesn’t mean that. You're only fooling yourself if you believe that.

Someone said to brother Branham “I believe everything you say brother Branham”, and you know what brother Branham said in reply? He said, “That just means you can read”.

From his sermon What Holy Ghost was given for 59-1217 P:38 brother Branham said, “You say, "I believe it because the pastor said so.” He's right, but that doesn't count for you. "I believe it because the Word says so.” That's right, but that isn't for you; that doesn't count you. The only way that you can say that Jesus is the Christ, is when the Holy Ghost comes into you, and bears record, and witnesses Itself out; He is the Son of God. That's the only way you know the resurrection, is when the Holy Ghost bears record. "When He the Holy Ghost is come, He will testify of Me, show you things to come, bring these things that I've said to your memories." You'll never find it in the school. See? He will bring these things to your memories. "

So what’s he saying here? He’s saying that Jesus Christ will live your life for you. He will take your body and live His life in your body and then you will know, because that life will be expressed in you. And that is when you will know that you are indeed born again. That’s what the new birth is all about. Not just knowing something happened. The devil can impersonate all of that. Not just some experience you had, but when you experience Christ living His Life in your body, out from deep within you comes the very Life, and thoughts, and words of Christ.

In other words, when you know that your life has been taken over, and there is another Life living in you which has possessed your body, and the evidence of that Life expressing itself out from you has the same nature and characteristics that expressed itself in Jesus Christ. Until that happens, you are only hoping you are born again.

Br. Branham in quoting James says, "Then faith without works is dead." If you say, "I believe it," and don't make no act... Just like the Message. If you say, "I believe it," don't make no act, what good does it do? See? Noah went to work with his hammer and built an ark to confirm what he was talking about. That's what we have to do too. We have to go to work and prove our faith by our works. Our works proves our faith. Moses had to do it, and Elijah had to do it. Every prophet in his age had to stand up and face these responsibilities. But many of them didn't do like Jonah. He run; they didn't.

From his sermon Putting on the whole armor of God 62-0607 P:78 brother Branham pretty well nails down how you will know if you are a true believer. And it isn’t by being able to recite the scriptures or an apostles creed or even our prophet of this hour. He tells us point blank that "if you truly believe all the Word then it will manifest in your life by doing the very same things Jesus did." That is why I I'm focusing so much on John 14:12 because you just have to wake up. This is the hour for the very Life of Christ to express itself in the church. That's what Colossians 3 is all about.

Colossians 3:1  If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2  Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.  3  For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4  When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

Look, he is telling us when Christ who is Our Life, when he shall manifest in His True identity is when he does it through you. And so when he manifests you manifest. In What? In the same Glory that He manifested to man at the alpha. and you will do so at the Omega.

John 17:18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. 19  And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.  20  Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; 21  That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. 22  And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: 23  I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

That is why he tells us in Colossians that if we have the Life in Christ expressing itself in us, in the same Glory, the same opinions and values of God, then we will  5  Mortify therefore our members which are upon the earth; and then he gives us a whole list of things we won't do any longer.

Now, brother Branham said in his sermon, Putting on the whole armor of God 62-0607 P:78 Now. He said what He would do? He would come and vindicate Himself in His church, and they would vindicate His resurrection by His works. See? Yeah, John 14:12. I think that's right: yeah, John 14:12. Jesus said, "He that believeth in Me, the works that I do shall he do also." See, what is it? Now, you say, "I believe." That's just a word. But if you truly believe, that's this. If He is the Word, then you got to believe all the Word. "He that believeth all of Me (just don't believe part of it, believe all of Me), then the works that I do shall he do also," for He is still the same Word. So if it's the same Word, it would do the same works. If this Holy Spirit that's here today, if it isn't the same Word that it was in the beginning... If It is, It'll do the same works. That's the reason Jesus said, "He that believeth in Me, the works that I do shall he do also." Oh, I'd like to stay on that a little while, but getting too late. Why? The same Word, same works (See?), 'cause Jesus was God's works, we know that. "

And so in paragraph 208 brother Branham is telling us the same thing.

Notice he tells us, "in That day. When? The day "when the revelation is made manifest?" The day when the unveiling of this revelation takes place, at that day, Jesus said, and brother Branham just told us that day is this day. When this what Jesus is saying in John 14:12 takes place, he said in that day, which is John 14:20 at that day when you see John 14:12 manifested then you will also come into the same manifestation of the Word by receiving the same Revelation of that Word which is the manifestation or expression of God, and His God-Life in you.

At that day when the revelation is made manifest, that is the day when the revelation comes into effect by expressing itself out from the body.

And what does it mean to be made manifest? When it is visibly identified, when it is visibly expressed, when it is visibly shown. It takes the viewing of the manifestation of this revelation to make this revelation manifest in the rest of the body. And we saw God in Christ in the Alpha expressing His God-Life to the world.

We saw God in William Branham in an Omega expression, showing us what that God Life is and how it is to conduct itself, and so that is all it takes to make the promise effective in the rest of the body.) "at that day," (what day? The day when you are no longer orphans.  And when is an orphan no longer an orphan? When he is adopted.

At That Day, the day when he comes to adopt His Children, you the believers shall know that I and the Father are One. I'm in the Father, and the Father's in Me. Then when the revelation comes forth, then it's I in you and you in Me." There you are. See the manifold threefold... What for? To bring it back. We've got to be...

from his sermon, Hear ye Him 58-0209A P:37 And if the new life that you think you've received doesn't pattern with God's Word, you've got the wrong life in you. The life of Christ will produce the works of Christ, will produce the faith of Christ, will make you act as Christ, make you love Him. He will be first in your life. Your objectives, your motives, and everything will be all-together different. It'll be for the glory of God.

And again from his sermon, Queen of Sheba 58-0125 P:44 If I say, "The Spirit of Christ is in me," then I must do the works of Christ. Jesus said, "The Father has sent Me, and if I do not the works of God, then believe Me not. But if I do the works, and you can't believe Me, believe the works that you might be saved." How plain. Your objective right, your motive right, sincerely, dumped out of self, and yield yourself to the Holy Spirit and watch what He will do for you.

Shalom 64-0119 P:34 Your life proves whether Jesus is with you or not. Your life shows whether He's occupied here, or whether He's still in His heavens or not, whatever you are. "The works that I do shall you do also." How could you have Christ in you, and then the very Spirit in you deny His Word, take up a creed instead? It can't do it. He would defeat Himself by denying His Own Word. Just because somebody put a wrong interpretation to It? You got a Bible, you can read like anybody else. Be sincere. David said, "Put Him always before your face." Know that when we're meeting this new year, we're meeting it in the power of the resurrection of Christ. "He's always before me. I shall not be moved."

Let me just read a few more quotes from brother Branham before we go back to Christ is the mystery of God Revealed.

From his sermon, Queen of Sheba 60-0710 P:40 he said, "The Bible said that "No man can call Jesus the Christ only by the Holy Ghost." If you've never received the Holy Ghost, you don't know that He's the Christ yet. Remember that. You're only walking towards that light. You can say, "My pastor said so." That's true. "My Bible said so." That's true. "My mother said so." That's truth. "My church believes it's the Holy Ghost." That's true, but what about you? As an individual, you don't know until you've received It. And when you receive the Holy Ghost, then you are a witness that He's alive forever more. Now, the Holy Ghost is within you; now, and then you watch Him as He works. If the Life of Christ is in you, it will produce His Life in you." The works that I do shall you do also." The same works, because it's the same life. If the life in a watermelon vine produces a watermelon, well, The next branch that comes out, it'll produce another watermelon; every time it'll be a watermelon. And if the church is really anchored in Christ, every church will write a book of Acts behind it. That's exactly right, because the first one wrote a book of Acts behind it. So, there we are."

Shalom 64-0119 P:90 Where do you see Jesus in David? When the Word was made manifest through him. How do you see Christ, God in Elijah, in that chariot going into heaven, see Jesus in Elijah? 'Cause the Word was vindicated. How do you see It in Moses? Jesus was in Moses. The Bible said so. See? That's right. He was the burning bush that was with Moses in the wilderness. How will people know Jesus Christ? When they see Him in you, when they see Jesus in you. For He said, "The works that I do shall you do also. Greater than this shall you do, because I go to My Father." Is that right? That's how they, world knows.

Token the 63-1128E P:28 "And these signs shall follow them that believe," not just professors, but identified believers. (now, he's not talking about college professors, here, he's talking about people who talk it but don't live it.) "They may not follow? They probably will? and perhaps they will"? Jesus said, "They shall follow them that believe." Just absolutely impossible for it not to happen. "The works that I do shall you do also."

The word shall is not a suggestion, nor is it a maybe. The word shall is used to express a command or exhortation. It means, will have to :  you must, and there's no getting aroundit.

Then brother Branham says, "That's the identification. Jesus' identification was to manifest the Word of God, which He was. And the Church's identification today is to manifest the promised Word of this day by the same Spirit that manifested and quickened the Word then. The same Spirit quickens the Word to the believer today and manifests the same thing, showing that the Token is on this person, which is the resurrected Life of Jesus Christ living in His believer. Oh, that ought to set a church afire. And that's true, just as true as it could be.

Now, in this next quote brother Branham tells us specifically what John 14:12 means. From his sermon, Perseverance 63-1116E P:54 brother Branham says, "And nothing can bother the Church of the living God as long as we can feel that Holy Ghost, the Covenant of God's Word in our hearts, the Pentecostal blessing. "For the works that I do, shall you do also. The Life that's in Me, will be in you. As the Father hath sent Me, so send I you." The Father that sent Him, come in Him. The Jesus that sends the man, goes in the man. It isn't the man; it's Jesus. It wasn't Jesus; it was God. "As the Father sent Me, so send I you. Lo, I am with you always, even to the consummation. I'll be with you to the end of the world. And the works that I do, shall you also. A little while and the world won't see Me no more; yet ye shall see Me (the believer), for I'll be with you, even in you, to the end of the world," Jesus Christ. As long as I can feel that Spirit of God around, something's going to happen. I can see people that'll believe It, that will reflect the praises and glory of God.

Notice you can not get away from what he is telling us here. He tells u specifically that John 14:12 is the life that was in Christ will be in the one who really truly believes, and he knows he believes because he sees that very same life and signs that lived itself out in Jesus Christ are living in himself. That's how you know you've been born again. It's not based on knowing mentally a doctrine. It's not based on having some form of experience. It's based upon the daily experience of Christ living in You and God lived in Him.

Now, in getting back to Christ is the Mystery of God revealed, let's continue to read on with the next paragraph, we hear brother Branham say in no.209   "As Jesus was the Word of God, He vindicated the same. If He wasn't the Word, He wouldn't have made manifest the Word. He'd have been some great theologian. That would've been the real Messiah the world was looking for. See? Yes, sir. That would've been Him. That's what they're looking for today: some somebody can exceed Billy Graham, or somebody can smother down with their organization, come up and show them Baptists they know where they're standing. Sure. They're looking for that. But the Church is looking for the humility and the signs of the living God, Christ.

You hear that? Not looking for someone who can teach the doctrine better than the next guy. But the said, the Church is looking for the humility (what humility? The same humility that was in Christ in them) so they are looking for the humility of Christ and the signs of the living God, Christ.

Not looking for signs, but looking for the sign of Christ alive in them.

PP. 210   Jesus wasn't a great theologian. He was a common peasant, a carpenter's Son (so-called). See? He walked around, but God... He said, "Some of you show Me what the Bible says that I will do that I haven't manifest." So the Church can do the same thing today. What Christ did, so does the Church do now. "That day you'll know that I am in the Father and the Father's in Me, I in you and you in Me." See? There you go. Marching on to Zion. To where? the Kingdom. "At that day, you will know that I'm in you."

You know the Message camps say, your preaching false because you are not preaching what our camp teaches. But they are missing the phaneroo of Christ Life in the bride. It's not what you teach, it's the life that you live. That is what manifests Presence.

You teach fellows that He is here, that the judge is here, you might preach that but you does your life preach the same thing? Or does your life shows you don't believe the judge is here.

pp. 211 And watch here. Here's the beautiful... I don't want you to miss this. Now, everybody, and you people on tape, out in the jungles and wherever you hear it, now listen. "And as the Father has sent Me, so send I you," Jesus said. See? Now, watch, the Father that sent Him went in Him to vindicate Himself right, for He was the Word. And the same Jesus that sends you, goes with you and in you to vindicate the same God. "As the Father has sent Me (and I live by the Father), so I'll send you, and you live by Me." What is He? He's the Word. You live by the Word. Oh, how I would like to take a text on that and preach about a couple of hours on it (See?),on that.

pp. 212 Notice, notice. And the "Father that sent Me" went with Him. The Father that sends--the Jesus that sends us goes in... "A little while and the world won't see Me no more, yet ye shall see Me, for I (personal pronoun, 'I 'the Person, Jesus) will be with you, even in you to the end of the world. The works that I do shall you do also." Now, go back and see what He done; then see what you do, and then compare yourself.

Now, I am going to jump ahead just for tonight to pp. 216 in closing. "Listen closely now again as we go on, going back to the original Eden. Then when we are born of Him, we are filled with Him. See, your life... His Life is in you. Then all of our actions should declare Him. It's like taking life out of one tree and putting it into another. Taking life out of a pear tree and put it in an apple tree, it'll bear pears. It's got to, 'cause the sap, the life in it, the germ is pear tree. All right. Then all of our actions should declare Him. We have His Name. Is that right? We should bear His Name.

PP. 217   And remember, we are now as His Bride, pregnated with His Spirit. Oh, my. The Church bearing children (See?), pregnated by His Spirit with His Name, bearing His Name, bearing His Life, bringing forth the signs of His Life evident with the preeminence, evidence of His resurrection showing that He is not dead, but alive forevermore. This is Eternal Life. And a-vindicated, vindicates to the world that we are alive in Him. Whew.

Notice he says if you are impregnated with his life there will be signs of that Life developing in you. You can't get away from that. How can you say anything otherwise than that.

PP. 218   How do you know? 'Cause you're a church member? Because Christ is living through you! So pregnated with His Spirit that you're a prisoner to anything else. You're confined (oh, my.) to the Gospel, confined to the Word. And all the children that you can bring forth is that, 'cause you're a prisoner. You can't commit adultery; you're already pregnated. Glory. He can't take a hold. The womb of life is closed to anything else. You're already His by predestination. That Seed has come to Life. No world can get in. Oh. Oh, how we'd like to stay on this for about a hour. I'm sure you understand. See? Christ and His alone... already finished; the Seed was there. The Seed was already... When was it put there? Before the foundation of the world, has predestinated us unto Eternal Life. And as soon as the Life-giving flow, that Seed laying there... Other seed's that just would come in wouldn't take hold, just couldn't do it (like). But when that Seed come in, quickly it stopped up the womb; all the rest of the seed was drove out (see, like that), and you become a prisoner surrounded in Christ, Christ in you, His Life bringing forth His evidence, His signs. Oh, my, my, my. Look, bringing His signs of Life as an evident (Evident: clear to the vision or understanding) of His resurrection, proving to the world that Eternal Life, vindicates to the world that we're alive in Him. And think of it. Alive with God our Redeemer, Who created us for the very same purpose (the Church) and His creative Life in us. That is... Moses could said by the Word of God, "Let there come..." and there come flies. A God can make flies, can make squirrels. See? He can do whatever He wants to...?... God.

PP. 219   The very same God (that creative Life--you see?) that's in you can... You're a prisoner; you can't speak it till He says, "Speak it;" but when it gets spoke, it's God's Word. He's a-vindicated to be so; everything else is right, and he knows when that's spoke it's got to be so. See? Moses took his rod and said, "Let there come frogs" 'cause God said, "Let there come frogs." He just transmit it on out. That's right. And frogs was in everything; everywhere was frogs. Where'd they come from? Nobody knows; they wasn't there before. But the Creator-God, working through a man created things, a living species. The very God that made the first frog can make the second frog. He makes all frogs. Oh, my. You see what I mean? Made the first squirrel, makes the second squirrel, make any squirrel, can make squirrels where there is no squirrel. He can do anything He wants to. He's God. He's God. His Life... Oh, my.

Now in closing as I quoted brother Branham Sunday from his sermon, Mighty God Unveiled 64-0629 P:54. He said,  "Moses veiled, he was the living Word to the people. And today, the people that are veiled are the same thing; they are written epistles, read of all men, not a new epistle, but the epistle that's been written made manifested. It's those who believe the Word and the promise of this day that God is pouring out His Spirit upon all flesh; and that is written epistles. And when a person tries to carnally impersonate that, it backfires. Your life shows what you are.

And from Sir we would see Jesus 63-1112 P:18 Now, according to the Scriptures we are supposed to be written epistles of Him. The Bible says that we are written epistles. And if, tonight, we would hunger and thirst to see the Lord Jesus Christ, we as Christian believers should reflect His Life, so much, till it would be His entire representative. We should be that. Every Christian should represent and reflect the Life of Jesus Christ. Do you believe that? And I believe that every Christian should be reflecting the Life of Christ. He said in Saint John 14:12, "He that believeth on Me, the works I do shall he do also." And then we know that that's true, that we are His representatives. And if we claim that Christ lives in us, and if Christ lives in us, then we should do as Christ did. We should reflect His Life.

God identifying Himself 64-0320 P:34 See, there's no mistake about it. His life... "He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also." See, that identifies the characteristics, same thing He said. "If My character doesn't identify Myself, God in Him," then don't believe Him. Now, He also said that He would be identified in that. Then that, if it doesn't identify Him, then He isn't what He says. And today if Christ doesn't identify Hisself, the characteristic of Christ identify us as being of Christ, believing the Word... Jesus was the Word, so He had to believe the Word. And how can we say that we are of Christ and deny any Word in that Bible? The Holy Spirit of Christ is God in you. And it'll punctuate every promise with a "Amen." The Bible said, "These signs shall follow them that believe." The Spirit of God said, "Amen." See? One of them don't--said, "No, that was for another age. That was for disciples only." "Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature. He (anywhere, all the world) that believeth, these signs shall follow him," same thing, same yesterday, today, and forever, the characteristic being identified.

Jehovah Jireh 58-0127 P:50 Have you ever met that Jehovah-jireh? Have you ever met the conditions that He said, that He promised Eternal Life to as many as would believe on Him? He would change that temper you got into a sweet humble person. He'd make you stop lying and tell the truth. Oh, you say, "Brother Branham, I'm a church member." That's all right. "I've been baptized." That's all right. But if that Life of Christ isn't in you, you're dead. That life that you have, that's give to you by the world, God condemned it at the beginning. You know you can't polish it up. You can't reform it. It's got to die, so that Christ can be born in you. Do not be deceived, people, if Christ doesn't live in you by the new birth, that changes your whole nature, attitude, and everything, you're lost. Satan don't care how good you are. If goodness would've saved a man, Jesus wouldn't have had to die.

Let us pray
