ONENESS # 46

You cannot denominate Oneness with God

APRIL 11, 1993

Brian Kocourek

I would like to continue in Oneness this morning. This is  number
46 in our series. But before we do let's go to the Word of God.

JOHN 20: 16 - 17 <read>

COL 3: 1 - 2 <read>

PRAYER

Now I do not believe this message this morning is what you  might
term  a typical Easter message. In fact I hope and trust  that  I
will  never  preach a typical message to you as long as  I  live.
What  I mean by a typical message is this. The world  looks  this
Easter at an event that happened nearly 2,000 years ago. And  man
has been preaching about that event for nearly the same amount of
time. Yet, I do not believe that in that first church age, it was
a typical message to preach that because it was a living word  to
them and they were eyewitness of His majesty. Yet after time  set
in  the  message  of His resurrection became  historical  to  the
people and no longer a reality to them.

Now  that  is  what has happened with the  message  that  brother
Branham brought in this hour. It has become common. Why? Why  has
it  become common. Because the old timers that kept it  alive  as
eyewitnesses  are dying off. So another generation is  coming  on
and to them the message is a historical one. God sent a man.  The
man came. He spoke 1100 sermons which the people believe to be  a
message from God and now he is gone. So all we have left is  some
tape recordings of these sermons and also printed material.  Some
are striving to revitalize the followers of that message by writ
ing  periodicals with pictures and telling the stories  all  over
again.  But  alas,  that is all that it has become  to  some.  An
effort to keep alive a message that once was life.

That is why I tell you that I can not and will not  by the  Grace
of  God bring to you a typical sermon. Because I  believe  Jesus,
when He said, "My Words are Spirit and they are Life". If all  we
want is some stories to make us feel good then why not just  have
a  television  to do it for you? That is what the world  uses  to
satisfy their feel good needs.

In  fact to many it has become their Guide and their  God.  Could
you  imagine the 23rd Psalm like this? Read along in  your  bible
please.

Psalm 23: (1) The TV is my shepherd, I have been found wanting.

(2)  It  maketh me to lie down and become of no use to  God.  The
greener  pastures presented are material wants. It leadeth me  to
the still waters, beer commercials.

(3)  It restores to  my soul the things of the world I  had  discarded as useless, it leadeth me into the path of  un-right-wise-
ness for their name's sake.

(4) Yea, as I flip through the channels of the shadows of  death,
I fear only evil. For the programs are with me in my sleep and in
my speech; the "club" and the door bars bring no comfort to me.

(5) It preparest a table full of vomit before me in the  presence
of  my enemies; it anointest my head with evil thoughts,  and  my
cup runneth over with them.

(6)  Surely goodness and mercy are nowhere to be found and  shall
escape  me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in my  house
alone with my TV set for ever.

I feel sad for those people who need it as they would a pacifier.

But that is even what this message has become to many. A  child's
pacifier. Read me a bedtime story pastor mom!

That is why I can not and will not resort to preaching a  typical
Easter  Message to you nor any message that is  Typical,  because
this  Word is Life to me and not only Life but it has  become  my

health  as well, and why not? Is it not the Tree of Life  we  are
partaking of? And what good would it do to have eternal life with
poor health.

PROVERBS 4: 20 - 22 <read>

I  think it is interesting to see the reaction Jesus had to  Mary
at the grave. He said, "Go, tell". Isn't that what Easter is  all
about.  "Go tell, my brethren, that I ascend unto my  Father  and
your Father, My God and your God.

What  a beautiful thing to say. The very first Words out  of  His
mouth, to any mortal being and He chose to announce His plans  to
them.

I  heard  Paul Harvey make a comment about this  meeting  between
Jesus  and Mary Magdalene right after His resurrection. He  said,
"Do  you know why Jesus appeared unto the women first?"  Then  he

said, "because He knew that if He told it to women first the news
would spread faster than it would from the men."

So He said, "Go tell." I like that, because we are His Bride  and
if we truly believe He is the same yesterday, today and  forever,

then  He  speaks to us the same Words this  Easter  morning.  "Go
tell."   "Go tell my brethren, that I am risen and alive  forever
more. Go tell them that I am here speaking to you still. Go  tell

them that My Father is your Father and My God is your God."

Do  you believe He is risen? Do you believe His Presence is  Here
this morning? Then what are we waiting for, "Go tell

COL 3: 1 - 2, 3 - 4 <read>

Now, I would like to pick up here in Oneness at pp. 172.

ONENESS PP. 172 <read>

Now, notice he says, "Man under the Devil's plan." The Devil  has
a  plan?  You bet! But what exactly is a plan? If Satan  has  one

where  did  he  get it? If Satan has one,  then  God  must  also,
because Satan can not do anything on his own. He only takes God's
things and perverts them for his own use. He is only a  perverter
of the original.

Well you say, he is the father of lies! And if a father, then the
originator of it. Well, That may be true, but what is a lie but a
Truth miss-told, or misrepresented. Right? Then what Truth? God's
Truth is the only truth there is.

Now  we  see  here that Satan has a plan and  that  is  to  bring
oneness  to the church through what? Brother Branham  said,  that
Satan would do it through education and denomination. So we  must
ask ourselves what education. In fact what is education any way?

Webster says, EDUCATION is the process of training and developing
the  knowledge, the mind, and the character.  Now that in  itself
is  not  so bad. In fact God does the very same  thing  and  even
expects us to do the same with our kid.

PROVERBS 22: 6 <read>

EPHESIANS 6: 4 <read>

2 TIM 3: 14 - 16 <read>

MATT 28:19 <read> Go Tell! Teach all nations!

In  fact  He would not have us do the same if it  was  wrong.  He
wouldn't  even  come close. God Himself is considered  the  Great
Teacher.

JOHN 14: 26 <read>

So we see, that surely brother Branham is not saying education of
itself is wrong. I believe what he is saying that's of the  devil

is  that  educating  the  people to  the  denominational  way  of
thinking.  Because  the  very word denomination  means  having  a
specific name or value. And the very nature of denomination is to
follow or attain to the same value that the group has attained to

or has followed.

JOHN 6: 44 - 45 <read>

In fact we can not even come unless the Father teaches us and  we
learn.  That  is why Ephesians
1: 17 is so important to  us.  The
Lord  descends  with a SHOUT, a military command. A  message.  We
must  learn  it. Then we come. So without a shout,  there  is  no
transformation. Remember, our transformation comes by the  renew
ing of the mind. <Romans 12: 1-2

He said, "Man under the devil's plan has tried to denominate  the
church into oneness."

So  we see the real culprit here is the fact they have  tried  to
denominate the church into oneness. They figured if they can  come up with a set value, then men will have the same value system and thus,  they will come into oneness. But that will never work.  It can't work. It's wrong to begin with. And he called it a plan  of the devil.

ONENESS PP. 172 - 173 <read>

Now,  catch what he does here. He says to try and denominate  the
church  to oneness is the plan of the devil. Then He says in  his
own  defense, "I'm just saying what He said, I'm  confessing  His
Word.  "Confess  means to say the same thing." Can  you  see  the

difference between the devil's plan and God's plan? He let's  you
know that Satan's plan is to educate by denomination. To  educate
to  a  certain value. But God's plan has always  been  His  Word.

Every  Word. " For by Grace are ye saved through Faith; and  that not of yourselves: It is the gift of God."

ONENESS PP. 174 <read>

Notice, by this time he doesn't say, educate, he says denominate.

That's what the devils plans are.

Now, as I said before, if that is Satan's plan, then it must be a
perversion  of  God's plan. So let's examine this thought  for  a
moment and search what plan of God's that Satan has perverted and
twisted for his own purposes.

God's intention has always been to bring His Elect into a oneness
by His Word.

JOHN 17: 20 - 22 <read>

Oneness by His Word, or His Expressed Thoughts or opinion. Having
the same Opinion and the same assessment of Himself. You know  we

never have had His thoughts concerning Him.

ISA 55: 8 - 12 <read>

His thoughts are not our thoughts. But fortunately for us we were
in  His thoughts before the foundations of the world and  because
of that we will come into Oneness with Him.

                    PSALM 40: 4 - 10 <read> "Go Tell!"

                    JER 29: 11 <read>

So we see that God's plan is to fill us with all of His thoughts.
But  the wicked have no room for His thoughts.

                    JOHN 8: 37, 43, 47 <read> understandeth.

                    Psalm 10: 4 <read>

The wicked can not take God's Word. They therefore do not put any
Trust  in God's Word. They trust only in their own  ability.  And

Trust is Faith.

Therefore,  they  have no Faith and as Jesus said,  because  they
have no place for His Word in their hearts.

His  presence  is more to me than words could  ever  express.  To
think  He has not left us alone. But He is here to make  sure  we
make it.
