Desperation no 40

Watch for the Kingdom

July24, 2016

Brian Kocourek, pastor

This morning we will begin moving into the conclusion of this Message by Brother Branham concerning his sermon Desperation. I do not know how many sermons we will have yet to come in this series on Desperation but we will begin the countdown to the end by reading from Paragraph 104.

104 Let us pray. In desperation watch for the Kingdom of God; It'll come upon you. Our heavenly Father, I pray Thee in Jesus' Name, be merciful unto us, Lord. And start in us a desperation.

Now, before we go any further let me say, that brother Branham is speaking here of watching for the kingdom, and Jesus told us the Kingdom of God was not of somewhere in a distant place, but in Luke 17 he told us "the Kingdom of God is within you".

Luke 17:20  And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:  21  Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

So what we'll be examining this morning is what it means to watch for the Kingdom of God, because he said it comes not by watch8ing with the eyes. But he also said it is within you, and we know where there as a kingdom, there must be a King. So please keep that in mind throughout the entire sermon this morning.

Now, let's continue reading, "Oh, Lord God, have mercy upon us; I pray, and let the people seek Thee tonight with desperate hearts.

And then he acknowledges God's Presence here with us when he says,  We know You're here, Lord.

And then he says,  You're the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Notice if He is the same yesterday, today and forever, then we can expect Him to act the same way as He did yesterday.

And now, may these people who has the Token,

That's those who have received the baptism of the Holy Spirit,...and remember a holy Spirit acts, talks and lives Holy. By their fruits you shall know them.  And then he says...

that they've ( the they he is referring to here are those who have the Holy Spirit, and thus live a Holy Life have already) passed from death unto Life, they've changed from the old worldly life to a new one... They have... The Blood has been applied and God give them a Token sign.

So, what are these token signs? Or to put it in another way, what are these signs that you have received the Token.

Well, Jesus said in Mark 16:17 "these signs shall follow them that believe"; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

Notice then Jesus says there are signs of being a believer. So what does it mean to be a Believer? Well, to be a believer you must have the Token, you must have the Holy Spirit. And these are signs that you have the Holy Spirit, for they are signs of Life, the very Life that was in Christ is now in you.

Now notice this sign of speaking in tongues he mentions although it is a sign a believer may possess, yet it is not for the believer. Just like Br. Branham's gift of healing was not for himself.

Paul said in 1 Corinthians 14:22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying (or to preach the Word of God in such a way as to declare what is to come before it actually takes place) serveth not for them that believe not, (it's not for the unbeliever) but for them which believe.  18  They shall take up serpents; (like when Paul was bitten by a snake when he was adding sticks to the fire and he just shook it off into the fire) and if they drink any deadly thing, (that is poisons in the water) it shall not hurt them; (And we need to start believing this for this is the hour that all our waters are being poisoned as in no other age before,) they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. We must also put this into practice in our homes, and we will if we are believers.

In his sermon, Greatest news flash in history 61-0424 P:11 Brother Branham is quoting this Scripture and says,  "These signs shall follow them that believe." Now, if you say you are a believer and those signs does not follow you, then you either have told something wrong, or say that He said something wrong. For Jesus said, "These signs shall follow the believer; In My Name they shall cast out devils, speak with new tongues." If they had been poisoned, drink a deadly thing, it would not harm them. "If they lay hands on the sick, they shall recover." Signs of that type follows the believer. And that's who He appears to: to the believer; so therefore, them signs follow the believer.

Spiritual Amnesia 64-0411 P:39 Don't get spiritual amnesia, 'cause you'll identify yourself with something else. Stay right with that Word. We was with the church when it was commissioned by Jesus Christ in Acts the 16th chapter, "Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature." I want to be identified there: "All the world, to every creature, these signs shall follow them that believe." Can be identified in that...Well, now, are you identified with that? Or have you got some spiritual amnesia, that you find out you don't believe those signs follow the believers? See, if you don't believe it, then you have spiritual amnesia. See, you've forgotten that God promised that. He said, "These signs shall follow them that believe." Don't forget it. You can't forget it and be a Christian. You must be identified with it.

Wisdom verses faith 62-0401 P:163 Now, how can the Holy Spirit signs of Eternal Life grow in that ecclesiastical dust, where there is no spirit of water at all? See? Can't grow in the fields of denominational fun, and wisdom, and frolic. How can signs and wonders of the Living God grow in a woman that hasn't the common decency to act like a lady? I want to ask you that. How can it grow in a man that'd stand in the pulpit and for a measly meal ticket, or some denominational favor, would bypass the Truth of God? How can spiritual signs follow that? Can't do it.

Perfect faith 63-0825E P:30 Now, the identification of a Scripture Christian, these Words said Jesus: "These signs shall follow them that believe." Now, how can you call yourself a believer, a people, and deny those Words? How can you call yourself a believer and deny any of this Word? See? You can't do it. You're not a believer; there-fore signs can't follow you, because you just accept what you want to believe and let the rest of It that you would, don't believe It. But you've got to take the whole thing and believe It. And when you truly believe (not make believe, but really believe), then these signs follow them that believe. Oh, could you compare a Christian today with them Christians of long ago? How them disciples walked in the power of the Spirit, moved by the Holy Ghost to go, just a prisoner, as I preached on the other night, a prisoner to the Word and will of God; he couldn't even move until God moved him. Wouldn't you like to see a church rise like that? It's going to; going back. Yes, it's got to come. That's right. It's go... It's on its road now, I believe.

Brother Branham continues by quoting the apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 2:4 I never come to you with wisdom of men, enticing words, that your faith would be built upon the wisdom of men, but I come to you with the power and demonstration of the Holy Ghost, that your faith could be built in God.

And brother Branham taught us that Paul was the pattern for every true five fold minister.

Church Age Book  Chapter 3 - The Ephesian Church Age P:21  His manner of ministering set the pattern that all future messengers were to aspire to, and actually sets the pattern for every true minister of God, though he would not attain to such heights in the prophetic realm as did Paul.

It wasn't so from the beginning 61-0411 P:54 The Gospel never come by word only, but through the power and manifestations of the Holy Ghost. Jesus said, "Go into all the world and preach the Gospel. These signs shall follow them that believe." Takes more than just teaching a word; it takes a manifestation of that word to make these signs follow (That's right.), God manifesting Himself.

Satan's Eden 65-0829 P:52 "He that believeth on Jesus Christ shall not be condemned (See?), but these signs shall follow them that believe." See, he fails to put that in there. See? She believed on Jesus Christ. She's saved, if these signs follow the believer. "And he that heareth My Word," not just make something, not hear It with his ears, but understand it... Anybody can hear it. A prostitute can hear It and remain a prostitute. See? A drunkard can hear It. A liar can hear It, and still remain a liar, but, "He that understandeth My Word, and believeth on Him that sent Me has Everlasting Life." There you are. See? And no man can do that except God foreordained him. Jesus said, "No man can come to Me, except my Father draws him, and all the Father's given to Me will come to Me." Amen. It's all the sovereignty and foreknowledge of God. He lives alone, and there's nobody tells Him what to do.

As I was with Moses 60-0911M P:21 We find also that Joshua, knowing this commission, knowing that it laid in his hand, that God had called him for a duty that he must not fail, he walked softly before God. And when he called the people together and told them that God had commissioned him, watch the request of the people. They said, "We'll follow you as we did Moses; if we can see the same thing that followed Moses, following you. Only be strong and courageous." That ought to be the requirement of every borned again person today. If we're requested to follow; then let's see the signs follow the believer, as Jesus said, "The things that I do, shall you do also."

Now, that's John 14:12 and yet we see brother Branham call that a sign of the believer.

Does God change His mind 65-0427 P:35 Jesus said, in Saint John 14:12, "He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also." Is that right? He promised in Mark 16, "These signs shall follow them that believe."They say, "Well, that was just for the apostles." (but) He said, "Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature. These signs shall follow them in all the world, and to every creature. In My Name they shall cast out devils. They shall speak with new tongues. If they take up serpents, or drink deadly things, it wouldn't harm them. If they lay their hands on the sick, they shall recover." Now, that is His qualification. See, we try to qualify something. We are trying to qualify the church to what we think God's Word is. We can't qualify to the church. We've got to qualify to God.

Proving His Word 64-0816 P:110 Mark 16, He said, "Go ye into all the world, preach the Gospel to every creature." How far? All the world. Who? Every creature. "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved. He that believeth not shall be damned, and these signs shall follow them that believe." He said in Mark 4, He said in John 14:12, also He said, "He that believeth on Me (not make-believeth), but He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also." It taken the same Spirit that was in Him to do that same work.

But from the beginning it was not so 58-1002 P:48 "Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature." How far? All the world. To who? Every creature. "These signs shall follow them that believe." That was what was the beginning. Anything contrary to that is not right. You don't find it in creeds; you find it in Christ. He's the only One. You say, "Brother Branham, the Bible says that..."What did it say, "In My Name they shall cast out devils; they shall speak with new languages, tongues. And if they take up serpents or drink deadly things it shall not harm them. If they lay hands on the sick, they shall recover." That's what the Scripture said. Anything contrary to That...You say, "These signs follow them. He's a good old man; he pays his tithes; he works good; he treats his neighbor right." If that's all it took, Christ didn't have to die. It takes a personal experience of passing from death unto life and becoming a new creature in Christ Jesus with Christ in the heart. That's the Holy Spirit. That's where it began.

Explaining healing and Jairus 54-0216 P:43 These signs shall follow them that believe."And Father, today, as teachers try to say, "It was just for them people."...And You said Yourself, it was to be to all the world. And the Gospel has not yet gone to all the world. The signs follow the believers as long as there's a world.

Ok, so we are all aware of these signs, but what other signs are there of a believer?

Unfailing realities of God 60-0626 P:93 Plant your foundation in Christ Jesus. Be sure that it's in Him. How do you get in Him? By shaking hands, by sprinkling, by any, what? "By One Spirit (I Corinthians 12) we are all baptized into one body, one Holy Spirit." Baptized into one Body, where nine spiritual gifts and four spiritual offices lay in that one body. In there God has set in the church, apostles, prophets, and so forth, in this church. In there there's gifts of healing, miracles, speaking in tongues, wisdom, knowledge, those are things the signs that follow the believer.

Awakening Jesus 63-0117 P:70 You say, "How can this be, Brother Branham?" St. John the 14th chapter, 12th verse, said that He'd prove it. See, "He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also."You say, "I wish you could prove and show me that He is just as He always was. If you could prove it to me..."Well, here's where He challenged the proof. "He that believeth on me, the things that I do..." In other words, you will be an amateur Messiah, Messiahette. That's exactly right. For if His life be in you; it ain't you; it's Him. See? And you are ordained to carry His work on. "He that believeth on Me, I'll prove that I am Messiah. And He that believeth on me will do the same thing." Now, He can't lie...

God identified by characteristics 64-0311 P:22 John 14:12, "He that believeth," Jesus said, "on Me, the works that I do shall he do also." Now, look, "He that believeth on Me (a true believer), the works that I do shall he do also." Notice. In other words, like this, "He that believeth on Me, shall be identified by My characteristic, the works." Now, that's what He did. He said, "If I don't do the Father's works, then don't believe Me." And the Father spoke to the prophets, and that was their characteristic, identification. So was it with Jesus. And promised it to him that believeth, "My characteristics shall do in him just as it did in Me. And if I do not the works of My Father, then don't believe Me. But if I do the works, and you can't believe Me, then believe the works, because it's spoken of; it must be."He said, "Search the Scriptures, for in Them you think you have Eternal Life, and They are They that tell you Who I am." That was Jesus (See?), God manifested, showing Himself. "They testify Who I am." That makes Hebrews 1:1 now, "God in sundry times spake by the prophets," clearly identifying the characteristic now of the resurrection of His Son. God spoke by the prophets then, through His Son now. The unchangeable God, the same characteristic, "The works that I do, shall you do also." God's known by His identified characteristic. That's how you know. You say, "Well, I tell you this; we sing this, we do this, and we do." That's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about the Word made manifest and identifying this Life, the characteristics of the promised Word for the age. Them Pharisees knowed that Bible as good as anybody, better than any of us clergymen know ours today. They had to live by It. Their great-great-grandfather were priests. They studied It, day and night, and they failed to see that identified Word.

Uncertain sound 62-0714 P:91 Listen. Jesus said, the Bible, Christ, in John 14:12, "He that believeth on Me (not make-believeth), but... he that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he also..." Shall, not perhaps, will, ought to. He shall do it. Nothing uncertain about that. He said they shall. What kind of works did He do? What kind of works did He show? What was He called by? A devil for doing it. "If they call the Master of the house Beelzebub, how much more will they call them of His disciples?" No uncertainty, He said, "If he that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also." Nothing uncertain...Again, He said in Saint John, "If ye abide in Me, and My Word abide in you, then ask what you may, and it'll be done for you." Not no uncertain, "It shall be given you. It shall be done: Nothing uncertain. Oh, let's crawl out of that turtle shell.

Wisdom verses faith 62-0401 P:143 Brings forth fruits of its kind, John 14 says that: "He that doeth My"--"he that believeth on Me, the works" (the signs that I do)..."Now, you say, "Is that the signs He does?" ....He didn't have to pray; He was the Word. I don't have to pray, if I can see the vision, 'cause the Word's already made ready. I have to pray to get the Word, get what God says, then I can speak It after I get what He says. But He was the Word. Amen!"Maid, I say unto thee, arise." Picked her up by the hand. That's it. See? Oh my, that's manifestation, brings forth of its kind. esus said, "He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also."

It is I 60-1124 P:28 The works that He did, they did also. He told them in Saint John 14:12, I believe it is, He said, "He that believeth on Me, the works that I do, shall he do also. A little while, and the world won't see Me no more, yet ye shall see Me ('Ye,' the church, the believer.). Ye shall see Me."He promised that He'd be with them always even to the end of the world. "I'll never leave you or forsake you. Go ye in all the world and preach the Gospel." How far? "All the world." How, who to? "Every creature. These signs shall follow them that believe." He's still the same Christ.

Questions and answers COD 59-0628E P:27 Now, the Scripture says that no man can say Jesus is the Christ only by the Holy Ghost. So you cannot believe that Jesus is the Christ until you have received the baptism of the Holy Ghost. You're only testifying or saying what the Scripture says, saying what the pastor says, saying what mother says, or some good preacher says. But you don't know it yourself until He has witnessed His resurrection to you. And no man can call Jesus the Christ until by the Holy Ghost.

And I will tell you one more thing you cannot do without the Holy Ghost. You can't even understand the Scriptures. You cannot understand the things of God, unless you have the Holy Ghost, and He reveals it to you.

1 Corinthians 2:9  But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 10  But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 11  For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God knows. (Therefore, unless you have the Spirit of God in you , you will never understand the things of God). 12  Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 13  Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14  But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15  But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.  16  For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

And you can never have the mind of Christ unless you have the very life of Christ, the Spirit of Christ living and abiding in you.

Go wake Jesus 63-1103 P:68 People today say how could I believe that He is the same yesterday, today, and forever? Remember, He promised in the book of Hebrews that He was the same yesterday, today, and forever. He promised also in the book of St. John... The 14th chapter of St. John, 12th verse, He said, "He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also. The things that I live... That the Father lives in Me, as Me being the Son of God... As I adopt you My Spirit will be in you and do the same things." Certainly. That's only natural. Again, He said, "Lo, I'm with you always, even till the end of the world." Matthew 28:20. "Lo, I'm with you always, even to the end of the earth. I am with you. A little while," He said again, "and the world seeth Me no more; yet ye shall see Me: for I ('I' is another personal pronoun. See?), I will be with you, even in you to the end of the world". "The works that I do shall you do also." There you are. That's exactly how you would know it. Oh, again, "I will never leave you nor forsake you."You say, "How can that be? how can it be proven?"John 14:12. See? "The works that I do shall you do also."

Uncertain sound 62-0714 P:107 Jesus said, "He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he also." Nothing uncertain about that. "These signs shall follow them that believe." That's right. "He that believeth on Me, though he were dead yet shall he live, and whosoever liveth and believeth in Me shall never die." Nothing uncertain about that. Resurrection is sure. Right."He that eats My flesh and drinks My Blood has Everlasting Life, and I'll raise him up at the last day". But "He that eats and drinks It unworthily, eats and drinks damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's Body." No uncertainty about any of it. Right. If you eat it worthily, walking in the Word, in the faith, God promised the resurrection. If you eat it unworthy, you're dead right then when you're living. The Bible said the woman that lives in pleasure is dead while she's alive. Exactly. The Bible said that. That's the infinite Word of God. It can't change. Certainly.

In his sermon Manifested sons of God 60-0518 P:93 brother Branham is speaking about the adoption of sons, and he says,  "Oh," He said, "You know what, Father? Your son is just like a chip off the old block. He is absolutely, exactly like You. Every Word that You say, he says 'amen' to It. I had him turn over in the Bible the other day, and It said, 'Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever.' You know what he said? He screamed and throwed his hands up in the air, and he said, 'Hallelujah, amen.' Oh. And you know It said here, in Your Word, you know, here where You said, 'The works... He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also'?" "Yeah, I remember writing that to My son. Yeah, I remember writing that." "Oh, when he saw that, he just screamed and jumped up and down, hollering, 'Hallelujah, Lord. Take all the world out of me. Make me like that.' Yes, Sir. And all those things that he done...""Oh," the Father said, "It's time. I'm happy for that son. That's a fine son. All right. Keep a eye on him for a few years; see how he comes on, how he progresses."

Well, are you at that point yet?

Why cry speak 59-1004E P:29 Jesus said, "The works that I do, he that believeth on Me..." Saint John 14:12, "He that believeth on Me the works that I do shall he do also. He that believeth on Me..." No man can believe Jesus Christ to be the Son of God until he's received the Holy Ghost. You're only taking it by faith and accepting it. You can't say that it is. You can say, "I believe it is." But no man can call Jesus the Christ until the Holy Ghost is in him. The Bible said so. The Holy Spirit has to come in first, then It gives a witness. You know yourself that Jesus is the Christ because He lives in you.

And that is what Paul meant when he said, Romans 8:16 The Spirit (and there is only one THE SPIRIT and that is The Spirit of God, and Paul says here) The Spirit Itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

Now we read that wrong, we read it that our spirit wil bear witness to God's Spirit and that is not what it says. It says God's Spirit will bear witness to your Spirit if you truly are a son, the right kind of a son which ie led by His Spirit, and how will he bear witness with our Spirit? well, he will reveal Himself in you, living and speaking and acting like he did. There will be a joint testimony, because you will be saying what the Father says. "God says and his sons say." Jesus said "the son can of himself do nothing, whatsoever the Father doeth and speaketh that doeth and speaketh the son likewise."  In the Book of revelations we are told, "The Spirit and the Bride say come." So what the Spirit says the bride says.

And brother Branham said in his sermon,  Spoken word original seed 62-0318E P:175

Notice, what harmony. Jesus never did anything until seen of the Father or the Father showed Him first: (Harmony between God and Christ. See? John 5:19) So will the Bride, and He shows Her His Word of Life (He shows Her), and she receives It. She never doubts it. Nothing can harm Her, not even death; for if the Seed be planted, the water will raise it up again. Amen. (Now, I got a great big "Hallelujah.") Here is the secret: the Word is in the Bride and the mind of Christ to know what He wants done with the Word, and She does it in His Name. She has THUS SAITH THE LORD. (in other words she has what The Lord has already said.) Then it is germitized; so the Holy Spirit waters it until it is grown and serves its purpose. They do only His will. (Amen. I'll believe that.) No one can persuade them different. They have THUS SAITH THE LORD, or they keep still. Then they will do the works of God. For it is Himself in them, continuing His Word to fulfill as He did complete in His day. All things when He was here, He did not complete all when He was here, for it was not time yet.

Noticed she must have His Word living in her before she can do the works of God.

Now, to understand Romans 8:16 where he was talking about God's Spirit bearing witness to your spirit we must go back and begin reading at verse 11.

Romans 8:11  But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead (and you must understand it was God's Spirit that raised up Jesus from the dead, so) if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit (God's Spirit) that dwelleth in you.  12  Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to self, to live after self. 13  For if ye live for self, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of your self-centered body, ye shall live. 14  For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. 15  For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, our Father. 16  The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17  And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. (endaxozo together, that we may manifest the doxa of God together, that we may manifest his opinions, his values, and his judgments jointly with Him) 18  For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory (opinions, values and judgments) which shall be revealed in us. 19  For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

Now, when it says the Glory shall be revealed IN us, he is telling us that if it is revealed in us, that means it is manifested in us, because the word reveal means manifestation of Divine truth. And if it is in you and not revealed then it is not manifested. That is why this entire chapter speaks of this end-time condition of the elect of God, and how God will manifest His God Life in you as heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ.

From his sermon, Jesus of Nazareth Passeth by 58-0524 P:60 brother Branham said, "Only one way, He said, "I am the Vine. A little while..." I'll quote this verse, "A little while and the world won't see Me no more. (Now, the Greek work there is 'kosmos,' which means 'the world order.') They will see Me no more, yet ye shall see Me, (the Church), for I ('I' is a personal pronoun.), I will be with you, even in you, to the end of the world." Is that what He said, "And the works that I do, shall you do also. He that believeth on Me (not imagine he believes, but he that believeth), the works that I do, shall he also," St. John 14:12."The works that I do." What did He do? He said, "I am the Vine. You are the branches." Now, the vine doesn't bear fruit. The branch bears fruit of the vine. Is that true? If you went to a watermelon vine, it has watermelons, if it's a fertile vine. If you went to a grapevine, you'd find grapes. Pumpkin vine, you'd find pumpkins. What about when you come to church? What do you find? A bunch of people saying, "Oh, that was in day gone by."The vine still lives. If we're in Christ, the works that He does, we'll do the same thing. He said so. If that isn't true, then I couldn't believe Him.

Scriptural signs of the time 64-0410 P:21 Jesus said, "If you'd have knowed Me, you would've knowed My day." Everybody has their own interpretation. The Methodist has theirs. Baptist, Presbyterian, Pentecostal, all the rest of them has their interpretation. But the Bible says that the Word of God is no private interpretation. What is the interpretation of it then? He does His own interpreting. He said, "Let there be light," and there was light. That don't need no interpretation. He said, "A virgin shall conceive," and she did. That don't need any interpretation. He said in the last days He'd pour out His Spirit upon all flesh, and He did. That don't need no interpretation. It's already done, right in the face of the critics that said it couldn't be done. God did it anyhow, because He's interpreting His Word. He said it. "As it was in the days of Sodom, so shall it be in the end time when the Son of man is being revealed," and He did it. There's no need of any interpretation, it interprets itself. All these promises that He mad, He said, "He that believeth on me, the works that I do... The things that I do shall he do also." Don't need any interpretation. He just does it; that's all. If... "I am the Vine, and ye are the branches"  The same life as in the vine is in the branches, the same branch that come forth on the day of Pentecost.

God identifying Himself 64-0320 P:33 The pouring out of the Holy Ghost in the last days upon the common people has identified God's characteristic with the people. He promised it. It's the Word. He said He'd do it. Nobody can take it back. He said He would do it. So all these things that He's promised, that's what He does. It identifies His characteristic. Yes, sir. "Don't believe it, don't believe My claims, if My characteristic isn't that of God."Now, notice in John 14:12, "He that believeth on Me," He said, "has My identification, My characteristic. He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also." That identifies that the character of Christ is in him, displaying the characteristics of Him. Amen.

Absolute the 62-1230M P:66 Then when we know that our actions is exactly with the Word, we know our teaching is perfect with the Word, adding nothing or taking nothing, just the Word; and we see the same results that others who anchored to the same Word living up in our life, then your anchor holds. The Life of Christ being reproduced in almost an incarnate way through you as it was in Christ, because it was God in Christ reconciling the world to Himself. And you see God in yourself holding that same keel on the Word, just exactly the way Jesus did, and you see His Life..."The works that I do shall you do also. He that believeth... (Not him that maketh believe, he that thinks he believes, but he that believeth) He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he also." Why? He's anchored to the same Rock. What was the Rock? The Word, always. You're anchored there.

It is I be not afraid 62-0726 P:93 Now, the Holy Ghost is here, and Jesus said, "If I do not the works of My Father, then don't believe Me." Is that right? They couldn't believe Him, being a man, being God. They just couldn't see it, that that could be anything. Said, "You make Yourself equal to God, being the Son of God." Now, we know Jesus was Son. He said, "The Son can do nothing in Himself, but what He sees the Father doeth." Thomas said, "Show us the Father and it sufficeth us."He said, "I've been so long with you, and you don't know Me? He that seen Me hath seen the Father. It's not Me that doeth the works. It's My Father that dwelleth in Me." God is a Spirit, Jesus was the man. He was a Tabernacle that God dwelt in. See? Now, He had the Spirit without measure, like all that water out there in the sea. That was what was in Him. But in us, it's just a spoonful out of it. We got it by measure. But remember, the same chemicals that's in the whole sea is in the spoon, not as much of it, but the same kind. Amen. See? That's right. That's the reason He said, "He that believeth on Me, the works that I do, shall he do also."Now, when he showed His Messiahic sign, that was for some. (in other words, not everyone will have that. But then brother Branham said,) He was a teacher. (and we know there are teachers in the five fold ministry, but not everyone is a teacher.) Here they are. Here's different things, what all He done. Here it is represented in His church. He's here to help you, and we're here preaching the Word, doing everything we can to help you.

So John 14:12 does not means that everyone will do every single thing that Jesus did, but we will do some of the things he did, like living as he lived, and acting as he acted and speaking the words he spoke, and doing the works that he did.

Jesus was an Apostle right? An Apostle means one that is sent, and Jesus was sent by the Father so he did the work of an Apostle, and he was a Prophet and he was an Evangelist and he was a Teacher and a Pastor. The fullness of the Godhood of God was in Him. He had it all, He had every fruit of the Spirit, he had every office that was Given by God as a gift to the Church. He is our all in all. And he did it all. But you and I are limited by our foreordination to what office we may hold or not hold. We are limited to what gifts we might have, by our measure of Faith, but not Him, He had it without measure. But the works he did, the things he said, the actions he took, the life he lived and the works he did, we will do if we have the same God-Life that was living itself out in Him living itself out in us.

From his sermon, Door inside door 60-0711 P:46 brother Branham said, But when the Holy Spirit, Christ, comes in to be Lord, He will say, Hebrews 13:8, "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever." He will say, Saint John 14:12 "He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also." He will say, Mark 16 was the last commission He give to the church, "Go ye therefore in all the world, preach the Gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved. He that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe: In My name they shall cast out devils, speak with new tongues. If they take up serpents or drink deadly things it wouldn't harm them. They'll lay their hands on the sick and they shall recover." If Christ can come into the heart, come into the door of faith, He will make you believe that all things are possible to them that believe.

God identifying Himself 64-0320 P:34 See, there's no mistake about it. His life... "He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also." See, that identifies the characteristics, same thing He said. "If My character doesn't identify Myself, God in Him," then don't believe Him. Now, He also said that He would be identified in that. Then that, if it doesn't identify Him, then He isn't what He says. And today if Christ doesn't identify Himself--the characteristic of Christ identify us as being of Christ, believing the Word... Jesus was the Word, so He had to believe the Word. And how can we say that we are of Christ and deny any Word in that Bible? The Holy Spirit of Christ is God in you. And it'll punctuate every promise with a "Amen."The Bible said, "These signs shall follow them that believe."The Spirit of God said, "Amen." See? One of them said, "No, that was for another age. That was for disciples only.""Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature. He (anywhere, all the world) that believeth, these signs shall follow him," same thing, same yesterday, today, and forever, the characteristic being identified. That makes Hebrews 1:1, "God of sundry times, speaking to the fathers by the prophets," identifying Christ resurrected today by the same characteristic that He did in sundry times.

Total separation from unbelief 64-0121 P:15 And then when the church today puts the question upon the Word, "Is He the same? Does He still live in His Church and perform His signs and miracles that He did when He was here on earth?" which He so surely promised us in St. John 14:12, "He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also; even greater than this shall he do, for I go to My Father". "These signs shall follow them that believe": Shall follow them. The question is for the people today: "Does He really mean it?" And when you accept what the church says, "Does He really mean it?" then you put yourself in the same condition that Adam did, and join yourself with the--the woman of the church of -this world and separate yourself from the blessings that God has promised to every believer that would separate himself from the world to the Word. Now, that's the truth.

Man that can turn on light 63-1229M P:116 Oh, it takes Christ's Eternal Life to bring the Word of Life to vindication, made flesh. Oh, my goodness. Takes the Word of, takes the Holy Ghost to operate the Word of God. When Jesus said, "Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature..." Now look, Mark 16, His last commission "all the world, all the world..." It never has got there yet. See? "... all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature. He that believeth (in all the world) and is baptized shall be saved; he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe. (They'll shake hands with the... No. They'll be good church members? No.) In My Name they shall cast out devils. They shall speak with new tongues. They shall take up serpents, or drink deadly things, it won't harm them. If they lay their hands on the sick, they shall recover." Oh, my. How far? Every creature. How much? All the world till He comes again. These signs shall... and then brother Branham tells us what these signs shall be..."He that believeth on Me, the works that I do, shall he do also. Even greater then this will he do, for I go to My Father." Oh, how we can walk away from that is more than I can say.

But they do, they explain it away by saying that was only for brother Branham. well, that might soothe your conscience but it will never please the Father by doubting His promise.

Jesus Christ the same 63-0627 P:82 in St. John the 14th chapter and the 12th verse, You said, "He that believeth (not make-believeth), he that believeth on Me, the works that I do, shall he also." How could it do anything else, Father? If we could transfer the life from a pear tree to a peach tree, it would bear pears, for the life of the pear tree is in the peach. And, heavenly Father, if the Life that was in Christ, the mind that was in Him, the Spirit that was in Him, had promised to be in us, then we bear record of that. If He is the Vine and we're the branches, the Life comes from the Vine. Lord, let us be branches tonight. We realize that the Vine does not bear any fruit; it went away, but it come back in the form of the Life, and the branches bears fruit. Your voice is when You speak through us, "If you say to this mountain, 'Be moved,' and don't doubt in your heart, but believe that what you've said will come to pass, you can have what you've said. When you pray, believe you receive what you asked for; it shall be given unto you." O God, such promises. "If ye abide in Me, and My Word abide in you, then ask what you will."

Show us the father 62-0722 P:56 Said, "Search the Scriptures, for in Them you think you have Eternal Life. They are They which testify of Me". "If I do not the works of My Father then believe Me not." How many times this week we've went through that, back and forth, to show that He was the Word. So you see nature, Word, Son. It's all coming to the same God, actually the same God working in a different channels. Jesus was God manifested in the flesh. He was God the Word. Every one of us believe that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself. Jesus is the Son of God, that is the body, and God was the Spirit that dwelt in that Tabernacle that He created for Himself, a virgin body. God...That's the reason He said here, "I've been so long with you and you don't know Me? He that's seen Me hath seen the Father." In other words, "You see the Father working through Me." "God is a Spirit. They that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and truth." See? God is a Spirit. And here we find the Word being made manifest. In I John we find it; also in John 11, it says here that... And also in John 5:24, We find many places. John 14, Jesus said that, "He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also." Why? It's the Word made manifest in them.

Jehovah Jireh part 2 62-0706 P:13 Oh, we had God the Father, which was the Almighty Jehovah. Then that was in a Pillar of Light took Israel through the wilderness. And that same Jehovah become flesh and dwelt among us in the form of His only begotten Son, created a Tabernacle for His Own self to dwell in: God manifested in flesh. The Fullness of the Godhead bodily dwelt in Him, the perfect manifestation. Then through the covenant, the human part of Him was taken away, severed, that He might (this covenant) separate the Body that died, the Blood that was shed for the remission of sins, and raised it up and set it on His right hand, and sent the Spirit back on the day of Pentecost. And that same Life that was lived in Christ Jesus has to be lived in the covenant people, same Life doing the same thing. Jesus said in John 14:12, "He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he also." Now, that's either right or wrong. It's got to be right. To me, every Word of It is right. Every Word is perfectly right. Notice how glorious God works.

Jesus Christ the same 61-0118 P:27 Now, if He is the same and promised that, "Now, a little while and the world (that's the cosmos, which means the world order) won't see Me no more, yet ye shall see Me (that's the church, the believer), for I'll be with you, even in you, to the end of the world," then that makes Him the same yesterday, today, and forever. Saint John 14:12, He said, "He that believeth on Me the works that I do, shall he do also." So we see the Scriptures. We can't deny those Scriptures. They are there. Now, if we haven't faith to make them answer, well, let's just say, "I believe it, but I haven't got faith to do it." That's just like... I wish I had faith like Enoch had. One day he walked with God... After five hundred years, had a testimony he pleased Him. And just got tired of keeping his feet on the ground, took a little afternoon walk, and went up home with Him. I wished I could do that. But if I haven't got the faith to do it, I'll not stand in somebody's way that has got faith to do it. I thank God for that faith that can do it. That's the way we must think. We see some being healed; others miss it. What is it? It's just lack of faith; that's all. God doesn't treat His children one, one-way, and one another. It's based upon faith and we must believe it.

Messiah the 61-0117 P:26 Now, that was for Messiah. For Messiahettes, the church, here it comes. Are you ready? Saint John 14:12, Jesus said, "He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also": Messiahettes. That's right. Messiahettes, the representation of Messiah on earth yet...Mark 16, He said, "Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel. These signs shall follow (the Messiahettes): He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved. He that believeth not shall be damned, and these signs shall follow them that believe." How far? To all the world. Who to? Every creature. Oh, I'm so glad. How are you going to rub that out? Said, "It's just only to the disciples."To the disciples? He said, "To all the world, and to every creature. These signs shall follow them that believe."

What it takes to overcome all unbelief 60-0729 P:62 That's the way it is about Divine healing or the power of God, no matter who tries to explain it and shove it away, God said it would be so, and it'll be there. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. His power is just the same. He said, "He that believeth on me, the works that I do, shall he all, do also.""How you going to do this?""I can't tell you, but God said it would happen, and it just takes place, that's all I know." I can't explain how a black cow can eat green grass, and give white milk, but I drink it all the time, just the same. I don't know the mechanics of it, but the only thing I know it's milk and I drink it.

Thirsting for life 57-0613 P:50 So then Christ promised, Saint John 14, for His Church, "He that believeth on Me, the works that I do, shall he do also." Is that right? The same kind of works... "More than this shall he do; for I go to My Father." That Scripture must be fulfilled. He would call one now and then in the audience, but He said, "You'll do more than this; for I'm going to My Father." Purging the gifts and putting them into the church, He ascended on high, give gifts to men. He said, "A little while..." Listen at this striking statement. "A little while, and the world will see Me no more." That world there means "the world order." Now, from His day until He comes, there'll be tens of thousands of people, no matter what would ever take place, they would never see it. That's right. Jesus said, "If I do not the works of My Father, then don't believe Me. But if I do the works of My Father, believe the works." See?

Rising of the sun 65-0418M P:48 until that church becomes both Dynamics and Mechanics, and the Spirit of God that moved Him to do the things that He did, if He hit on sixteen cylinders, so will the Bride. Amen. For He said in John 14:12, "He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also, I'll give him a charge of My Dynamics in his mechanics, that the world will not be able to withstand it, and I'll raise him up again at the last day."That's the Easter message: the Dynamics and the mechanics together. The mechanics without the Dynamics, no good; neither is the Dynamics without the mechanics. You can scream and shout and jump up and down all you want to, and deny this Word; it won't do any good. You're just cranking around the--the pistons of--got spark there to fire, but no gasoline to fire it by. It'll only work as they come together.  Amen. So one will set still and the other one'll go up; that's the only thing there is to it. Yet they both might look like, both claim to be churches, both claim to be brides, but one has mechanics and Dynamics. It brings it to pass. But what He said is the Truth. It just won't move, no matter how good the mechanics is, until the Dynamics come. When the Dynamics come, that Fire is made to connect with that octane in the gasoline. And when that explodes it, it causes a combustion, and that combustion moves every motion, every move, for He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. That's the resurrection; that's the real power of God: mechanics with the Dynamics.

Possessing gate of the enemy 64-0322 P:20 Notice. How that in doing this, He... Coming from Him was God, the Spirit. And that Spirit becomes upon the believer. Therefore, the Life that was in our Sacrifice, we are identified by that same Life. Then how can they see the Life of God moving amongst the people and call it an unclean thing, when that's our identification of our Sacrifice? "He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he also," His Life from the sacrifice as we lay our hands upon it, and identifying ourselves dead to our own thoughts. Then how can we let denominations push us into creeds and things, and say we believe it? We are dead to those things. Paul said, "None of these things bother me," for he was tied to an Absolute, Christ. And every true achievement is tied to an absolute, and my Absolute is the Word. And everybody else that's really born of the Spirit, their Absolute is God's Word. I'm tied to It. I laid my hands upon It, and It took my place. I've identified myself with Him. We knew that He promised to identify Himself with us. That brings genuine faith, not your own faith, but His faith, something that you don't control. He does it. Now, notice. Then, and then only, is when the promise is made to you.

Calling Jesus on the scene 64-0319 P:42 Notice, after these disciples found themselves at the end, it must've dawned on some of them that the Creator was still with them. I hope it does that to us tonight, for Hebrews 13:8 says He's the same. Then what did they do? They awakened Jesus. Go wake a Jesus. Wake Him, call Him on the scene. He's very easy called. They had seen so many things that God had done, and the Word's a-vindicating Him--so have we. And He was not hard to be called into action. They woke Him up and said, "Do You... Carest thou not that we perish?"You say, "How can we be sure of this? Can we prove it?"John 14:12, Jesus said, "He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also." That's exactly, our faith bringing Christ in our presence.

Perseverant 64-0305 P:84 Now, how many believes that He is the same yesterday, today, and forever, raise up your hand. How many knows that this is the Truth? In Hebrews 3, says that, "Right now He is a High Priest that can be touched by the feeling of our infirmities." How many knows that? Well, if He is the same yesterday, today, and forever... Only, He's not in physical form; when He returns like that, time is over; He'll take the Church with Him. But He's here in the form of the Holy Ghost to come into me and into you, and perform His same works. He said in John 14:12, "He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall He do also." Is that right?

Now, in closing let's finish reading paragraph 104 from brother Branham's sermon, Desperation that we began with at paragraph  104 where brother Branham began to close in prayer... and let us bow our heads as I read his closing prayer before praying for the sick...

104 Let us pray. In desperation watch for the Kingdom of God; It'll come upon you. Our heavenly Father, I pray Thee in Jesus' Name, be merciful unto us, Lord. And start in us a desperation. Oh, Lord God, have mercy upon us; I pray, and let the people seek Thee tonight with desperate hearts. We know You're here, Lord. You're the same yesterday, today, and forever. And now, may these people who has the Token, that they've passed from death unto Life, they've changed from the old worldly life to a new one... They have... The Blood has been applied and God give them a Token sign.  May they take that Token in their hands, them that's sick, say, "I am a purchased product of God. I am in Christ, and in Him is no sickness. I'm in Christ, and in Him is no sin. I'm in Christ, and in Him is no unbelief. I renounce everything that the devil has told me. I take my Token that my... 'He was wounded for my transgressions; He was bruised for my iniquity; the chastisement of my peace was upon Him; and with His stripes I was healed.' And I now hold the Token that God has recognized me that purpose,  person, purchased by the Blood of the Lord Jesus. And I hold the Token of His death in my hands, because He has raised again, and I am His and He's mine. I go with determined faith, that from this night on, I believe God, and I'll be healed when I get there, and meet the requirements; because the last words that fell from His lips was this: 'If they lay hands on the sick, they shall recover.'" Grant it, Lord. May a desperation set in, for I ask it in Jesus' Name. Amen.
