Who
is this Melchisedec #148
“Jesus Christ the
High Priest of Our Profession ”
This evening I would like to take a short
message on Jesus Christ, the High Priest as we continue our study of brother
Branham’s sermon called Who Is This Melchisedec 65-0221E we want to pick up at paragraph 175. “Now, if that was
Him yesterday, and the way He acted to
prove that He was among the people, the Messiah promised, and that's the
way He identified Himself as promise by the Bible, He'd do the same thing now.
Wouldn't He have to do the same thing? You
say, "Did He say it's about healing the sick?" Yeah. The Hebrews, the
Bible that I just read from said that Jesus
Christ now is our High Priest that can be touched by the feeling of our
infirmities. How many knows that true? The Bible said that. He's a High Priest
now that can be touched by the feeling of our infirmities. Then if He's the same High Priest that He was then, how would He act
now? He'd have to act the same way
He did then, if He's the same High Priest. Now, you might... I'm not your high
priest. You might touch me, and it'd just be like touching your husband, or
your brother, or what more, a man. But you let your faith touch Him and watch
what happens.
Notice that Brother
Branham says that Jesus Christ is NOW
our High Priest. So what does that mean? And how is a High Priest different
from any other kind of Priest. These are things we ought to know, and if we do
not know them, then we need to find out. So tonight we will examine what it
means for Jesus Christ to be our High Priest.
Now to identify in
the scriptures what brother Branham is talking about, let’s turn in our Bibles
to Hebrews chapter three.
HEBREWS 3:1 ¶
Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider
the Apostle and High Priest of our profession,Christ
Jesus; 2Who was faithful to him that
appointed him, as also Moses [was faithful] in all his house.
Now, I want you t9o
notice that this Scripture is speaking of Jesus Christ Who
is the Son of God. The Anointed Son of God. That’s
what the Christ part means. Jesus (the man) Christ, (the
Anointed One). Now, notice that Paul says this Jesus Christ, this Jesus
who was the Anointed One, had a certain characteristic about him in the same
manner as Moses had. Paul says, 2Who was faithful to him that appointed him… Now,
this tells us then that he is speaking of the son of God, and not the God of
the Son. Because This Jesus the Anointed One, was appointed by someone.
Now, Jesus in
speaking to the twelve Apostles, says, LUKE 22:29 And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath
appointed unto me; sp we see that it is God the Father of Jesus, who
does the appointing for Jesus the Son of the Father. Paul speaks to the
Athenians at Mars hill and as we see in the Books of Acts.
ACTS 17:24 God
that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven
and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;
25 Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing,
seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all
things; 26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all
the face of the earth, and hath determined the
times before appointed, and the
bounds of their habitation;(Notice God appointing the time and
place) 27 That
they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him,
though he be not far from every one of us: 28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also
of your own poets have said, For we are
also his offspring. 29 Forasmuch
then as we are the offspring of God, we
ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone,
graven by art and man's device. (Not to get off our subject
here, but notice that Paul tells us that we are the offspring of God, and if we
are his offspring, then we should not think of God in terms of our own
imagination but in terms of a Father with a big family that has come forth from
Him.
Then if we are to
look at God in terms of the head of this great family, then we should not think
in manmade terms but in terms of Love, and beneficence, and caring, and
provision, and all those attributes which are associated with the role of a
Father.) 30 And
the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth
all men every where to repent (Now, we all know the word repent
speaks of a change of the mind, and that is the biggest problem I see amongst
people in this message. They have not fully repented in that they have not
fully come to the place of a true and full change of their thinking in respects
to the Godhood of God and His relationship to His Children and to His Only
Begotten Son.)
Now, let’s continue
with Paul’s declaration of God to the Athenians at Mars Hill. 31 Because he (God) hath
appointed a day, in the which he will judge the
world in righteousness by [that] man whom he hath ordained; [whereof] he hath
given assurance unto all [men], in that he hath raised him from the dead. Notice Paul tells us here that God
not only appointed a judgment to all men, but he also tells us that it God
appointed the man that He will use to bring forth that judgment, and he has also selected a
time for that judgment.
Thus we see that God
appoints or ordains those things for His Son Jesus to do. God appointed his
Son, He the place, He appointed the time, and the day.
ACTS 3:18 But those things, which
God before had shewed by the mouth of all his
prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled. 19 Repent ye
therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times
of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; 20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which
before was preached (appointed) unto you: 21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of
restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy
prophets since the world began.
Now, how did Paul
come by this knowledge? Because God did the same thing with
Him.
ACTS 22:6 And it came to pass,
that, as I made my journey, and was come nigh unto
Now, notice in GALATIANS 4:1 How Paul
attributes this appointing of a certain time to God in respect to His
relationship to His Children. ¶ Now I say, [That]
the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing
from a servant, though he be lord of all; 2 But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.
So we see that it is the Father that appoints.
Again, we read from HEBREWS 3:1 where
Paul said, ¶ Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the
heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High
Priest of our profession,Christ
Jesus; 2Who was faithful to him that
appointed him, as also Moses [was faithful] in all his house.
Now, that we have
established that Jesus the Son of God has been appointed by God to become the
High Priest of Our Profession, let’s examine this role that he is to fulfill in
being our High Priest.
Now the question
comes to mind, how does a High Priest differ from a priest.
Well, the title of Priest means to be in a role of intercession. But the High
Priest alone has access into the Very presence of God. He alone hath seen God
and hath declared Him unto us. In the old testament,
the only one who had access to the presence of God’s Shekinah
Glory, that Pillar of Fire that sat upon the ark of the covenant was the High
Priest Who had been appointed by God. The role of the priest was to take the
petitions of the people to the high Priest and He alone then would take the
requests right into the Presence of God Himself. And that is how no man can
come to the Father except through Jesus Christ.
Jesus Himself told
us this. He said MATTHEW 11:27All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man
knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the
Son, and [he] to whomsoever the Son will reveal [him].
Notice he said, all
things are delivered to me of or out from my Father. In other words, even this role
as the High Priest he received from God the Father. Remember, we are studying Who is This Melchisedec, and we found that brother Branham
said that Melchisedec was not Jesus, the Son of God, but He was God Himself,
the Father of the Son.
Now,
Paul tells us here that this teaching on Melchisedec is strong meat and is not
for children. Children should not be given strong meat because they will choke
on it. Therefore, any who can’t receive the teaching on Melchisedec is not
fully grown in the faith or Revelation of Jesus Christ. Now, we have already
mentioned that God is the One Who called Jesus to be the High Priest of Our
profession which is the same as our confession.. We
are told in the same breath that Jesus had to learn obedience to this calling.
Therefore we can see that God played out the role of Melchisedec in the Old
Testament for the purpose of giving instruction to His Son that when Jesus came
to the place of maturity, He would take over this role of High Priest and
follow in the example of His own Father. That is why Jesus always said in ….
JOHN 5:19 Then answered Jesus
and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of
himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what
things so ever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. 20 For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.
And in JOHN 5:30 we hear Jesus say, I can of mine own self
do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not
mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.
And again in JOHN 8:28 we hear Jesus say, Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of
man, then shall ye know that I am [he], and [that] I do nothing of myself; but
as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.
Therefore I
believe the importance of the Melchisedec ministry as high Priest or Priest of
the Most High God, was that the Father set forth the pattern and example for
His Son to come forth AFTER this same pattern or order. So we see the Father
acted out His own role as High-Priest in the old testament
to Abraham and then, in like manner, so has Jesus come forth to act out the
role of High Priest during the church ages.
The following quotes by William Branham, Vindicated Prophet of God will
bear out this understanding of Melchisedec.
HEBREWS

gives the right interpretation. For this Melchisedec, king of

Sure He was)…without mother,... (Jesus had a mother,
but this Fellow had neither father nor mother.)... without
descent,... (He never had anyone that He come off of,
any descent. He always was.)... without descent,
having neither beginning of days,... (He never had any time He ever
started.)... nor the end of life;... (It could been
nothing else but God.
292-23 The 3rd verse.) ... nor end of life;
but made like unto the Son of God;... (Now, He was not the Son of God. For if He was the Son, He had a beginning, and this Man had no beginning. If He was a
Son, He had to have both father and mother. And this Man had neither father nor
mother, but He was made like unto the Son of God.)... abideth a priest continually.
…He was a Person, not a denomination, not a priesthood or fatherhood;
He was absolutely a Man by the Name of Melchisedec, Who was the King of

CHAPTER 7 PT.1 57-0915E 305-93 Now, we want to notice here now again, as we
go on with this lesson of this Melchisedec, this great Priest of

Melchisedec that met Abraham coming from the slaughter of the kings. Certainly. The God of heaven, the Elohim,
the Great I AM, not the I was, the I AM (present
tense). "And He blessed him."
Listen here just a little further, so we can get the lesson a little
closer together. Now, the 4th verse... Now consider how great this man was,... (I just think that too.)... consider
how great this man was,... He's beyond the Son of God. The Son of God had
father and mother; He didn't. The Son of God had a beginning of time and an
ending of time; He didn't. Who was that? That was the Father of the Son.
That's Who it was.
HEBREWS
CHAPTER 7, PT.
2 57-0922 341-306 And this Melchisedec was not Jesus, for He was God. And
what made Jesus and God different, that... Jesus was the Tabernacle that God
dwelt in. See? Now, Melchisedec... Jesus had both father and mother, and this Man never had father or mother. Jesus had a
beginning of life and He had a end of life. This Man
had no father, no mother, no beginning of days, or ending of life. But It was
the self same Person; it was Melchisedec and Jesus was One; but Jesus was the earthly body, borne and fashioned after sin: God's
own body, His own Son, borne and fashioned after sin to take the sting out
of death, to pay the ransom, and to receive sons and daughters unto Himself.
You get it? That's the reason that He had a beginning; He had an ending.
Now, Jesus said, JOHN
JOHN 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth,
and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. 7 If ye had known me, ye
should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have
seen him. 8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the
Father, and it sufficeth us. 9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not
known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the
Father; and how sayest thou [then], Shew us the Father? 10 Believest
thou not that I am in the Father, and
the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of
myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth
the works. 11 Believe me that I [am] in the Father, and the Father in me:
or else believe me for the very works' sake.
Now, the thing I
want to impress upon our minds tonight is this. God has always been the
intercessor of His Own Word. As brother
Branham said, He Who gave the Word is here to confirm
it. And Notice the main thing about this role of High Priest that Jesus Assumed
from the Father is that He has assumed the role of Intercessor. Now, it is not
that the Man Jesus has some great mind now that he has been raised from the
dead, but we are taught in the Scripture to take no thought for what we shall
say, for in the hour of need the Holy Spirit will give us what we have need of.
And so too God never just turned over this role of High Priest to His Son
without equipping His Son to meet the intercessory needs of so many people. But
that same spirit of God which anointed His Only Begotten Son, and raised up that Son and is still in that Son making Him the
intercessor for our confession. It is the Holy Spirit of God,
that is still in the Son of God which makes Him able to know your prayers and
mine, and it is by this same Spirit that Jesus still ministers in the
capacity as High Priest.
Brother Branham
said, from UNVEILING
OF GOD 64-0614M Because God was in Him, made Him God. (Notice, because God was IN him is what made Him God.) And as Christ is in you, the hope of glory, you
become part of Christ.
SHOW US THE FATHER IT'LL SATISFY 56-0422 E-36 You see the Father express Himself through the
Son. Him and the Father were one in the sense that His Father was dwelling in
Him, not Him doing the works; He was a Son, Himself, the immortal, virgin
born, Son of God. And then in Him was
dwelling the God the Father, expressing Himself to the world, His attitude
towards the people. See? Well, that's
how Christ and God were one. God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself.
Now, He said, "When you see Me, you see the
Father, and why do you say, 'Show us the Father?'"
DIVINE HEALING 54-1219M 114
Thomas looked at Him, or Philip, rather, and said, "Lord, show us
the Father. Who is this Father You're going to?" He
said, "Why, I've been so long with you. You don't know Me?"
He said, "When you see Me, you seen the Father. The Father is in
Now, I hope you are
getting this. Brother Branham says of Jesus, “He’s not the Holy Spirit, but the
Holy Spirit in Him is what did the works. Let’s take another quote to further
explain what I am trying to tell you.
QA ON THE SEALS 63-0324M 520-2 {377} How
did it come that when Jesus in
So here we see Jesus speak of the Holy Spirit which is now
in Heaven, and yet we know that the Spirit of God came into Him and Abode in
Him. That does not make two spirit’s of God! He is
speaking of Life. God-Life. The same God-Life that was
in Him doing those God natured things, those supernatural things is the same
God-Life that came from the One who is in Heaven. Then we see brother Branham
make this a little more personal in this next quote.
QA ON THE SEALS 63-0324M 520-5
{380} It's not me could take a
little boy here laying--the doctors laying him on his back, with heart trouble
tonight, and say, "Thus saith William Branham..." No. "THUS
SAITH THE LORD, it's finished." And bring him down to the doctor the next
day and it's all gone. A kid with leukemia, till its eyes were bulged out, and
yellow all over, and its stomach... until they taken it to the hospital to give
it blood and things to even get it here; and in five minutes time, cry for a
hamburger, and take it back to the doctor the next day and can't even find a
trace of it. That's Thus Saith William Branham? That's THUS SAITH THE LORD. Yet He is an individual different from me,
but the only way He's expressed is through me. See? That's how Jesus and the Father was. Jesus
said, "It's not Me
that doeth the works, it's My Father that dwelleth in
Me." Now, the Son of man shall ascend from heaven, which now is in
heaven. See? What was it? He was omnipresent because He was God.
Therefore, when we
hear Jesus say, in MATTHEW 10:32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I
confess also before my Father which is in heaven.what he is
saying is whosoever shall say the same thing about me that my father says about
me, him will I say the same thing to my Father, that My Father also says about
me. The word confess here is the Greek word, homologia {hom-ol-og-ee'-ah} and means -- profession or confession and comes from the root of Homo-Logeo.
Now, notice that
this word homologea or homologeo
is a compound word made from the two words “homo” which means “the same”,
and “logea” or “logeo” which is derived from the word “logos”.
In other words this compound word means “the same Logos” or “the
same word”. And that is what our confession is all about. It is to say
the same thing about Jesus as God said about Him. And to say the same things
concerning His promises to us, that he said.
In other words,
Jesus is saying here, Whosoever therefore shall say the same words about me before men, him will I say the same words also before my Father
which is in heaven.
PRINCIPLES OF DIVINE HEALING 51-0923 E-31 Now look, in Hebrews 3 and 1, Jesus Christ
is a High Priest of our confession. He
is what we confess Him to be. And any
redemptive blessing that He died for, He's setting at the right hand of the
Father tonight, to make good anything that you accept in Him. My, I hope
you get it.
LUKE 12:8 Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me
before men,(say
the same words before men) him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of
God (Him shall also the son of Man say the same words before the
holy angels of God. Then Jesus tells us that those who are the opposite, or ay the opposite he shall say the opposite of
them to God His Father.) 9 But he that denieth me before
men shall be denied before the angels of God. 10 And whosoever shall speak a
word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be
forgiven.
Now, notice this
word “denieth” is the Greek word spelled
A.r.n.e.o.m.a.i. and is pronounced [Arnie?
Oh, My!] If I was
Mr. Schwartzenaeger, I would sure change my first name
real quick. Anyway the words means –“to deny
– to refuse, to abnegate, to abjure not to accept, to refuse something
that has been offered”. So we can see the concept that Jesus is
speaking here is one which accepts that which has been offered and says the
same thing about it as it that it was meant for. And the other word he used, arneomai, denies that which has been offered and does not
say the same thing about it that it was meant to be said. Now, this is
important because it has to do with our confession or profession. Are we
professing the reality of the Living God and are we saying what He is or not. Notice the apostle Paul speaks of this in the
book of Romans.
ROMANS 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,(If thou
shalt say the same thing about Jesus that He really is) and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath
raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth
unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Now, this is
important because, we are looking at a confession that is lined up with the
reality. If I say what is not real or true then what I say is a lie, plain and
simple. But if I say what is real and is true, then I am professing the same
thing, or confessing the same thing. Then my confession is just an expression,
or a declaration of what is actually there.
Now how does God
interpret His Own word? He brings it to pass. Then how do I know I have the
right interpretation of God’s Word? Because when I see it in the written Word,
and then see it manifested before my very eyes. Then I know I have the right
interpretation because I have witnessed the manifestation of that Word of
Promise. Then I know that I am a possessor of that Word.
Now,
notice how important that confession is. It’s got to be a right
confession because Paul first says, ROMANS 10:9 That if thou shalt confess
with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,(If thou shalt say the same thing
about Jesus that He really is) and shalt believe in thine heart (with
understanding)
that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the
heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession (saying the same thing as He really is) is made unto
salvation.
But what if you
don’t say the same thing that He really is? What if you confess a lie? What if
your profession is error? Notice how
important it is to say the same thing. Because Paul goes on to say,
Romans
Now, this is what the Baptists stand on. But
here's the key, He
says, "For whosoever shall call
upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. But, in verse 9 & 10 he said, you've got
to believe first in your heart that God raised up
Jesus from the dead and then you've got to confess it. And now he says, For whosoever shall
call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Therefore,
this believing and confessing is your calling upon the Lord. AT THY WORD LORD 54-1207 E-48
Only by your confession can you be saved.
That's the most powerful weapon that God put in the hand of man, is a committal
and a confession. It'll do it every time, if you'll believe it, accept it on those basis, and believe it and stay with it. Keep
confessing it.
But what if you are not sure of what you believe?
Can you be saved?
CONTENDING
FOR THE FAITH 55-0220E E-66 Jesus said,
"Except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom." You can't understand it. It's a mystic,
mythical thing until you're born again. There the very Life of God comes in
you. Everlasting, Eternal Life, Zoe, God's own Life
comes in you, and then you're a part of God. You're a Son of God or a daughter
of God. And then you see as God sees. You believe as God believes.
ROMANS
So then, the entire source and origin of salvation rests on this, that
God sends out someone, ( A true minister of the Word).
In other words, if
they are not confessing the same thing, then it is no confession at all. And if
Jesus Christ is the High-Priest of our confession, it is because we are
confessing what he is. Our Confession is bearing witness to what He is. And if
you do not understand the doctrine of Christ and have not BOTH, God and His
Son, then how do you know Who is doing the intercession for you, and then how
can you be confessing what the Father said about him if you make him a mere
badger skin. How can a badger skin make intercession for your confession. How could a lifeless body make intercession. Jesus the son is not lifeless or comatose as
they teach. What kind of mediator do you have that is comatose.
He is risen and full of the Spirit of God and in Him bodily is the fullness of
the Godhood of God. Now that does not do away with God Himself. It just means
that in every attribute and characteristic of the Father, the very Life nature
and attributes of the Father dwells bodily in His Son.
Now, Paul said, HEBREWS 4:14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is
passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son
of God, let us hold fast [our]
profession. 15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with
the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as [we are,
yet] without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in
time of need.
WHERE IS HE KING
OF JEWS 58-1221M 192 A high priest is to make intercessions in
the Presence of God. Jesus stands as a
High Priest to make intercessions, and He can be
touched with the feeling of our infirmities.
SIMEON AND ANNA 59-0211 E-28 You're acquainted with that story, how that
the Bible said that Jesus Christ, right now, is a High Priest. He's the only High Priest, the only
mediator between God and man. That's correct. And He's sitting at the right hand of God making intercessions. And He is a
High Priest that can be touched with the feeling of our infirmities. The
Bible said, the book of Hebrews...
FORMER AND LATTER RAIN 60-0303 E-47 Now, if you got an infirmity, does the Bible
teach... I'm going to ask these ministers that and you all. Does the Bible
teach that right now Jesus Christ is our High Priest that can be touched by the
feeling of our infirmities? Does the Bible say that? All that believe that, raise your hands. Is that right, ministers? Now, if
He's the same High Priest that He was then, only His corporal body sets at the right hand of the Father God, but
His Spirit is here working in His church. Do you believe that? And the
church, the morning star is reflecting His light. Now, when does that star
shine? Just... Not through the night, just at
daylight, just before day. That approaching sun brings forth that light.
I JOHN 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the
light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his
Son cleanseth us from all sin. 8 ¶ If we say that we have no sin, we
deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins,
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (That doesn’t mean to
hide them, it means to say for what they are. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make
him a liar, and his word is not in us .Look, none of us likes to
admit to having a carnal nature, but we all were born under sin, and came forth
to the world speaking lies. Then admit it when your carnal nature gets in the
way. And then move on with the Lord. People are so afraid to admit their guilt
it seems. It seems today people will do things that are wrong but just won’t
fess up to it. People are so afraid to admit they are human and have faults. No
one will admit weakness as if it is such a terrible thing. But didn’t Jesus say
the one who is forgiven the most will love the most. Then how can you love God
more unless you admit all the more your need for him to forgive you of your
faults and weaknesses.
ABSOLUTE AN
63-1201M 124 He is an Intercessor to make intercessions for our weaknesses, as we confess it to Him and die out to ourself, placing His Word back in us, the promise. And
our faith makes that Word live, because Christ is in us, the Quickener to the Word.
They won’t admit
their guilt when there is a full forgiveness for it. And that is what John is
saying. He is saying, admit it and place it under the blood, and then it will
be forgiven. But they won’t admit nothing, because of
pride.)
HEBREWS CHAPTER 6 AND 7 57-0915M 282-690 You want Christ the great High Priest, the
Intercessor for your sickness, or your diseases, or your soul. You might not understand it; we don't. But
we're commanded to walk in the Light as He is in the Light. You make one step
in the Light. And when you got the Light with you, the Light will shine to the
perfect day; It'll keep the path before you.
PARADOX A 65-0117 168 Now,
He's just the same today. You don't have to be here. Now, the Bible said that
in the New Testament now, that Jesus Christ is our High Priest. Do we believe
that? The only High Priest we have, the
only Intercessor we have between God and man, is the Man Christ Jesus. You
believe that? And the Bible said He is a High Priest that can be touched by the
feeling of our infirmities. Is that right? How many know that true? Raise your
hand so they... All right. I'm not among strangers on
this Word. Now, how would He act if you touched Him? He'd act the same that He did when He was here, because He's the same
yesterday, today, and forever. Is that right?
MARY'S BELIEF 60-0311 E-48 Now, if Jesus Christ is the same High Priest
that that woman touched with the feeling of her infirmities, and He's the same
High Priest, He will act the same. He will do the same if you can touch Him.
Now today, He's only... You can't touch Him with your finger; you've got to
touch Him with your faith. Is that right, brother? Is that right? Your faith is what touches Him. You can't
touch Him with your finger, because He's setting on the throne of God. How
many believes that Jesus overcome and set down on God's throne, and promised
that if we overcome, we will set with Him on His throne, as He's overcome and
set down on God's throne. That's exactly what He said.
GOD'S PROVIDED WAY FELLOWSHIP 60-0709 E-96 The Lord healed you, sister. You've had it a
long time, haven't you? It left you just then. What did you touch? It's the High Priest, the Light, that very Pillar
of Fire that followed the children of Israel, the very One that dwelt in Jesus
Christ. He said, "I come from God; I go to God." Paul met Him on
the road to Damascus, and He was a great Light again
that even blinded Paul's eyes. Let us bow our heads, every one now, softly
singing: There is a fountain filled with
blood Drawn
from Immanuel's veins; While sinners,
plunged beneath the flood, Lose all
their guilty stains. E-97 Remember now,
God is here. He's proved Himself present. You'll never be any closer to Him,
until you see Him face to face. All right.
JEHOVAH JIREH 3 60-0803 E-5 They say, "Is
Divine healing lasting, Brother Branham?" Just as long as faith is lasting.
When you get to a place that you say that you're not saved no
more, remember, you're lost your ground right there. When your confession goes down, then your faith goes down. And now, the first
thing that Hebrews says this that Jesus Christ is the High Priest making intercessions upon our
confession." And before God could do one thing for you, you have to first,
confess that He has done it. He's the High Priest of our... 'Course, the
King James says, "professing," and profess and confess is the same word. See? Profess that it is, or
confess that He is. See? Profess, I profess I'm a Christian, or confess I'm a
Christian. Makes no difference. And then, and the
woman touching His garment, it said, "Thy faith has saved thee."
PARADOX A 65-0117 168 Now,
He's just the same today. You don't have to be here. Now, the Bible said that
in the New Testament now, that Jesus Christ is our High Priest. Do we believe
that? The only High Priest we have, the
only Intercessor we have between God and man, is the Man Christ Jesus. You
believe that? And the Bible said He is a High Priest that can be touched by the
feeling of our infirmities. Is that right? How many know that true? Raise your
hand so they... All right. I'm not among strangers on
this Word. Now, how would He act if you touched Him? He'd act the same
that He did when He was here, because He's the same yesterday, today, and
forever. Is that right?
SPIRITUAL ADOPTION 56-0923 E-54
Merciful God this morning, as I plead for this audience, we don't plead
for a law. We don't ask for any law. We do not want to be judged by our own
merits. I do not want Your justice, Lord, no, not for
Your judgment to be come upon me, never, Lord. But I plead for Your mercy. He said, "Hear ye Him." Why should I
hear Him? He's the only One that has salvation. Mary, Joseph,
and all the other saints were great people, but only Him. Hear ye Him. He is the only Intercessor. He is the only Mediator between God and
man, is Christ Jesus. Why do I hear Him? The law could not give me peace; He can. Justice could bring me nothing,
only condemnation; He gives me peace and
reconciliation. The law could condemn me because if I get sick, the law
requires that I have broke the laws of nature. And the
justice of God is executed upon me, so I must pay the penalty. But I turn my
affections and my eyes this morning, from both law and justice, and look at the love of God Who
reconciled me back to Him through grace. Not through law and through
justice, but through reconciliation He
paid the price to bring man and God together to make them one.
GREAT AND MIGHTY CONQUEROR 57-0421M 27 And
then He came; He came down. Because He was in the beginning, the Bible said,
"He was the Word." He was the
Logos that went out of God. And the Logos, in the beginning, was the Word. And
He became the Word. Then when He ascended up on that glorious day of
Easter, He become not only the Word, but He become the High Priest of His own
Word. Oh, what a glorious thing, Brother Neville. Just think. He's not only the Word, but He's the High
Priest of His own Word. How could we doubt it? How could we walk to Him and
not believe that we receive what we ask for? For He is the Word and the Intercessor of
the Word. The Logos became
Word, and the Word made flesh; and the same flesh that was the Word, received
up into glory, and now's the High Priest making intercession by Himself to His
Word.
