Š 91 TOTAL.SEPARATION -- PHX.AZ -- V-3 N-20 -- 64-0121

Joseph, separated from his brethren, without a cause. Now, what
was the matter with them? He was not willing to be separated;  it
wasn't  his will to separate. But they separated themselves  from
him,  see,  from his bright, shiny dollar;  their  penny's  worth
couldn't stand it. They knowed they were patriarchs. They  knowed
that  Isaac was their... or, pardon me, Jacob was  their  father.
And they knowed that to be true. But Joseph was born... He could
n't  help it. He was spiritual. He saw visions,  could  interpret
dreams, and they were perfectly right. Whatever he said, was  the
truth. And his patriarch brothers, moved with envy, and sold  him
to  the Egyptians. See, they--they separated themselves from  him
because they were pennies. He was of a different quality.

So  is  a real believer today, he is of  a  different  quality.
They'll  separate themselves, (they don't understand It),  copper
from silver.

 93 TOTAL.SEPARATION -- PHX.AZ -- V-3 N-20 -- 64-0121

Now  we find out, they moved with envy and sold him. Why?  They
do  the  same  thing today. What it really was,  they  said  they
was...  It  was  for jealousy. They didn't want  to  break  down,
because that the quality in them were not the quality that was in
him.  And,  because of it, they were jealous, because  they  were
pennies and he was a dollar. See?

 94 TOTAL.SEPARATION -- PHX.AZ -- V-3 N-20 -- 64-0121

Now, if the penny would say, "Blessed be the Name of the  Lord!
My  brother,  dollar here, see, I can't make the change  that  he
does,  but  I will make what I can." That's that, we'd  go  along
then. God would get His program over.

 95 TOTAL.SEPARATION -- PHX.AZ -- V-3 N-20 -- 64-0121

As I preached to you, Sunday, the great symphony of God's  Word
being  beat out. The changes and junctions is only  God  changing
times, like the--the director in the symphony. When we see  these
changes  of  ages and changes of times, look down  on  the  Sheet
here, and you'll find out we're supposed to be here. They've  got
to do this; there is no way for them to keep from it.

 96 TOTAL.SEPARATION -- PHX.AZ -- V-3 N-20 -- 64-0121

And  the music, to a man that doesn't understand the  symphony,
what is it? It's a bunch of rattling noise. He doesn't understand
it. He is not even interested. He is wishing, "I wish they'd shut
up, so I could go home." He is not interested, 'cause he  doesn't
know the symphony. He doesn't know it.

 97 TOTAL.SEPARATION -- PHX.AZ -- V-3 N-20 -- 64-0121

But the Composer knows the end from the beginning. See? And  if
the director isn't in the same Spirit of the Composer, he  cannot
act it out, because it's all done by signs. And if the sign don't
vindicate It, how is the musicians going to play It? Amen! That's
it.

If the trumpet gives an uncertain sound, who can--can, who will
know how to prepare for war, retreat, or what doing?

π73

Š 99 TOTAL.SEPARATION -- PHX.AZ -- V-3 N-20 -- 64-0121

Look  at the Word and see where we're living, then you can  see
pennies, what they do. But you can see those who are  glistening,
watching,  and  knows the Word, and watching for these  signs  to
happen. [Brother Branham snaps his finger--Ed.] There it is.

Like  the little woman at the well, when He said, "Go get  your
husband,"  she said, "I have none." Said, "That's right. You  got
five."

She  said, "Sir, I perceive that you are a prophet. We  haven't
had  them for hundreds of years. But we know the Messiah is  com
ing, and He is going to be a prophet. That's what He will do." He
said, "I am He."

 102 TOTAL.SEPARATION -- PHX.AZ -- V-3 N-20 -- 64-0121

Oh,  the  symphony beat went just exactly right, from  the  low
plumb to the high. She ran into the city, and said, "Come, see  a
Man  who  has told me the things that I've done. Isn't  this  the
very Messiah that we've looked forward to?" Certainly.

See,  she understood what the sheet Music was in the  symphony,
that  separates belief from unbelief. Faith can only... Not  come
by a church; faith comes by hearing the Word of God, knowing what
It is. Now we find the same thing today.

 104 TOTAL.SEPARATION -- PHX.AZ -- V-3 N-20 -- 64-0121

Many people look at gifts. (In closing now, five more minutes.)
People  look at gifts, and they think, "Oh, what a great  thing,"
and they try to impersonate gifts. You can't do that. You just...
You can't make a--a--a penny be a dollar, you can't make it be  a
dime,  see, can't make it a nickel. It's a penny. But  if  you'll
just  recognize yourself as a penny, and go with the rest of  the
change,  see,  God can use you. We might not be able to  do  all.
There wasn't everybody...

78 QUESTIONS.AND.ANSWERS - JEFF.IN - COD 59-104 - 54-0103.1M

What you are... As I said in the beginning, what you are  some
where  else  is what you reflect here. What you  are,  what  your
celestial  or terrestial body is up yonder, what  your  celestial
body  is somewhere else is what you're reflecting back  here.  In
the  spirit land, what you are, is what you are here.  If  you're
still  vulgar-minded  and  so forth in the  spirit  land,  you're
vulgar-minded  here. If you still got malice, envy,  and  strife,
you're  in the spirit land with that, it reflects back here.  But
if your whole innermost being has become cleansed and purged,  it
shows  that  you've got a body out yonder (waiting)  that's  been
cleansed  and purged, and it's reacting back in the flesh.  Don't
you  see? See, there it is. "If this earthly tabernacle  be  dis
solved, we have one already waiting." See?

   THE.BOOK.OF.EXODUS  CHICAGO.IL  55-1005  Now, then sickness is
a  attribute of sin. It's what sin produced, was  the  attribute.
Like the tree, it bears the apple, it's a attribute of the  tree.
Now, if sickness is, and some people try to separate it, all  the
attributes  of  sin:  gloominess, weary,  temper,  malice,  envy,
strife,  they didn't have to make a separate atonement  for  each
one of those things. The one atonement taking care of all of it.
π73

ŠE-33 THE.WAY.TO.HAVE.FELLOWSHIP -- CHICAGO.IL -- 55-1009

There's  where  it is tonight, God has to give  it.  Then  love
produces a fellowship. Now when God said back there, the day that
sin had separated that Divine love, God told Adam and Eve not  to
eat  these certain fruits, and they did, and sin brought  separa
tion. And sin by separation brought hatred, malice, strife, envy,
is that right? What happened? They separated from Divine love.

And when you separate from Divine love, then you can't overlook
your brother's mistakes no more. You got to bawl him out for  it,
that's  right.  You  can't overlook sister's  mistakes  no  more.
Because  you've got away from that Divine part, that  love  part.
But  if  you really love the Lord Jesus, if sister,  or  brother,
does  something to you, "Oh well, that's all right,  they  didn't
mean to do it." That's the kind of love that Christ had, "Father,
forgive them, they don't know what they're doing."

25-1 SERPENT'S.SEED -- JEFF.IN -- V-2 N-4 -- 58-0928.2E

Adam  was the son of God. The Bible said that Adam was the  son
of  God, that pure beginning back there. Adam was God's son,  and
that jealousy and envy and everything could not come out of  that
pure  stream. It had to come through another place. And  it  come
through  Satan, who was a murderer to begin with. The Bible  said
he was--a liar and a murderer to begin with. There it is. And  he
killed his brother.

42 THE.UNCERTAIN.SOUND -- JEFF.IN -- V-16 N-3 -- 60-1218

And  yet, the man, somewhere down in him, somewhere in him,  if
he  could  only let that little... As I illustrated  it,  like  a
button. When a man is saved, that much of him is God. That's  the
little Light that comes in, to make him quit doing what's  wrong.
Now  if  you  can take all the malice and envy,  and  strife  and
unbelief, out, that little button-like of the Light and Power  of
God  will keep growing, growing, growing, growing,  crowding  out
unbelief.  And  you don't do it by  exhortations,  of--of  bodily
exercise.  You do it by a sanctified, consecrated Life, that  the
Holy  Spirit moves through you. I caught some of It in  a  place,
where not long ago...

E-65 FAITH.ONCE.DELIVERED.TO.SAINTS -- W.P.BEACH.FL -- 53-1129.1A

Here  comes  Cain.  Then he looked around and  he  seen  Abel's
sacrifice  was accepted, he become jealous. Then we find a  whole
lot  of  that today. Don't tell nobody but it is.  That's  right.
Jealousy. "Aw, they're a bunch of nitwits. There--there's nothing
to  them.  They haven't even got education.  They  don't  nothing
about...  How do you know? We got our degree. We know what  we're
doing." Well, go ahead. Let the blind lead the blind, they'll all
fall  in the ditch. That's right. We know all about it. Yes,  and
the first thing you know he goes over there and what he does.  He
becomes jealous. He becomes angry. Where did that come from? That
never come from God. That come from the Devil and he went out and
murdered his brother.

ŠE-63 GIFTS -- BROOKLYN.NY -- 56-1207

And  the  so-called church-goer will stand off on  a  side  and
because of personal praises of men or dignity of man-made,  self-
made things that they have; they'll criticize the Holy Spirit and
the workings of the Holy Ghost and call it fanaticism and try  to
oust  it out. And the very words before the Congress today is  to
stop such meetings as this. Here's the only thing I can say about
it.  And  I  say it as a servant of God. I say  this:  that  it's
nothing in the world but unadulterated jealousy. That's right.

E-59 JOSEPH.MEETING.HIS.BRETHREN -- JEFF.IN -- 56-1230

My, my. How pitiful. Why? It's because they are arrogant and they
hate  their  brethren without a cause, just as Joseph  was  hated
without  a cause. You see it? He was hated, not because  that  he
was  worthy  to be hated, because without a cause. They  did  not
believe him. He was living in a different realm.

And  I say this now, as our time is getting short. I  say  this
with  all trueness of heart. They hate the Church today that  has
the  supernatural.  It's jealousy. It's petty  jealousy.  And  it
exists among human beings. The disciples had it.

E-12 WHAT.DOES.TAKE.MAKE.CHRISTIAN.LIFE -- CHICAGO.IL -- 57-0113

Now,  realizing that this is no new thing to preach on.  It  is
something  that's  been preached on many times, but  the  way  we
approach it and the way that we take it. We take it still  think
ing that it is a Holy Spirit controlled church and yet we put our
intellectuals mixed with it and then we can get a  conglomeration
of  both Holy Spirit and intellectuals. And when the Holy  Spirit
desires to do a thing and degrades something, or lifts  something
up,  it  causes petty jealousy amongst the people,  which  proves
that they haven't got the Holy Spirit. Every man would want to be
in his place.

Now, in this the people have a reason because they have seen so
much denominationals and so many different dictators, as it  was,
spiritual  dictators  in the church to say thus  and  thus.

E-21 THE.SEAL.OF.GOD -- LONG.BEACH.CA -- 61-0216

Now, we find out that because that Cain listened to the  enemy,
then  what happened? He become the first murderer. He become  the
first  one  that had jealousy on earth. Tell me where  that  pure
line from God to Adam... That's the only connection. Adam was the
son  of  God. Bible said so. Then where did  that  jealousy  come
from? Where did that murder come from? Where did all that kind of
a  spirit come from? Out of Adam? Couldn't of. Come  from  Satan.
It's exactly where it come from.

Now,  we  find out he was the first murderer. And  he  was  the
first  one  to  have jealousy. Lucifer got  jealous  of  Michael,
brought  it right down to the earth and transferred it into  man.
And  Satan... Cain by taking on this evil, took the  first  mark.
God  marked him. No one was to kill him. Let him alone.  But  you
remember,  he--as  soon  as He marked him he went  out  from  the
presence  of God. Hold onto that now. Oh, we don't have  time  to
give it a real thorough study because, oh, brother, we could  dig
this  here for six months, see, never touch the outsides  of  it.
See?
π73

ŠE-22 THE.SEAL.OF.GOD -- LONG.BEACH.CA -- 61-0216

Notice,  he  went  out from the presence of  God  when  he  was
marked. Went to the land of Nod and got him a wife. Very type  of
the church. Goes out from God, 66 THE.TRUE.EASTER.SEAL -- JEFF.IN

-- V-14 N-3 -- 61-0402

And  it was somewhat that way with Cain, because he brought  in
the fruits of the field, and made his service to God, and it  was
rejected  because he did not come the right and precise way  that
God  had ordained him to come. But he had made his offering,  and
done  everything  religiously  just as his brother,  but  he  was
rejected. And because he was rejected on the spiritual side, then
it caused a jealousy to rise in him, because he was greedy.

72 REMEMBERING.THE.LORD -- JEFF.IN -- V-13 N-2 -- 62-1209

The  priest  of them days will also remember  they  sold  their
chance of Him, their chance to become His servant, to become  His
disciple,  to  become a convert to Him. They sold  it  for  green
poisoned  jealousy. They were jealous of His Doctrine. Why,  when
He was yet twelve years old, He could stump them any way; and not
recognize it, that that was Messiah. They could not do the things
that  He  did. And they were afraid that they  would  lose  their
prestige before the higher up-and-up people, and they sold  their
opportunity. And they're just as guilty as Herod was.

E-45 VICTORY.DAY -- SIERRA.VISTA.AZ -- 63-0421

And instead of coming and saying, "Well, wonderful. We see  God
in the midst of the people working. Let's do that." No, sir! With
greed.  And with jealousy--the same thing that Cain  has--he  re
quires the blood of his brother. He tries to wipe him out of  the
way,  get rid of him. "They're nothing but a bunch of holy  roll
ers.  They're  little..."see. You know what I mean.  That's  what
starts  the trouble. There's where trouble begins.  That's  where
the  broken  vows... There's where broken  fellowship  separates.
That's  the  thing that breaks up homes. That's  the  thing  that
starts  the wheel moving towards divorces. That's the very  thing
that breaks the fellowship.

 13-1 THE.THIRD.EXODUS -- JEFF.IN -- V-2 N-21 -- 63-0630.1M

Now,  by doing that, they were taken out of place,  taken  down
into Egypt later on. Now, the story of this jealous brothers is a
certainly a great comparison with the spiritual side of it today.

We  all are aware of that, that it's pure jealousy,  not  pure,
it's old dirty, filthy jealousy, see. There's no purity in  jeal
ousy, see it's nothing but filthy jealousy.

 13-2  THE.THIRD.EXODUS -- JEFF.IN -- V-2 N-21 -- 63-0630    When
they see the same Bible and the nature of the same God that wrote
the Bible, vindicating Himself and then turn that down without  a
reason, pure... well, pure as I said, it's dirty jealousy. Watch
ing God heal the sick, raise up the dead. The same God that lived
in the days of the apostles. The same gospel that they wrote  for
this  spiritual  journey. It's the same God that  does  the  same
things,  `til there is nothing but jealousy; has  excommunicated,
and, "we will not have it among our people," see, run them off.
π73

Š 14-1 THE.INDICTMENT -- JEFF.IN -- V-3 N-19 -- 63-0707

Now,  we  know that spiritually they're doing  the  same  thing
today, for they are doing it to--for the same purpose and in  the
same way that they did in the crucifixion of the Lord,  physical
ly.  They're doing it because of jealousy, because  of  spiritual
blindness, that they don't want to see; they won't listen to  it.
Jesus,  in His journey here on earth, He said, "Well  did  Isaiah
speak  of  you; you got eyes and can't see, and  ears  and  can't
hear." See?

 13-1 CHRIST.IS.THE.MYSTERY -- JEFF.IN -- V-3 N-7 -- 63-0728

That's  right. Stay right together. If the brother,  you  think
he's  a  little wrong (or the sister), say, "Lord, don't  let  me
ever  have  the  root of bitterness spring up,  because  it  will
affect  him, and it will take the Christ right out of  my  life."
That poison acids of malice, and jealousy, and hatred, that  will
just  take the Holy Spirit right away from you. It will  run  Him
from  the tabernacle here. It'll kill the Spirit of God or  drive
it  away from here, hurt your pastor; it'll do  everything.  See?
Don't  you do that! You just wax that much closer together.  Draw
up the... Take the buckle, as the brother testified (a  minister)
here  the other night about having a buckle (seeing it in  a  vi
sion).  That buckles on the whole armor of God; just put  it  on,
tighten up, move right up close to one another. Love one  another
anyhow.  Talk nice about one another. Say nice things  about  one
another, and then God will bless you.

 76 DOES.GOD.CHANGE.HIS.MIND -- JEFF.IN -- V-5 N-9 -- 65-0418.2E

And  now, we find always that when these natural and  spiritual
spirits  of  churches and organizations meet,  there's  always  a
clash. It's never failed to be so, it always clashes. Because  we
find  that in there is a jealousy, and there... In this  jealousy
it  causes carnal comparisons, impersonations. And we find it  in
today as it was then; when God does something for an  individual,
everybody  tries to copy just like God did for that person.  See,
it  causes  a competition, and it makes carnality. And  then,  if
they cannot (the other side) get the spiritual results, then they
take  it  by a political power or they  substitute  something  to
upset the people's mind to draw disciples after themselves.

 90 DOES.GOD.CHANGE.HIS.MIND -- JEFF.IN -- V-5 N-9 -- 65-0418.2E

Notice. And it's always caused the natural to hate the Spiritu
al.  It caused Cain to hate Abel; it caused Korah to hate  Moses;
it  caused Judas to hate Jesus; and on and on it goes. It  causes
the natural to hate the Spiritual, just as Cain at the  beginning
hated  Abel,  the one that God received the sacrifice  from,  and
tries  to destroy them. They try to destroy the  influence;  they
try to destroy everything, because it's nothing but jealousy.  It
started  in Cain and proved that it was jealousy, and it's  still
the same thing today when the natural, the carnal, and the  Spir
itual meet together. It proves it's Satan, no other way,  because
jealousy  comes from Satan. And then causes an  impersonation  of
the   Truth--somebody  to  try  to  impersonate  something   that
isn't--they are not ordained to do. How much of that have we seen
in these last days! Oh, my! How much of it!
π73

Š 37 DOES.GOD.CHANGE.HIS.MIND -- L.A.CA -- V-18 N-4 -- 65-0427

We  find in Abraham and Lot, the same thing, in a  choice,  be
cause  Lot went down, when the time come, when the spiritual  and
the--and  the  natural  church come in a clash,  because  of  the
herdsmen. They had to separate one for another. And whenever this
does, it sets up a jealousy.

 39 DOES.GOD.CHANGE.HIS.MIND -- L.A.CA -- V-18 N-4 -- 65-0427

We find out that jealousy become between the herdsmen of  Abra
ham and Lot, and they had to separate.

We find out that Moses and Korah had a clash, also.

Jesus and Judas had a clash.

 42 DOES.GOD.CHANGE.HIS.MIND -- L.A.CA -- V-18 N-4 -- 65-0427

Esau  and Jacob, before either boy was born, before  they  even
had  a chance to make a choice, God said, "I hate Esau  and  love
Jacob,"  for He knew what was in them from the beginning. And  we
know...

Keep that in mind, He knows what's in your heart. He knows what
you mean. No matter what we say, He knows what you mean.

And  it's always caused trouble. And they, the...  always,  the
natural always tries, since Cain destroyed Abel, the natural  has
always tried to destroy the effects of the spiritual. We find  it
the  same thing today, the very same thing today. It proves  that
it  comes from Satan, because it's jealousy and impersonation  of
Truth.

E-14 THE.ANGEL.OF.THE.COVENANT -- PHOENIX.AZ -- 54-0301

So, instead of that, they hated him, was jealous of him. A very
beautiful type of today. The spiritual church hated of the  half
brother  be...  for no reason at all. Where they ought to  be  in
love  that  we're having a great revival. Everyone  ought  to  be
loving God for that. But instead, without a cause...

E-46 THE.END.TIME -- PHOENIX.AZ -- 54-0307.1A

Notice, these two coming now, out of Genesis. Let's bring  them
up. There he was, Cain, as soon as he seen that God blessed Abel,
he become jealous. Is that right?

A religious worshipper becoming jealous. Now Cain died, but not
his  spirit. Then, he come over and killed his brother.  Is  that
right? Perfect type of Judas and Jesus again. See?

E-61 THE.END.TIME -- PHOENIX.AZ -- 54-0307.1A

Look, they wasn't even an organization like they was. They went
interdenominational.  They  dwelt  in  tents.  They  didn't  have
any...?... Hallelujah! They were evangelical. Ha-Ha.

Well,  now here, a voice come over to an old  back  backslidden
prophet over there. And said, "Come over and curse Israel." Could
you imagine? Both of them believing in the same God. One  wanting
to  curse the other one. He's jealous of him. That's... Them  men
died,  but that spirit still lives. God takes His man  but  never
His Spirit.

π73

ŠE-14 GREATER.THAN.SOLOMON.IS.HERE -- PHOENIX.AZ -- 57-0228

Notice,  and now how petty people can be. These disciples  just
like other man, two or three days later they found a man  casting
out devils, and he was getting the job done; he was doing a  real
job.  And the disciples found him, and just like man of our  day,
they said, "You come and join our denomination. You come hook  up
with  us  because you can't do this unless you go with  us."  But
they were just a little bit too late. God was already proving  He
was doing it. He heard Jesus say, "Whosoever will let him  come."
They were jealous because that this man was getting the job  done
and they could not do it.

E-60  JOSEPH.MEETING.HIS.BRETHREN -- JEFF.IN -- 56-123   So  like
little sissy petty's as we have today, little juvenile children's
ideas,  run back and said, "We found him, and he was casting  out
devils." And what was it? They were jealous, because he was doing
what  they couldn't do. They had got carnal. Their eyes of  their
understanding  was like Joseph's brethren, had not been  yet  en
lightened. So they come back, and tattled on him, and told Jesus.
And  Jesus said, "Let him alone. (Amen.) He's doing a good  work.
He's doing what I commanded you to do, and you failed to do it."

190 Q.&.A.HEBREWS.PT.1 -- JEFF.IN -- COD.HEB -- 57-0925

Now  let's  take  back to Cain. Could you tell  me  where  that
spirit and that meanness come from? If Cain... look, if Cain  was
the son of Adam which was a son of God, where did that evil  come
from?  The  first thing when he was borned, he hated,  he  was  a
murderer,  he was jealous. And now take the nature of his  daddy,
the  very  start  in the beginning, Lucifer, and he  was  in  the
beginning...  he was jealous of Michael, what started  the  whole
trouble.  How  many knows that? And Cain was the  nature  of  his
father,  which he was jealous of his brother and slew  him.  That
pure...  that  nature could not come out of that  pure  Seed.  It
come...  had  to come out of this perverted  stream.  And  notice
Cain, as soon as he was borned.

130 ADOPTION.OR.PLACING -- JEFF.IN -- AD.PT.4 -- 60-0522.2E

Then  he  got  jealous, "That old Jesus'  Name  stuff,  there's
nothing  to  It." That's right. And what did God do to  him?  God
sent  an evil spirit upon him to hate David, and he  hated  David
without a cause.

E-21 THE.SEAL.OF.GOD -- LONG.BEACH.CA -- 61-0216

Now, we find out that because that Cain listened to the  enemy,
then  what happened? He become the first murderer. He become  the
first  one  that had jealousy on earth. Tell me where  that  pure
line from God to Adam... That's the only connection. Adam was the
son  of  God. Bible said so. Then where did  that  jealousy  come
from? Where did that murder come from? Where did all that kind of
a  spirit come from? Out of Adam? Couldn't of. Come  from  Satan.
It's exactly where it come from.

Now,  we  find out he was the first murderer. And  he  was  the
first  one  to  have jealousy. Lucifer got  jealous  of  Michael,
brought  it right down to the earth and transferred it into  man.
And  Satan... Cain by taking on this evil, took the  first  mark.
π73 ŠGod  marked him.
See?

105 ONENESS -- JEFF.IN -- V-10 N-2 -- 62-0211

And  what  did righteous Abel do? He knowed that it  wasn't  no
such a thing as eating apples. He was the blood of his mother and
daddy, the life of Adam. So he brought a lamb, just like God did.
Hallelujah!  He kept the Word of God, and Cain was  jealous  with
him.

108 ONENESS -- JEFF.IN -- V-10 N-2 -- 62-0211

Oh,  God brought it down, said, "Here it is." And Abel  offered
the right one. Then he--his brother was jealous at him. Look what
he  did, he killed his brother. God raised up another  one;  like
death,  burial,  and  resurrection of Christ.  Watch.  God  then,
His...  What  did He tell Adam and Eve? "Go on and  multiply  and
replenish the earth." Scatter the human race all over the  earth,
so He could deal with them individually till He could bring  them
back together. Dealing with the people, individuals, each person.
But they didn't want it that way.

135 TAKING.SIDES.WITH.JESUS - JEFF.IN - COD 743-802 - 62-0601

Why did they do this? They were jealous of Him. That was what's
the  reason they tried to belittle Him. They were jealous of  His
ministry. And that's the reason they were trying to belittle. But
He  had the ministry of God and they knew that, but It  was  con
trary to their creeds, so they were trying to belittle Him.  Make
everything  He, every little flaw that they could find,  get  Him
out  of the way. They wanted Him to quit, they wanted the  people
to  denounce Him. They wanted to say, "Now, this  guy's  nothing.
Looky  here. Now there he is, he--he--he did this. And  you  know
that's  not  right.  We've been taught all of our  life  that  we
should believe the elders. And here he is, stood right there  and
bawled  that  elder out. He disagreed with the tradition  of  the
fathers,  and we been, and we ought to believe the  tradition  of
our  fathers.  We been taught that by each rabbi  all  the  years
through. And here this man comes around and disagrees with them."
See, "Why, the man like that ain't fit to be a preacher."
