SUDDEN.SECRET.GOING.AWAY.OF.CHURCH -- JEFF.IN -- 58-1012 Some people say,
"Well, I go to church on Sunday morning. I listen to our pastor, which is
a fine preacher." That's good. I
appreciate that. Then you, or the

was in a vision, and I was standing upon a high place, and I was to see the
preview of the Church. And I noticed coming from my... I was standing more like
this way, facing the West, and coming this way was a lovely bunch of women--real
nice dressed, long hair fixed nice in the back, sleeves, skirts down neatly,
and they were all in a marching tune, like "Onward Christian soldiers
marching as to war, with the cross of Jesus going on before." And as they
passed by, I stood and there was something there, some Spirit--God, and He
said, "There is the Bride." And I looked and my heart was happy. And She went around this way, and passed around behind me. 31-2 After a while when She come back
this a-way, It said, "Now the modern church will come into preview."
And here come the Asian church up. I never seen such a
filthy bunch! Here come the other churches up of the different nations. They
looked horrible! 31-3 And I say this because I am duty
bound to tell the Truth before God. And when He said, "Here comes the

So help me, by the help of God,
that is what it looks like in His face. I just... I could have fainted.
I thought of all the trying and the preaching and the persuading--every one of
them with bobbed hair, and they were twisting and carrying on, holding this in
front. They come around where I was standing there with this Supernatural
Being. I couldn't see Him. I could hear Him talking to me. He was right around
me. But when they turned this way they were hold... just twisting and laughing
and going on, carrying on like that, holding this in front of them. Now me
standing in His Presence there, and His servant, and of all that I'd tried,
that was the best I could do. I thought, "God, what good did it do me?
What good did it do? All the crying, and begging, and persuading and the great
signs and wonders and miracles that You showed. And
how I stood there and go home and cry after preaching to them and things, and
what good did it do me? And then I have to present something like that for You for a Bride."
32-1
CHOOSING.OF.A.BRIDE -- L.A.CA -- V-2 N-28 -- 65-0429.2 And as I stood there looking, she passed on
by, and you could imagine--the back part of her with nothing on, holding this
in front of her as she went shimmying by like that to this twist, throwing her
limbs out like that in her... Oh, it was vulgar how she was carrying on--her
body shaking around like that!
32-2 You say, "What
does it mean, Brother Branham?" I don't know. I'm just telling you what I
seen. And when she passed by like that, I looked at her, and oh, I just got
real faint. And I just turned around. I thought, "God, then I'm condemned. There is no need of me trying any... I just
might as well quit." 32-3 And Mrs. Carl Williams, if you're
sitting here, and that dream that you told me about a while ago that you had
the other night that has been bothering you, there it is. The steering wheel is
taken from my hand. 32-4 Then, I just thought I just might
as well forget it; I was gone. Then all at once, I heard them coming again. And
coming upon this side come the same Bride that went around this a-way. Here
come them little ladies again, and each one of them was dressed in their
national garb from where they come from--like Switzerland, Germany and so
forth--each one wearing that kind of garb, all long haired, just exactly like
the one at the first. And here they was coming,
walking--"Onward Christian soldiers marching as to war..." And when
they had passed by the preview stand where we were standing, just all at once
every eye went that way, and then they turned back, and on they went marching.
And just as they started to going right up into the skies, this other one went
up to a brink of a hill and went down like that. These started marching right
up into the skies. And when they went to marching, I noticed a couple of little
girls from the back, (look like they might be of some foreign girl, like

O God, may this little audience, on this day,
wake up quickly, right now, before the end time comes, and catches it in this
condition. May we be, renew ourselves, as the Bible said, "Rise and shake
yourself. And ask for the old way, which is the good way; and when you find it,
walk in it." God, grant that we can find the old rugged way, when we can
stand together again, as hundreds, and join our hands together and sing. I will take the way with the Lord's despised
few.
I've started in with Jesus, and I'm going
through. God, help us to live that and
be that! Bless all these dear mothers
sitting here, Lord; knowing that they are mothers, theirself, with white roses
pinned on their coats, this morning, as a memorial of a dear old mother that's
passed beyond the scene. O Master of Life, bless them,
Lord. And may they be blessed too, and may their children's memories be as
theirs is with their mother, if she's gone beyond the veil, to a glorious
Heaven. Grant it, Lord. And some
morning when life is shutting off from our veins, and our breath is failing to
come to us, the veil will open back; she will come down, perhaps, to the end of

THE.SEAL.OF.GOD -- JEFF.IN -- V-26 N-4 -- 54-0514 Now look, one more little thing, if you'll
excuse me for making that remark a few moments ago, about--about the men. But, looky here, "Deceive the very elect..." Now, we've been hitting Lutheran, Baptist,
and so forth, and the Catholics, now let me get down
to you holiness people just a minute. See? I believe in holiness. You must be
holy. "Without holiness no man shall see God," not my holiness, His
holiness. And nothing I can do about; it's what He's done for me. Don't stand
in my own, 'cause I have none, don't ever try to have any. I don't try to--to
be. "Are you trying to hold on,
Brother Branham?" No, sir. I just turn loose and let
Him hold on. That's right. He's the One that's holding on. Just stay dead.
That's all you have to do. Just keep yourself dead. He will hold on. He's
already held on. He held there till He said, "It's finished." That
settled it. Oh, God is fixing to do the same. It's finished.

THE.MARK.OF.THE.BEAST -- JEFF.IN -- 56-0715 Listen. You can do without food a long time.
But you can't go without drinking. Eighty percent of your body's made of water.
The first thing God ever moved on... The Spirit of God ever moved on was the
water. And you can't go without water. And if your soul is
hungering to worship. Listen, mister, Pentecost and Pilgrim Holiness and
Presbyterian, Baptist, whoever you are. See? If you're hungering and you're
thirsting, satisfy your thirst with Christ. And make Christ your God. Don't
turn around and drink from these old stagnated cisterns. The first thing you know, you may act ever
so religious but your ears are sealed to the truth. And do you remember they
would be so close to deceive the very elect? And to reject the Gospel is to be
sealed with the mark of the beast. God marks you. And now what does it mean it
was in it? In your head. Your ears
on your head too. What is it? Your head is your knowledge. Faith cometh by hearing. Hearing.
Not some church rule. But the Word of God. Then if you
reject that, what happens? You're sealed...?...

GOD.MANIFESTING.HIS.GIFTS -- EDMONTON.AB -- 57-0805 Jesus spoke of the same thing in the parable
of the orchard. They sent one servant, and they run him out. And finally he
sent his son, and they killed the son.
But someone has to be a witness. God being just, He cannot put
punishment upon a people without showing mercy. Righteousness requires that.
God's holiness requires judgment, and judgment would
not be judgment without it had mercy to it. And God always sends mercy. And
when mercy is spurned, there's only one thing left; that's judgment.

WHY -- SHREVEPORT.LA -- 60-1126 Afraid of the new birth. It only makes you
a different person. If you're not a different person, then you're not
converted. You might be converted into a denomination. You might be converted
into a different atmosphere or something, but when you're converted to God,
then you live holy. I believe in
holiness. I can prove to you by the Bible, and I don't care what you do; you
cannot offer God a gift without holy hands, He won't receive it. The gifts in the Old Testament had to be
sanctified at the altar. The priest before he could go in to offer it had to be
anointed and sanctified, or the gift was refused. God
will not accept the gift by unholy hands. That's right. It must come through
holy hands or He won't accept it. Afraid of the new birth. What makes it? 'Cause it's kindly
messy to them, but it brings forth new life. I'm so glad.

PERFECT.STRENGTH -- JEFF.IN -- V-8 N-1 -- 61-1119 And the Bible said, "It's an abomination
in the sight of God." Do you know God can't change? He can't change. He
has one nature, that's holiness. He can't change. If you don't become like Him,
you'll not see Him, "Without holiness no man shall see the Lord." And
if wearing slacks is... makes God sick at His stomach and vomit, He's sick, and
abomination, "filthiness," how are you ever... got a spirit like that
in you and will ever get to Heaven? How will you get to Heaven with short hair,
when God said, "It's a shame for a woman to cut her hair"? She denies
the very principles of being a--a wife. God doesn't change. That's His Word,
friend, you better listen.
36-2
SIRS.WE.WOULD.SEE.JESUS - JEFF.IN - V-3 N-23 - 61-1224 Say, "I don't believe in holiness." No wonder you
can't. But the Bible said, without it no man shall see God. God's holy. If God
lives in you, you're holy, too! Tell me you can go out on these parties and
drink a little sociable drink. Why, the Pentecostals do that: go out on these
parties, and take them women out there and live in these places, and go down
and strip yourself off in bathing suits, and go in swimming before man, when
your husbands, and brothers, and sisters and so forth, and Pentecostal people
going out in bathing suits and calling yourself a member of the Bride? The
Bride of Christ don't do them things.
E-78
THE.WAY.OF.A.TRUE.PROPHET -- PHX.AZ -- 63-0119 God's holy. They that live by Him must live
holy. He is a holy God. The Bible said, "Without holiness, no man shall
see the Lord." That's true. His life is holy. And if his life is in you,
it makes you holy. Without it, you don't see the Lord. And look where she's
drifting to.
E-39
SPIRITUAL.AMNESIA -- BIRMINGHAM.AL -- 64-0411 God called his church and separated it from
the world for that very purpose. And He give it a law,
and it must be holy. He said, "I am holy, and you must be holy," and
without holiness no man shall see the Lord. God said that Himself. And He
called this people to be this type of people. But they had forgotten about it.
They had forgotten his laws, and they had forgotten their morals. The women out
in the street, Israelite women, out there each one expecting to be conceived by
the Holy Spirit to bring forth the Messiah--and then acting like that. Their
character was terrible.

bangs, also. He combs them down and puts a curler in them. Some of the most
sickly sights I've ever seen in my life is some of those kids out here today
with their bangs combed down like this, and colored bleached hair with some
kind of peroxide something and bleach in it, and roll it in curlers making
bangs. You big sissy! That is a horrible thing to say from a pulpit, but
judgment begins at the house of God. You don't even know whether you're a man
or woman. And I understand that our
E-59
BE.CERTAIN.OF.GOD -- CLEVELAND.TN -- 59-0708.2E Notice. This man stood
and looked at Abraham. Women in them days wasn't like
they are now. Every time somebody comes up in the yard, the woman's got to put
on her--her little shorts, and go out in the yard, and see what her husband's
talking about, butt into his business. Shame on you. Shame on you men. If you got more man about you to let your
wife do that, it's all right, I guess. That was raw. But I...
I--I don't take it back. That's the truth. Now, that's just the truth. I got little respects for a man will let
his wife do a thing like that: smoke cigarettes, and drink whiskey, and wear
those kind of clothes. Man's not measured by how big a muscle he's
got; he's measured by the bag in his knees of his pants where he prays. Man is
not measured by muscle; that's beast. He's measured by character. There never
was a greater man than Jesus Christ. And the Bible said, "There's no
beauty of Him that we should desire Him," little stooped-shouldered, thin
Fellow. But in Him was God--character. Man is measured by character. I seen men
that weighed two hundred and fifty pounds, throw a
baby out of a mother's arms and ravish her. And you call that man? I call that
beast.
79 A.THINKING.MAN'S.FILTER -- JEFF.IN -- V-5
N-6 -- 65-0822.2E Now, if there is a
theological filter for the theological thinker, and there is a church filter
for the church thinker, a cigarette filter for the cigarette thinker, there's
got to be a real filter somewhere for the real thinker. And God has a Filter,
and that's His Word. It's a Separator, for It's a
waters of separation for sin. Now, that's the thinking man or the holy man's
taste. And if a man goes through this
kind of a filter of the world, he--he's got a worldly taste. And like the
tobacco company, he gets more members in his church by pushing them through
this filter. You say, "There's more women goes to
church than there is man." That may be so. Now, that may be also true when
she can go and do anything she wants to. That's right! She will do--she will
join up with anything. But she went through that church filter. If she went
through God's Filter, she'd come out different from that. See? She couldn't go
through God's Filter and come out with bobbed hair. She just can't do it. Now, this is going to be a--a little bitter
maybe to somebody, but when she started through God's Filter, and It says in
there for them not to cut their hair, then what? She lodges on the other side.
If It said it's a sin for a woman to do such and she's
dishonorable to do such... If she wants to, he said... "Well, she's got to
have her hair cut!" Said, "Then shave it off then." And said,
"We know that that's a shame for a woman to have a head shorn," said;
"Then let her have her head covered." And her hair is her covering,
not a hat, lady. Her hair is her covering the Bible says. Shows she's a
Nazarite unto the Lord. Long hair to a woman means a Nazarite to the Lord. Now, we find that that's true. But we find if
the thinking man, so-called, in the world can smoke and still get his taste, he
ought to have sense enough to know he's getting tar from the tobacco. But
it--only what it's done is to sell him more--make him
buy more cigarettes. And the church
filter gets the membership and things like that when they let them get through
with anything and still belong to the church, they get more members. What if we
went to the churches tonight and filtered everybody out besides those who was
genuine Word-born Christians. There'd be a many a blank sermon up against a
wall tonight. True! Cause it went through the Filter. And if I've got one desire in my heart--and I
hope that everybody listening to me has the same thing--God, take me through
Your Filter! And as David said, "Try me, and prove me, and see if there be
any evil in me, then take it out, Lord." See? I want God's Filter. Don't
care what the world does, what the church has, I want to be a thinking man, to
think Who I'm going to be standing by one of these days for judgment. Notice, the tobacco company does it to sell
more cigarettes; the church does it to get more members. A woman with short
hair, wearing shorts would be caught in God's Filter; she could not go through It with short hair, because the Bible said she shouldn't do
it. She dishonors her head when she does it. We should know it. But she goes
right through the church all right, all the rest of them. I stand sometimes, not disregarding anybody.
I never speak personally about any person, but it's
sin in the church. You bear me record of that. I didn't say, "Miss
So-and-so is so-and-so, or Mr. So-and-so, or Reverend So-and-so is
so-and-so!" No, sir! I say sin is sin. If it's in my family, it's in me,
it's in whoever it is, it's still sin. Not as an
individual, I don't speak against individuals. I speak against sin. And I don't
care if it's in me or whoever it is starts through God's filter, any sin will
stop you right there. Notice. But the woman who wants to have short hair and wear
shorts or wear paint and anything, she can go right through a Pentecostal
filter just as easy as pie. Nothing about it. Right into death. Cause he that...
She said, "Well, there's no harm in that." If you love the world or
the things of the world, it's because the love of God's not even in
you." Down through this spirit
then, she can pull down into her soul things that isn't
of God and against God's Word if that's the taste in the soul. It can come
through the taste, see, taste... It can come through the think--through the
reasoning, "There's no harm in it. I have taste; I have feelings. I have a
feeling that this is all right." She come right
on down through that and right into her soul, if her soul is of that type. Shows that she isn't drawing through God's Filter. But if
she's got bobbed hair, wearing make-up, shorts, pants, looks like man, all of
these slacks and ever what they call them, saying those kind of things, and
doing those things, and living for the world, she will stop; she can't get
through there. No, sir! It'll stop her at the beginning. Notice, a man looking at her pretty red
lips, and painted face, and shorts, and--and bikinis and ever what she's got...
A real thinking man won't look at her. Now, a man that's a
church member will look at her, admire her. But I don't care how she
looks to the eye, a thinking man will turn his head.
Why? He's been through God's Filter, and he knows to look upon her is adultery
in his heart. He don't think she's pretty. Say,
"Isn't she a pretty thing!" Not to him it isn't. She's a filthy
looking, miserable Jezebel wretch to a thinking man. A son of God looks upon
her with shame that he even belongs to the family she belongs to. That's right!
"How could that be my sister and act like that?" See? She pulled through one filter, and he come
through another. He won't think she's pretty, not at all. That's not beauty to
a real man of God. Remember, one time
before the Blood of Jesus Christ become the Filter, as we will get to in a few
minutes, the sons of God looked upon the daughters of man that they were fair
and taken unto them wives. God never did forget it. Again it happened in the
march of
