Faith
in a Finished Work
October 22,
2017
Brian Kocourek
Let us remain standing as we open God's Word to Hebrews 6:16 For men verily swear by the
greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them
an end of all strife. 17 Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew
unto the heirs of promise
the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it
by an oath:
18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we
might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the
hope set before us: 19 Which hope we have
as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth
into that within the veil; 20 Whither the
forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an
high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
Let us bow our heads and our hearts for a word of
prayer. Dear Father we are so thankful to have this Privilege to once again
gather this day to worship you in spirit and Truth. And we are so thankful that Your great presence has
come among us in this hour to declare a Message to us. And we are thankful that
Your great Message is none other than your own Word and it made manifest among
us bringing us in and getting us ready for the next phase of your Parousia
Presence, that of the resurrection and change of the body.
Be with us this morning Father as we once again look
to your Word for our daily bread and for our change of the inner man that we
might receive of the outer man as well, for we ask it in the precious name of
your Loving Son our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. amen.
You may be seated.
This morning we read for our text from God's Word
where we are told that God is not a man that he would lie. And we have this
truth as an anchor not only for our soul but for our rest as well.
If we are to ever come to the place of a rapturing
Faith it will be a faith that has to be much greater to receive a body change
than to just receive healing in our body. That is what brother Branham said in
his sermon Spiritual Food in Due season.
Spiritual
food in due season 65-0718E P:2 But we are
dedicating this service tonight for prayer for the sick. And I want you to get
built up now in the holy Oracles of God, in the faith, the faith of this hour. The faith, it's
going to take more faith than ever was in any age, for this has to be rapturing faith,
be taken up. And so we want you to believe tonight in all that you
have seen, heard, the Word that you have heard preached, the
signs and wonders that you've seen done. We want you to accumulate all
that together in your heart and consider it whether if that be God or
not. It's like Elisha of old said, "If
God be God then serve Him." And if
Jesus is the Center of all things to the Christian, then I think we ought to
let loose of everything else and cleave to Him. Remember, He is the Center;
He is the North Star; He is the Ultimate; He is the
Absolute. And if He is the North Star... There's only one thing that'll
point to the north star; that's your compass that you're sailing with. And the
Compass that I'm trying you to sail with is the Word, and the Word
always points to Him.
So we are approaching His Word this morning with
sincerity and in total reverence because it is not just Truth, but The
Truth.
From his sermon The Spoken Word is the Original Seed 40 brother Branham said, "If God contradicts Himself, He's not no more
than I am or no more than you are, for He can contradict Himself. The Word's
there, but It's hid from the eyes of the wise and prudent. That's why someone
says that Matthew 28:19, where: "Go ye, teach all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the
Father, Son, Holy Ghost"; Acts 2:38 said, "Repent and be
baptized in the Name of Jesus." they
say... they're contradictory... It isn't a contradictory.
41 Everybody that's ever baptized has to be
baptized in the Name of the Father, Son, Holy Ghost. And if you're not baptized using the Name of Jesus Christ, you're not
baptized in the Name of the Father, Son, Holy Ghost. You're baptized in some titles that pertains to a Name. If that
isn't the right revelation, then the Bible would be wrong when It went ahead,
and everybody baptized in the Name of
Jesus Christ. But if the Bible baptized, every one of the apostles all down
through the age baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ after Jesus commissioned
them to baptize them in the Name of the Father, Son, Holy Ghost, then the Bible
absolutely contradicts Itself. But if you look at it, it isn't. They did just what He said: Not titles,
but name. So there's no contradiction.
Where brother Branham is speaking
about God’s Word, and the will of God is found only in His Word. 42 "How
many more could I pull out here that I've even got wrote down, that where
people say It contradict Itself. I've asked for twenty-five years (almost
thirty now) for someone to show me. It isn't there. No, sir. It's there, the Truth, all the Truth,
and nothing but the Truth, and our
faith rests right there, right
there on what God said. Don't
try to interpret It; just say it
the way It
says it." (he's talking about saying it the way the Bible
says it, or the way God wrote it. then he adds,) "Don't
put any private interpretation, and I believe that there's not anything else..."
So this morning we are
looking at our faith finding rest in a vindicated word, which is a finished
work.
Look what we read in
God's Word from Hebrews
11:6
"without faith it is impossible to please God: So if you
can not even please God without Faith then how do you expect to walk right on
up and out of here in a rapture without having a Faith for that rapture. And
Paul tells us two things that are necessary in our approach to God, he says,
"for he that
cometh to God" must believe two things (no1) must believe that he is, and (no
2) that he (God) is a rewarder of
them that diligently seek Him.
So having faith is
essential to a Christian if he is going to please God. Not only that but we are
told that “without
faith we can not please God.”
Therefore if we are to receive anything from God we must first have
faith and believe God for what we seek.
Hope is expecting a
blessing that is sometime in the future, but Faith is believing that God hears
our prayers even before they have come forth from our lips. Faith is believing
and accepting as a finished work what you are yet praying in your mind and
heart to God for.
If we truly have
researched what the word of God tells us concerning His manifold blessings He
so freely has given us, then when we enter into prayer concerning such
blessings, we should be already armed in our minds and heart with a mind set
that takes possession of that promise, and our hearing the promise, recognizing
it and then acting upon it, is an affirmation to God of our faith in His
promise. In other words, When we have thoroughly studied God’s position
concerning any of His Divine Promises He has given to us in His Word, then we
can enter into prayer with a positive resolution that He will not only hear our
request but that he has already heard our request even before we actually pray
concerning His promise.
When Jesus said it if
finished, he meant that the work was already done. In other words, when God
thought it before the foundations of the world, and then spoke it, at that
point it has become a finished work as God sees it, therefore in God's eyes it
is already a completed finished work. And God relies upon this finished work
with confident expectancy, and requires
of us to see as done what Jesus said was done. For that is what God Himself had
to wait upon His Son Jesus to make up his mind what he wanted to do in the
From his sermon, Souls in prison now 63-1110M
P:94 brother Branham said, "Jesus even prayed to dodge the cross. "Is it possible that the cup should pass," said, "nevertheless,
not My will, Thine."
Therefore, as brother Branham said in his sermon, Conference 60-1125 P:45 God's
waiting to hear what your decision is. You're the one has to make it.
He's done made His. He's proved that He made His. Now, you got to
make yours. I got to make mine. This church has got to make his.
We've all got to make our decisions. What will you do about it?
Gethsemane...
So let's see what else he said about Jesus decision in Gethsemane.
From his sermon, Communion 57-0418 P:14 Now, if God did not spare His Own Son from the cruel testing, then He
will not spare you or I from the cruel testing. And Jesus was here
confronting the greatest test that He had ever had. Gethsemane laid just before Him, where
that once and final all-sufficient test
must come, when the burdens of the entire world laid upon His blessed
shoulder. There was no one in all heavens or earth could ever stood it but Him.
And to know that all of the sins, of past sins, and present sins, and future
sins, rested upon this decision. And it
was one of the most greatest victories that Christ ever won or proved His great
Messiahship, as when He said to God, "Not My will; Thine be done." That
was the greatest victory He had ever won. All the demons of torment was
around to tempt Him and try Him. And when we get right with God, when our hearts become pure and the Holy
Spirit has taken Its place in our heart, it's the most glorious thing to have
testing. The Bible tells us that our
testings and trials are more precious to us than silver and gold of this world.
So we should be thankful.
And notice that Jesus
victory was even before he went to the cross. It was the decision he made in Gethsemane.
And your decision to say what God said about you will be your greatest victory
the same as his decision became his greatest victory.
Too many of us still
want to think there is some great feat we must perform, or some great trial we
must endure and that will be our greatest victory. But that kind of thinking is
all wrong, because the Bible says,
God said in Isaiah 40:29 He (God) giveth power to the
faint; and to them that have no
might He (God)
increaseth
strength.
And in Zechariah 4:6 We read,
"Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the
LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, "Not by might, nor by power, but by my
spirit, saith the LORD of hosts."
And from his sermon, Taking sides with Jesus
COD 62-0601 P:112 Like that blind
boy, said, "This was done that the works of God might be made manifest." See, see? He knowed what was going to take place.
Sure He did. All right. Now, the predestinated, when they seen His
Scriptural Signs, knowed that the Word vindicated the works, or the works
vindicated the Word, that the Word was right, they were predestinated to see
it, and they were right in line to see it, and they got it. Then they
said, after they'd seen they couldn't get nowhere, because the people
that's predestinated to Eternal Life, they was going to find it, that's all.
"All the Father's given me will come to Me.
And all that comes to Me I'll give Eternal Life and will raise him up at the
last day. There'll not be one of them lost."
Amen. I'm holding right to that. See? "Not
by works, not by deeds, not by power, not by might, by My Spirit, saith
God". Not what I done, what
I am, or what I will be, but what He is, and I
am in Him. And whatever He is, I'm part of Him. Amen. I'm
saved because I'm part of Him, and He is God, and I'm part of Him, being
His son. That's right. So it ain't what I done, what I
will do, it's what He has done. That's my trust, right there.
Now, with that said,
then it is not some great thing you can work yourself up into, but what God has
already said about you and your decision to accept what God has said.
God’s Word speaks in a
paste tense reckoning and all He has spoken is already a finished work and is
just waiting to put skin on it. and that is your decision, do I accept what God
said about me or do I not accept that God is more than able to make me what he
said I am to be.
God had His plan from
before the very foundations of the world, and when Jesus acknowledged what
God’s plan was for Him, then he was able to go forward and put skin on that
plan, and it was finished. Finished first in God’s mind, then accepted in ours,
and when we yield our Spirit to His Spirit and acknowledge in our prayer that
His work in you is already a finished work then what was paste tense in God
become present tense in us.
God's word told us in Ecclesiastes 3:15 That
which hath been is now; and that
which is to be hath already been;
and God requireth that which is past.
Let me break that down
for you to make it a little simpler to understand.
Ecclesiastes
3:15 That which hath been
(in God's mind) is now; and that which is to be hath
already been;(in God's mind) and God
requireth that which is past that was in His mind He requires
it, demands that, ordains that it come to pass.
In Galatians 3
Paul spoke to us telling us that what Christ did for us is paste tense
finished.
6 Even
as Abraham believed God, (that was his decision) and it was accounted to him for righteousness. 7 Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.
In other words if
Abraham did not have to work himself up into some great feat to please God,
then we his children will not have to do so either. The Bible tells us "Abraham believed
God." That's all there was
to it, he
believed God and proved his belief by just stepping into the promise
of God and claiming it for Himself and his wife.
8 And
the scripture, foreseeing (future tense) that God would (future
tense) justify
the heathen through faith, preached
before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee
shall all nations be blessed. 9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful
Abraham. (that's you and me he's talking about right
there, and if you don't see that you need to ask God for a revelation.)
Therefore it is not some great big
work that we must do, that is not what John 14:12 is all about. John 14:12 is about having the same
nature by the same Spirit as Jesus and therefore you can just expect the same
life, the same walk, the same thinking, the same speaking to take place in you
as it did in him, because "by one Spirit we are
all baptized into one body."
Jesus said to the
Pharisees,
"if
Abraham were your father you would do the works of abraham." And
what were the works of Abraham? He believed God and God imputed to him
righteousness.
O how God, our Father
just wants His children to believe him. That's what Faith is all about, just
believing what God said, the way he said it.
10 For
as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written,
Cursed is every one that continueth not in all
things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
11 But that no man is
justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just
shall live by faith. 12 And the law is not of faith: but,
The man that doeth them shall live in them. 13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse
of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is
every one that hangeth on a tree: See, that's what He's already done for us. On the cross he cried out
"it is finished".
14 That
the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the
Spirit through faith. 15 Brethren, I speak
after the manner of men; Though it be but a man's covenant, yet if it be
confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto.
Now, what Paul is
telling us here is that if two men make a covenant between them and it has been
confirmed in writing with signatures or in a hand shake, then no man can take
away or add to that covenant. And if that is the way it is between men, the how
much greater when our Father who is God has made a covenant with our Father
Abraham that the just shall live by Faith, by revelation.
16 Now
to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to
seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to
thy seed, which is Christ. 17 And this I
say, that the covenant, that
was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four
hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul,
that it should make the promise of none
effect.18 For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it
to Abraham by promise. 19 Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of
transgressions, till the seed should
come to whom the promise was made; and it was
ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.
Therefore when Jesus
Christ was adopted and given 50% of the Fathers kingdom, and then he immediately
went to Calvary to die that we might become joint heirs with him, then nothing
can separate you from the Love of God.
28 And
we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them
who are the called according to his purpose.
29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might
be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover
whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also
justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be
against us? 32 He that spared not his own Son, but
delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of
God's elect? It is God that justifieth.
34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen
again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or
famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it
is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as
sheep for the slaughter. 37 Nay, in all these
things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels,
nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able
to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
O brothers and sisters, go home today and read
Romans 8 over and over again until you see God's plan for you as a
son or daughter of God, and until you can see that it is a finished work,
already ordained and predestined to its completion. And Paul lays out for us in
Romans 8 step by step what that finished
work is and how it will become manifested in you.
The Apostle Peter told us in 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise,
as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that
any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
So if God is not slack concerning His promise, then why are we slacking
to accept it? Why are we so slow to accept what God has for us?
But that is the problem we see even in this Message. I showed you 84
signs, events, attributes and characteristics of the promised Parousia of Christ
for this day and God has already confirmed 79 of them, that's 94%
of what He promised concerning his Parousia has already taken place. And yet
why can't people believe that.
Well, brother Branham gives us our answer in his sermon, Palmerworm locust caterpillar 59-0823 P:38 The other day I was
talking, and we were thinking of Scripture. I said, "Why can't people
see that?" I said, "There it is," and I happened to think.
I don't care how clear it is, how much the Scripture teaches it, you'll never
be able to see it until God Himself shows it to you. I don't care how
clear it is. And the whole Bible is built, and the whole Church of the living
God is built upon a spiritual revelation of the Word. Why did Abel
offer a more excellent sacrifice than Cain? Why didn't Abel follow Cain? He had
the most beautiful church? But it was revealed to him.
And in his sermon, God in simplicity 63-0317M
P:187 he said, Now, why can't people believe the simple simplicity of a
humble bunch of people (See?) and the voice of the signs of God?
Why can't they believe it? Just like it always been. The
true Word of God being made manifest, They're too smart and too
educated to believe the simple form of the written Word. They want to put
their own interpretation to it. "It don't mean this. It don't mean
that." See? It does mean that. Listen. May I say this right quick
now? Even the visions that God gives here at the place, it's so
misunderstood. That's the reason you hear me on the tapes say, "Say
what the tapes say. Say what the visions say."
But will they? No they won't. O, they say, "Say what's on the tapes,
but then they don't way what's on the tapes. they say what they have already
decided they want to hear.
And in his sermon, Speak to this mountain
57-1215 P:36 brother Branham said, "I said to some of my brethren the other day,
"I can't understand." Now, this is a little personal. I don't believe
I've ever made it public, but I'm going to say it now. I've never said it
before in public in my life. See? To make it just... I'll make it plain that
you'll understand. The other day I was wondering, "What's going to happen,
Lord?" How do I know these things. That picture alone ought to have
shook the whole world, but not even a newspaper packed it. Why? Look at
these great things that's took place, the simplicity of God through these
healings and miracles. Why did it happen? How did it come to pass? Why
can't people see that?
Why can't they go to
their Bibles and see that Christ Himself spoke of 50 things that would take
place at His end Time Parousia Presence and of the things He spoke of almost
all have come to pass. And what about what Paul said, and Peter said and John
and James? Why can't people see what God said through His Son and the apostles
what was to take place in this hour, when 94%
of those things prophesied by the Scriptures has already come to pass, and they
want to call it a false doctrine. And didn't brother Branham Himself say,
"This is
my ministry, see, to declare Him, that He is here." did he not
say that? Then why don't they say what he said on those tapes and all what he
said. Because if they did they would have to admit that the Parousia is almost
over and they have spent their entire life with a wrong revelation and a wrong
understanding of this Message.
But didn't Jesus say, "If the blind lead the blind won't they all fall into
the ditch?"
But the answer is in
what brother Branham said in his sermon, God's
provided way 59-0415A P:42 He come up man's way. He come up
some way, the church's way. He come in some other way. See? But
God has a Way provided. And that Way is Jesus. And when
you come by Jesus, you take on Jesus by a spiritual baptism. And you're
dead and take on Christ by the new birth. And you're born again and
filled with His Spirit. And how you know? Because that your life would
compare with those of the Bible, those apostles who was robed in His
righteousness. Then why can't people, who claim to be Christians, believe in signs and
wonders, Divine healing, the working of the Holy Spirit? Why, they should do it.
The thing of it is, they've come in some other way besides the Door. If they come the Door, they'd be
robed with the same kind of a Spirit; they'd have the same kind of a life;
they'd have the same
kind of testimony. They would be the same people.
But instead of believing the promise of the age,
Peter told us in their blind condition the people would say...2 Peter 3:4 And saying, Where is the
promise of his parousia? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue
as they were from the beginning of the creation.
All things continue?
You have to be spiritually blind to not see that 94% of the signs and events
Jesus said would take place at his great Parousia Presence have already taken
place.
Look, brothers and sisters the word of God is so very clear in light of
His Presence that we can see Matthew 25
so perfectly clear for this day. The wise virgins had oil in their lamps, they
had an anointing in their vessels, the Holy Ghost to understand the light of
their Lamp, (the the Word of God).
Psalms 119:105 Thy
word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
When they heard the midnight Cry which is the Shout of 1 Thessalonians 4:16, "He's here, come out
to meet him" they walked out from their churches, into His
Presence but the foolish virgins also heard the same midnight cry, and came out
to investigate what was going on because of what they heard, but when they got
out having no oil in their vessel to give light to the Word of God, they went out and saw nothing, No Presence,
no Parousia, No Appearing, nothing. And so Jesus says they were diverted away
from the one Who was standing in their midst by the instructions, " If you want to see
what we are seeing, go to them who sell and buy for yourselves."
Matthew
25:9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not
enough for us and you: but go ye rather
to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
And so they went to buy, as the Scripture tells us they did. 10 And while
they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the
door was shut. (The Door is
the Word, Jesus said so. And God shut his word off from them. then notice,)
Questions
and answers COD 64-0830E P:78 411. Dear Brother
Branham, please explain St. Matthew chapter 22, verse, when... (We got that one. See? Remember the other day? I'll
show it to you. I was... See it right here?) 22... How did this guest get in
at the wedding supper, who had on a garment, but didn't have on one of the
wedding garment? Remember, I said... I kinda pulled a little joke; I said,
"A denominational brother who came by the window and not by the
Door." The Door is the Word. up here. See?
Now,
let's go back to what Jesus was telling us...11 Afterward
.... Now, how long was this? We don't
know, the scripture doesn't say, it just says,
Afterward came also the other
virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to
us.
Open up
what? Open up to us the door, your Word. 12 But he answered and said,
Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
Dr. Hoyer one of the greatest
Greek authorities this nation ever had sad in the original language this says, "I used to know you as my wife but I know you as my wife
any more". 13 Watch therefore, for ye know
neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.
There's the warning, but listen! There is only one place you can go and
buy to be able to see this One who has come down with a Shout, and we all know
what this Scripture refers to in this hour. Is that Right? But while they were busy buying
and selling the bride went into the very Parousia
Presence of the Bride Groom. Why? Because she had a revelation of Who had come
down, and Whose Presence had called them to come out.
Now, I can't make that any more plain than I've already done without
starting a war, but when the Gospel trumpet blasts, brother Branham said it
always brings a war. And I pray that it
is not too late for those who are going to the place that sells. But the
handwriting is on the wall, my friends, and God is interpreting His word by
bringing it to pass. This day this scripture is being fulfilled.
Look, I have no apologies for what I am telling you, because I can only
tell you what He shows me in this Word and I would be a hypocrite to say
anything else, or a respecter of persons to do so. So when I see the great
gathering taking place where they sell, I ask myself, Lord is the door already
being shut? "Sirs, is this the sign of the end"?
Now, look, Paul said the inheritance is not by the works of the law, but
it is a promise of God. And that pertains to the adoption. And you cannot work
yourself into inheritance no more than you can work yourself into being a son
or daughter of God.
The Apostle Paul said in Galatians 3:18 For
if the inheritance be of the law, it
is no more of promise: but God
gave it to Abraham by promise.
And all God wants from us is to believe what he said, and then have
patience to wait for what He said. Hebrews 10:36 For
ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye
might receive the
promise.
Again in Hebrews 9:15 And
for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death,
for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament,
they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
And remember that promise of eternal inheritance is only for sons and
daughters that have come into the image of the first born son, adoptable sons
and daughters. And the promise of adoption and conforming to the image of the
first born son, and then manifesting as a son was only given to be manifested in the bride age as we
showed you about a month ago in Faith no 22.
From his sermon Hear ye Him 60-0313 P:30 brother
Branham said, "And then if that child (that son) did not
obey and was not obedient child, it never was no more than a son; it
remained a son, but yet it had no inheritance. Now, we
don't want to stay in that place. The church ought to be a thousand miles
up the road farther than it is tonight. The Pentecostal blessings has
been falling on the people here in America for fifty years; and if anything,
we're dwindling instead of going on. "What are you preaching such as this
for, Brother Branham?" I want to see the church of God in deep
sincerity; I want to see the old fashioned prayer meetings. I want to see them
times when they can't leave church; they just stay all night, and pray, and
fast, and call out till God answers. Instead of that, it seem like love
has dwindled away from us. The love of God... just love...Why, a real
Christian can hardly wait: when the bell rings, he's got the front seat, and
there ready with the song book in his hand.
Hebrews
6:17 Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the
immutability of his counsel, confirmed
it by an oath:
Look, God not only gave us His word concerning our inheritance but he
confirmed it by His own oath, and he promised it to us.
And 94% of what he promised concerning His Parousia Presence has already
been confirmed and vindicated that what he said to be is the truth.
In fact those things just didn't happen by coincidence, God Himself made them come to pass
because it was God that promised them in the first place. That is what Br.
Branham taught us.
From his sermon, All things 62-1124E P:66 brother
Branham said, "I believe Him. Let's say it together. I believe
Him. I accept Him. Now, call your name. By His stripes... Say it with
me. By His stripes (now your name) William Branham was healed. It's over.
It's finished. The God that made the promise is here to confirm
the promise. Jesus said, "As the
Father sent Me, so send I you." And the
God that sent Him was with Him and in Him. He said, "If I don't do His works, don't believe Me." And if I'm not telling you the truth, He won't back
it up. But the God that sent forth His disciples, has sent this move of God
into the land. He's with it to prove that He's with it. The very signs that was promised
are vindicating His Presence. We're in the Presence of
Jesus Christ."
And again from his sermon, Patriarch Abraham
the 64-0207 P:34 brother Branham said, "Why? He is the
mighty Conqueror. If you're in Him, you're in the Word. He said, "If ye abide in Me, ask what you will." What you will, for every gate has already been
conquered. Then we can say, For every promise in the Book is mine, Every
chapter, every verse is mine. I'm trusting in His Word Divine, For every
promise in the Book is mine."Friends, do you realize what that means? Every
promise that God made Abraham, every promise that was spoke by the prophet,
every promise that Jesus Christ promised for this day, He's here to confirm it, and to show that He
lives forevermore. "Thy seed shall possess
the enemy's gate."
And also from his sermon, Token the 64-0208
P:76 brother Branham said, "Lord Jesus, they're in Your hands now. May the Token, the
Token that Jesus is not dead, the Token that Jesus raised up from the dead,
and is here tonight... He's the Token of His resurrection. He
Himself is the Word. He is here to confirm everything He said. He's here to confirm every
promise that He made. If the people could just only see it once,
Lord, that it isn't something that we could guess about; it's
something we must know, Lord. There's no try over. You can't go
back and try again. It must be done now."
And in his sermon, Perseverant 64-0305 P:78 Brother
Branham said, "Lord, we know a Word from You will mean more than a millions
that anyone else could speak. Come, Lord, and a-vindicate this, that I've told
the truth. You are the same yesterday, today, and forever. You are the Word.
You was the Word that was in Noah. You're the Word that was in Moses. You was
the Word that was in Elijah. You was the Word that was in David. You are
the Word made flesh and is among us tonight. You're here to vindicate every
promise that You made for this hour. "As it was in the days of Sodom," all these promises that You made, You're here to confirm it.
Grant it, tonight, Father. We'll watch to see You here. And then may the church
reach up by faith and take ahold, and say, "I'm perseverant, Lord.
I'll stay here like the unjust judge that the widow had ahold of."
And if that unjust judge, to get rid of the woman, gave her her desire, how
much more will the heavenly Father give those that He's expecting to hold to
Him tonight? Grant it, in Jesus' Name, we pray. Amen. The Lord be
blessed.
Now, this sermon has been quite long so let me close by just reading a
dozen or so more Scriptures concerning God's promises to us.
Hebrews
6:15 And so, after he
had patiently endured, he
obtained the promise.
Hebrews
6:13 For when God made
promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,
Hebrews
4:1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
Ephesians
1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of
truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye
were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
So the God who made the promise, comes down to seal you into that
promise, thus confirming the promise is for you.
Galatians
4:28 Now we, brethren,
as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
Galatians
4:23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but
he of the freewoman was by promise.
Galatians
3:29 And if ye be Christ's,
then are ye Abraham's seed,
and heirs according to the promise.
Romans
9:8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are
not the children of God: but the
children of the promise are counted for the seed.
Romans
4:20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but
was strong in faith, giving glory to God; Giving doxa to God, giving God his own opinions, values, and judgments.
In other words, what God gave him by promise he gave back to God in that he
believed God and stepped into what God had promised.
Romans
4:13 For the promise,
that he should be the heir of the
world, was not to Abraham, or to
his seed, through the law, but through
the righteousness of faith.
Romans
4:14 For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made
void, and the promise made of none effect: Romans 4:16 Therefore it is of faith, that it
might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure
to all the seed; not to that only which is of
the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father
of us all,
Acts 2:39
For the promise is unto you, and to
your children, (that's
all uyou need to know right there, so make your decision today, "as for me and my
house we will serve the Lord") and to all that are afar off, even as many as
the Lord our God shall call.
Acts 2:33
Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having
received of the Father the promise of the
Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.
Acts 1:4 And,
being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart
from Jerusalem, but wait for the
promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
Luke
24:49 And, behold, I send
the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of
Notice how it is over
and over said "the promise of the Father",
"the promise of the Father",
"the promise of the Father",
and your Father is not a man that he could lie, he is God.
The next few sermons
in this Faith series we will be dealing with "a Perfect Faith by a Perfect Word",
and then "Rapturing Faith, what it is and how it will come".
