Follow Me #14,
( Your Aptitude toward the Word)
Sunday Morning,
Rev Brian Kocourek
[2 Tim 3:16] All scripture [is] given by
inspiration of God, ( it is God breathed
) and [is] profitable for
doctrine (Teaching) , for reproof (evidence), for correction( restoration or
improvement), for instruction in righteousness: Revelation 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and
chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
... Prayer...
Now, what does it mean to be
chastened of the Lord? ______? Don’t answer that yet. And what does the
scripture speak of when it tells us that the Word of God is for Instruction in righteousness?
What does that Mean? Don’t answer that yet. Because, as we close this message this morning, I want you to focus
your thoughts on why brother Branham spoke this Message to these children and
their families. What is the main theme of this Message that runs throughout, and why is this Message being taught tot he
young ones. But before we answer those questions, Let’s
read the last few statements brother Branham makes concerning this message.
141 Follow Me 65-1031A Now, you bow your head. Dear
Jesus, one day in Your pilgrimage here on earth, they
brought to you such little fellows as I have been speaking to this afternoon.
And the disciples said, "The Master is too tired. He preached this
morning. He preached this and that, and He's too tired. Don't trouble Him." But, Jesus, You said, "Suffer little
children to come to Me, for of such is the Kingdom of
heaven. Lord God, today receive these little boys and girls here in this school
of righteousness, here where our brother has come apart into the side of the
wilderness here to bring out the families that desire to separate themselves
from the things of the world, to sojourn only for You. And now, their little
ones are here, watching the lives of their father and mothers, as we are
examples in all that we do. O dear God, Creator of heavens and earth, guide our
feet, Lord, that we'll not do nothing before these little ones that would put a stumbling
block in their way. For it is said,
it'd be better that we have a millstone tied at our neck, and to be cast into
the sea, than to offend one of these little ones. You said, "Their
Angels always behold My Father's face which is in heaven," the great
Angel, and guarding Angel, over each of these little souls. As they set this afternoon with their little
eyes wide open, looking and answering the questions, and listening at the
little baby stories of the Bible, of how these two young men who took their
choices, and each one of them dedicating
their lives to You. O Jehovah God,
lead them, protect them. And may they find this great Leader, Jesus Christ, that will lead them when father and mother and the
teachers are finished with them. May You lead them to
Eternal Life, as You did to Moses, as their humble, little, child prayer went
to You. I give them to You, Lord, as Your servants, as trophies and gems for Your crown.
Use them, Lord, to honor You on earth. In Jesus Christ's Name. Amen.
145 And you little ones, fellows, can... Now, you feel better about it now?
You know Jesus is going to lead you and guide you. Don't you believe that? And
Jesus is going to make you little boys just like Moses and Miriam, the
prophetess and the prophet, going to make great people out of you. Now, we older people that have accepted Him,
don't we want Him to lead us on too? I want Him to lead me on, guide my feet, hold my hand. See? And even when I come down to the river, I
want to have ahold of His Hand. We all want that, don't we?
147 Dear Jesus, lead us too, Father.
Now, we're fixing to separate from each other. I must go back to
149
God bless each one of you. By His counsel guide, uphold you, With His arms
securely fold you; God be with you till
we meet again! Till we meet! till we meet! Till we
meet (Thank you, brother, sister.) at Jesus' feet; Till
we meet! (Thank you, people.) God be with you till we meet again! God bless you all.
Now, who can tell me what the main
theme of this message is? Don’t answer that yet. And what is the sub topic of
this Sermon? Don’t answer that yet. And who then are we to follow? Don’t answer
that yet. And who is Jesus Christ? Don’t answer that yet. And why then are we
to follow the Word of God? Now, I’m glad that you can answer these questions
because it is very important that you know what you’re talking about.
II Timothy 3:16 All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for
doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction
in righteousness: Now the word instruction comes from the
Greek word, paideia
{pahee-di'-ah}and it means Ä chastening (3) but it also means to nurture (1)and this
nurturing speaks instruction and
chastisement (1) 1) the whole training
and education of children (which relates
to the cultivation of mind and morals, and employs for this purpose now commands and admonitions, reproof and
punishment) in adults it also
speaks of cultivating the soul, esp. by
correcting mistakes and curbing passions.
2a) therefore, instruction which aims at increasing virtue 2b)utilizing chastisement, or chastening, (which is the
evils with which God visits men for
their amendment)
Ephesians 6:4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in
the nurture and admonition of the
Lord.
Hebrews 12:5
And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto
children, My son, despise not thou the
chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: 6 For whom the Lord loveth he
chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. 7 If ye endure chastening, God
dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth
not? 8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are
ye bastards, and not sons. 9 Furthermore we have had fathers of
our flesh which corrected [us], and
we gave [them] reverence: shall we not much rather be
in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? 10 For they verily for a few days
chastened [us] after their own pleasure; but he for [our] profit, that [we]
might be partakers of his holiness. 11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous:
nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto
them which are exercised thereby.
Now, this morning, we are going to
be doing something which we have never done before, but it has to do with your
learning. Now we know that the scripture
plainly tells us that we are to be taught of God.
John 6:45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore
that hath heard, and hath learned of the
Father, cometh unto me. Therefore, it is not just needful to have been taught, but
also to have learned. because the teaching is not you,
but it is what God has done for you. But as you know, you may attend class, but
are you learning is another thing altogether. are you
grasping what has been taught. That is the question. Now we know that if we
talk the word, it will come out of us whether we truly know or not, but when I
can’t seem to get you all to come on Wednesday nights when we talk the word,
how can I ever ascertain whether you get it or not. Now, the five fold ministry can not given you
revelation, but we can give you a mental picture or understanding in your mind
that the Holy Spirit can anoint and if and when He anoints it to you, then no
man can ever take it from you.
Now we read in Galatians
6:6 Let him that is
taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things. Therefore,
it is necessary according to the Word of God that we talk to each other about
this Word, and that you give back this revelation in the way of conversation to
me as your teacher, or pastor. Now, we do this on Wednesday nights, but when
you don’t come, how can you fulfill this scripture? 6 Let him that is taught in the
word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things. What good things? All
good things, in other words in those things that you have been taught!
Now, that is why we have lost some
sheep over the years. Because they did not understand the Doctrine. In I John 2:19 we hear John tell us...They
went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they
would [no doubt] have continued with us: but [they went out], that they might
be made manifest that they were not all of us. And then he says, 20
But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things. Now,
notice that he is telling us that those who went out could not have had this
unction or anointing because had they had this anointing they would have
understood and they could not have gone out.
21 I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because
ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.
22 Who is a liar but he that denieth
that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that
denieth the Father and the Son. 23 Whosoever denieth the
Son, the same hath not the Father: [(but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath
the Father also]. 24 Let that therefore
abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have
heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the
Son, and in the Father. 25 And this is the promise that he
hath promised us, [even] eternal life. 26 These [things] have I written unto
you concerning them that seduce you. 27 But the anointing which ye have
received of him abideth in you, and ye
need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is
no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. 28 And now, little children, abide in
him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed
before him at his coming. 29 If ye know that he is
righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.
Now this same one that said, 27
But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but
as the same anointing teacheth you of
all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye
shall abide in him. Also said, in I John 4:6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. Therefore
we can conclude that If you are of God and had your
source in God, then you will hear those whom God has sent. In fact even Jesus
said this Himself. He said unless you receive him that I send,
you can not receive me. John 6:29 Jesus answered and said unto
them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. And
watch what Jesus said to the Pharisees...
John 5:38 And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye
believe not. 39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think
ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. 40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.
Notice, Jesus tells them they will
not come to where they can get Life. And why is that? because
He also said... John
His word has no place in them, therefore they will not come to the Light. That’s John 3:19-21. For every one that doeth evil
hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. They don’t want to be reproved,
or corrected or instructed. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light,
that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
You know those people who can not
take the Word, are those who go for the gifts. yet
brother Branham said, from “Why we are Not a Denomination”, “Here’s the far greater gift
right here. which would be the best, the gift of the
Holy Ghost of Wisdom to put the Word of God together and show the church where we’re standing,
than just get somebody healed. we all want to be well;
but I’d rather have my soul well, than my body anytime.”
I Corinthians
Therefore if we have the mind of God
and we are born again, we will not only know the things of God but we will
speak the things of God.
Therefore as Peter said, I Peter 4:12 Beloved,
think it not strange concerning the fiery trial (That word is test) which is to try you or test you, as though some strange thing happened unto
you: And again he said, I Peter 1:7 That the trial or test of your faith, being
much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire,
might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus
Christ: ... Now with this in mind, I have chosen to do something very
different this morning...
