ONENESS  33

They go backwards

February 14, 1993

Brian Kocourek

The last few weeks we examined pp. 143 , "What was He?"

He not only was but is the Word.

JOHN 1:1

JOHN 6:63

Now  let's read further into this pp. 143 and examine  the  other  question brother Branham asks.

143 ONENESS  62-0211  The expressed image come, Jesus, the immaculate One, the lovely  One,  the fairest of ten thousands, the Lily of the  Valley,  the

Rose  of Sharon, oh, the Morning Star. What was He? What  did  He come  for? Listen close now. To re-establish oneness between  God  and man. Oh, do you see it, brother?

Now He asks the question, "What did He come for?" Then He answers  it  by saying, "He came to re-establish Oneness between  God  and man."

Now  if  we are to gain the understanding that  brother  Branham wanted  us  to  gain from this sermon then  we  must  take  these thoughts back to the scripture from whence they came.

First of all, he said that Jesus came to re-establish oneness. So we  must  ask  ourselves  what this oneness  is  and  how  is  it         established.

Now we have covered this Oneness and what it is for 33 weeks  now and  therefore for those who haven't been here I'll try to  break it down into a nutshell for you.

To have Oneness with God you must have the mind of God. You  must think His thoughts. Speak His Words. Live His Life.

JOHN 17: 14-26 <read> explain

This Oneness can only come by having the same mind.

PHIL 1:27,  2:5

1 COR 1: 4-10

143 ONENESS  62-0211 The expressed image come, Jesus, the immaculate One, the lovely One,  the fairest of ten thousands, the Lily of the  Valley,  the Rose  of Sharon, oh, the Morning Star. What was He? What  did  He come  for? Listen close now. To re-establish oneness between  God and man. Oh, do you see it, brother?

Now brother Branham says, "What did He come for?" and  the way he words this concerns me because it brings 2 questions to my  mind.

#1) Why is he pointing back to Jesus of 2,000 years ago.

Now to answer that  HEB 10:1, 8:5,

COL 2:17 These are types and shadows of things to come. When? This hour.

HEBREWS 13:8 and MALACHI 3:6

Now  we  should then read it as this. What is He and  why  is  He here.  Present tense. You see, what I want to attempt to do  this morning  is  to establish in your minds and hearts  that  brother Branham was not a Prophet looking back. A Prophet is a foreteller and  an expounder of the Word for His day. So when he  refers  to Jesus at His first coming, he is actually trying to get us to see what He is doing today. So let me read a number of quotes  before we go to the scripture so that we can hit them running.

E-2 AUDIO LETTER TO LEE VAYLE  64-0500 "Would  it  be, you think, advisable in here, to  say  that  God then,  in order to proclaim this, has to send a prophet in  order to  inject this, make this real again, show the people  the  hour we're  living in? Because if they only see it in the  hour  past,

then  there's no hope for the church. The church must see  it  in the present tense. So God sends His prophet to manifest,  present tense of it. You see? And then, after it's over, then history is.

Now,  you might inject that, Brother Lee. I don't know  whether that's any good or not, but it's just--just a thought right here.  Thanks a lot.

So  now if brother Branham is using the scripture  and  preaching past tense only then we have no hope. But I believe he was  using past tense to only help us to see what is happening in this hour.

So  let's  read these questions over again in the  present  tense because after all if He is the same yesterday, today and forever, then what He was back then He must be the same today. Right?

What was He? What did He come for[1]? Listen close now. To re-establish oneness between God and man. Oh, do you see it, brother?

E-59 WE WOULD SEE JESUS 62-0727  "  I  AM was the one that was with Moses in the  wilderness  in that  bush of fire before... St. John 6, "Before Abraham  was,  I AM," and that was a moral for all generations. Not "I will be,  I was,"  "I  AM" (present tense), the same  yesterday,  today,  and forever."

I  believe  it  was Winston Churchill who once  said,  "When  man forgets history, he is doomed to repeat it."

171 THE MASTERPIECE 64-0705 The Alpha has become Omega  172  The  Alpha and Omega is the same. He said, "I am  Alpha  and  Omega." He never say anything in between, "I am Alpha and  Omega,  the  First and the Last." That's it!   173   The  first  ministry  and  the  last  ministry  is the  same.  The  first  Message  and  the  ...last Message is the same thing. "I was in Alpha;  I'm  in  Omega.

Now  this is the problem today in this message as I see  it.  The people  do not see a present tense Christ. They see a  historical Jesus though a historical message. He isn't real to them  because they are still looking backwards at some experience or  something out  of  their  past.  Or  if  they  happen  to  be  one  of  the misfortunate  children  who've  been raised in  this  message  by parents who really never left the Pentecostal Message, then  they haven't  stood a chance because no doubt they have been taught  a hybrid  message. And onece it has been interjected with  something other  than the Genuine Word for the hour, it become  hybrid  and powerless.

The  main problem in this hour is no different than in the  first age. The people are always looking backwards and as a result they have completely missed the True meaning of the message.

59 Q A IMAGE OF THE BEAST  54-0515  The Bible said, "Three unclean spirits come out of the mouth of the beast." Do you know what unclean spirits are like? Frogs. Did you ever notice how a frog looks? A frog is always looking  backwards,  he never looks forward; looking back, always  back,  look back.

37 COUNTDOWN 64-0209  But  God  in the spiritual achievement is  going  forward,  not going  backward.  He's going forward, looking into the  Word  and believing  the promises for things that never has come  yet,  for the  spiritual revelations to manifest the spiritual things  that God  has promised. He sees them come to pass. Just as the  scientist  in his laboratory are working on different things  to  help man  take  in creation; the spiritual man is looking  forward  to something that God promised that has never yet been created.  The natural man looks backward. The spiritual man looks forward.

E-69 REMEMBERING THE LORD 63-0122  As  I've  made  the remark two or three times  since  being  in Phoenix,  it struck me so, men are that way. They  always  praise God  for what He has done, and looking forward what He  will  do, and ignoring what He's doing right now. They do it. They fail  to see it.

425-4 THE SIXTH SEAL 63-0323  Here  we are these denominationals twist it up. They  take  all the glory and power, place it back with the apostles and the rest of it over in the Millennium.

It's  just like a man, as I have said before, a man  is  always giving  God praise for what He has done, looking forward to  what He will do, and ignoring what He is doing right now. Exactly. Man is still the same thing.  There  were  them Jews standing there saying, "Glory  to  God." Why, as the 6th chapter of St. John said, "Our Fathers eat  manna in the wilderness." And Jesus said, "They are everyone dead."

35-2 THE INDICTMENT 63-0707 And that's the same thing they're doing now. They got a  church and  they believe in Jesus Christ, and say they do,  and  things, but  deny the hour we're living in! Still brings the old  proverb back again: Man always praising God for what He has done, looking forward for what He would do, and--or will do, and ignoring  what He's  doing,  and being condemned by it. See?  They  think  God's wonderful; how great He is; what He's going to do; He's going  to come; there'll be a rapture someday and go home; and denying  the very signs and wonders right here at the time that the  Scripture says  that  He will be doing it; miss the whole  thing.  "If  the blind  lead  the  blind," Jesus said, "they'll all  fall  in  the ditch."  Just  pray God to open our eyes in this last  days.  All right.

40-3 INVISIBLE UNION OF THE BRIDE  65-1125 Now  note.  And so everyone of us know that the whole  rank  of denominationals,  Pentecostal, and all, are dead--that is to  the born again Christians of the Message. Your first husband is dead.

E-38 ONE OF THE MEANEST MEN IN TOWN  61-0429 1B  See, they had their own idea about religion. They had their own idea  about God, but it was a million miles from the real  thing. That's  the  way  today:  We have our  own-made  creeds  and  our thoughts about it.

158 ANOINTED ONES AT END TIME  65-0725.1M  Notice! Remember, the shuck looks exactly like the wheat grain. See?  Now,  you couldn't say back there in the Lutheran  age  the stalk  was the wheat, yet it's got the Life in it. Stalk  is  all right.  The  Life in the stalk was all right, but  remember,  the

Life advanced on, advanced from Elisha to Elijah. The Life  keeps advancing  on.  But  remember, it's in another  stage.  It  can't remain in that stage! We can't eat the carrion of some other age. We  can't  eat Pentecostal carrion, Methodist, or  Baptist!  See, it's  become carrion. We have fresh Food, the Word of this  hour, so forth.

190 LOOKING UNTO JESUS  64-0122  We're  living ahead of that now. We are beyond  Pentecost,  the same  as  we are Methodist and Lutheran. We're way on up  to  the coming  of  the  Lord,  where  the  ministry  that  Jesus  Christ        exercised, Himself, has to be exactly. Like the headstone on  the pyramid, has to be so honed till every stone fits perfectly.  And the  church  has  got to get in that  condition  to  receive  the Headstone,  then take the whole thing in the  resurrection,  when the Body is raised up.

224 ANOINTED ONES AT END TIME 65-0725.1M  Remember,  you  couldn't  feed a Lutheran  back  in  them  days Catholic carrion (you can now). No, sir! He had fresh meat.  That was  that  church  age. You  couldn't  feed  Methodist,  Lutheran message.  Oh, no! He didn't want that carrion; it's  rotten.  See the  Life had done left it and went into something  else.  That's the  old  stalk  that's dead back there. The  Life's  moving  on. Neither can you feed the Bride of Jesus Christ Pentecostalism. No indeedy! Maggot blowed organizations, nothing doing! No, no!

215 ANOINTED ONES AT END TIME 65-0725.1M Notice! But after it gets rotten, maggots get in it, then  here comes  the vultures. They can't smell it till it gets rotten.  No wonder Jesus stood up there and said, "Jerusalem, you that stoned every  prophet... Notice that personal pronoun! See?  "Jerusalem, Jerusalem,  how oft would I (Who was He?)--how oft would  I  have gathered you as a hen would her brood, ..."

156 SEED NOT HEIR WITH SHUCK  65-0218  Let's  close  by saying this. Oh,  Pentecostal  hawks,  hopping around  like vultures, partaking of the world just like the  rest of  them does, having a form of godliness, enough to deceive  the very Elected if possible, but denying the power thereof, as  says the  prophet here, a perfect example of what God's Word  said  it would be in the last days,...she's changed from a hawk, a similar brother  to  a prophet to keep the Word of  God  straight,  she's turned to a vulture and feeding her people on dead ecclesiastical rabbits. That's exactly right! Wake up! My, how do you expect  to be identified--or heirs with the eagles when such things as  that in this great hour when the rapture is at hand.

24-2 THE EASTER SEAL  65-0410  No,  my brother, sister... you Pentecostal people, which is  my own  dear people, the church is losing its  identification.  It's coming  down and depending on some dead formal creed  instead  of flying in the heavenlies our here for fresh manna.  A hawk used to hunt his own manna, but today he takes what  the automobiles  run  over, and what the vultures eat. He  hops  like one. He looks like one.

131 SEED NOT HEIR WITH SHUCK  65-0218  Pentecost is like her denominational vulture sister setting now in large council seats of the ungodly (certainly!), listening  to her  worldly politics head, feeding her on vulture food  of  dead rabbits  of something that passed by fifty years ago. That's  the

condition of the Pentecostal church. Oh, my!

E-71 THE WORLD'S FALLING APART  63-0412.1M  And  that's  the way we do--Martin Luther, John  Wesley,  other men.  We're always looking back, see. See those things?  And  you make  a tradition of their life--garnish the tombs of  them.  And their  message is for another day. By the time you wake up,  why, that day's done lived by, and we're in another day.

195 THE WORLD IS FALLING APART  63-1115  God  sends  us prophets, and--and we put them  to  death,  just exactly like Jesus said they would do. Then we find out, after  a century or two, or a hundred years, or fifty years, God will send us a prophet, or a messenger, and, first thing you know, we  will criticize him and put him to death. Then after a while, after  he

is  dead, you know, a while, the church will wake up.  What  will they  do? They'll say, "Well, we will build a  denomination  upon that." That's what happened to the Methodists, Baptists, and  all the  rest of you, built a denomination. And the thing of  it  is, after he's done dead, and his message is over, we're done  living over into another place. Then you go back there, his message  for that  day,  and you're trying to go back there  and  garnish  his

tomb, when here It's going on right here all the time. You forget the hour!

28 WHEN THEIR EYES OPENED  64-0212  Many  today hasn't listened to the message, hasn't listened  to the  Scripture,  and  what Christ promised in  these  last  days. That's  the  reason  that people are in the  condition  they  are today, and the churches are all gaumed up among one another. They

haven't noticed what the Scripture said for this day. They didn't notice  these things had to be done. It's just the fulfilling  of the Scripture. Many people love Him. Many people believe in  Him. But  yet it's too phenomenal. They can't understand it. When  you talk about Him, to being just the same as He was yesterday, doing the same things, they claim they believe that. But when it  takes place, then they don't understand it. They just can't believe it.

29 WHEN THEIR EYES OPENED  64-0212  Notice. They were talking of Him when He appeared. Now,  that's a  good  thing. We notice here in the Scripture,  it  says,  "and while  they talked of Him..." While they spoke of  these  things, going  along talking about Him, sad, when they find out  that  He appeared. And when He appeared, He appeared unto them while  they were  going  along  reasoning about Him. That's  when  He  always appears, is when we talk about Him. Always through the Scripture, is when the people talk about God, that's when He appeared.

30 WHEN THEIR EYES OPENED  64-0212  Now  we're too busy talking about other things. I think  that's the  reason  many people who love Him fail to see Him.  We're  so busy  with our creeds, and denominations, and business about  the churches, and memberships, and getting more members, and  things, we're too busy to talk about Him. He's the Word. We're too interested in what some creed, some textbook, or something else  says. "How many members can we get in? Vote them in. Shall we take this one,  that  one, the other one?" We should be  constantly  giving ourselves  to the Word of God in prayer, studying the  Word.  But we're too interested in something else.

31 WHEN THEIR EYES OPENED  64-0212  These  people  were sad. They were talking, a great  thing  had happened.  He  had been taken away. But they were  talking  about Him,  and  there  He appeared. And when He  appeared,  He  was  a stranger to them. They didn't understand it. First He... First we find out that He was...

32 WHEN THEIR EYES OPENED  64-0212  As  they  walked on the road down to the little  city,  Emmaus, just  a few a mile or two down there, a sabbath day's journey  or something,  the  first,  He revealed the  promised  Scripture  ofHimself to them for that day. Now notice. When Jesus comes on the scene,  if we want to see Him and talk with Him after his  resurrection,  like they did, like they saw Him... The first thing  He did  to them was reveal Himself to them by the  Scripture.  Amen. That's  to  make it what? They were Hebrews.  They  believed  the Word.  And  He  revealed Himself, revealed the  written  Word  of Himself, what He was supposed to do for that age. Amen.

E-16 A TRIAL 64-0427  But  we find the people living in a glare of another light.  As Jesus said, "You garnish the walls of the tombs of the  prophets, and  you're the one that put them in there." See, they  build  up something  over a message, and live in that glare of that  light, and refuse to walk in the light that is of the day.

E-87 A TRIAL  64-0427  And if you'll pardon this personal thing, because it has to  be a personal witness and it must be true, because I know who is the

one we're defending, and He will know whether it's truth or  not. I believe that we're living in the last days, and the message  of another day will not fit this day. It cannot. It's got to be  the message  for today (not for what it was ten years
ago), the  mes
sage  for  this hour, the message for this generation.  The  Word speaks  it. And then if the Word promises, there has to be  something vindicate it.  And  that's  the reason they failed to receive  Jesus  when  He first  come upon the earth, is because they were living  under  a tradition.  And  Jesus told them, said, "Search  the  scriptures. They testify of me." Said, "We're Moses' disciples."

He  said, "If you were Moses' disciples, you'd believe me,  for Moses wrote of me. Look in the scripture."

76 IDENTIFIED CHRIST ALL AGES  64-0617 We  haven't got Sankey's message. We haven't got  Moody's  message.  We  got the Message of this hour! We  ain't  got  Luther's message  or  Wesley's  message. They were alright,  but  this  is another day. This is another promise. This is another church age. "Jesus  Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever!"  How  as

tounding  it is, how blind people can get, in the age,  but  it's got to be that way. "Lukewarm," in this age, the Bible said, "and they would be spued from His mouth," in this Laodicea Church Age.

313 WORKS IS FAITH EXPRESSED  65-1126  God, to the Pentecostal church of this day, the restoration  of the gifts; may, Lord, those man, maybe some of them present here, some of them hearing the tape around the world, may they  realize that  this  is the calling out of the Bride,  not  a  Pentecostal

message. The Pentecostal message was to restore the gifts back in the  Church. But this is the calling forth of the Bride,  another Message that was to come just before Sodom was to be burned.  Let them  understand,  dear God. Faith, I believe You,  because  It's revealed  by  Your Spirit through the Word of God  and  has  been vindicated and made manifest to the whole world. Certainly, Lord, in  the minority, always your groups are that way. But You  said, "Fear not, little flock, it's your Father's good will to give you the Kingdom."

156 GOD'S PROVIDED PLACE WORSHIP  65-1128.1M  And  remember--remember  how we just went  through  the  Church Ages? The messenger to the church always comes just at the  dying of  the  other  church age, always. The dying  of  the  Pentecost brings  forth the rapture of the Bride. See? The dying of  Luther brought  forth  Wesley. See? The dying of  Wesley  brought  forth Pentecost.  The dying of Pentecost brings forth the Message  now. Here,  it's  right  here, patterned all  through  the  Scripture.

There's  not a scripture in the Bible what hooks right  one  with the other. See? All these types[1]. I have no education, but I  have the  Holy  Spirit  that shows me  through  another  channel  that  teaches  me that from nature; and that's by the Word. Has  to  be the Word, brings His promise.

40 THE RAPTURE  65-1204  How  would...  What if Moses would've come and  brought  Noah's message,  "We  will  build an ark and float down  the  Nile?"  It wouldn't have worked. And neither would Jesus' message have  ever

worked  by Moses. And neither will Wesley's message ever work  in Luther  or Luther's message vise versa. And today,  we--our  last great  reformation  was Pentecost. And today  we're  moving  from that,  and the Pentecostal message won't mix with  this,  because it's  another day. It's all the Word of God, but  it's  building. Like  the  feet, arms, coming up, it's forming a  Bride  for  the

rapture.  See, It don't--don't displace them people  back  there; they  lived to their message. All them will come out that was  in the  Bride.  Just like life going through a stalk  of  wheat.  It leaves the wheat--the hull, but the wheat forms itself, like  the grain of wheat that fell in the ground.

136 THE MASTERPIECE  64-0705  Notice  here. The life that was in the husk, in the stalk,  and in the tassel, in the husk, all gathers in the seed. And the life that was in the stalk, went--one went to make the other. Justification  made a way for Sanctification. Sanctification made a  way for the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. The Baptism of the Holy  Ghost made  a way for the Holy Ghost Itself to come right down in  perfection, back to the Word again to manifest Itself.

187 MAN THAT CAN TURN ON LIGHT  63-1229.1M  No--yes,  sir! The clean rags--or the dirty rags of  yesterday, if you remain that Way, it's got to--it'll just become dirty rags all  the time. It served it's purpose as clothing, but  now  it's become  paper.  Justification served its  time  in  justification under  Luther, then it had to become sanctification through  Wesley. And sanctification served its time till it come the  baptism of  the Holy Ghost. And [1]the baptism of the Holy Ghost has  served its   time  until  the  Holy  Spirit--which  there's   only   one God--blends  into  the Church, or the Church  into  Christ,  that makes Jesus Christ reflected on the earth, what He promised  here in the Bible. Might not believe it. I can't make you do that. I'm only responsible for the Word[1]. See? That's right.

113 WHO IS THS MELCHISEDEC  65-0221.2E  The stages of the eternal purpose He had in His secret has  now been revealed. Notice, there is still three stages to perfection. Just  like He redeems the world; same way He redeems His  Church. He  redeems  the  people  in three stages.  Now  look,  first  is  Justification  like Luther preached[1]; second, Sanctification  like Wesley preached; third, Baptism of the Holy Ghost. That's  right!  Then comes the rapture.

196 GOD'S PROVIDED PLACE WORSHIP  65-0425.2E The  church  will come through justification,  through  Luther, through  sanctification, through Wesley; through the  baptism  of the  Holy  Ghost, or the Pentecostals; and go right on  into  the perfection of the Son of man, that when Husband and Wife will  be the same-self persons. God will be so manifested into His  Bride, His  Church, till they will both be the same. They are  one.  Now you see where we're at.

79 COUNTDOWN  64-0209  Notice,  the natural man even counts backwards. I said  he  did things  backwards.  He counts backwards. Watch his  count,  "Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one, zero!" See?

He  goes back and starts counting. See? He's all... Ten's  a  bad number. That's right, to start with ten, it's a bad number.

240 ANOINTED ONES AT END TIME 65-0725.1M  A  trinity  of  frogs. A frog is an animal  that  always  looks backward.  He never looks where he's going; he looks  where  he's come  from. See? Don't you see? Where was trinitarism borned  at? Remember,  three  unclean spirits, individual  spirits.  Are  you getting it?
