“Moving on with the Word of God or dying in organization”

September 26th, 2009

Brian Kocourek,

Hebrews 6:1-20  1  Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; (let’s go on to the finishing off) not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, 2  Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. 3  And this will we do, if God permit. 4  For it is impossible for those who were once for all enlightened, (and there has only been one once for all enlightening, and that is under the seventh Angels Message, the last Message.) and have tasted of the heavenly gift, (The heavenly Gift is Christ) and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, 5  And have tasted the good Word of God, and the powers of the age to come, 6  If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

Let us pray… Dear Father, we come into Thy Presence this morning, knowing that we have come this far in this race, and we ask that you Who began the work in us will finish it. We know that in each of the Three Exoduses where You have come down in the form of the Pillar of Fire, showing Your presence among man, there were those who began following Your Great Presence and they came out of organization, only to go back into it. And we saw how in each age that those who came out, but did not move on with the Word of God as it unfolded itself, eventually went back into that same organizational spirit that they had left. Father, we know that Alpha must repeat in Omega and therefore we ask You to watch over us and take an active participation in our lives and help us to continue walking in the Light while You remain in the Light, until Your great Presence leaves this earth, and we with it, for we ask this in Jesus Christ’s name.

Good evening, friends, it is good to be back here this evening with you again.

You know there is an old expression that says, “there’s no place like home” and I want you to know that I am glad to be here even though our meetings went very well in Poland last week. There were believers from 7 countries who came to hear the Word, and the fellowship was also very wonderful.

The first night I spoke on the Spirit of Adoption, and the reception was very warm and wonderful. Then Br. Erling Ericksen spoke Saturday morning working into his sermon his testimony and we enjoyed it very much, but he never finished his sermon, so I am looking forward to hearing from him again, and perhaps we will get to hear the rest of it. That after noon, Br. Marcus Janckheere from Belgium, presented a warning to the people to not let their understanding of election and predestination side track them, because as he put it, Br. Branham said, “I am Calvinist as Long as it stays with the Word,” and sometimes in talking to him later we both agreed that some who see the Presence and Godhead are so content that they are in, that they have basically excommunicated themselves from fellowship outside their little circles. The thought that we have made it, or we have made it”, is what Brother Branham pointed out where he said, that is where Pentecost went wrong, because they thought as long as I am born again and a child of God I’ve made it, but they failed to recognize that you must be the right kind of Son in that family in order to be adopted”.

Sunday we had one long service which I took three sermons I preached here on the “trail of Adoption” and put them together into a 3-1/2 to 4 hour sermon, which was also received very well.

Now, this evening I would like to speak on the next paragraph from The Spoken Word is the Original Seed and we will pick up at paragraph 90.

The Spoken Word is the Original Seed, 90 What is it? Same seed. How can you plant wheat here and wheat here and say, "I'm going to get cucumbers here and wheat here?" You can't do it. The only way you're going to get cucumbers is plant cucumbers. If you hybreed it, then it won't be a cucumber. It'll be a hypocrite. Is that right? It'll be a hypocrite, friends. You've got to say it. It isn't neither one. Isn't cucumber or what you bred it with. It's a crossbreed, and it is a bad product, and it's dead in itself, and it can't breed itself back no more. It's dead right there, back, won't go no farther. That finishes it; that's all. But if you want a cucumber, start with a cucumber. If you want a church, start with the Word of God. If you want a Life of God, start with the Word of God. Accept the Word of God in Its fullness, every measure of It. And if that is the fullness of God in you, then the rain that's falling will produce exactly what's in your garden. See? Then now, where's your Latter Rain coming up at? You see where that's going after while, don't you? Going over with them wild gourds that Elijah got and thought they were gourds or them school of prophets up there, that denomination they had: gathered some wild gourds and thought they were, they were peas. Oh, well.

Now, let’s just stop here for to examine several things that Br. Branham is saying here.

Number one: he says if you try to take the Word which is Life, and breed it to anything else, it dies right there, you can’t mix it.

In fact in His Sermon, Anointed ones at end time 65-0725M P:168, he said, Now, you go back and try to live again... What if that life took back down... You think that Life would ever go back after that old shuck's dried up, ever go back and live in it again? It never does. "For it is impossible for those which were once enlightened and didn't move on with the Word as it come to pass..." They're dead, gone. "And the thorns and thistles which is nigh unto rejection, whose end is to be burned..." Is that right?...

Now, what he is saying here is that the Word of God keeps moving on. And when you stop and think you have it all, then you die right there. That is what went wrong with every movement of God in every age and in every Exodus. The people got tired of walking in the Light and wanted to settle down. And in order to do that they end up organizing along camps or lines of fellowship that they are comfortable with they shut off to all others and the pillar of Fire just keeps moving on. It happens that way every time. They organize around familiarity whether it be friendships, groups of people, or nationality and they begin to slow down and finally they stop moving forward altogether, and when they do, the Pillar of Fire just keeps moving on, and they are fail to move on with the light as it continues to move on. Then darkness sets in where the light used to be becomes dark.

Ephesians 4:8  Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.  9  (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? 10  He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.) 11  And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12  For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13  Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: 14  That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15  But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: 16  From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.17  This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,18  Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:

Don’t ever forget the warning brother Branham gave us in The Anointed ones at the End- Time. He said, You think that Life would ever go back after that old shuck's dried up, ever go back and live in it again? It never does. "For it is impossible for those which were once enlightened and didn't move on with the Word as it come to pass..." They're dead, gone. "And the thorns and thistles which is nigh unto rejection, whose end is to be burned..."

But yet that is exactly what happens every time there is an Exodus or the Pillar of Fire comes on the scene. In the first Exodus they longed for the garlic and leaks of Egypt and in longing for the good old days, their hearts turned back to Egypt and soon their bodies followed, and right there they died, every one of them, dead. In the Second Exodus we see the same thing. They followed the man Christ Jesus and there were 3,000 who received Christ on the day of Pentecost. 3,000 and where were they in 10 to 20 years? Everyone of them gone. There were 12 at Ephesus and they outshined the thousands in Jerusalem, who thought they had it all, because they had seen the man Jesus in the flesh, and fished with him, and ate with him, and yet God did not use them because He used Paul who did what God wanted done.

And so we see the same trail continue on and on.   Yes, there is a trail to adoption, and there is a trail to eternal separation, and sometime people do not know what trail they are on.

Hebrews 6 tells the story though. It tells us those who once for all enlightened, and that do not move on with the Word of God as it comes to pass, they dry up and are fit only for the burning. That’s people who saw the light, and walked in its light for a season, but for whatever their motive was, it matters not what their motive is, the fact is they stopped walking in the light and the light just keeps moving on without them.

Hebrews 6:1-20  1  Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; Let us not stop at the principles of the doctrine, but let us go on to full maturity.

Notice these are people who are not able to continue on past the principals of the Doctrine of Christ, the rudimentary or elementary understanding concerning the doctrine of Christ.

“not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, 2  Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. 3  And this will we do, if God permit”.

Hebrews 6:1 Amplified Bible Therefore let us go on and get past the elementary stage in the teachings and doctrine of Christ, advancing steadily toward the completeness and perfection that belong to spiritual maturity. Let us not again be laying the foundation of repentance and abandonment of dead works and of the faith by which you turned to God, 2 With teachings about purifying, the laying on of hands, the resurrection from the dead, and eternal judgment and punishment. These are all matters of which you should have been fully aware long, long ago. 3 If indeed God permits, we will now proceed to advanced teaching. But God did not permit at that time, as we see in Ephesians 1: 17-19 where Paul said he was praying for one last thing to get the people ready for adoption, and that was the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation in the knowledge of the Father that was to come to bring the people to completion and maturity.

Then Paul says, 4 For it is impossible to restore and bring again to a change of the mind those who have been once for all enlightened, who have consciously tasted the heavenly gift and have walked alongside the Personal Presence of the Holy Spirit, 5. And have felt how good the Word of God is and the mighty powers of the age and age to come, And we know that the age to come is the Millennium, so these are people who have been eye witnesses to the Pillar of Fire in their midst and saw the power of the age to come when a man can command bees to turn and raging bulls to go sit down. We saw a millennial man in William Branham, and we saw the power of the age to come, and we have been partakers of the Presence of the Holy Spirit, so those who would turn on it or just stop walking are without excuse.   So we see that this can only be those who have followed the Pillar of Fire at the end time, who came out of organization under the mighty hand of God using the ministry of a prophet like unto Moses, and having come out, and having walked in the Light of the Glorious presence they wear out, and go back to organization. 6. If they then deviate from the faith and turn away from their allegiance (their faithfulness)--it is impossible to bring them back to repentance, (which is a change of the mind) for they nail upon the cross the Son of God afresh as far as they are concerned and are holding Him up to contempt and shame and public disgrace by doing so.

So you see, once you turn away from the Doctrine of Christ and go off after works, and clothesline religion, and diet, you head down that slippery slope of organization from which you cannot return to the Living Word again.

Now, when the Scripture says that they deviate from The Faith, and there is only One Faith and that is The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which is the Doctrine of Christ. And when you deviate from that into other things, there is no coming back.

The KJV says, 6  If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. And the word  fall away was translated from the Greek word, “parapipto’, which means fall aside or literally to fall down, or deviate from the path.  It literally means to come down or settle down, as after a flight: a sparrow alighting on a branch. 2. To set down, as from a vehicle; dismount: which simply means to get off the train, because you’re tired of the journey. You are wore out, so you get off.

And how do they get off the trail? They deviate from it. They take another trail, but not the trail that the doctrine of Christ leads to which is the trail of adoption. And if they do this, then they are not fit for finishing the journey, they perish in the journey just like Israel did and Jesus said “they are everyone dead” and brother Branham said that means “they are eternally separated from God.”

For the earth which drinks in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receives blessing from God: In other words, those who when they receive the washing of the water by the Word grow up into a fully mature planting of the Lord, ready for the harvest, these are the ones who receive the blessings from God. But then he says,

But that which bears thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned. (now it is interesting that the Greek word that this word “nigh” was translated from is “Eggus” and means to squeeze or throttle down, so it appears that they are to be squeezed down to the curse. Until they are fit only for the burning.)

But then Paul says, But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak. In other words, if You are a part of what God is doing in this hour, then God expects better things from you than from those who just hear the Word without the doing thereof. For Paul continues in verse 10,  “For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labor of love, which ye have shown toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister. 11 And we desire that every one of you do show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: 12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

And that is the key, that ye be not slothful, but diligent to the full assurance of earnestly expecting unto the end.

My fear for the believers is that, as it was in the first Exodus wherein 2 million children of Israel left Egypt for the land of promise, only 2 of those over 20 at the time of “Kadesh-Barnea” made it to the promise land. That means only 1 in a million entered into the promise.  All the others perished in that wilderness journey. And we know according to what Paul taught us in 1 Timothy 4:1  there is to be an attrition, a falling away from The Faith.

Now, this word attrition means to wear away or to wear down, until there is hardly none left.

at·tri·tion ( -tr¹sh“…n) n. 1. A rubbing away or wearing down by friction. 2. A gradual diminution in number or strength because of constant stress. 3. A gradual, natural reduction in membership or personnel, as through retirement, resignation, or death.

Brother Vayle said in his sermon, Right Hand and Left Hand of God P:91 And so Father, we know as the life has gone out of the previous messages, and the life is now in this and even the chaff is burned up and we see so many things even in nature where it's in a state of complete attrition. They tell me, Lord, I just don't know how it can be but I've heard that upwards of hundreds of species per day, which I don't understand, are either in danger or have died off already or are dying off. That shows a state of attrition right there. Nothing more coming forth. Then Lord, how much seed is there to come forth? I don't know.

And from paragraph 63 of the same sermon he said, Hey, it's over. Attrition. Attrition has set in. There it is. Now it says, fallen away, they'll never come back.  (6) They crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, put him to an open shame. Shame Him. Literally shame Him. The One their waiting for. "Oh, that's not the One, that's the devil doing that. That's not the days of the Son of man. That's not this, that's not the other thing, it's what we say." Shame Him. And ashamed of Him, who was the revealed Word.

The attrition comes because they do not understand. So they go along guessing until one day their guesses become so far off the beaten path of the Word that there is no longer anything in common. Yet they still sit there thinking that they are fully aware of what is going on and they don't realize that they are blind miserable, wretched and don't even know it.

Now, what I want you to see this evening is that there are 2 groups of people ordained to hear the same Message at the end-time. But One Group has faith and through that Faith they are quickened to the Message of their hour while the other Group has not received the same Message by Revelation. It is not revealed to them and thus they cannot put it together in a way that will do them any good. It is not life to them, it is theology. And because god is long suffering not willing that any should perish, a long period of time is given to bring in the last seed and get them child trained. But during this prolonged time, the one kind of believer who received the Doctrine through an intellectual understanding, and not by a life giving revelation, end up losing what hope they did have and through attrition they begin to wear away. Because it was not their life, but mere intellectual conception, they depart from the faith by deviating from it into other things that have nothing to do with salvation, and redemption.

Now this attrition we speak of is a wearing away or weakening to the point of exhaustion, a wearing or grinding down by affliction. And these either walk away altogether or they revert to trying to "do" the message by works of some sort of works.

2 Thessalonians 1: 7 - 2: 3 (7  And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, 8  In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: 9  Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; 10  When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day. 11  Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:  12  That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2: 1  Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,  2  That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 3  Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;)

Notice here we are looking at two groups of people. Those who are being gathered to Him and those who are being separated from Him. And as we read further I want you to recognize what the difference is between these two groups. You'll find it is faith. Now in verse 3 we see a falling away that must come first. This falling away comes via attrition. It is actually a divorcement but comes through attrition. Now notice in every exodus there is two groups. Both come out but what makes them different is that one group goes in while the other either stops or goes back where they came out from.

Remember what Brother Branham said in the Message ...

ANOINTED ONES AT END TIME 65-0725 1M 129 Now, just a minute. I want to look up something here. I think I wrote this down right. I'm not sure, but I want to say it, and look it up before I--I say it. Now, just one minute. Reprobates concerning the Truth, concerning the faith, the faith. There's only one faith, that's right. Concerning the faith, reprobates.

But One Group has faith and through that Faith they are quickened to the Message of their hour while the other Group has not received the same Message by Revelation. It is not revealed to them and thus they can not put it together in a way that will do them any good. And they thus lose what hope they have and through attrition they wear away. They are reprobate concerning the faith. They are they who depart from the faith. Now this attrition we speak of is a wearing away or weakening to the point of exhaustion, a wearing or grinding down by affliction.

I TIMOTHY 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

Notice, there must come a season of testing, and what better way to test them than to give them the Word test or to allow false doctrine to enter in among them to see if they are faithful or not. And during this time or season, attrition sets in. Those not ordained to it, are worn down and fall away.
