No Word no Spirit

168 ONENESS -- JEFF.IN -- V-10 N-2 -- 62-0211

"You say, "Well, Brother Branham, I spoke in tongues. I  shouted.
I did this." If you still got that kind of a spirit and deny  the

Word of God, you haven't got the Word of God in you, you  haven't
got  The Spirit. If you'll sit and hear the Truth  preached,  and look  It up in the Bible[1] and [1]see It's the Truth[1], and then refuse to do it, that's not the Spirit of God[1]. I don't care how much you (1) spoke in tongues, how much you (2) shouted,

(and I sure heard a lot of that last night). Usually the ones who
shout  the loudest don't have the foggiest idea of  what  they're
shouting about. I think they are just infatuated by the sound  of
their  own voice. They say they believe what Luke  preached  last
night, they don't even know what he was saying. If they did  they
would have humbled themselves and bowed their heads in shame. But
you can't tell them anything, because they think they understand.
First Words out of Brother Lukes mouth immediately following  the
message last night, he said, do you think any of them  understood
what I was saying? )

How much (3) churches you belonged to, or how (4) many times you
was  baptized,  or (5) anything else.
[1]The Word is  Truth.  That's
what vindicates the truth[1]. If you got all these other truths  and
then with the Word, amen, then you know you're coming home."

He  says, "No matter if you were so moved by the Holy Ghost  that
you  actually  spoke  in tongues, and no matter if  you  were  so
stimulated  by  the moving of the Spirit and  you  just  couldn't
control  your excitement and you shouted, no matter what you  did
or  felt impressed to do by the stimulation that comes from  God,
even  to  the point of being Baptized over again, or  from  going
from  one church to another searching for the Truth.   No  matter
what happens in your flesh, if you have all this great excitement
in  you and if you are caught up into  all the emotion  that  the
Spirit can bring, if [1]you deny just One Word, it shows you haven't
got a thing.

That  takes the evidence of the Holy Ghost completely  away  from
your flesh and places it in the mind and in the inner man. It has
to  do with your Soul which is the rational part of  your  being.
Notice  how  brother  Branham puts it. He says,  no  matter  what
excitement you can generate, and no matter what you feel in  your
flesh, if it doesn't come from this Word, it's going to fail.

I know a man who committed adultery by putting away his wife  and
remarrying another woman.  He asked me if it was all right to  do
it and I reminded Him what the Prophet of God said to him. He was
told by God's prophet to stay with his wife and not to leave her.
Well, he did it anyway. So when I challenged him as to why he did
it,  he  said,  "Well, I prayed about it". If  you  believe  that
praying  about it makes it right, then why don't you pray to  God
to help you rob a bank! The bible condemns that kind of stuff!

I  told him that there was only one reason he could  divorce  her
and  remarry, and that is if she committed fornication before  he
married  her  and she didn't tell him. That's  what  the  prophet
said. Period.

"Well,  I  prayed about it, and God said it would be  OK  because
after all He loves me so much." Ok, and who's voice did you  hear
it  in. The Voice of God said don't do it. Now did he hear it  in
God's voice or in his inner ear coming from his own desire. Yeah,
go  ahead  and  turn  down the Word in  favor  of  a  feeling  or

impression you get while praying. That just goes to show it never
was God (the Word).

I'm  not  just  picking on this one case. I'm just  using  it  to
illustrate my point. It goes to show that the One they are  pray
ing  to isn't God the Word. For if you met Him Who is  the  Word,

Then you would have a Word response.

Now  a  lot of People go to God with wrong motives and  they  get
answer.  Look at Balaam. God told him to go on down. But  if  you
read further in the story, God had an angel their to slay him. If

that's  what you want go ahead. I heard about a little  girl  who
was  really a brat. She was a cutie, but really a  handful.  This
little  girl, when she was about three years old, she  was  being
naughty and disobedient to her mother and so her mother sent  her
to her room to pray. She said, "Now go to your room and pray  and
don't  you come out until you talked to God and He's talked  back
to you."

Well, about fifteen minutes went by and the mother put her ear up
to  her daughter's door and listened in. She heard  her  daughter
praying  and  so  she peaked in to look. she  thought,  "Oh,  how
sweet." She was so proud of her little girl, she said, I'll  just
have to give her a big hug when she comes out."

So another five minutes went by and the little girl finally  came
out from her room and her mother said, "Honey come here". And the
little girl came over and sat on her mothers lap. And the  mother
said, now what did God tell you. And the little girl replied, "He

told  me to tell you that I don't have to obey you anymore,  that
you are supposed to obey me."

Now  that might be a funny little story, but it sounds  an  awful
lot  like  many people I've met who claim to be  Christians.  All

they want is for God to be their slave. To do their bidding. Like
He's some kind of servant.

I remember in Mpls, the fall right after I graduated, I went back
up to the campus at the
University of Minnesota to help the  next
group of Fellowship of Christian Athletes get started. There  was
this  gal who came back to campus who had cut off her  hair  over
the  summer.  I asked her why she did it and she said,  "Well,  I
prayed  about it and God told me it would be all right".

I  said, that wasn't God, sister, Do you think He would tell  you
something  from  this  Bible. I said, that wasn't  God  you  were
speaking to, that was the devil.

Well, many of my friends thought I was cruel and I was wrong  for
hurting her feelings. But hell will hurt a lot more than that.

You  know  I pray about being sensitive. In fact  I  was  praying
about it just this week and while I was in prayer, I was reminded

about  the Good shepherd and how brother Branham said, "The  Good
shepherd  will take a sheep that has a tendency to wander and  he
will break it's leg, and then carry that lamb around in His bosom
and feed it by hand for months, until the lambs leg heals.

Thus building a bond between the lamb and the good Sheppard.  And
as  these  thoughts  went  through my mind and  in  my  heart,  I
thought,  Lord, I sure want to express all the attributes of  the
Good shepherd, but that's one thing I've fallen short on and I've

never  done  that. I've never broken anyone's leg yet!  And  That
still voice that I've become so accustomed to hear within me,  He
answered  back and said, " no, that's right, you  haven't  broken
anyone's  leg  yet, but,
[1]you have[1] stepped on a few toes."  And  I
just had to laugh. He has a sense of humor you know.

How many nuns have prayed about entering the convent. Show me one
scripture  for  it.  How  many  men  prayed  about  entering  the
seminary. But It's death! yet they prayed about it.

One  sister  we know in Minnesota who left the Message,  cut  her
hair, and when she was challenged as to why she did it she  said,
"It  can't be wrong, God's still answering my prayers." Is He?  I

think  not.  My  bible tells me if you regard  iniquity  in  your
heart,  He will not answer your prayers. And Iniquity is to  know
to do right and you won't do it.

JOB 27: 8-9< read>

JOB 35:12-13 <read>

God  won't even pay any attention to it. He will treat you  as  a
heretic  is to be treated. He will just leave you alone. Did  you
know  that  God even considers a heretic in the faith  no  better
than a fornicator or a murderer?

TITUS 3: 10 NIV

"Warn  a divisive person once, and then warn him a  second  time.
After  that,  have nothing to do with him. You may be  sure  that
such a man is warped and sinful; he is self condemned."

VINES:  HERESY..  denotes  a choosing,  choice,  from  (haireomai
meaning  to  choose) and hence, "an opinion"  especially  a  self
willed  opinion which is substituted for submission to the  power
of  Truth  and  leads to division and  the  formation  of  fringe
groups.

GAL 5: 16 - 26 <read>

The  Vines concordance says of GAl 5:20: such erroneous  opinions
are frequently the outcome of personal preference or the prospect

of advantage.

JER 11:10 - 11 <read>

Notice,  they  have  gone backwards to the  iniquities  of  their
fathers.  Train up a child in the way he will go and he will  not
depart.  You all know what iniquity is. To know to do  right  and

you won't do it. Show's they are lost.

Psalm 66: 18 <read>

" If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me."

Proverb 15:29 <read>

What does it mean to be near. Try Present. or Presence.

Proverb 28:9 -10, 13, 26

How  can  a  person  put any trust in himself.  It  is  God  that
willeth and doeth the counsel of his own Will.

Proverbs 29:1

Don't take your chances on being stubborn to long.

ISA 1:15-21

God will hide His eyes from you. He will not answer when you  cry
out to Him.

John 9:31

God does not even listen to the request of sinners.

James 4: 3 NIV

"When  you  ask, you do not receive, because you ask  with  wrong
motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures."

PSALM 106: 13 - 15 NIV

" But they soon forgot what he had done and did not wait for  His
counsel.  In  the desert they gave in to their  craving;  in  the
wasteland  they  put God to the test. So He gave them  what  they
asked for, but sent them a wasting disease upon them".

I like the way it reads in the Amplified.

PSALM 106: 13 - 15

" But they hastily forgot His works; they did not earnestly  wait
for  His  plans  to develop showing respect for  them;  but  they
lusted  exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted and  tried  to
restrain  God with their insistent desire in the desert.  And  He

gave  them their request, but sent leanness into their  soul  and
thinned their numbers by disease and death".

169 ONENESS -- JEFF.IN -- V-10 N-2 -- 62-0211

"[1]How  can  the very God that wrote the Bible  turn  around  and
substitute  something else for His Word[1]? You Catholic people  who
said  that Peter was buried in your church, and his spirit  gives
you the rights to remit sins and things, how could Peter, a  Jew,

ever  stand  to have idols in the church? How  could  Peter  ever
refuse  to  say that the baptism of the Holy Ghost come,  and  he
spoke in tongues, and all those powerful things he done, and turn

back  around  and  says take a little wafer, and  God's  in  that
wafer? Oh, [1]it's ignorance, spiritual ignorance!

170 ONENESS -- JEFF.IN -- V-10 N-2 -- 62-0211

"Well,  [1]now you Protestants the same thing[1], walk up  and  shake
hands with the preacher, and say, "I accept Jesus as my  personal

Savior,"  and go back and live any kind of a life out of it,  and
go right on living with the world. Another tower of Babel."

171 ONENESS -- JEFF.IN -- V-10 N-2 -- 62-0211

"We're  coming  down to the end now. Watch. God  sent  the  Holy
Ghost, and [1]The Holy Ghost is God Himself. He's the One that  will
make the oneness between God and man[1]. Let's find out. Now let's--
now I want your undivided attention for the next five minutes  or

so. Watch."
