False Brethren

Last week we spoke about the Message Vindicated and
wesaw how that it is God’s very presence that He did the vindicating of the
Message. Because Power and Presence are synonymous with each other. When you
have the supernatural taking place it is because the supernatural One is
present. Now, so far in our Alpha and Omega comparisons we have looked at the
following characteristics which took place in all three Exoduses under the
Pillar of Fire.
I)
There was a
system or organizational spirit that held the people in Bondage. eIt showed
it’s ugly head as either a civil or ecclesiastical organizational system.
II)
The people needed
to be delivered from that system of organization but were incapable of doing so
themselves, and so they cried out to God for help.
III) God therefore
came down Himself to deliver His people in each of these three
Exodus’s. Here we find the Presence of God
is the sole essence of each exodus.
IV)
At each exodus God
then chose a man to deliver His Message of deliverance to the people. The
Message was the avenue of deliverance. If the people followed that Message they
would be delivered. If they did not, they would not be delivered, and
furthermore, they would receive a temporary judgment for failing to obey the
Voice of God.
V)
The Message that
God came with He delivered first to a Prophet and then from that prophet to men
who would be faithfully taught. Then out from those faithfully taught men, the
Message would go out to the world and deliver the world from that organization
system that held them in bondage. This second part of the Exodus was the teaching
ministry of the Holy Spirit. This is the part that bring the people in. First
we saw how that in each Exodus the Pillar of Fire anointed a prophet to lead
the people out, using the supernatural Presence of God performing supernatural
feats that attracted the peoples attention to the message of deliverance. Once
the people came out of that system of bondage we then found in each Exodus God
removed the prophet Messenger but did not go off the scene Himself. Then came a
period of testing, where we find the Pillar of Fire remained on the scene in a
teaching or placing ministry. The First exodus with Joshua, the second with
Paul a teacher to the gentiles, and the Third Exodus we once again see the Holy
Spirit who is the teacher bringing men into a more fuller understanding of the
Message for the hour and being positionally placed as promised in God’s Word as
we see in Ephesians chapter 4.
VI)
We found that God
gave the Prophet of Each Exodus a Message of deliverance and then vindicated
that Message with His very own presence.
VII)
Once that Message
was delivered by the Prophet the prophet was taken from the scene and God
tested the peoples faithfulness to that Message. He did not leave the people
without a witness, for the Holy Spirit in the form of the Pillar of Fire
remained on the scene and anointed men who were faithfully taught by the
prophet Messenger to teach others. It is at this time we see the full rejection
and drifting away from the original Message that was Given by the Mouth of God
to the people. Because the Supernatural was pulled back in its fullness the
people were now open to testing to see I it is the Word that caused them to
follow the Messenger or the Supernatural itself. It is at this time that those
who faithfully teach the Message are rejected by the people because the people,
most of them came out following the supernatural, but paid no attention to the
Words that had been delivered by that Prophet messenger.
The Pillar of Fire remains on the scene after the
prophet messenger is taken off the scene but God leaves His word in the hands
of men who have been faithfully taught to continue to present that word before
the people. During this time false brethren come in and sit down among the
believers and bring in alongside of true doctrine destructive heresies, evening
denying the One that bought them.
This evening I would like to examine this scene of how
the false brethren come in, and what they do to take over the Message populace
and bring rejection to the true understanding of the Message for the hour.
VIII) False brethren among the people.
In the 1st
Exodus: There arises false brethren among the people who pervert the
message, confusing the people.
Numbers 26: 9 And
the sons of Eliab; Nemuel, and Dathan, and Abiram. This is that Dathan and
Abiram, which were famous in the congregation, who strove against Moses and
against Aaron in the company of Korah, when they strove against the LORD:
Modern
events made clear by prophecy 65-1206 P:48 Balaam, he couldn't see the difference.
Many can't. Pharaoh couldn't see it, though vindicated right before him. Dathan
couldn't see It. Dathan come out there, and he seen Moses and knowed. He went
out there, said, "You try to think you're the only one in the bunch. The
whole congregation's holy." God never did deal with--like that. He ought
to have knowed better than that. And he said, "Well, the whole
congregation's holy. You try to make yourself (If we'd say it today, the street
expression) the only pebble on the beach.” And Moses knew that God had sent him
down there for that. He just said, "Lord..." fell in the doorway of
the tabernacle.And God said, "Separate yourself with him." And He
swallowed them up.
Who
do you say this is? 64-1227 P:65 Now, Satan, he didn't believe It. Dathan... He got Dathan and them
not to believe It, caused all of them to perish.But you say, "Wait a
minute, Brother Branham, you said three: Moses, Joshua, and Caleb." That's
exactly right. That's what there was. "But here you only say two. Are you
saying here that there was a..."You say, "The supernatural Satan..."
But there was supernatural God too, anointing these three. Now, Satan's only
anointed. But the other one's coming; the other one's coming; just watch for a
few minutes. He comes on the scene; his name's Balaam. He's a money-loving
prophet (so-called prophet), false prophet.
2nd Exodus: There arises false brethren
among the people who pervert the message, confusing the people.
Galatians 3:1 O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you,
that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been
evidently set forth, crucified among you?
Galatians 1:6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from
him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 7 Which
is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the
gospel of Christ. 8 But though we, or an angel from
heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto
you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so
say I now again, If any man preach any other
gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. 10 For
do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased
men, I should not be the servant of Christ. 11 But
I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. 12 For I neither received it of man, neither was
I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus
Christ
Acts 15:1 And certain men which came
down from
Galatians 2:1 Then fourteen years after I went up again to
Jerusalem with Barnabas, and took Titus with me also.2 And I went up by revelation, and communicated
unto them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to them
which were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run, in vain. 3 But neither Titus, who was with me, being a
Greek, was compelled to be circumcised:4 And that
because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out
our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:5 To whom we gave place by subjection, no, not
for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.6 But
of these who seemed to be somewhat, (whatsoever they were, it maketh no matter
to me: God accepteth no man's person:) for they who seemed to be somewhat in conference added nothing to me:7 But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of
the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel
of the circumcision was unto Peter;8 (For
he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision,
the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles:)9 And
when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace
that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of
fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen,
and they unto the circumcision.10 Only they would that we should remember the poor; the same
which I also was forward to do.11 But when Peter
was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed.12 For before that certain came from James, he
did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated
himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision.13 And
the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was
carried away with their dissimulation. 14 But when
I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I
said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a
Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why
compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?15 We
who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles,16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the
works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in
Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the
works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.17 But
if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found
sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin?
God forbid.18 For if I build again the things which
I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.19 For I
through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.20 I
am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in
me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son
of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.21 I
do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come
by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

Corinthians 11: 26In
journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine
own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in
the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;
2 Corinthians 11:1 Would to God ye could bear with
me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me.
2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused
you to one husband, that I may present you as a
chaste virgin to Christ. 3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the
serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted
from the simplicity that is in Christ. 4 For if he that cometh
preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if
ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which
ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
5 For I suppose I was not a whit behind the very chiefest apostles.
[ 2 Cor 11: 1 - 4] These men came in and brought with them
false teaching which also introduced the people to a false Gospel, which then
brought the people to believe in a false Jesus and thus gave them a new birth
but a false new birth which was not the Spirit of God but another spirit which
was a false spirit. And who were these men?
And then let’s
forward to verse 13.
13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming
themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan
himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be
transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to
their works.
In [ verses 13 - 15] Paul tells us they are Satan's ministers,
posing as ministers of Righteousness. Now to you this may be puzzling but to
God it is not. He has warned His people from the very beginning to be careful
what they hear and to whom they listen to. We see also that this false spirit
comes via a false word, and thus a false new birth takes place. Not a new birth
by an incorruptible Word but a false birth by a false word, bringing forth a
corruptible life. And this brings us back to what Jesus said about being Truly
born again of the Spirit of God. If we are born of the Spirit of God and God's
Spirit is His Word, then our new birth can only come by God's Word becoming
alive in us, quickened by His very Presence. [ 1 Peter 1 : 23 ] And so here in
1 Peter we see two forms of a new birth. One form is Corruptible, and the other
which is not corruptible is by the Word of God entering in and setting your
Soul aflame. Hat is why we find in [ 2 Peter 1: 2 - 4] That every thing we have
need of in this life comes through the Word of God. Even the Divine nature
which is God's own Nature in us. Therefore you can not escape the fact that
every thing must come back to this Word. We van not go by feelings, we must go
by the Word of God. Brother Branham many times said, " the Bible never
asked you if you feel it, it asked you if you believed it." And that is
the crux of the situation.
[ 2 Cor 11: 1 - 4] These men came in and brought with them
false teaching which also introduced the people to a false Gospel, which then
brought the people to believe in a false Jesus and thus gave them a new birth
but a false new birth which was not the Spirit of God but another spirit which
was a false spirit. And who were these men? In [ verses
13 - 15] Paul tells us they are Satan's ministers, posing as ministers
of Righteousness. Now to you this may be puzzling but to God it is not. He has
warned His people from the very beginning to be careful what they hear and to
whom they listen to.
[ Deut 13: 1 - 5] Now notice that God
allows these men to rise up in order to test you. But I also want you to notice
that God has never left His people without a voice. And we know that God's
voice is a vindicated one. The voice of God is His Prophet's.
[ Jer 5: 21 - 31]
[ 2 Tim 4: 1 - 4 ] Now this scripture
was given to brother Branham by the Angel of the Lord as His Calling. And we
see that the people have itching ears and so they will heap to themselves a
multitude of teachers who will tell them what their itching ears want to hear.
[ Deut 18: 15 - 22] You will notice here
that God will give us a True Prophet to speak His own words, and in this
Prophet God will vindicate the man by not allowing His words to fail which he
speaks, because it is not the man speaking but God Himself is speaking through
His lips.
Earnestly contending for the faith 53-0614A
P:15 Now, when He rose from the
dead, He done the same things after He rose from the dead, through the
apostles, that He did before He died, even greater and more of it. Now, "Yet a little while," He said, "and the world seeth Me no more, yet ye shall
see Me (the Church, the believer), for I'll be with you, even in you, to the
end of the world."
Now, that was what the apostles believed. And they believed that what He was in
the flesh, He was also, and more, in the Spirit. And that's what they taught.
That's what they believed. And that's what they practiced, and that's what God
confirmed. But during this time, this thirty-three years of lapse, there become
many false brethren who'd raised up, and had brought in heresies, and brought
people off to theology, and different things like that.
3rd Exodus: There arises false brethren
among the people who pervert the message,
confusing the people.
How is it that even among those who would claim to
believe the prophet of God that the majority can not se what the prophet
actually taught. False doctrine abound amongst them that have not turned the
corner into the Word. They seek signs, but they turn down the Voice of the
Sign. We know from our studies that God has given us a sign in this hour but
with each sign God gives a Voice. And throughout the ages God’s prophets have
been God’s sign of impending disaster but would the people take heed and
listen? No, sir.
And so they wander off as they have in other ages gone
by. In Luther’s age it was not a miracle that he could hold up against
Catholicism, but that he could hold his head up against all the fanaticism that
followed his Message. When Luther went into hiding the make believers took over
his message and made a mockery of what he had preached. So too today the
make-believers have taken over the message of this hour. Not the Message itself
but the Message vehicle or platform. They claim to believe that God sent a
Prophet with a Message, and yet they deny the message and doctrine that He
taught.
In 1965 before brother Branham left

Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets
also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who
privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought
them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2 And many shall
follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil
spoken of. 3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words
make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and
their damnation slumbereth not.
Jude
1: 10 But these speak
evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as
brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves. 11 Woe unto
them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error
of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core. 12 These
are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding
themselves without fear: clouds they are without
water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit,
twice dead, plucked up by the roots; 13 Raging
waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is
reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.
Resume of The Ages - CA Book 380-1 Thus at this very moment we are in the complete fulfillment of
Matthew 24:24 "insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the
very elect." And who is it that shall attempt to deceive the very elect?
Why, the spirit of antichrist in the "false anointed ones" of this
last day. These false ones have already come in "Jesus' Name"
claiming that they have been anointed of God for the last day. They are the
false Messiahs (anointed ones). They claim that they are prophets. But are they
one with the Word? Never. They have added to it or taken from it. No one denies
that the Spirit of God manifesting in gifts is upon them. But like Balaam they
all have their programs, make their appeal for money, exercise gifts, but deny
the Word or by-pass it for fear that a controversy might diminish their chances
for greater gain. Yet they preach salvation and deliverance through the power
of God, just like Judas, with a ministry imparted by Christ. But because they
are wrong seed, consequently they have a wrong spirit motivating them.
Religious? Oh my! They outshine the elect in effort and zeal, but it is
Laodicean, not of Christ, for it looks for big crowds, big programs and
startling signs amongst them. They preach the second coming of Christ, but deny
the advent of the prophet-messenger, though in power and signs and true
revelation he eclipses them all. Ah yes, this false spirit that in the last day
is so close to the real, can be distinguished only by its deviation from the
Word, and whenever it is caught in being anti-Word, it falls back on the one
argument we have already shown to be false: "We get results, don't we? We
have to be of God."
Fifth
seal the 63-0322 P:57 And
watch the one that went to meet him, the Lion, the Lion of the tribe of Juda,
which is the Word. When his false teaching went forth, the true Word went to
meet him. That's the reason we had an Irenaeus, and a Polycarp, and--and--and
those fellows,
Anointed
ones at end time 65-0725M P:15 Now, anointed one is "one with a message." And the only
way the message can be brought out is by one that's anointed; and that would be
a prophet--anointed. "There shall rise false anointed teachers." A
prophet teaches what his message is: anointed teachers, but anointed people
with false teaching, anointed ones: christs, plural; prophets, plural. And if
there is such a thing as a Christ, singular, then these would have to be
anointed ones that their prophecy of what they were teaching would be the
difference, because they are anointed ones, anointed.
Second
seal the 63-0319 P:110 Look,
notice. When Satan... Now, everybody that realizes that Satan controls all
political powers of the world... He said so (Matthew the 4th chapter and you
get it, and the 8th verse). All the kingdoms belong to him. That's the reason
they fight, war, kill.Now, remember, isn't that strange? They was given this
sword to kill one another. Oh, my. Notice now. Now, when he did that he did not
have the ecclesiastical power yet; but he started in with a demon of a false
teaching, and that teaching become a doctrine. That doctrine become
car--incarnate in a false prophet, and then he went just to the right place; he
never went to

of the holy spirit 58-0928M P:97 Now, if you're a Methodist, those kind of fruits follow you, that
you're not quick tempered to fight a buzz saw; if you got patience, and you got
love, and you--consideration to everybody; if your first love is Christ, your
second is your fellow man, let you be third down like that; if you're moving
on, got long suffering, gentle, patience, faith...My, you say, "The Spirit
of the Lord is upon me. And there's--there's Divine healing. The Holy Ghost is
the same today.” Now, you say, "Wait a minute I'm taught in the
Proving
His Word 64-0816 P:42 Don't
reason with it. You--you say, "Well, I believe..." You ain't got no
right. When God says anything, just--just the way He said, that's the thing to
do. You say, "Well, I think..." But you ain't got no thought coming.
Let the mind that was in Christ be in you. And Christ is the Word. Let the Word
be in you. All other words be wrong, Christ's Words is right. Others believe
him and all of his reasons, like she did, reason, "Well, why would God do
this? Now, isn't this just as good as that?" If it's contrary to the Word,
it's not. So anything, any teacher, any Bible expositor, anything else would
teach you or try to get you to believe anything one little iota different from
what this Bible says it, it's a false teaching. It's Satan again just exactly like
it was to Eve. God goes right on, no matter what he does, what Satan does, God
goes right on proving it to be so.
Anointed
ones at end time 65-0725M P:185 Let's go now, close. Anointed ones, christs in the last days, but
the false teachers as false prophets... Notice how striking. Now, I want you to
compare this (We haven't got time to read it out.), Matthew 24:24 with II
Timothy 3:8. Matthew 24:24 said in the last days (See?) there'll come false
christs, false anointed ones, false prophets, and shall show signs and wonders
exactly like the real one--real one and shall--and shall almost deceive the
very elected.
Anointed
ones at end time 65-0725M P:50 Oh, you false teachers, listen at these tapes all these years and
seen God confirm exactly what He said, and you set in your study and know it's
the Truth, and because of your denominational differences, you dispute them and
tell your people they're not so. Woe unto you. Your time is close at hand.
Anointed
ones at end time 65-0725M P:43 But you might see that the anointing gets on the unjust, the false
teachers, and causes them to do exactly what God told them not to do; but
they'll do it anyhow. Why? They cannot help it. How can a thistle be anything
else but a thistle? No matter how much good rain's sprinkled on it, it's got to
be a thistle. That's the reason Jesus said they'll be so close it would deceive
the very elected (which is in the roots), if it were possible. But it ain't
possible. A wheat can do nothing but bear wheat; that's all it can bear.
Anointed
ones at end time 65-0725M P:31 Notice. The same anointing water brings forth the wheat, brings
forth the weed. The same Holy Spirit that anoints the church, that gives them
desire to save souls, that gives them power to perform miracles, It falls on
the unjust the same as the just: the very same Spirit. Now, you can't make it
another way and understand Matthew 24:24. He said, "There shall rise false
christs," false anointed ones, anointed with the genuine thing, but be
false prophets of it, false teachers of it. What would make a man want to be a
false teacher of something that's Truth? Now, and we'll get down to the mark of
the beast in a few minutes, you'll see it's denomination. See, see? False
teachers, false anointed, anointed christs, but false teachers. It's the only
way you can see it.
Spiritual
food in due season 65-0718E P:17 Now, that type there that I'm going to type Elijah with the church
today, or the church of today... Just before judgment he received this message.
Elijah, he represented, being cared for in the natural, his natural food,
because it wasn't going to rain now, according to the Word of God, for three
years and six months, or until Elijah called for it. "Whatever time you
say, Elijah, that's what it'll be." Therefore he walked up to the king and
said, "There'll not even be dew fall till I call for it." That's
quite a--a load, isn't it? That's quite a message.And now we're going to type
that with the spiritual drought of today. Now, we all know, we're very aware
that there is a great spiritual drought in the land today, spiritually
speaking. And, you know, that was predicted by the prophets, just before the
second coming of Christ would be, said, "There will come a famine in the
land, and it won't be for bread alone, but for the hearing of the Word of
God." And that day is now, "hearing the true Word of God." Now,
this types the natural drought with the spiritual.Sin and unbelief, by false
teachers and modernists in the church had brought the place to this coming,
oncoming judgment. Then they had turned from God's Word and His prophet to a
modern theological terms of the Word.
You
must be born again 61-1231M P:94 False keep enough of the true to make a form of godliness. And
listen, now I'm saying something here; I want you to listen. Them kind of false
conceptions (You know what a false conception is?) lead millions of people to a
false birth. False teachers lead the people to believe in a sensation,
"'Cause you jerked all over, you got It. Oh, because you got a real funny
feeling went over you, you--you seen lights in front of you, and got blind and
staggered, that's Elijah's jacket put on you. That's right, you got It. Oh, you
know what you are? You're a manifested son of God." Where do you find
yourself? Defeated. That's right. "Glory to God, I went one night and I
had a dream." Oh, yes, uh-huh. See? "Oh, I seen this, that..."
Yeah, uh-huh. "You--don't you believe in dreams?" Yes, sir, I
certainly do. But if that dream didn't back up God's Word, then it's wrong.
This is the Truth here; stay in This. Yes, sir. Lead million to false birth,
just think...
You
must be born again 61-1231M P:92 Now, false teachers will bring false births. True prophets will
bring the Word, the birth of the Word, Christ. False prophets will bring false
birth, the birth of churches, the birth of creeds, the birth of denominations.
And here you are, Pentecostal brother, false sent--or sensations, and tell a
man he's got the Holy Ghost 'cause he speaks with tongues. I've seen devils
speak with tongues, pencils lay down and write in unknown tongues. That don't
mean a thing. See, it's got to be a life: by their fruit you shall know them.
"Brother Branham, do you believe in speaking in tongues?" Yes, sir.
"You believe in shouting?" Yes, sir. To be a Christian, I believe
that. I believe God's Word. But if the life isn't there to back it up...
Ephesian
church age 60-1205 P:46 Now,
the 1st verse. What's He doing? He's saluting them. Unto--unto the angel of the
Baptism
of the holy spirit 58-0928M P:78 Remember this, I said in the beginning... Now, if I hurt you, I
don't mean to. This is for the church. If you're setting along, we like to have
you here, but this is what we stand for and why we're not a denomination.Now,
the denomination is to begin with, is false and false teachers. And I said it
would hurt, and I want it to hurt. They are absolutely false teachers. Any man
that knows those things and will stand and compromise for the Baptist,
Methodist Lutheran, or Pentecostal, knowing that the Bible teaches different,
he's a false prophet: no sticking around it. That's exactly. That's why I
didn't join the Assemblies. That's why I didn't join the oneness. That's the
reason I didn't join the Baptist, the Methodist, or Presbyterian, because
they're false. I don't mean their people's false; I mean their theology's
false, because it don't compare with God's Word. Paul said, "If a..."
He went over here... Let me show you what Paul said before we leave this water
baptism.
Questions
and answers COD 62-0527 P:88 And it left me setting in the room. I didn't even know it was a
vision. I didn't know what to call it then. I was laying the cornerstone that
day of the foundation there. It's wrote, laying right there in that cornerstone
now, and said:... do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of your
