Preparation #12 (Double unto her Double)
Brian Kocourek
Wednesday night we read from James chapter 5, and
examined the End-time attributes of the Bride.
JAMES 5:7 Be
patient therefore, brethren, unto
the coming ( parousia ) of
the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath
long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. 8 Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming (parousia)
of the Lord draweth nigh. 9 Grudge not one against another, brethren,
lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth
before the door. 10 Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have
spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of
patience. 11 Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of
Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.
Wednesday as
we examined this verse we saw that God is calling for a certain condition to be
in the Bride at the Time of the Judge. HE says, Be patient brethren, unto or until the ( parousia ) of the Lord. Therefore we are to be patient until the Parousia or
presence of the Lord. Notice this patience is necessary for us to receive the
Presence.
Now, why would he say that? Because
Peter also spoke of this lack of patience of those who were merely scoffers.
II PETER 3:1 ¶
This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in [both] which I
stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance: 2 That ye may be mindful of the
words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of
us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour: 3 ¶
Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers,
walking after their own lusts, 4 And
saying, Where is the promise of his
coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue ( nothing seems to be happening, everything
still seems to be the same) as [they
were] from the beginning of the creation.
5 For this they willingly are
ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth
standing out of the water and in the water:
Notice that
Peter speaks of a condition among the scoffers of impatience…. These men are
willing ignorant, and have no patience for what God is doing. And besides, they
don’t recognize the Presence of God when He is among them, anyway.
Ҧ Knowing this first, that there shall come in
the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, 4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? “all things continue””…
They are scoffers, which are also called mockers in
the book of Jude. JUDE 1:17 But, beloved, remember ye the words which
were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; 18
How that they told you there
should be mockers in the last time, who
should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
19 These be they who separate themselves,
sensual, having not the Spirit. 20 But ye, beloved,
building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, 21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking
for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. 22
And of some have compassion, making a difference: 23 And others save with fear, pulling [them] out of the fire;
hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.
24 Now unto him that is able to
keep you from falling, and to present [you] faultless before the presence of
his glory with exceeding joy, 25 To the only wise God our Saviour, [be] glory and majesty, dominion and power, both
now and ever. Amen.
Now, the attributes of theses end-time scoffers or
mockers are as follows:
#1) They will be void of the Spirit These be they who separate themselves,
sensual, having not the Spirit.
#2) They will separate
themselves. Therefore they will be proponents of absense,
not presence. Apousia,
not parousia. 2 Thess 1: 8-9, Hebrews 10: 25-26
, Hebrews 6:4-6, 1 Tim 4:1, 2 Tim 4:3-8,
#3)
They will mock and scoff at God’s Word, and
#4)
They will not be patient and
#5)
They will not see God’s Presence, nor understand the signs of His
Presence and therefore all things will seem to be static to them.
Now, let’s contrast these end-time attributes of the
false Church with the End time elect.
Her attributes as we discussed last Wednesday night
are as follows:
In order to do so let’s review again what Peter and
Jude tell us.
JUDE 1:17 But, beloved,
remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord
Jesus Christ; 18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. 19 These be they who
separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit. 20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on
your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, 21 Keep
yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ
unto eternal life. 22 And of some have compassion, making a
difference: 23 And others save
with fear, pulling [them] out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by
the flesh. 24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from
falling, and to present [you] faultless before the presence of his glory with
exceeding joy, 25 To the only wise God our Saviour, [be] glory and majesty, dominion and power, both
now and ever. Amen.
#1) She will
be patient, waiting on God, as God is
waiting for the precious fruit of the earth.
#2) She will be focused upon
what He is doing, for He told us to stablish our
hearts, and we know that the heart speaks of our understanding. The word stablish
that James uses is a Greek word which means to establish, strengthen and make
stable. Now, God does not do anything without a purpose, and there must be as
reason our understanding is to be made stable. I believe this has to do with
waves of doubt, that does not have a stabilizer, it
will be tossed to and fro in the raging waves of doubt. So we are told at the
time of the Parousia, we will need to establish our understanding, in order to
strengthen it, to make it firm, in order to keep stable during this time.
We see this also in Peters words, II PETER 3:1 ¶ This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto
you; in [both] which I stir up your pure
minds by way of remembrance: 2 That
ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy
prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour: God
wants us to superimpose His Word on everything we do. He said, That we may be mindful of His Words…..
#3) She will
not hold a Grudge :
Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye
be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the
door. 10 Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have
spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of
patience.
Grudge not : 4727 stenazo {sten-ad'-zo} -- groan
-- sigh -- with grief -- grudge, resentment, bitterness, ill will
or animosity
Notice it is those who separate themselves from the
Spirit that hold grudges… And how do we stay in the Spirit? Jesus said, “The
words which I speak, they are Spirit and they are Life.” Stay in the Word…
#4) we are told to be focused upon God’s Mercy as we
see in James 5:11 Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord;
that the Lord is very pitiful, and of
tender mercy.
Also we see the same attributes expressed in the book
of Jude1:20 But ye, beloved, building up
yourselves on your most holy faith, (Revelation) praying in the Holy Ghost, 21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking
for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. 22
And of some have compassion, making a difference: 23 And others save with fear, pulling [them] out of the fire;
hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.
24 Now unto him that is able to
keep you from falling, and to present [you] faultless before the presence of
his glory with exceeding joy, 25 To the only wise God our Saviour, [be] glory and majesty, dominion and power, both
now and ever. Amen.
Now, the reason why the elect lady will not hold a
grudge is because she knows who is standing at the door. Now, remember, the
door is the Word of God according to Jesus.
[John 10:9] And according to Peter, an entrance into Christ the Door
will be ministered to those who are focused on the present truth.
2 Peter
1:11-12 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly
into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour
Jesus Christ. 12 ¶
Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in
remembrance of these things, though ye know [them], and be established in the
present truth.
Now, notice, She, the elect lady knows who is at the
door, and therefore she has long patients to receive his Mercy, for that is
what her goal is.
In Luke chapter 18 Jesus tells us the parable of a
Judge, who feared no one, but when the widow woman needed mercy, she went to
his door and stood there in the darkness and kept knocking and knocking and
knocking at the door, until His presence came into view. Now, why did she do
this? Because she desired one thing, and that is Mercy from her adversary. She saw in this
judge, Mercy, others saw this Judge as unjust and fearing no person, but she
saw mercy. She was focused upon the
right attributes. And she had patience to receive her just reward, from this
Judge who was full of mercy.
Now, the bride sees the Judge is at the door, And this
Judge fears no man, and is called unjust by most, but is here in mercy, because
He always comes in mercy before the judgments fall.
Now, that we have established the difference in
attributes of these two groups of believers at the end-time, the Believer and
the make-believer, let’s see what happens to them and let’s see what God has in
store for them. On the one hand, the Elect lady is establishing her
understanding in the Present day truth. But, notice on the other hand, the
non-elect have separated themselves from the Presence of God and the Glory of
His Power. Now, to separate from Mercy is to reject mercy. And to reject mercy
brings but one thing and that is judgment.
TESTIMONY 50-0814 Now, remember friends, we're going to look at the thing right straight
in the face. God never sends judgment until first He sends His mercy. But after
His mercy, it's bound to be judgment. To reject the mercy is the bringing in of
judgment, always.
So we are looking at two things here. Mercy and judgment. Mercy, then judgment.
And if you do not accept the mercy there is only one thing left,
and that is judgment. Notice, mercy first, then judgment.
And that is exactly according to God’s Book of the Two Laws. Deuteronomy.
First let’s look at the law of Blessings in Deuteronomy 28: 1-2 (read)
Now, let’s look at the law of cursings
in Deuteronomy 28: 15 (read)
Now, this is the Book of TWO laws. That is a
double…. And at the end-time, the
non-elect are to receive a double times double curse…
REVELATION
18:4 And
I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye
be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. 5 For her sins have reached unto
heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities. 6
Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she
hath filled fill to her double. 7 How much she hath glorified herself, and
lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her
heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow. 8
Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and
famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong [is] the Lord God
who judgeth her.
Now, this is not an unjust thing. God has established
this in His word as we see in,
EXODUS 22:7 ¶ If
a man shall deliver unto his neighbour money or stuff
to keep, and it be stolen out of the man's house; if the thief be found, let
him pay double. 8 If the thief be not
found, then the master of the house shall be brought unto the judges, [to see]
whether he have put his hand unto his neighbour's
goods. 9 For all manner of trespass, [whether it be]
for ox, for ass, for sheep, for raiment, [or] for any manner of lost thing,
which [another] challengeth to be his, the cause of
both parties shall come before the judges; [and] whom the judges shall condemn,
he shall pay double unto his neighbour.
Now, God has always rendered a double portion in his
judgments, and in His Mercy.
ISAIAH 40:2 2
Speak ye comfortably to
JOB 42:10 ¶ And the LORD turned the captivity of
Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he
had before.
II KINGS 2:9 ¶ And it came to pass, when they were gone
over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall
do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha
said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me. 10
And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: [nevertheless], if thou see
me [when I am] taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall
not be [so].
James 5: 13-15 Healing and
forgiveness of sins.
Former rain
and latter rain are two different things. 379-1 RESUME.OF.THE.AGES - But
what about the true seed? It will happen just as we have said. The people of
God are being made ready by the Word of Truth from the messenger to this age.
In her will be the fulness of Pentecost for the
Spirit will bring the people right back to where they were at the beginning.
That is "Thus saith the Lord." It is "Thus saith the Lord"
for that is what Joel 2:23-26 says, "Be glad then, ye children of
Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God: for He hath given you the former rain
moderately, and He will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain
and the latter rain in the first month.
WHO IS
THIS 59-1122 The former
rain, the first one, when He was here, come down into this group that people
thinks is crazy, and confirming that the latter rain has been poured out in
these last years, and has formed this great full Gospel church. The former rain's moved right into it like God said and will both be in
the same month. Here we are: former rain with the latter rain.
380-1 RESUME
OF THE AGES - God isn't going
to plant a new Church, but is going to bring His original planting back to
original seed. He is doing it as stated in verse 23, by the teaching, or
"former" rain. Next will come the harvest
rain or rapturing faith.
II PETER
1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you
through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, 3
According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that
[pertain] unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called
us to glory and virtue:
