Three Reasons Jesus was Despised and Rejected
March

ISAIAH 53:1¶ Who hath believed
our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? 2 For he shall grow up
before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no
form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, [there is] no beauty that we
should desire him. 3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and
acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were [our] faces from him; he was
despised, and we esteemed him not.
I CORINTHIANS 2:7But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, [even] the
hidden [wisdom], which God ordained before the world unto our glory: 8 Which
none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known [it], they would not
have crucified the Lord of glory.
Notice he said, had they known who He was, they would not have
crucified Him. So the ones who crucify the Word today are those who are
ignorant of it.
HEBREWS 6:4 For [it is] impossible for those who were once for all
enlightened,(Now, what is
the once for all enlightenment? It is today when god Himself has descended with
a shout!) and notice, these that have
received the message, they are the ones which also have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were
made partakers (the word actuallky means companions, to have walked
alongside) of the Holy Ghost, 5 And have tasted the
good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, (that’s
millennium power, to tell the raging bull to lay down, or the mad hornets to
turn back, or to lay hands on the opossum ) 6 If
they shall fall away,(if they shall deviate from the Truth it is
impossible) to renew them again unto repentance;(which
is a change of the mind) seeing they crucify to
themselves the Son of God afresh, and put [him] to an open shame.
These are the ones who crucify the word all over again. Now, this
morning we will continue in our study of …
WHO IS THIS
MELCHISEDEC 65-0221E and we
will pick up at pp. 117 where
brother Branham said, No wonder Paul could say when they was building a block to chop
his head off. He said, "Oh, death, where is your sting? Oh, grave, where
is your victory? But thanks be to God Who gives us the victory." He said,
"Death, tell me where you can make me holler. Grave, tell me, how you
going to hold me, for I am a possessor of Eternal Life." Amen. He
recognized it. Death, hell, grave, nothing could hold him. And nothing can hurt
us, got Eternal Life. He realized he was blessed with Eternal Life.
If you remember last Sunday we spoke of the
Three Reason’s that Jesus was despised and Rejected, and they were #1)
Doctrine, #2) Doctrine and #3) Doctrine.
We showed you that the rejection did not
come from the works that he did, but for the things he said. Jesus was not
despised for healing the sick, or casting out devils, but for what he said. The
doctrine that His Father gave Him to speak, that is why He was despised and
rejected. They hated him and despised him and even rejected Him not for his
personality problems, nor for his actions, but for the doctrine He taught.
JOHN 10:24 Then came the Jews
round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If
thou be the Christ, tell us plainly. (They really didn’t want to know, because for had they really wanted to
know, Jesus would not have answered them the way he did.) 25 Jesus answered them, I
told you, and ye believed not (He said, Look, I’ve already told
you but you are not believers, so how can you believe me when I tell you the
Truth. Then notice, he says, I don’t expect you to believe me based on my doctrine,
but God has stood behind my doctrine and has vindicated me.) the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness
of me. 26 But ye believe not,
because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. 27 My sheep hear my voice,
and I know them, and they follow me: 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and
they shall never perish, neither shall any [man] pluck them out of my hand.
29My Father, which gave [them] me, is greater than all; and no [man] is able to
pluck [them] out of my Father's hand. 30
I and [my] Father are one. 31Then
the Jews took up stones again to stone him. 32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I showed you from my Father;
for which of those works do ye stone me? 33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for
blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
(Now, look, it all boils down to their preconceived theology. These
people were Oneness, and did not understand what Jesus was telling them. When He
said, I and my Father are One they, like the Oneness today, misunderstood what
he was saying. And they wanted to kill him for it. Oh, today they might not
physically kill, but in words and deeds they will try to destroy your
influence. And they would kill today if the laws did not prevent them from
doing so. Now, notice how they did not understand what Jesus meant when he said
“I and my Father are One”.
Jesus goes on to explain that to them in
verse 34.) 34
Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
35 If he called them gods, unto whom
the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; 36 Say ye of him,
whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest;
because I said, I am the Son of God?
(Notice, He never claimed to be God , but
the Son of God. But because they were so indoctrinated into this Oneness
teaching they could not understand what He was telling them.) 37 If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. 38 But
if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and
believe, that the Father [is] in me,
and I in him. (Notice he tells them, Look, I and My Father are One
because the Father is in Me. That is how I can do these works. Because My
Father is dwelling in me. That is what makes us One. As the Father worketh, so the Son worketh
Hitherto.) 39
¶ Therefore, they sought again to
take him: but he escaped out of their hand, 40 And went away again
beyond Jordan into the place where John at first baptized; and there he abode.
Before we go into the doctrine that they
despised and rejected, let me first establish the fact that you must first
understand that these people can not accept the doctrine, and so if they cannot
accept it, or even understand it then they must despise and reject it for that
is all that is left for them to do.
Romans 8:7 Paul tells us the carnal mind is
enmity against God. ROMANS 8:5 For they
that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are
after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6
For to be carnally minded [is] death; but to be spiritually minded [is]
life and peace. 7 Because the carnal
mind [is] enmity against God: for it
is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot
please God.
Now the word enmity here is the Greek word echtra
which actually means hatred, and it
comes from the root word echtros which means not only to hate but to
hate with action, hatred, hostile, or to oppose. This tells us that it is no
longer a passive resistance, but an active opposition. In other words, it goes
beyond feelings, into manifestation and action. A literal showing of that
feeling of opposition. The word enmity actually means a deep seated hatred.
This is not a surface hatred we are dealing with here. It is an innate thing.
One which reflects the very nature of the being. And it boils right down to one
things, and that is seed.
The Apostle Paul told us that the natural
man cannot know the things of God because it takes the Spirit of God to know
the things of God. And if you have not been born again you can never know the
things of God.
I CORINTHIANS 2:7But we speak the
wisdom of God in a mystery, [even] the hidden [wisdom], which God ordained
before the world unto our glory: 8 Which none of the princes of this world
knew: for had they known [it], they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered
into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love
him. But God hath revealed [them] unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit
searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of
man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit
of God. 12 Now we have received, not
the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the
things that are freely given to us of God. 13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom
teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost
teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man
receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto
him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned.
In John chapter 3 Jesus, tells Nicodemus
that unless you have are born again, you cannot see the kingdom of God.
JOHN 3:1 ¶ There was a man of the Pharisees, named
Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: 2 The
same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a
teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except
God be with him. 3 Jesus answered and
said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4
Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter
the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? 5 Jesus answered, Verily,
verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the
Spirit is spirit. 7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
That is why so many people thought Jesus was
crazy. Because unless they had received the Holy Spirit, they had no clue as to
what he was talking about. They see how dedicated you are and think you are
nuts. They know that you have something that is missing in their own lives, but
because they don’t know what that is they do not understand your devotion and
dedication.
I know how most people view religion. To
most people, it is just that. They see religion as a con game played by smooth
talking conmen, just trying to empty their pockets. And, you know something. I
agree with them. That’s what religion is. Carl Marx had it right. He said it is
the poor peoples opium. Religion is a covering for sin. To me the worst people
I have ever met were some of the most religious people I have ever met. But
religion is not what we are here for. We are hear to have fellowship with God,
and if we walk in the Light as He is in the Light, then we have fellowship one
with another and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
God doesn’t want religion from you, he wants
fellowship. What Father wants for his kids to just go through the motions and
not really be sincere about what they are doing. What parent would want their
son or daughter or daughter to go to college and just put in the time without making
an effort. Or for that matter, who would like to see your child just go through
life without trying to accomplish something.
“Well, have a nice day Junior, if you don’t
want to get out of bed, that’s ok, just do what your little heart tells you.”
You call that a parent? I’d say that was a delinquent, not a parent. A parent
wants the best for their kid, and so they challenge the child to reach their
full potential. And so does our Heavenly Father.
Anyway,
Jesus said, unless you are born again, there is no way you can see the
kingdom of God. Now the word see that he used there means to understand. It’s
the Greek word eido which means “to know, i.e. get knowledge of,
understand, perceive or comprehend.”
So you can see that it is essential for one
to be able to understand the things of God they must have God Life in them.
Remember, Paul said the Spirit of God in a man will compare Spiritual things with Spiritual. And
carnal men compare carnal things.
So we can see then why these men despised the
things Jesus taught. In I CORINTHIANS 1:23 The Apostle Paul tells us, that
the things of God are considered foolish to men, but God uses those things
which men consider foolish to present Himself to men. But we preach Christ
crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; 24 But unto them which are called, both Jews
and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and
the wisdom of God. 25 Because the
foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than
men. 26 For ye see your calling,
brethren, how that not many wise men
after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, [are called]: Now, why is
that? Paul tells us here, 27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the
world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the
world to confound the things which are mighty; 28 And base things of the world,
and things which are despised, hath God
chosen, [yea], and things which are not, to bring to naught things that
are: 29 That no flesh should glory in
his presence.
Paul said God on purpose uses the simple
things and the things which appear foolish and are despised by men to purposely
hide the Truth from the wisdom of men, so that no man can boast in His
presence.
In Matthew we find that Jesus goes one step
further. He tells us that God purposely says things so that some may never know
the truth. MATTHEW 13:10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou
unto them in parables? 11 He answered
and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the
kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. 12 For whosoever hath, to him
shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from
him shall be taken away even that he hath. 13 Therefore speak I to them in
parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do
they understand. 14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which
saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see,
and shall not perceive: 15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and [their]
ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time
they should see with [their] eyes, and hear with [their] ears, and should
understand with [their] heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
16 But blessed [are] your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
Now this brings us back to the fact that
Jesus was despised and rejected of men. This morning I want to again look at these
three reasons why he was despised and rejected. And not only was he despised
and rejected, but as I said last week, there is no place in scripture that
speaks of Jesus being despised and rejected until he began to teach the
doctrine of God.
Jesus taught three doctrine that caused men
to despise and reject Him, and they were
#1) The Godhead. Jesus taught them of His relationship with the Father,
but the Jews being Oneness in their doctrine could not stomach what Jesus was
telling them, And in fact resented the very words that he taught because it
went contrary to their theology.
#2) They hated Jesus for preaching Presence. He taught the Parousia
of God in Him, and they hated it because again, it went against their
understanding of their Oneness theology.
#3) He taught TWINS, and they hated Him for it, because it exposed just
who they were.
Therefore these three Doctrine that He
taught brought out such hatred and enmity against Him that it led to his death
on the cross.
Just think of it, the Oneness, who were Jews
actually got together with the Trinitarian Romans to plot out the final demise
of the one they so despised and rejected. The Trinitarians and Oneness got
together, to kill the only man with the Truth of the Godhead.
Like brother Branham said the Jewish Rabbi
told him, “far be it that God would have a Son” and yet that is exactly what
they hated Him for. And they hate us today for declaring this relationship. You
see the Oneness so hated the Trinity or pagans of Rome whose God Jupiter had a
son Hercules, who was the savior of the Roman world. And So the Jews despised
this man Jesus who came forth with Miracles and yet his doctrine angered them
so.
And had it been His own doctrine I doubt
very much they would have given Him so much trouble. But He did not teach them
his own doctrine, and He said it was not His own, but rather it was God’s
doctrine and that is what made them so angry against Him.
JOHN 7:14 ¶ Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went
up into the temple, and taught. 15
And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having
never learned? (Now, notice
these people are saying the same thing about Jesus that they said of William
Branham. What school did he go to? We know that this man is uneducated, and yet
where does he come up with this stuff he is preaching?) 16 Jesus answered
them, and said, My doctrine is not mine,
but his that sent me. 17 If any man will do his will, he shall know of the
doctrine, whether it be of God, or [whether] I speak of myself. 18 He that speaketh of himself seeketh his
own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and
no unrighteousness is in him. 19 Did not Moses give you the law, and [yet] none
of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about
to kill me?
In VERSE 21Jesus
answered and said unto them, I have done
one work, and ye all marvel. (In other words, he is telling them
that the miracles that no man can do, causes them to wonder, because only God
can do the miracles. And yet His doctrine was awful according to their schools
of thought. And yet Jesus is telling them His Doctrine is not His but the same
one that doeth the miracles is the same one who told Him what to say. Then he
says, look, you claim to believe Moses because of the miracles, and yet you do
not do what He said you should do.)
28 Then cried Jesus in the temple as he taught, saying, Ye
both know me, and ye know whence I am: and I
am not come of myself,
(Here he is telling them, Look, I am not here alone. God is with me, and even
in me. He is preaching Presence to them and they do not like it.) but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not. 29
But I know him: for I am from
him, and he hath sent me. (Again here Jesu is speaking of a very
special relationship with God and they do not want to hear it, because it goes
contrary to their oneness mindset.) 30 Then they sought to take him: but no
man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come. 31And many of the
people believed on him, and said, When Christ cometh, will he do more miracles
than these which this [man] hath done? 32 The
Pharisees heard that the people murmured such things concerning him; and the
Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to take him. Why?
because the people were beginning to believe His Doctrine.
Now let’s examine this doctrine that Jesus
was preaching and that He claimed was not His but the Father’s.
JOHN 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him:
and I will raise him up at the last day. 45 It is written in the prophets, And
they shall be all taught of God. Every
man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.
46 Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen
the Father. (Godhead)
51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any
man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give
is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. 52 The Jews therefore strove among
themselves, saying, How can this man give us [his] flesh to eat? 53 Then
Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh
of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. 54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my
blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. 55 For my
flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. 56 He that eateth my flesh,
and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. 57 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father (Presence): so he
that eateth me, even he shall live by me. 58 This is that bread which came down
from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of
this bread shall live for ever. 59 These things said he in the synagogue, as he
taught in Capernaum. 60 ¶ Many
therefore of his disciples, when they had heard [this], said, This is an hard
saying; who can hear it? 61 When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples
murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you? 62 [What] and if ye shall see the Son of man
ascend up where he was before? 63 It is
the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak
unto you, [they] are spirit, and [they] are life. 64 But there are some of
you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that
believed not, and who should betray him. 65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come
unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.
66 From that [time] many of his disciples went
back, and walked no more with him. 67 Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will
ye also go away? 68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go?
thou hast the words of eternal life. 69
And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the
living God. 70 Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of
you is a devil? 71 He spake of Judas Iscariot [the son] of Simon: for he it was
that should betray him, being one of the twelve.
JOHN 8:12 ¶ Then spake Jesus
again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me
shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. 13 The Pharisees therefore said unto him,
Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true. 14 Jesus answered and
said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, [yet] my record is true: for I
know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and
whither I go. 15 Ye judge after the
flesh; I judge no man. 16 And yet if
I judge, my judgment is true: for I am
not alone, but I and the Father that sent me. 17 It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men
is true. 18 I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me
beareth witness of me. 19 Then
said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me,
nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also. 20 These words spake Jesus in the treasury,
as he taught in the temple: and no man laid hands on him; for his hour was not
yet come. 21 ¶ Then said Jesus again
unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins:
whither I go, ye cannot come. 22 Then
said the Jews, Will he kill himself? because he saith, Whither I go, ye cannot
come. 23 And he said unto them, Ye are
from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.
24 I said therefore unto you, that ye
shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am [he], ye shall die in
your sins. 25 Then said they unto
him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even [the same] that I said unto
you from the beginning. 26 I have
many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I
have heard of him. 27 They understood not that he spake to them of the
Father. 28 Then said Jesus unto them,
When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am [he], and
[that] I do nothing of myself; but as my
Father hath taught me, I speak these things. 29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for
I do always those things that please him. 30 As he spake these words, many believed on him. 31 ¶ Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed
on him, If ye continue in my word, [then] are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth
shall make you free. 33 They answered
him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest
thou, Ye shall be made free? 34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say
unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. 35 And the servant abideth not in the house
for ever: [but] the Son abideth ever. 36
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
37 I know that ye are Abraham's seed;
but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you. 38 ¶
I speak that which I have seen
with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father. 39 They
answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye
were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham. 40 But now
ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of
God: this did not Abraham. 41 Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said
they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, [even] God.
42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me:
for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent
me.
43 Why do ye not understand my speech? [even]
because ye cannot hear my word. 44 Ye
are of [your] father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was
a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no
truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar,
and the father of it. 45 And because
I tell [you] the truth, ye believe me not. 46 ¶ Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I
say the truth, why do ye not believe me? 47
He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear [them]
not, because ye are not of God. 48
Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art
a Samaritan, and hast a devil? 49 Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I honour my Father, and ye do dishonour
me. 50 And I seek not mine own
glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth. 51 ¶ Verily, verily, I
say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death. 52 Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know
that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If
a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death. 53 Art thou greater than our father Abraham,
which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself? 54 Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth
me; of whom ye say, that he is your God: 55 Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say,
I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his
saying. 56 Your father Abraham
rejoiced to see my day: and he saw [it], and was glad. 57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not
yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? 58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before
Abraham was, I am. 59
Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went
out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.
CURTAIN OF TIME 55-0302 E-22
They couldn't understand Him. He was a mystery, even to the Apostles. No one
could understand Him, because there was
two people talking all the time. E-23
The Person Jesus Christ was
talking, and God was talking in Him, also. Sometimes it was Christ himself; sometimes
it was the Father that dwelt in Him. You see it? They couldn't understand
some things He would say; He talked in riddles to them. Jesus finally said,
when He was talking to them one day, how, "I came from God; I come into
the world; and I go back again to God." And so the disciples said,
"Now You speak plainly. Now we understand, and we believe that You know
all things, and by this we believe that You are the Son of God. We believe on
You, now, because You know all things; God shows You all things; and You need
no man to have to tell You, because God just shows it to You. And that's the
reason we believe that You come out from God."
JOHN 12:47 And if any man hear my
words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but
to save the world. 48 He that
rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word
that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. 49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the
Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I
should speak. 50 And I know that his commandment is life everlasting:
whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.
JOHN 14:7 If ye had known me, ye
should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have
seen him. 8 Philip saith unto him,
Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. 9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and
yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father;
and how sayest thou [then], Shew us the Father? 10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the
words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth
in me, he doeth the works. 11
Believe me that I [am] in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe
me for the very works' sake.
SHOW US THE FATHER IT'LL
SATISFY 56-0422 E-36 Now, it's many times it's been said that
no man can see God at anytime, the Bible said so. But the only begotten of the
Father has declared Him. Philip, here was very inquisitive; he wanted to see
the Father. Says here He said, "I've been so long with you, Philip, and
you don't know Me?" Said, "When you see Me you see My Father." In other words, you see the
Father express Hisself through the Son. Him and the Father were one in the
sense that His Father was dwelling in Him, not Him doing the works; He was a
Son, Himself, the immortal, virgin born, Son of God. And then in Him was dwelling the God the Father,
expressing Hisself to the world, His attitude towards the people. See?
Well, that's how Christ and God were
one. God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself. Now, He said,
"When you see Me, you see the Father, and why do you say, 'Show us the
Father?'"
JOHN 17:5 And now, O Father,
glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before
the world was. 6 ¶ I have manifested
thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were,
and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word. 7 Now they have known that all things
whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee. 8 For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they
have received [them], and have known surely that I came out from thee, and
they have believed that thou didst send me. 9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which
thou hast given me; for they are thine. 10
And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.
14 I have given them thy word; and the world
hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the
world. 15 I pray not that thou
shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from
the evil. 16 They are not of the
world, even as I am not of the world. 17 ¶
Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. 18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even
so have I also sent them into the world. 19
And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be
sanctified through the truth. 20 ¶ Neither pray I for these alone, but for them
also which shall believe on me through their word; 21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, [art] in me, and I
in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou
hast sent me. 22 And the glory which
thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
23 I in them, and thou in me, that
they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast
sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. 24 ¶
Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where
I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst
me before the foundation of the world.
DENTIFIED MASTERPIECE OF GOD
64-1205 E-56 He came to reflect the Father, and the Father was the Word.
Amen. Now I feel real religious. He came to reflect the Father's Word.
SEED OF DISCREPANCY
65-0118 78 He said One like
He and the Father are One. And the
Father was the Word, and He was the Word made manifest. He was One with the Father, because He was
the manifestation of God's promised Word.
