Spoken Word no. 182

Your Motives and Objectives

Brian Kocourek, Pastor

1 Corinthians 14: 1  Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy. 2  For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.  3  But he that prophesieth (that means he that preaches) speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort. 4  He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth only himself; but he that prophesieth (preaches) edifieth the church. 5  I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying. 6  Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying (preaching), or by doctrine? 7  And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped?  8  For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle? 9  So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air.  10  There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification. 11  Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me. 12  Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.  13  Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret. 14  For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. 15  What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also. 16  Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest? 17  For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified. 18  I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all: 19  Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue. 20  Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.  21  In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord. 22  Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying (preaching) serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe. 23  If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad? 24  But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all: 25  And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth. 26  How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying. 27  If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.  28  But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God. 29  Let the prophets (preachers) speak two or three, and let the other judge. 30  If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace (while the other is speaking). 31  For ye may all prophesy (preach) one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted. 32  And the spirits of the prophets (preachers) are subject to the prophets (preachers). 33  For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.  34  Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. 35  And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. 36  What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only? 37  If any man think himself to be a prophet (a preacher), or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord. 38  But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant. 39  Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy (preach), and forbid not to speak with tongues.

Notice, Paul is saying here, it is not that I am against tongues, or psalms, or revelations, or you wanting to share something on the order of doctrine, but here is the conclusion to what Paul is saying here, in verse 40 he says, “ Let all things be done decently and in order.”

Now before we go to prayer let me first say that the apostle Paul is setting the church in order here. He says, when you come together it seems everyone wants to be heard. He said,  when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.” So the question he leaves us with is this: let all things be done unto edification of Who? Well, he already told us that when people speak in tongues it is only edifying themselves. In verse 4 he said,  “He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth only himself; but he that prophesieth (preaches) edifieth the church.” So it is the church that is to be edified which means to be lifted up or built up. It comes from Two Greek words “oikos” which literally means a dwelling or house or home, and by implication means a family, and another Greek word “doma” which literally means an edifice or roof. So together it means to bring the building to the place where it can become capped off, finished, sealed. And since it figuratively speaks of family, it means to bring the family to the place of full maturity, finished off.

Now, it is not that we do not believe in you bringing s special to sing, as he said a psalm, but he concludes that everything must be done decently and in order. 40 he says, “ Let all things be done decently and in order.”

Now, with this text as our basis for our thoughts this morning, let us bow our heads and our hearts in a word of prayer.

Dear Gracious Father we come reverently and humbly this morning knowing that you are the sovereign King, and we are the subjects of your kingdom. Then we ask this morning that you might direct us into your kingdom in such a way that all that we do and say, all our specials and all our preaching be done for the building up of you family, and with one purpose and one goal and that is to love your family and to stand by them in time of need, and we ask this in Jesus Christ’s name, Your eldest Son who you have birth to in a unique way, as the Spoken Word, the Original Seed, and we ask that as His life was spent on behalf of us, that we also might spend our Lives on behalf of your children as well. Let His life be our example we ask in Jesus Christ’s name.

Now, this morning, we will continue in our study of the Spoken Word is the original Seed, and we will pick up at paragraph 34 of the afternoon service where brother Branham broke this sermon into two sermons, the morning and afternoon. This is the afternoon one we are looking at this morning, and this is sermon 182 in our series.

“34 Now, notice, what happened to Eve's children? The first one that was born... Now if God said, "Multiply (to his bride, to Adam's bride) and replenish the earth," that was God's commission; and she would've done it, and he would mixing themselves together. But what happened? When Adam got ready to come to her, she was already a mother. See what I mean? Now, the same thing has happened to Christ's church, Christ's bride. Now, we're going back farther than that in a minute. Notice, in this bride, what did she do then? Her first child come forth; it was a bastard child, and he was full of death and caused death. And everyone since then is death. Now, you see it had to be sex. Why do you die if it wasn't sex? When God give a commission which cannot perish... God's Word's Eternal. It cannot fail. When He said, "Multiply and replenish the earth," that was God's eternal purpose. To carry it out you cannot die, because it's His Word. You have to live. And if that child would've been brought forth right, there'd have been no death; but she couldn't wait.

35   That's what's the matter today. You want some kind of a phony makeup with screaming, jumping, speaking in tongues, or something, instead of waiting for the real Word of God to be made manifest to the Bride. Them kind that takes the Word is God's true Bride, bringing forth children. They can't die. A child the Bride brings forth on the Word can't die, because It's the Word. Amen. Did you get it? She can't die 'cause she's... That child can't die because he's a Word child; he's a seed child; he's an eternal child. Hallelujah. That's exactly what Jesus Christ was, a spoken eternal Child. Didn't have to die, but He did it in order to pay the debt. That's the only way it could be paid. Nobody else could do it; they was all sexual born after the devil, his plan. You got it now? See?

You know, after traveling around the world nearly 40 times, I think I’ve pretty much seen it all. And what brother Branham is telling us here is exactly what I am seeing everywhere I go. Others went before I did, and what they brought was a bunch of what brother Branham describes here as a kind of a phony makeup with screaming, jumping, speaking in tongues, or something, instead of waiting for the real Word of God to be made manifest to the Bride.

I do not mean to do my fighting in the front yard, but where did you see the jumping and screaming and speaking in tongues in brother Branham’s services? The ones who jumped up to scream and shout and speak in tongues are those he told to shut up and sit down.

Since when does God condone such acts of the flesh and call it a spiritual thing. Now, I am not against speaking in tongues but the Apostle Paul said all things must be done decently and in order. There is a proper place for the gifts of God and tongues Paul said is the least of the gifts. That’s what Brother Branham said in his sermon,

Hear ye Him 57-0310E P:32 The gifts are here. But, as I said the other morning, we hold so much on speaking in tongues and interpretation.  Now, watch it. That's the last and the least of the gifts. The first gift was wisdom; the second gift was knowledge. And what good is it going to do to have knowledge if you haven't got wisdom to know how to take care of your knowledge? What good does it do to speak with tongues if you haven't got wisdom to know when and how to place it? Same thing with healing, with any of the other gifts...And that's the reason we won't listen; it's just... I ain't laying it onto the laity so much; I'm laying it onto the preachers. It's just so confused with their organizations. …

So you see, we have a lot of trouble yet in this Message because everyone is trying to outdo the next guy and every church thinks it is the only one, and all of that is such nonsense.

I got an email letter this week from a brother in the Ukraine who had a list of some other ministers who had pronounced “anathema” on Joseph Branham for printing Br. Branham’s sermons and saying that the message was his absolute. Now, what these men did is a pretty sick indictment on these men who claim to believe Br. Branham was the end-time prophet and yet refuse to believe everything he said. And to try to destroy the reputation of his two sons for little things they have said which seems to me those who are making these vicious attacks show themselves to have the nature of wild animals rather than that of sons of God.

Just picking away at little statements of Billy Paul where he said we should consider how privileged we are to have the Word of God in this day, and then to try to find fault with that is just like animals do with another animal that just isn’t like them. The chickens will peck to death another chicken if you place a red dot on it, and I have watched videos of hyenas that attacked a lion, and when the lion drew blood from one the hyenas, they smelled it and went after their own and mauled that hyena and killed him, and ate him just because he was wounded and unable to defend himself.

Now, that is the nature of animals but that is not the nature of sons of God. But these men claim that they understand the Scriptures better than Br. Branham did, they wouldn’t dare come out and say that directly but indirectly in their doctrine they teach it because they teach many things contrary to what God’s vindicated prophet taught.

But I was troubled by their attitude, it was so vicious and lacking of respect like that guy down in the islands of the Caribbean who seem to make their living by killing the influence of others. Murderous spirit is all they have, and you see no grace in their hearts for others. And it bothers me to see brothers in such a fallen condition, that you wish to God they would repent of such an attitude and let the love of God be shed abroad in their hearts by the Holy Ghost. But then we someone has to do what they are doing. Someone has to show that ugly spirit of hate, but all we can do is pry for them.

From his message, Uncertain Sound  62-0714 E-53 Brother Branham said, In one way, you feel like you want to scold them, yet you're sorry for them, because they've been listening to something else that's contrary.

You ask yourself, why would they be so critical of those people who lift up br. Branham and show the proper respect to him, and what is causing these people to believe such error? Then the truth comes home and you realize they are that way because someone taught them to be that way. But there seems to be a spirit that has come into this Message that has become very critical of Br. Branham and very critical of those who would consider this Message an absolute and on par with the Scripture. What they do not understand is that William Branham did not preach another Gospel. He did not preach another Jesus? So if he said what Paul said, and He claims that he did, then why would the things he said not be the same as what Paul said. How is it any different? They seem to think it is Word in the Bible but if someone says the same thing it is no longer the Word of God, oh, unless they say it.

You see, people are pretty twisted up these days. These same men who claim that you do no t have to believe everything brother Branham taught sent me an email telling me that I must read what they wrote because my life would depend on reading what they had to write, so I didn’t read it, and I just placed it into the trash where you put all the filthy rags and hogwash.

Such blasphemers are they and yet when you try to help them, and give them Scripture for their error, they write back and say you have no Scripture proof they are off the Word.

No Scripture? 300 plus Scriptures and this is no Scripture? So I am glad to be home, and I am glad you people not only have the Holy Spirit and that sweet spirit brother Branham said would come into the church one day before we are to go home, but you also are blessed with common sense which seems so lacking today among people everywhere, even among those who claim to believe the Message.

Now, I am not against any of the gifts of the spirit, I believe there is a need for everyone of them or else why would God give them? But as Paul and William Branham taught, all the gifts must be in their place, so we need wisdom to know how to use them.

Now, the greatest Gift we have from God was the gift of His Son, How many believes that?

From his Message Queen of Sheba 60-0401E P:20 Brother Branham said  Now anyone knows, that any time that God sends a gift to the earth, and the people turns that gift down, it's always chaos to that nation and that people, that turns down the gift of God. Jesus was the greatest Gift God ever give to the world. And the Jewish people turned it down, and is scattered throughout the world from that time since. And when God sends a gift, and the people refuses to see it, and refuses to take it, then it's scattered, the people is, and they, like sheep having no shepherd.

And from his Message called Love 56-0726 P:7 Brother Branham said, Yes. See, Christ was God's love gift to the world. You believe that? Greatest gift that God ever give was His only begotten Son. Is that right? That was God's greatest gift. Now, God had His gift in His Son, and could use It any way He wanted to. Now, when God showed Him something to do, that was God doing it.

And of course the greatest gift Jesus could give back to His father was His obedience to what the father showed him to do.

Another gift we have from God is the Gift of the Holy Ghost to lead us and to guide us.

God's gifts always find place 63-1222 P:79 May the Holy Spirit come to you and bring you ministering gifts and things from God, a gift that you might live a better life. That's what I want. I would rather have the Life of Christ in me to live sweet and victorious than I would all the gifts of healing, the gifts of prophecies, all them other gifts; just give me Jesus. Let me live the Life. The Life is what I want to live. I want to live so others will know. That's  my desire at Christmas, and I pray that's your desire. And I pray that God will give us His desire.

So a life that is so full of God-Life, which was exemplified by the Son of God who was so full of Love for His Father that he was always about his Father’s business, even denying his own will in favor of doing the Father’s will as we see in John 10: 17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.

And in John 14: 31 But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.

And again in John 14: 21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

John 16: 27 For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.

So I want you to notice how brother Branham said, I would rather have the Life of Christ in me to live sweet and victorious than I would all the gifts… and so that is my desire too. I hope it is yours as well.

Now, then if that is the desire of all our hearts, then what gift of the Holy Ghost would be able to place that desire into the hearts of the children of God? Would tongues? Would healing? Would discernment? Would miracles? So then we need to be careful about these things. Not that any gift is wrong, but a genuine gift in the wrong hands or with a wrong motive can become destructive.

All those gifts are wonderful in their place, but what is it that could change our hearts to want to live for Christ every heart beat that we have and every breath that we take?  Can any one here tell me what other gift of the Holy Ghost could bring that desire into the hearts of God’s children to want so to be like Him that they would die to self?  Brother Branham told us what Gift of the Holy Ghost will do this in his sermon called Why We Are Not A Denomination. 58-0927 P:43  He said, Now, we've got gifts of healing working. Oh, it's going good. Well, brother, there's other gifts. That's just one of them. That's just a little minor thing. Why, here's a far greater gift right here. Which would be the best, the gift of the Holy Ghost of wisdom to put the Word of God together and to show the church where we're standing, than just to get somebody healed? We all want to be well; but I'd rather have my soul well, than my body well anytime. Oh, my.

So we are looking at the Spirit of Wisdom in a person that could take the Word of God and place it into the hearts of men in such a way as to make the Bible become live again and become a reality to them and cause them also to come alive to the Word of God.

Audio letter to Lee Vayle 64-0500 P:2 Would it be you think, advisable in here to say that God then, in order to proclaim this, has to send a prophet in order to inject this, make this real again, show the people the hour we're living in? Because if they only see it in the hour past, then there's no hope for the church. The church must see it in the present tense. So God sends His prophet to manifest, present tense of it. You see? And then, after it's over, then history is. Now, you might inject that, Brother Lee. I don't know whether that's any good or not, but it's just--just a thought right here. Thanks a lot.

That is why brother Branham could say in his message, Discernment of spirit  60-0308  P:35  It isn't to make William Branham something great. But what is it to do? It isn't to make Oral Roberts something great, Billy Graham something great. But it's the hearts, we're trying to achieve something for the Kingdom of God . It's manifesting God. All gifts and things doesn't make one greater than the other; it just makes us all working together for the perfection of the body to bring us together as one people, as a people of God. But when you see them going contrary, don't curse them; just let them alone, somebody has to do it. But wait till Jesus comes in power.

So in reflecting back upon what the apostle Paul told us, it is not the gift itself, it is the Giver of the gift and the desire to build up the body of Christ with those gifts. You have got to come back to the motive to see where the gift is leading you, because remember, in Psalm 68 tells us that God gave gifts unto men and to the rebellious also. And we also know that  The rain  falls on the just and the unjust. And we know according to Deuteronomy 32 is the doctrine. So don’t think just because you have the doctrine right mentally that makes you somebody. It’s what you doing with it that counts. What is your motive for having it?

From his message Court Trial  64-0412 E-77 brother Branham said, Remember, it's not me; it's Him. It's not me. I'm nobody but just one of you all. It's Him. He has to get somebody. Nobody's worthy of it, but somebody has to do it. Remember, it's not a easy job. But it's a glorious job to know that your Lord is here, and you can tell your brethren the truth. But it's hard when they won't believe it. But that, we all have to confront that.

Now, I know what he is talking about, because I have experienced some of those great supernatural manifestations of God’s presence in our meetings as well. Yet I could never compare what I have seen to what God did in Brother Branham’s meetings. Yet that doesn’t take away from what He has done any more than what God did in His own son does not take away from what God did through His Prophet William Branham in this hour.

I’ve been privileged to witness His supernatural Presence in the form of those Three rainbows coming together over that church in Congo just like he did for His prophet, and I was privileged to witness Him stopping that horrendous storm in Uganda, and turn that darkened sky into daylight within minutes, and I’ve bee privileged to witness Him along with many of you who saw Him change the temperature by more than 30 degrees within an hour after we simply asked Him to help his children. And I’ve been privileged to witness Him as again many of you also did when He replaced the cut off part of that brother’s foot in Kentucky, and been privileged to witness the lame to walk and the deaf to hear, and I’ve also been witnessed His judgment upon people that have turned down this light in various times and places tasking some of them from the scene, and sending judgment over an entire land for many weeks darkening the skies and preventing air travel for weeks.

You think it is a coincidence that the volcanic cloud that hung over England and Europe finally left the skies on May 17th when that is also the date that the Cloud over Flagstaff, Arizona Appeared to the world on that same date in Life Magazine in 1963?

Brother Branham said that was the same day that Noah entered the ark. Now, you might say those things are just coincidences, but I do not believe in coincidences. And I have seen many other such tremendous manifestations of His presence with us, but as brother Branham said, it doesn’t make me anything more than just your brother just because I have seen them. Many have seen the same things I have and many of you have been witnesses to these things as well. But what is wonderful is that we can say that we are one of His children. But it does give us comfort to know that he said He would never leave us nor forsake us.  And that ought to give my family some comfort when I am traveling overseas.

So when brother Branham says, But it's a glorious job to know that your Lord is here, and you can tell your brethren the truth. But it's hard when they won't believe it. But that,  we all have to confront that. Then I know what he is talking about. And yes, the hard part is the rejection especially from those you know, but the glorious part is when god comes to your defence with a visible manifestation of His presence showing that he has not forgotten all our labours of love.

So what am I trying to say this morning? Well let me say it with a quote from br. Branham:

God's only provided place of worship 65-1128M P:49 Your sincerity and all that you want to confess, you just can't take it to the Methodist altar, to a Baptist altar, to a Pentecostal altar. But there is a altar somewhere that He chose that He put His Name in it, and He would meet you at that place. Now, if you get everything running just right, it's going to run; everything's set in order. If there's a short in that wire, that light won't come on, because it's been grounded. And when you'll take one of God's Words or one of His places, and in your own heart have selfish objectives, it'll ground the power of God right there. If you do it because you want to be smart, you want to be different from somebody else, or something, right there it's grounded; it'll blow the fuse. You're wrong. You've got to come with sincerity, with all your heart. Your motives and your objectives, placed right on God. Then search for His place, find where He said, and bring it there. See?

From his message, Testimony 63-1128M P:14 brother Branham said, This church was put here for a purpose. There's a spirit behind this church. Certainly. Spirit behind your home, behind every building, behind everything there is a spirit, motive, and objective. This church comes here to greatly exalt some human system or something, then its motives is not right; but if it's put here to try to achieve something for the Kingdom of God, then the motive and objective both is right, if the motives is directed that way.

So we need to be ever so careful in the way we approach everything. Just because you might be right in your doctrine does not mean that you are right in your heart. And I have seen too many men who have the doctrine right but in their hearts they are self centered and wouldn’t cross the street to help someone in need. But there are some who do love the doctrine and have right hearts as well.

Br. Wayne Jenkins was one of them. The testimony of those at his funeral whether from a believer or from non believers was all the same. He wasn’t just a Christian to those of like precious faith, but he was a Christian to everyone he met.

The testimonies I heard were from both saint’s and non saints, were the same. Br. Wayne would go out of his way to help everyone, whether it was an old woman trying to cross a busy street or some man getting stuck trying to get out of his car. It mattered not to him. He took each opportunity to show Christ in his Life. Perhaps that is why he  left this earth so young. God was pleased with his life and took him home like he took Enoch home.

From his sermon, Be not afraid it is I 61-0123 P:38 I had another call said, from a group that said, "If you let another group set on the platform with you, we'll have nothing to do with it." That's worse off then ever. What's the matter? Gone off without Him. The love of God in our heart constrains us to reach to every denomination in every place. When it gets to a spot that you can't have a tender love for every human being, something's happened to you. God so loved you when you was a sinner, an alien, away from God, a enemy of the commonwealth of God, He so loved you that He gave His life for you, sure. If you get a spirit in you, you're better than someone else, then you're worse than anybody else that I know of. I don't care if you're ever so correct in your theology; your motives and objectives is wrong. I'd rather be wrong in my theology, than be wrong in my heart. That's right. Spirit of God dwells in your heart. In the garden of Eden man took his... He compromised. Now, in the garden of Eden there was a choice made by the man. The devil took his head; God took his heart. Then he sends him off to a seminary, freezes him up with some good theology and dehydrates him in there, and he comes back out, his head all puffed up, too big to wear an ordinary hat. Then he comes out with bitterness in his heart against the fellow citizen of the Kingdom, that ain't God. That's right.

Spoken word original seed 62-0318M P:173 This has been my motive, and my objective, is God's Word. My motive is to please Him. And I can't listen to everything and believe God's Word; neither can I listen to everything and please God. My motive is to know His Word and to please God by serving Him by His Word. …Then check it with the Word. See, if it isn't the Word, then it is deceiving. See? Now, if your theology's different from the Word, then it isn't right. See?

Jesus Christ the same 61-0205E P:16 See, you've got to know positionally, first, Christ, where you stand. You are heir to this. It's your personal property; it belongs to you. It's God's gift to you. Nobody can take it away from you; it's yours. "What you ask the Father in My Name, that I'll do." Who can deny anything there? "Verily, verily, I say unto you, if you say to this mountain, 'Be moved,' don't doubt in your heart but believe that what you've said shall come to pass, you can have whatever you said." What promises, not limited just to healing, but to whatsoever. Now, you've got to find your objective, and your motive, and then the will of God. And if it is the will of God, and your motive's right, and your objective is right, then the mountain will fall. But outside of that, you could scream till you got hoarse and died, and never would move. See? Your... First thing, it's got to be the will of God; the next thing, it's your objective in going and do it; and then the motive you have. You want to be some big person...

that will get you no where.

Queen of Sheba 61-0219 P:8 Always remember this, church; God's Words are true. I believe the right mental attitude towards any Divine promise of God will bring it to pass, if you can look at it in the right way. But remember, here's been my standard in life. I have tried to do this. The first thing, I want to find out whether it's the will of God or not. That... Then I know it's God's will. The next thing, is my objective to it and my motive in doing it. Then if it's the will of God, and my objective is right, and my motive is right, I have faith that it'll be done. Because, first, it's the will of God and my objective is to glorify Him, and my motive is to give Him all the glory. See? So there's no selfish motives about it. If you have a selfish motive it won't work. If your objective is to make money for yourself or something, why, you'll never succeed. And then try to do something outside of the will of the Lord, then it won't work to begin with. So there is genuine faith, but you must come into the real channel of God to have that genuine faith. There's human faith, then there's faith of God. And you must have a godly faith to believe. Now, then to have godly faith, you must have the mind of Christ in you. Then that's how God projects to you visions, revelations, and all these things comes by the mind of Christ being in you. You get it? "Let the mind that was in Christ be in you."

And that is exactly what I have been trying to get across for the past three years. Get the mind of Christ and all these things shall be added unto thee.

Queen of Sheba 58-0125 P:44 And the first thing, your achievement is only by your motive and your objective. Your motive has got to be right and your objective has got to be right. If your objective is right, and your motive is wrong, then it won't happen. You've got to have the right objective and you've got to have the right motive. And then take it upon the leading of the Holy Spirit in your heart and stay with it. God will bring it to pass.

Godhead explained 61-0425B P:33 And you must test your motive and objective first. First, find the will of God, and then find your objective, and then test your motive and see if your motive is right. Then as Jesus said in Mark 11:24, "If you say to this mountain, 'Be moved,' and don't doubt in your heart..." But as long as you got doubt in a heart whether it's the will of God, or your motive or objective is wrong, how is it going to move? But when you know that your motive is right, and it's the will of God, and your objective is right, it's got to move. That's all, or God told something wrong.

Blind Bartimaeus 61-0124 P:79 Get love in your heart, and be true and honest, and have the right kind of a motive, and the right kind of objective, and God will take care of the rest. If your motive is right, and your objective is right... If your objective's right, and your motive's wrong, it won't work. But when you get your... If you know it's the will of God, then your motive right, and your objective right...

Jesus Christ the same 58-0323 P:37 Here He told them, mortal man, "Say to the mountain and believe that it's being done." Only Deity can move a mountain. Only God can do it. Then if He told a man could do it, it would have to be God speaking through the man. And the only way a man could know it was God, would be the right objective, or, and the right motive. If your objective is right and your motive is right, then it's not you speaking anymore. It's the Father that dwelleth in you. "Take no thought what ye shall say in that hour; for it's not ye that speaks; it's My Father that dwelleth in you. He doeth the speaking."

Expectations 61-0308 P:29 But "expectancy," that's a great thing, to expect something. You usually get what you expect. Some people come to the meeting and say, "Well, I didn't--didn't expect to get anything out of it." Well, they won't. But those who expect to get something, God will give them their expectations, if their doing it reverently and in the fear of God. Now, always to find out something first is to find whether it's the will of God or not. And then if it's the will of God, then your objective to it, and then your motive in doing it. If it's the will of God, and your objective is right, and your motive is right, it's got to happen. There's just no way to keep it from happening. So first find the will, if it's God's will. And then, what's your objective in doing it? If it's selfish, you'll never get it done, that's all. It's got to be real clean and clear before God or it just won't happen. That's all. You got to always keep that on your mind, that it's got to be clean and clear. Your cups must be clean and clear before God or God cannot work with you.

Hear ye Him 58-0209A P:46 It's your attitude; it's your objective and your motive again. That's where the church stands today on that. If your objective and motives is right towards God, the love of God will stream down like a fountain. That's right. But not because, "It's my church. I want to see it my town, I want to see it my..." That isn't it. "Oh, love of God, come into my heart." There's when He comes.

Have faith in God 58-0105 P:13 That's what it takes to overcome. And if you notice, Jesus didn't say, "Quickly, this mountain will be throwed into the sea." But, "If thou will ask for this mountain to be raised up and throwed into the sea, and will believe in your heart that it's being done, you shall have what you say." Oh, my. When you go to the mountain and say, "Mountain, be cast up, throwed into the sea." Look, say, "Oh, it never happened. I guess I haven't got faith." When you say, "Mountain, be raised up and thrown into the sea," and your objective is right, and your motive is right, you may not see one bit of difference in that mountain. Maybe just one little grain of sand moved when you said that, but it's being moved. No matter how small it is, it's taking place.

I have heard but now I see 65-1127E P:29 See, we don't use the gift of God for commercial. No, no. He could tell me where it was at, but I don't have any need of it. I wouldn't even have faith enough to ask Him. See? If I had a need of it, I believe if I'd ask Him, He'd tell me. But first (You see?), your motives and objectives has to be right. You have to have reasons for this. God don't give you those things just because you ask. And you cannot ask in faith unless there's a real objective to that, to be in the will of God. See? If you want to be well, what do you want to be well for? See? If you want to be healed, what's the reason you want to be healed? What are you telling God? What do you want to do with you life when you get healed? See? There's got to be... You've got to have a motive and objective, and they have to be right according to the will of God. And then is when the faith is revealed to you, and God by His sovereign grace places that faith in there, then it's over. See? Now. See?

Thy house 61-0808 P:40 If you're sincere and know that it's right, then you can ask God with a clean heart, knowing it's no selfish motive, and your objective and motive is exactly right, then ask God. And like a child, believe you get it and you get it. I know that. Now, I've come to Christ when I was about the age of one of these boys here, I guess. I was about twenty years old. And I served Him all this time, and I'm fifty-two, will be fifty-three my birthday. And I can sincerely say that I have never asked Christ sincerely for anything, that is it's, now, that really sincerely asked Him, anything that was for right, but what He gave it to me or told me why He couldn't do it. And then later on, I found out it was a good thing I didn't get it. See?

Jesus Christ the same 58-0323 P:36 Now, do not listen with any selfish motive. Let your objective be right. Let your motive be right. For anything outside of the right motive and the right objection, God can't use it.

Now, Let us bow our heads and our hearts in a word of prayer. And I want you to pray after me, the words I pray. But I want you to insert your own desire into this prayer, that you are praying for, that you want for your life, but have not seen any manifestation of it yet, and I want you to insert your own desire into your prayer to God now, that God  will know it is what you desire. Now, let us pray together in closing.

Repeat after me, and then when we get to the part for our desire, I want you to insert your desire…

Dear Gracious Father, I have heard Thy Word this morning, and now father, I bow my head and my heart to Thee in Prayer. You said in Your Word Father, and by your prophet whom you have vindicated, that if our objective is right, and I can see you have promised this to me in your Word, therefore I know my objective is right,  because I see it in Thy Word as a promise for me, and knowing that it is a promise for me, I am now going to check my motive,  and knowing that my motive is pure and right for this I ask, I do not ask this request Father for a selfish reason, but I come this morning as your child, and I have a need Father, a need for fulfillment in this area of my life, now Father I have come the way your prophet has told me to come, and I have come the way your Son Jesus told me to come, and now I ask for this desire to be given to me in Jesus Christ’s name, Amen.

Now, I want you to be looking for the little pebble of sand in that mountain that just moved. Watch for it, and you will see your desire is beginning to come into view. Remember the whole mountain doesn’t move overnight, but before you ask God, He already has your answer on its way. You believe that, ok?

Now let’s be dismissed with the chorus “Lord I believe, Lord I believe, All things are Possible, lord I believe.”… as our musicians come forth to play.
