ONENESS # 2

One-Mind equals One-Ness

AUGUST 9, 1992

Brian Kocourek

Last  Sunday we began a new message of brother Branham's which  I  am very excited about. This message is from his sermon on ONENESS which  used to be titled ONENESS WITH GOD. But we shall  call  it simply  ONENESS  for  that  is what  brother  Branham  called  it      Himself.

We read from PP. # 3 as follows:

3 ONENESS  62-0211 "I  was  here last Sunday night and spoke on  the  subject  of Communion  before the communion service. Communion is not  taking  bread, commune means "talk to, commune back, talk with someone."

We focused our attention on this thought of brother Branham's in introducing  this  message on ONENESS. Now remember that  we  are studying  the Message ONENESS, and oneness with God is the  theme of  his  sermon. So all our thoughts then must  focus  upon  this "ONENESS".  Yet here he begins to talk about his last  sermon  on communion and  he let's you know that communion is not just  some  form of worship of taking bread, but it means to communicate.

Now,  as I said last week, I believe that he was not saying  this in  vain.  So we see right from the beginning  that  ONENESS  has something  to  do with communication. Notice, he  says,  "Commune means  to <talk to, commune back, talk with someone.>" So  it  is not a one sided effort, as he said, to "commune back" or to "talk to  someone" which means there  must be a two  way  relationship, but it is focused upon one thought.

How  could you hold a conversation with someone who was  thinking different thoughts. When you commune or have real communion  with someone, you must both be in the same wavelength or shall we  say the same mindset, in order for you to have communion together.

I.CORINTHIANS 1: 9-10 God [is] faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of  his  Son  Jesus  Christ our Lord. 1:10  Now  I  beseech  you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak  the  same thing, and [that] there be no divisions among you;  but [that]  ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind  and  in the same judgment.

So  we  see then that fellowship is based upon  having  the  same mind. Now then who's mind do we want to have?  I certainly  don't want  you  to  have my mind. If you seek to have my  mind  or  my opinion  you will be lost, unless my mind and my opinion are  ONE  with God's mind and His opinion. I don't want my own opinion. And if  you  seek to have someone else opinion you will  be  lost  as well.  Our  opinions  mean nothing. It's only  His  opinion,  His thoughts  that  are worth keeping. So we must  get  ourselves  in neutral to our own thoughts.  It's what God says, that's what  we want to hold onto.

LUKE 9:24 – 26 For  whosoever  will save his life shall lose it:  but  whosoever  will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. <25>  For what  is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world,  and  lose himself, or be cast away? <26> For whosoever shall be ashamed  of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed,  when he shall come in his own glory, and [in his] Father's, and of the holy angels.

Now the word used here for the word LIFE is a Greek word PSUCHE: Now  the word PSUCHE generally speaking is the  individual  life, the  living being, whereas ZOE is the life of that being.  So  it refers  to  you  as  an individual,  set  apart  from  all  other individuals  by  your  own  special  nature  or  attributes   and  characteristics.  The seat of the personality, or the soul.

MATTHEW.11:29 Take  my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and  lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. That is PSUCHE.

Now  this word PSUCHE is also used in the scripture to  refer  to heart which also as we have studied refers to the mind.

EPHESIANS.1:17 - 18

That  the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory,  may give  unto  you  the  spirit of  wisdom  and  revelation  in  the knowledge  of  him:  <18> The eyes of your  heart  <PSUCHE>  your  understanding  being  enlightened; that ye may know what  is  the hope  of  his calling, and what the riches of the  glory  of  his  inheritance in the saints,

Now notice, it says, "That the eyes of your heart <PSUCHE> may be  what? Enlightened. And what does that mean? Illuminated. You come to  understanding. And understanding what? The Father  of  GLORY. Now don't forget, unless you receive what was spoken of in verses 13-14 which is the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, you are in no  way  ready  to  receive  the Spirit of Wisdom and  Revelation  in  the  Knowledge of Him.

So  it is dealing with the condition of your Soul, your heart  as  it says here, your PSUCHE

Now this word also is used in scripture to refer to the mind.

PHILIPPIANS.1:27 Only  let  your  conversation be as it  becometh  the  gospel  of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with  one mind <PSUCHE> striving together for the faith of the gospel;

So as I said earlier, we see that fellowship is based upon having the  same  mind. And as LUKE 9:24 - 26 said, For  whosoever  will save his life < his mind, his soul> shall lose it: but  whosoever will lose his life <his mind, his own thinking> for my sake,  the same shall save it.

Then  notice verse <26> For whosoever shall be ashamed of me  and of  my  words, of him shall the Son of man be  ashamed,  when  he shall  come in his own glory <doxa> , and [in  his]  Father's,<in his father’s what?> <DOXA> and of the holy angels. Not the unholy angels  but  the HOLY ANGELS. Their what? DOXA! And what  is  the Doxa? It's GOD's own opinion or assessment of Himself.

So  getting back to I.CORINTHIANS 1: 9 10 we read: 1:9  God  [is] faithful,  by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his  Son Jesus  Christ our Lord. 1:10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by  the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same  thing, and  [that]  there be no divisions among you; but  [that]  ye  be perfectly  joined  together  in the same mind  and  in  the  same judgment.

So as I said, fellowship has to do with having the same mind. And not my mind or your mind but God's mind. My opinion doesn't  mean one  thing to God and neither does yours. It's His  OPINION  that counts. What did He say about it. That's what we want to come to.

So  we see that brother Branham began this message on ONENESS  by letting  us know it has to do with communion which He says is  to communicate.  And communication or fellowship can only come  when both parties are in one mind and one accord.

Now  he would not be opening up this sermon with this thought  if this  was  not a very important principle for us  to  follow.  So let's see where he goes with this thought.

PP. 5  ONENESS 62-0211  This morning's message I'm speaking on the subject of  Oneness. And  I--I want to take my time and try to make it just as...  lay it out just as perfectly as I know how. And I desire your prayers as  you have gathered. <PP. 6>   And now I want you to  turn,  if  you have a Bible and like to read with me, to the 1st chapter  of Hebrews, first. And I want to read the first three verses of  the 1st chapter of Hebrews, and then Genesis 1:26 and 7, to tie  that together. And no man can say anything that's worth saying  unless God  helps  him say it. And--and that's along  the  Message  this morning,  too,  of  the ONENESS of the people  and  God.

Now in Hebrews the 1st chapter, we read this: God, who at  sundry times...  in divers manners spake in times past unto the  fathers by  the prophets, Hath in this last days spoken unto  us  through his...  by his Son, whom he has appointed heir of all things,  by
whom also he made the worlds;

"Who being in the brightness of his glory, and the express  image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when  he  had by himself purged our sins, sat down on  the  right hand of the Majesty on high;"

And  now over in Genesis, the 1st chapter and the 27th, 26th  and  27th  verse,  I read this. And God said, Let us make man  in  our image,  after our likeness: and let them have dominion  over  the  fish  of  the sea, and over the fowls of the air,  and  over  the  cattle,  and  over all the earth, and over every  creeping  thing that  creepeth  upon  the earth. So God created man  in  his  own image,  in  the  image of God created he  him;  male  and  femalecreated he them.

Now  why  would he read from these two scriptures? What  do  they both have in common? < ? > In Hebrews 1 it speaks of Jesus, that He is the brightness of the  Fathers  Glory.  What does that mean? He is the  effulgence.  The radiance  coming  forth from God Himself. And it says He  is  theExpress Image of God. Is that What it says? And What is God? He's the Word.

JOHN.1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

So we see that Hebrews chapter one here speaks of Christ, that He is God. The very out raying or emanation of God Himself. ONENESS. Pure  ONENESS  with  God.  Not two but One coming  out  of  as  a reflection of the Source.

Now  if that is what Hebrews is telling us. What then  about  the other  scripture  that  brother Branham is using  for  his  text.  Genesis chapter 1?

GENESIS.1:26 And  God said, Let us make man in our image, after our  likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over  every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27  So  God  created man in his [own] image, in the image of God  created he him; male and female created he them.

Now,  notice: And God said, Let us make man in our  image,  after our likeness: So God created man in his [own] image, in the image of God created he him;

Why?  Why? Why is brother Branham using this scripture? Why  does he tie it together with Hebrews chapter 1: Can you see what he is driving at? What is Genesis telling us?

God created man in His own image. In Genesis chapter 1:11 it says  that  every  seed must bring forth after it's kind  and  then  it tells us that God brought forth man in His own image. Now what is the image of God? What is God?

JOHN.1:1

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

So what Image did we come forth in? The Word! God's own image!

Now remember how he opened up this message. He first talked about communion. A ONENESS through communion, to communicate. But  then he went right from that thought to this one seed. WHY?

What is there about this communion and seed that tie together?

JOHN.8:37 – 48 I  know that ye are Abraham's seed; but ye seek to kill  me,  be cause  my  word hath no place in you. <38> I speak that  which  I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen  with your father. <39> They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children,  ye would do the works of Abraham. <40> But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did  not Abraham. <41> Ye do the deeds of your father. Then  said they  to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one  Father, [even]  God. <42> Jesus said unto them, If God were your  Father, ye  would  love  me: for I proceeded forth  and  came  from  God; neither  came  I of myself, but he sent me. <43> Why  do  ye  not understand my speech? [even] because ye cannot hear my word. <44> Ye  are of [your] father the devil, and the lusts of your  father ye  will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode  not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he  speaketh a  lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the  father of  it.  <45> And because I tell [you] the truth, ye  believe  me not.  <46>  Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I  say  the truth,  why do ye not believe me? <47> He that is of God  heareth God's words: ye therefore hear [them] not, because ye are not  of  God.

So you can see the tie between seed and Word or the communion  of  fellowship around the Word. He that is of God heareth God's Word.

What  a statement. A communion of the Eternal mind. God  and  His seed, joined together in ONE purpose, one thought, one opinion.

I JOHN 3:2 Beloved,  now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet  appear what  we  shall be: but we know that, when he  shall  appear,  we shall  be like him; for we shall see him as he is. <3> And  every man  that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

It  says  that  it  may not appear to be that  way,  but  at  the  Appearing  we  are  to come into the very  image  of  our  Father  because we see him and are changed to be like Him.

Why  do you think the Appearing is a period of time more or  less extended.  We've got some changing to do before we get  our  body change. Romans 12 says, we are transformed by the renewing of our mind. So our minds must be renewed first.

II PETER 3:15 – 18 And account [that] the longsuffering of our Lord [is]  salvation; I thank God for all of us in here this morning that it isn't over yet. He's waiting on us.

I JOHN.4:17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

Now  according to Genesis 1:11, how can we be as he is unless  we are  His seed. For God's law of reproduction says that each  seed must bring forth after it's kind.

And,  if he is the Word, then we must come into the  same  divine thoughts,  opinion, & assessment or Glory as our Father.  In  His image, and He is the Word.

PHILIPPIANS.2:2 Fulfill  ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the  same  love, [being] of one accord, of one mind.

PHILIPPIANS.2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

PHILIPPIANS 3:16 Nevertheless,  whereto we have already attained, let us  walk  by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.

ROMANS 12:16 [Be]  of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high  things, but  condescend  to men of low estate. Be not wise  in  your  own conceits.

I PETER.4:1 Forasmuch  then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh,  arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;

That  is  to cease from unbelief. And you know what  I  think.  I could  be wrong here, but I believe it will take that squeeze  to cause us to suffer in the flesh that will cause us to cease  from our  unbelief. I hope not, but at the rate we are progressing  it would take another 6,000 years to completely let go and let God.

I  think I'm going to enjoy this message very much. I don't  want  to  dwell  too much on this thought here because I want  to  move right ahead in this study to see just what brother Branham  makes of this thought on ONENESS. But if you will just ask yourself  in
viewing these two scriptures that he brought out as his text  for this message, you've got to see that he is going to bring us to a place we should know who we are, where we come from, and where we are  going.  So  let's read on and find  out  some  more.   Let's continue now as he prays:

PP. 8 ONENESS  62-0211 Now let's bow our heads just a moment as we pray. And I'm  sure that  there's  many  requests in the audience of  this  size,  so perhaps we just raise up our hand to God, who has a request,  and let him by this make it known that we have something that we want prayer for. God grant to each one of you.

PP. 9 ONENESS  62-0211   Lord, we have assembled under the roof of this Tabernacle,  and we  are thankful to have the roof over us today, but  our  coming together was for a greater purpose than this. We feel that by the promise of God we have assembled under the wings of the Almighty. That He, as a hen would cover her chickens, would protect us from all  that we are desiring Him to protect us from. That  He  would hover  over us and nourish us and would give us today  our  daily bread,  both physically and spiritually, that we might  have  the sustaining strength of body to walk about upon the earth, and the sustaining power of the Holy Spirit to bring the Word of God to a hungry people. And to leave here with It upon our lips and in our hearts,  with such fresh anointing Oil that we'd be able to  tell others of the day that we are living, and the condition of  time. God,  we are fully trusting in You. There is no other place  left that  no  one could go to. We feel as Peter did,  that  day  when Jesus said, "Will you go also?"........

10 ONENESS 62-0211  " He said, "Lord, where would we go? Thou alone has the Words of Eternal  Life."  And  that's  why we gather  in  Your  Name  this morning, because Thou alone has the Words of Eternal Life. And we pray  that You'll make this so real to each of us today that  our hearts  will burn within us. Our souls will be strengthened,  our  bodies  healed, our spirits healed, our souls made anew,  created after the fashion that God would have us."

I  would just like to stop here and say one thing. I do  not  say this  in  boast, God is my witness. But the manna  we  have  been feeding  on  these  past few years can not even  be  compared  to anything  else,  anywhere, in this message  with  the  exception, being those who see the same thing we are looking at. That Christ is  here. And I do not say this of myself, but what  I'm  telling you is that we are tapped into a fountain of Life, Eternal Life.

And In the book of  REVELATION.22:17

"And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is a-thirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely."

ONENESS,  tapped  into  the river of LIFE.  Bringing  forth  pure living waters of life giving substance called the Word of God.

You think I can get up here and preach the kind of messages  that have brought you into His presence week in and week out by my own power?  You would have to be crazy. It's not me. It's  God.  I've only yielded my mind to Him. My heart to Him. And all that I  ask
is for you to do the same.

Brother,  we sit here and hear what we hear week in and week  out and God opens up to us windows and glimpses of ETERNITY and we go away  and  remain  the same? There's  something  wrong  with  our thinking.

All I can say is what brother Branham said, "Me, I'm just a  man, my  words  will fail. We're not feeding on a man, a  man's  words will  fail. But we are feeding on the unfailing body word of  the Son of Man!" And He's here.

Where  else could we go, for thou alone has the Words of  Eternal Life.

PP. 11        ONENESS -- JEFF.IN -- V-10 N-2 -- 62-0211

Father,  I  pray  that You'll give strength to  those  who  are standing in the rooms and around the walls, and in the  vestibule around. I pray that You'll give them strength. And, knowing  this is going on tape, that'll go to many different nations, out  into the lands and the tribes of the earth. And, God, we are  trusting wholly  in Thee. Just give us the strength and the Word  and  the anointing,  that it might be just the way You would have  it  for this  hour. We commit ourselves to Thee now, our  listening,  our voice,  our attention, all that we are, we commit to  Thee,  that Thou  would move in us. Work through us and manifest  Your  great Presence with us. For we ask it in Jesus' Name, Thy Son. Amen.

What  is  he saying the purpose of this sermon is? "That  Thou would  move  in  us.  Work through us  and  manifest  Your  great Presence with us."         Then he continues....

PP. 12         ONENESS -- JEFF.IN -- V-10 N-2 -- 62-0211

The  word oneness means: "to be one with."  Oneness,  "united," And,  now,  this is quite a subject, and it deserves a  lot  more attention  than  I  am able to give it, and more  than  most  any person  on  earth  could be able to give. But  I  would  like  to express to you my opinion of it, and, with what God will give us.

Now, in this, it's teaching doctrine. And to the brethren who may hear  this tape, I trust that it will not be an offense,  but  it will  be  to  cause you to take  this  very  considerably,  under consideration,  rather.  That  you would  study  it  prayerfully, carefully, and weigh it out in the balance of God's Word, to  see whether it be of God or not.

PP. 13         ONENESS -- JEFF.IN -- V-10 N-2 -- 62-0211

For  I believe that that's the way we should do  always,  weigh things  with  the Word, because the Word is the only  Thing  that will  be able to remain. Jesus said, "Both heaven and earth  will pass away, but My Word shall not pass away." That's why I believe It, and to believe It to be God's program. I believe that is  the finished  work of God wrote out in Word. Therefore, that if  anything  would  be contrary to that Word, it could not  be  God  or God's  plan. I believe It is the program. Now, the Spirit of  God in the Word makes the Word live Itself, act Itself out. It brings the Word to life, like a seed.

Let me repeat this last statement in closing: Now, the Spirit  of God  in the Word makes the Word live Itself, act Itself  out.  It brings the Word to life, like a seed.

If we were made in the Image of God and God is the Word, Then  we must  come forth as this Word that He is talking about. When  the Spirit  of God comes into the Word, first in the prophet and  now in you and me, what will it do? It will make the word live itself out, and act itself out. It brings the Word to Life, like a  seed he said.

EPHESIANS.2:1 - 10

And  you  [hath he quickened], who were dead  in  trespasses  and  sins; <2> Wherein in time past ye walked according to the  course of  this world, according to the prince of the power of the  air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:  <3>  Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in  the lusts  of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh  and  of the  mind;  and  were by nature the children of  wrath,  even  as others.  <4>  But God, who is rich in mercy, for his  great  love wherewith  he loved us, <5> Even when we were dead in sins,  hath quickened  us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)  <6> And  hath raised [us] up together, and made [us] sit together  in heavenly  [places] in Christ Jesus: <7> That in the ages to  come
he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in [his] kindness toward  us  through Christ Jesus. <8> For by grace are  ye  saved through  faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the  gift  of God: <9> Not of works, lest any man should boast. <10> For we are his  workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works,  which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

                PP. 18 DESPERATION  63-0901 :

Now,  there's just not... No certain evidence. See? What  was  you before  this Token was applied? What are you after It's  applied? What  was  your desires before, and what is your  desires  after? Then you know whether the Token's applied or not.      ...PRAY...
