Christ is the Mystery no154
The Righteous Man
Brian Kocourek
Psalms 32:2 Blessed
is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity,
and in whose spirit there is no guile.
In
other words, as Brother Vayle used to say, "you did it but
you just didn't get credit for it."
Hebrews 10:17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember
no more.
Hebrews 8:12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and
their iniquities will I remember no more.
Hebrews 1:9 Thou
hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity;
therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above
thy fellows.
Romans 4:7 [Saying],
Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and
whose sins are covered.
Let us pray, Dear merciful God, we humbly and
reverently approach Thee tonight in the precious name of Your Loving Son, Jesus
Christ. Be with us father as we come to open your Word, and then go to prayer
for we are a needy people, and your prophet taught us that we can eat too much,
and drink too much and seep too much and work too much but we can never pray
enough. Help us Father tonight as we read from Thy Word in preparation for
our souls to meet with thee in Prayer for we ask it in Jesus Christ's precious
name, Amen. You may be seated.
There is just one quote from brother Branham that I
would like to share tonight and that is from his Message, God's provided way - 53-1201 pp 10 where he said, Now, a
righteous man is not a sinless man. For you notice he said, "Elijah was a man subject to like passions as we are." He had his ups-and-downs and his differences. And the
Scripture of his life proves that he had his ups-and-downs like we do.
And he had his times of wondering and his times that his
temper got away from him, and he had a lot of things, that went
wrong. But he was still a righteous man, because he confessed
his unworthiness and believed in God. So that's what made him righteous.
We're not righteous within ourselves; we're righteous through Jesus
Christ. I cannot be sanctified within myself; I am sanctified through
Jesus Christ Who stands in the Presence of God in my
place. It isn't my holiness; it's His holiness. My holiness won't
work at all, but His does. Because God done accepted Him.
And in accepting Him He had to accept me, because I'm in Him. Amen.
That's what makes it real isn't it. Then we don't have to depend on ourself. Now, that doesn't make us say we can sin. Brother,
if you sin, you're just away from God. That's all. There's only one
thing to do, is confess it and get right with God. As long as you
desire to sin, the desire of sin's still in your heart, then it's time to
stay down at the altar till that thing's taken out. Now you will sin. You're
bound to sin 'cause you just can't help it, but not willful sin.
"He that sins willfully after he receive the knowledge of the truth (See?), there remaineth
no more sacrifice for sin." But every day
you're bound to sin. 11. And you're bound to
be backsliding constantly, so it takes a constant prayer to God. Paul said,
"I die daily."
And if Paul had to die daily, how much more am I'm going to have to stay
there dead all the time, if Paul had to die daily to stay right with God. And
so, we'll all have to do that, just die out to ourself.
And that's getting God's way. Now, there's only two ways of anything:
That's the right way and the wrong way. And them
ways are your ways and God's way. And you can't be in your way and
God's way at the same time. You've got to forget your own way to get in
God's way. And you got to get out of your own way to get in God's way.
For as long as you're in your own way, you're out
of His way. So forsake your way, forsake your thoughts, forsake
everything, and just rely one thing, on THUS SAITH THE LORD. That's all.
Then you know you're right. 12. Though you can't see it, none of the
senses will say it's right, every one of them will say it's
wrong; but you know it's right because God said so. That's what makes it right.
Now, that's... His provided way has been His Word; it is His Word. God's
provided way for the human to live is not by your senses; it's by His Word.
In
1963 I believe it was, brother Vayle preached a Message at the Tabernacle where
he spoke on 1 John 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his
seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
He
spoke about how the Scofield Bible shows that the word "commit" was
translated from a Greek word which actually means, to "initiate". Whosoever is born of God doth not initiate sin; for
his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. In
other words, you don't go out looking to do it, but sometimes you just get
trapped into it. And don't ever think you are without sin, for John said in, 1
John
1 John 1:8-10 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive only
ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our
sins, (and that is the key, if we
confess out sins) he is faithful and just to forgive
us our sins, and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and
his word is not in us.
So
the truth of the matter is, as brother Branham said, "no man is
sinless except for the only begotten Son of God", But we are
righteous, because we are in Him. And being in Him gives us His Spirit, and His
right-Wise-ness, through His Word.
Now,
we noticed in the quote of brother Branham's that we read tonight that we can
not depend on ourselves, but on what He did for us, but that doesn't mean that
we have liberty to go out and continue in sin, " He that sins willfully after he receive the knowledge of the truth, there
remaineth no more sacrifice for sin."
And
as brother Branham said, "As long as you
desire to sin, the desire of sin's still in your heart, then it's time to stay down at the altar till that thing's
taken out. Now you will sin. You're bound to sin 'cause you just can't help
it, but not willful sin.
So we find the key is the words "willful sin." Is our sin, or unbelief
willful? Or did we somehow get trapped into a situation where we fell?
Now, the scripture says, 1 John
But
according to the continuity of all Scripture it should read, We know that whosoever is
born of God does not initiate sin. Doesn't go
looking for it. Doesn't plot and plan to do it, and then say God will
forgive me. A person who would do such is a sinner and knows not God.
1 John
Why
Because Genesis
Ezekiel 33:8 When
I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt
surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked
man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
So
a Pastor sometimes has to say things to warn the people, and it is not always
pleasant the way he says it, but sons of God are led by the Spirit of God. I
heard brother Branham the other morning on a tape really hit something very
hard and then he told the people, he said it exactly the way God told him to
say it. But sometimes it is said to work a godly sorrow into the hearer, that it might cleanse and bring forth a righteous
living.
2 Corinthians
2 Peter
Titus 2:14 Who
gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto
himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
Revelation 18:5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God
hath remembered her iniquities.
Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye
that work iniquity.
Let
s bow our heads in prayer. dear Father we now change the order of service to
prayer and as we go to our knees to pray, we pray as David did, "search me oh God and try me, and see if there be any wicked
way in me, and purge me." And in our prayer we are hoping and
trusting that you will hear our petitions, for we ask it in Jesus Christ name,
amen.
