The Name of the Father
April
14, 2002
WHO IS THIS MELCHISEDEC 52 Now,
notice. Now, we see Melchisedec and why that Mary wasn't His mother. That's the reason He called her woman, not
mother. He had no father, for He was
the Father, the Everlasting Father, the three in the One. He had no mother. Certainly not. He had
no father, for He was the Father. As the poet said one time speaking a
great compliment unto Jesus. He said, I AM that spoke to Moses In a burning
bush of fire. I AM the God of Abraham, The bright and morning Star. I'm Alpha,
Omega, the beginning from the end. I am the whole creation, And Jesus is the
Name. (That's right.) Oh, Who do you say that I am? And whence do they say that
I came? Do you know My Father, Or can you tell His Name? (Hallelujah.) That's the Father's Name. "Yeah, I come in My Father's Name and you received
Me not." See? Sure, He's the same yesterday, today, and forever.
53
And this Melchisedec became flesh. He revealed Himself as
Son of man when He come as a Prophet. He come in three names of a Son: the Son
of man, the Son of God, the Son of David. When He was here on earth He was a
Man to fulfill the Scripture. Moses said, "The Lord your God shall raise up a Prophet liken unto me." So
He had to come as a prophet. He didn't never say, "I am the Son of
God." He said, "I am the Son of man. Do you believe the Son of
man?" 'Cause that's what He had to testify of, because that's what He was.
Now, He's come in another son's Name: Son of God, the unseen, the Spirit. And
when He comes again, He's Son of David to set upon His throne.
What I would like to do this morning is to look at these statements and show you here that Brother Branham is referring to Melchisedec, not as Jesus the Son of God but as the Father (God Himself).
Notice He says, That's the reason He called her woman, not mother. He had no
father, for He was the Father,
the Everlasting Father, the three in the One. He had no mother. Certainly not. He had no father, for He was the
Father.
Now, that ought to settle it right there, because that’s about as plain as you can get, and yet it seems that some people just do not want to believe that Melchisedec was the Father. They want to believe that Melchisedec was the Son of God, but He wasn’t.
But what does the
Word of God say? Hebrews 7:1 For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high
God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed
him; 2 To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by
interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which
is, King of peace; 3 Without father,
without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of
life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest
continually. 4 Now consider how great
this man was, unto whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the
spoils.
Now, the Scripture tells us
that he was without Father and without Mother. In other words, this one was not
born. Neither did He have any beginning of Days or ending of Life. And brother
Branham said the reason He had no mother of Father was because He was the
Father. He then quotes a poem that says, Do you know My Father, Or can you tell His Name?
(Hallelujah.)And then Brother Branham says, “That's
the Father's Name. "Yeah, I
come in My Father's Name and you received Me not." See? Sure, He's the
same yesterday, today, and forever.”
So we see there is something about the name that throws people off, and yet Jesus was very plain when he said, “I come in my fathers name and you receive me not.”
Now I would like to examine the name, this name that Jesus came in because it seems to throw so many into confusion concerning it.
John
5: 36 But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works
which the Father hath given me to
finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me. 37 And the Father himself, which hath sent me,
hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor
seen his shape. 38 And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath
sent, him ye believe not. 39 Search the
scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which
testify of me. 40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. 41 I receive not honour
from men. 42 But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you. 43 I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if
another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive. 44 How can ye believe,
which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from
God only? 45 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is
one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust. 46 For had ye believed
Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. 47 But if ye believe
not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?
Notice here that Jesus tells us 43 I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive. In other words, there is something about the name of the Father that the people do not want. They will accept a man if he comes in any other name, but if he comes in the name of the Father, then they do not seem to want that. That is just what Jesus is telling us.
Modern events made clear by prophecy 65-1206 P:64 God put His Name in Jesus. Do you believe that? He was the Son of
God. Every son comes in his
father's name. He said, "I come in My Father's Name; you receive
Me not." I come in my father's name; you come in your father's name. Jesus
come in His Father's Name,
so His Father's Name's
Jesus (It's exactly), 'cause He came in His Father's Name. "And you receive Me not. Another will come, and
him you will receive." You'll take your denominations and go on with them.
Just go ahead, the Bible says, "They were raised up to fulfill this place.
Blind, naked, and don't know it." Church, religion, oh, very pious, just
the same as Cain was; make a sacrifice, make everything just the same as Abel
did. But by revelation it was revealed to him what the sacrament was, not
fruits of the field and something to do with your hand. The believer can see
the Word made flesh; the others cannot do it.
Ashamed of Him 65-0711 P:90 Jesus said, "I came in My Father's Name, and you received
Me not. But there will be one come in his own name, and you'll receive
him," that's your denominations. Any son comes in his father's
name. I come in my
father's name. You men come in your father's name. And what was His Name, what
is the Name of the Father? Jesus. He, "came in My Father's Name, you
received Me not." Now, His Bride will have His Name, of course. I took a
woman, by the name of Broy, and she become a Branham. He's coming for a Bride,
be sure and remember that.
God's provided place of worship 65-0425 P:53 That's God's provided Way, and the only Way
that He has, is in Jesus Christ, His Son. And in His Son He placed His Name.
His... God's Name is Jesus, 'cause He came in His Father's Name. And so that would be God's Name, because He was God.
Revelation book of symbols 56-0617 P:34 Watch all those names; they mean
something, every name in the Bible. When you see
one name in the Bible,
it means something. Did you know Israel's
wives, when they gave birth to the twelve patriarchs, each one of those
mothers, when they were having the baby, and the baby was being born, and them
groaning, the groans that they came out, and named those boys in the very groans that they give,
signified the nature of the child, and the place they'd make their final
resting place. Every groan (Amen.), under the power of the Holy Ghost...That's
the reason we should be groaning in the Spirit. Now, I don't mean a lot of put on, but I mean really in travail for the Church.
Then the Holy Spirit... Then you can get some real speaking with tongues and
interpretation. The Holy Spirit making utterance and tells through groans and
prayer; be real truth too. It'll be something
right now that you'll see take place.
Voice of God 63-0120M P:30
Now, we find out that they set the pace. And did you ever notice,
our young boys has become Ricky and Elvis. You got a child named that, change it right
quick, call him number one or two, or something.
Don't... That's a horrible... You say, "What difference does the name mean?" Why, sure, it means something.
Your name characterizes
your life. "Now, Brother Branham, you're on numerology." No, I'm not.
I'm on THUS SAITH THE LORD. Why was it when Jacob, he lived to his name as--as deceiver, supplanter,
Jacob. And when God changed him, He changed his name. God changed Saul to Paul, Simon to Peter. Certainly,
it has something. And
Ricky and Elvis, and such names
as that, is the modern American name
which throws a child automatically right into that.
Once more 63-0804A P:35 What have we got, the
Pentecostal people today? Too many Rickies. That word, Elvis and Ricky, you
never heard of that in other days. It's a word; it's the name for this day. It goes with
this. It means something. You say, "A name means nothing." Then why did He change Abram's name to Abraham? Why did He
change Saul's name to
Paul, Simon's name to
Peter? Why did He change His Own Name?
Why did He change Jacob to Israel? Not until he wrestled with the Lord, not
until he overcome. And when Jesus overcome death, hell and the grave, the Bible
said He had a new Name.
And when Jacob overcome...
Now, notice there is
something about a name. God's prophet said so, and men have studied just what
is in a name for millennium's. Then
what if that name is the name of God? What will that tell us? What will that
express to us about God Himself? And what will that tell us about His Son, in
whom he placed His own Name? And finally what will that tell us about the bride
Who is given that name? Now for the next few minutes let's look at several
scriptures that speak of the name of the Lord.

and there is no other name like it.

God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above
every name:

our Lord, how excellent is thy name
in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.

#3) it has been given to us for purpose, and character, because if we are not willing to suffer with
Him we shall not reign with Him. It's
our heritage, it's our identity. Jesus said they do not know you because they
did not know my father.
