The
Attributes of a Son of God no 4
March 13, 2013
Brian Kocourek
Tonight since I am battling Satan for
my health, So I will go right to the sixth attribute
of the sons of God.
The Sixth attribute of a Son of God: Receive the Mark of God, the
Seal of God in their forehead, in their minds, and in their hands or their
actions.
Now, brother Branham
said the Mark of God is the seal of God which is the Holy Ghost. And if you do
not have the Holy Ghost how can you call yourself a son of the God when God is
the Holy Ghost?
Questions
and answers COD 64-0830M P:44 Who sigh and cry for the abominations
that's did in the city... Where do you see that? I can show you ten thousand
speaking in tongues to one that's really burdened for sin... That can't even
pray a hour. But did you know the Bible said to mark
only those who sighed and cried for the abominations in the city? How many ever
read it? Sure. That was the Holy Spirit come forth to mark the people, and said
to the destroying Angel, "Go forth and destroy everything that doesn't
have that mark upon them." And the mark of God is the Holy Ghost; is a
Seal of God. Now, where is them people that's that
interested? I can show you people that jump up-and-down and cry in a church; I
can show you people that shout and run all over the building; I can show you
people that prophesy, and it comes to pass; I can show you those who speak in
tongues, and run up and down the buildings, and say things that actually
interpret and it comes to pass; but where is that person that sighs and
cries for the abominations that's did in the city? Where's
that burdened soul? You could turn some new leaves on that.
See what I mean?
In John 6:27 we see where God sealed Jesus with the Holy Ghost, and if we
are to be conformed to the image oft he fist born son, and in fact if we are to
be children of God then we must have the Holy Ghost, the Holy Spirit, which is
the God-Life in us or we are not sons. Labor not for the
meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall
give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
Romans 8:9
But ye are not in the
flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if
any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of
his.
And therefore without the Holy Spirit
you are not sealed.
Ephesians 4:30 And grieve not the holy
Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
I do not know how to emphasize enough
the importance of receiving the Holy Ghost, and I want you to know there are
many people who think they have it because they believe.
But to just believe
doesn't even mean you are saved. In this next quote look how brother
Branham says until God confirms your belief you are still lost.
Preparation
53-1111 P:30 The people say, "Well now, Brother Branham, when I
believe, that settles it." No, it doesn't. There has to be a
transaction of God there in a confirmation of your faith, giving you a
new birth. I'm just so sick and tired of seeing people thumbing their
way to heaven. They just say, "You believe that?" "Uh-huh.
You believe that." "You believe that?" That's hitchhikers.
Brother, God ain't got such things as that. A
man's got to be born of the Spirit of God a regenerated and made a new
creature, or he's lost. That's all. That's exactly right. We got to
believe it. We got to accept it. You say, "Well, if I believe, that
settles it." No, it doesn't." 31 I told you
the other night that Cain was a believer. And I'll give you a little
stronger meat than that tonight if you want to believe it. The devil is a
believer. The Bible says he is. He believes and trembles. The devil is a
believer. Now, if belief and faith in God is all you have to have to be
saved, then the devil's saved according to the Word of
God. That's right. But, brother, it's got to take the Holy Spirit, a new
birth, a regeneration, a new creature in Christ Jesus.
When God comes down and puts His Spirit into you, then you're no more your
own, but you're God's.
So we see that there must be a
confirmation of your faith, which is when God fills you with his Spirit after
you have believed. And as Mary, you receive that overshadowing or supernatural
influence upon your life, and that influence brings with it a new life within
you. One that reflects his Divine Nature.
2 Peter 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto
us all things that pertain unto life and godlikeness,
through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 4 Whereby are given unto us
exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers
of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world
through lust.
So we see the Divine
nature comes with receiving His Divine Power or Spirit.
Ye must
be born again 58-0619B P:14 Then if I am saved, then I live like I'm
saved. But I could live like I was saved and not be saved. See? So it's the
fact then brings it to this spot, that we must be borned again. So the born again experience tells what we
are. It doesn't mean that we... I believe in shouting and all the
manifestations and demonstrations of the Spirit, but yet that's not it yet.
See? It's something different from that. It's a new creature, something in
the heart. And I wonder if we ministers, both man and women, if many times
we don't just say the word, "You must be born again," and take it over the head of the people like that. When
we've got to come back to the spot and let them know what a birth means. See?
It's got to come back to something more than words; it's got to come back to a
fundamental fact, and that is this great experience of being born again and
what it produces for us. See?
Hebrews
Chapter 6 57-0908E P:26 Now, you can be all worked up in emotion by
speaking in tongues, shouting, jerking, shaking, running up and down the aisle.
Nothing against that, but you can make yourself believe that you're saved
when you're not. You're not saved; your life will prove what you are.
Jesus said it would, "By their fruits you shall know them." Your life will prove whether
you're saved or not, if you never open your mouth. It'll prove what you are.
But all this workup, and emotion, and joining church, and
"I been baptized in Jesus' Name. Hallelujah, I know I got It," that doesn't mean nothing."
So we see that Brother
Branham tells us in his sermon God's provided way
fellowship 60-0709 P:101 And we realize
that the baptism of the Holy Ghost is the seal of God. For it is written
in Ephesians 4:30 "Grieve not the holy
Spirit of God whereby you're sealed until the day of your redemption."
And that is why Paul ties our having
the seal of God with our being His.
2 Timothy 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
Now, notice that Paul tells us that
the foundation of God stands sure, and then he says, Having this seal, the Lord
knows them who are his.
Now, this knowing is not just a
mental recognition, but it was translated as the word know
from the Greek word, Ginosko.
Now this word Ginosko
is the same word that Mary used when she said, Luke 1:34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall
this be, seeing I know not a man? Seeing I Ginosko not any man. and so we see that this knowing has to do with more than
just a mental recognition, because you can't get pregnant by just a mental
recognition. And so since God is not a man, We find
the angel telling her how it will be. 35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The
Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest
shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be
born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
Now, when the angel tells her the
Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, the word upon, was translated from the Greek
word epi which is a primary preposition which denoting
rest. The Holy Ghost will rest upon thee. And the word overshadow was
translated from the word epi-skiazo which means to envelop in a haze of brilliancy; figuratively, to
invest with preternatural influence:
So really what took place in Mary is
supposed to take place in every son of God. When we receive the Holy Ghost it
must rest upon us, and then by overshadowing us brings a supernatural influence
upon us, and with it the Life of God is injected into us, and should bring
forth another son or daughter of God no different than it did with her.
Influence
64-0315 P:57 Jesus
promised them that He would send the promise of the Father upon them (Luke 24:49), "Behold I send the promise of My Father upon
you. But tarry ye..."
"Tarry" don't mean pray; it just
means "wait." "Tarry" means wait.
"Wait up there at the city of Jerusalem until you're endued with power
from on high." And when this influence of the Holy Ghost struck
them, it filled them. They seen the Word that Jesus promised fulfilled. Now,
I wonder if it would take the same influence on us this afternoon. If we seen
what He promised to do in the last days fulfilled, what kind of an influence
would it give us? What? All we have seen done in these last days ought
to put us in action. It sure ought to, with reverence and humility.
So we see this seal of God is the
Mark of God, which is the Holy Ghost, and it is the confirmation that you have
heard, and you have recognized, and you have acted upon the word of God.
Jesus Christ the same yesterday 52-0810E P:65 A man can make any kind of a claim, but
until God confirms it, it's no good.
And so we see Paul ask the brethren if their Faith, their
belief had been confirmed to them in the book of Acts.
Acts 19:1 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the
upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, 2 He
said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And
they said unto him, We have not so much as heard
whether there be any Holy Ghost. 3 And he said unto them, Unto
what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. 4 Then
said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the
people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is,
on Christ Jesus. 5 When they heard this,
they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 And when
Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost
came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. 7 And
all the men were about twelve.
God's
way made for us 52-0900 P:67 God has a provided way. Are you in It tonight? Have you received the Holy Ghost since you
believed? Now, you good Baptist friends of mine, and know that I
belonged... I was a Baptist,
and my pastor here is a Baptist. But I want to tell you something. Acts 19 says, "Have you received the Holy Ghost since ye
believed?" Not
"when" you believed, but "since" you
believed. Yes, sir. If you haven't, It's for you
tonight. God has a provided way.
Now, notice he calls
those who think that when they believe they receive the Holy Ghost, he calls
them Baptists for that is what they are. And he said God has a provided way, and
you must come God's provided way or you don't come at all. So those who think
they got it when they believed, have come up short, and need to seek God for
the Holy Ghost.
Because the Holy Ghost
is the seal of God, it is the confirmation that you are one of His as the
Scripture teaches us in Romans 8:9 Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none
of his
And brother Branham in
his sermon Mark of the beast 61-0217 P:55 said, "What
is the Seal of God? What is the Seal of God? Ephesians
4:30. "Grieve
not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed until the day that the church
is redeemed up into glory." Now, again,
we'll pull another Scripture, Ephesians 1:13, Paul speaking. Galatians
1:8 said, "If a angel from heaven, come
preached anything else, let him be accursed."
Yes. "After you believe, ye were sealed with the Holy Ghost of promise.
After you believed, you..."Now, Baptist brother, Presbyterian, let me
ask you something. You say you receive the Holy Ghost when you believe.
Paul said, "After ye believed, you were sealed with the Holy
Ghost," afterwards. Acts 19, Paul met some Baptists, Apollos,
a converted lawyer, one of John's disciples, up there preaching the Gospel and
having great joy, and shouting and praising God; still they didn't have the
Holy Ghost. Paul come over, and stayed all night with Aquila
and Priscilla, had been in jail for preaching the Gospel and casting a devil
out of a girl. And then he come on over to where they were at. And they took
him up to the, 'cause they were tent makers he abode with them, then they went up to where Apollos
was having this meeting. After the service was over, Paul said to them, "Have you received the Holy Ghost since ye believed?"
Presuming
62-0610M P:15 Now. We find out that Paul, passing through the upper coast
of Ephesus, he finds certain disciples. They were rejoicing, happy. He said
unto them, "Have
you received the Holy Ghost since ye believed?" Wasn't that a knockout to the
Baptists? See? The Baptist says you receive the Holy Ghost when you
believe, and that's exactly what their first beginners are. That's what Apollos... He said... He thought they
already, everything's all right. He said they was shouting and having a great
time. Paul said, that's all right." Aquila and Priscilla had done told them, "We got a
little Brother Paul. But when he comes up, he will teach the Word of God to you
more plainer."
Now, one thing concerning this mark
of God, or the Baptism of the Holy Ghost is that your Spirit within you just
can not condone the things of the Word.
1 John 2:15
Love not the world,
neither the things that are in the world. If any man love
the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
So we see in the book of Ezekiel 9:4 "And the LORD said unto him, Go through the
midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the
foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that
be done in the midst thereof."
Expectations
61-0308 P:80 Clergymen,
could you mark out on your hands ten people tonight in this city that's sighing
and crying, day and night, for the wickedness and things that's done in the
city? Does anybody in this audience know where you could put your fingers on
five people that sigh and cry day and night for the sins and things of the city?
Well now, the Bible said set a mark upon those who sigh and cry for the
abomination did in the city. That's right. That's it. See? No more burden for
lost souls; it's all gone. We've--we've joined church and settled down.
"That's all that's necessary." See? That's how we get... It's so...
Sin is so sneaky, and it sneaks right up on you before you know it. See?
Let me just read a few more
Scriptures concerning the mark of God or the seal of God.
Revelations 15:2 And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled
with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his
image, and over his mark, and over the
number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.
Revelations 9:4 And it was commanded them that they should not hurt
the grass of the earth,
neither any
green thing,
neither any tree; but only
those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.
And don't forget that the seal of God
in your forehead means in your thoughts, and in your hand means in your actions.
Mark of
the beast 54-0513 P:74 Now, you see what the mark of the beast is?
It's the mark of apostasy. It's a person who just thinks that, "Well,
I belong to church, and I'm just as good as the next fellow. Am not I belonging
to this church?" And you realize where your church organization that
you're depending on, where it come from? Do you realize? The Bible said, "He that worships the beast, receives his
mark, or the letter of his name (Now, watch.) in forehead or hand." That's knowledge or
deed. That don't mean you got a big tattoo on your face. It don't have to be that. It's not talking of the outward.
It's talking of spiritual. You watch him and see what he knows about the
Scripture. Listen to him and see where he goes to. "If any man don't have this doctrine, there's no Light in him,"
the Bible said. See? See? Watch where it goes to.
Watch what he does. You say, "Well, I belong. I'm Protestant. Yes, sir. I
belong to this certain church. Yes, sir." And on
Sunday you just have about enough respect for it to come in out of the rain. He
goes down, instead of going to prayer meeting, you'll close up the church
and set and watch television. He goes out here and he drinks and carries on
and acts like the rest of the world, yet he belongs to the church. Remember, that's
the mark of sin.
O, brother, How
many people right in this Message, or at least claiming to be in this Message
doesn't already have that mark.
Ten
virgins 60-1211M P:128 Now, the Seal of God is the Holy Spirit.
All know that, don't you? All right, we all know that, that the Seal of God is
the Holy Spirit. Now, that's found... You take Revelation 9:1 to 4, you'll find that they all had the seal in
their forehead. I
Corinthians 1:22,
Paul said, "Whereby
He has sealed us by His Holy Spirit until the day..." Ephesians 4:30, says, "Grieve not the Holy Spirit," that's that Angel that come forth
sealing upon their forehead. Now, that doesn't mean you... He takes and puts a
spot up there. Your forehead is your revelation (See?), and your hand
is the thing you do about it. See, it's a spiritual mark. See? He don't take a big stamp and stamp you like that. Oh, no.
So then the mark of God is the
baptism of the Holy Ghost and it gives you a True Revelation and your actions
prove that you have received this revelation from God. 2 Timothy 4:8 Henceforth there is
laid up for me a crown of right-wise-ness, which the Lord, the righteous
judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also
that love his appearing.
Is
your life worthy 63-0630E P:38 Now, somebody said, "Now, there's
going to be a mark of the beast; it's going to come someday." Let me tell
you; it's already come. See? As soon as the Holy Ghost begin to fall, the mark of the beast begin to take place.
See, you only have two things: One of them is, accept It,
takes the Seal of God; to reject It, takes the mark of the beast. To
reject the Seal of God is to take the mark of the beast. Everybody
understand? To reject the Seal of God is to take the mark of the beast,
for the Bible said all that was not sealed by the Seal of God took the mark of
the beast. When the trumpet sounded and all wanted to go free could go, them
that didn't was marked. Now, you see, the mark of the beast, if we talk
about it in the future, is when it's going to be made manifest, when you
realize it's what you've already done. See? And so is the Holy Spirit; It's
to be manifested when we see the Lord Jesus coming in glory, and feel that
transforming power, and see the dead rising out of the grave, and know that in
a second longer we'll be changed and have a body like His. It'll be made
manifest. Then to see those who rejected it, will be left down, out.
Now, that takes us to the Sixth
attribute of Serpent Seed which is to: Receive the Mark of the Beast, the mark of
Cain. in their forehead and hands.
And
remember that marks is not in the future, it has been
since the day when Cain went out from the presence of the Lord.
Genesis
4:15 And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever
slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him
sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him
should kill him. 16 And Cain went out from the presence of the
LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.
Notice immediately after receiving
the Mark of the beast, Cain went out from the presence of the Lord. Also
remember Cain was son of the beast so it had to be the mark of the beast. And
notice he was produced by a disobedient act, so he was a child of disobedience.
True
Easter Seal 61-0402 P:113 And Satan's sons will be sealed in this
last days. There's a time now, that the Bible
spoke of, that all that did not have the Seal of God took the mark of the
beast. And we know that the mark of the beast is disbelief. The
first time... "Where'd you say the mark of the beast
begin?" In the garden of Eden. Mark of the beast and the
Seal of God was performed in the garden of Eden. Exactly. It's performed through Easter, for the death of
Abel brought forth Seth. That's right. Notice. Cain
was the son of Satan. He was the son of the beast which beguiled Eve. You can
call it whatever you want to. He was the son of Satan. And what did he do? God
put a mark on him and sent him out from the Presence of God. Is that right? And
he got him a wife, not out of the heritage of God, but got him a wife from the
land of Nod, another land.
Revelations
14:9-11 And the third
angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and
his image, and receive his mark in his forehead,
or in his hand, 10 The same shall drink of the
wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of
his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the
presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: 11 And
the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and
ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image,
and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
Revelations
16:2 And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and
there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of
the beast, and upon them which worshipped his
image.
Let
us pray...
