Spoken Word no. 229

Anointed to the Word

Brian Kocourek, Pastor

February 23rd, 2011

Let us remain standing and open our Bibles to 1 John 2:20  But ye have an anointing from the Holy One, and ye know all things. 21  I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth. 22  Who is a liar but he that denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denies the Father and the Son. 23 Whosoever denies the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledges the Son hath the Father also. 24 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father. 25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life. 26 These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. 27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teaches you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. 28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. 29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.

And then please turn to John 17: and we will read from verse 3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

Let us prayHeavenly Father, we bow our hearts and our heads in reverence to Thee, the Creator of heaven and earth, and we ask you Father to anoint our hearts with Thine own Spirit that we may love Thee as Thy firstborn son Loved Thee,  and that we might understand Thy Word. Even as you anointed your son to manifest Thy Word. For certainly this is the hour of Thy Great  visitation among man, and We know by Thy Word that you have come down in this hour with a Shout, which is a Message, and that message is the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation in the knowledge of Who You are. And that is what we want Father,  that we might know Thee the only True God and Thy Son Jesus Christ. Help us Father as we further study this wonderful Message of The Spoken Word is the Original Seed that we might come to know Thee better for we want to Know Thee even as Thy Son Jesus knew you and loved you and served you, and we ask this in the name of your loving son, Our eldest brother, our Lord and savior Jesus Christ amen. You may be seated.

Now, this morning we will continue in our study of brother Branham’s sermon, Spoken word original seed 62-0318M P:99 "The works that I do shall he do also." And what did He do? Just as the Father led Him, what He saw. Saint John 5:19, just... "I do nothing till the Father shows Me." What was He? Made Himself a man. God was made flesh and dwelled among us. The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us. God's spoken Word, through a virgin, brought forth a body, and in that body come the Water, the Spirit, and washed by the water of the Word and then went in Him, dwelt in Him, and there come the Life of God manifesting Himself through Christ. God was in Christ, the anointed One.

P:100 "Christ" means "the anointed One," a Man that was anointed. And God dwelling in Him, what was it? The germ with the flesh, the anointed One, flesh being anointed with the Spirit of God produced the Word of God made manifest. "And we beheld Him, the only begotten of the Father, full of grace..” See? There He was. See? He was God's Word made manifest. And now He died in order to pay the debt of your hybreeding (my, my, there it is, what is it?), that you could die to yourself until you're no more yourself and be filled with His Word, believing His Word, and then the Holy Spirit that was in Him comes down to water that Word to make It grow. See? And then what is it? God manifesting, continuing the work of His first Son, His Only Begotten (See?), that died for our hybreeding life, that He might reconcile us back to be sons and daughters of God, that through the church, might flow the same Life by the Word, continuing the Word being manifested as It was in Christ. Christ was God's Word made manifest. And He died, gave His Life, that He might send the Spirit: take His body up and send the Spirit back to water, pay the redeeming price, if we'll believe it. That's it right there--if you believe it. "He that believeth on Me, the works that I do..." Then come the Holy Spirit upon the same Word of God...

Now, what I wish to examine this morning here is this thought on how that God anointed Jesus, and how he is here in this hour to anoint you.

In Hebrews 1:9 we hear the apostle Paul teach us how that God anointed Jesus. Verse 9…Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.”

And again in Acts 10:38 we see that God anointed Jesus with the Holy Ghost…How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”

And then we find the Apostle Paul tell us how that God has anointed us to be with Christ…2 Corinthians  1:21 Now he which establishes us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God;

Now, in 1 Corinthians 1:1 we read, “Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother, 2  Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours: 3  Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. 4 I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ; 5 That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge; Now, remember this word enriched is like putting fertilizer on a seed, to bring it from seed life into fully mature manifested son and daughter of God.

Then he tells us 6 Even as the testimony (or witness) of Christ was confirmed in you: 7 So that ye come behind in no gift;(That you come behind in no spiritual understanding) waiting for the coming (the apokalupsis, or unveiling) of our Lord Jesus Christ:  8 Who shall also confirm you (or stabilize you) unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Now, how do you suppose he has stabilized us? By giving us His word.)

1 Thessalonians 4:16 tells us “The Lord Himself has come down with a shout, which is a Message…”And according to Ephesians 1: 17 we see That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, (is to come that He) may give unto us The Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Himself (Why?) 18  That the eyes of our understanding may be enlightened; and that we may know what is the hope of His calling, and what the riches of the glory (the doxa, the opinion, values and judgment) of his inheritance in the saints, In other words, He comes with The Spirit of Wisdom so we can know Him, and His plan for us. Then Paul continues,  9  God is faithful, (Why? because He which began the work in You will also perform it, if you will just die to self and let Him live his Life through you. Talk about Faithful, Paul said in Philippians 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Now, back to verse 9  God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord. 10  Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. You see if we have the doxa of Christ, we will have the same judgments because we have the same mind.

So what we are looking at is an anointing upon the hearts of God’s sons and daughters that will cause us to will and to do, that will cause us to know as we are known, that will cause us to see what God sees.  And the thing of it is, that when we come to the place of this anointing we can not help but to have our eyes opened to see what God sees, and to know what the thoughts of God to us are.

You see, that is what the anointing of the Holy Ghost in our Life is to produce in us. It is to open our eyes, to apply the eye salve that we might see.

That is what the Apostle Paul taught us in 1 Corinthians 2:1  And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. 2  For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. 3  And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. 4  And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:  5  That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.  6  Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: 7  But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:

Notice the hidden wisdom of God which god had kept hidden from age to age but has revealed it to us for our glory, for our doxa.

8  Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 9  But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 10  But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for The Spirit searches all things, (and there is only One THE Spirit and that is The Spirit of God. His Spirit.) or The Spirit (God’s Spirit) searches all things, yea, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? (In other words, the knot on a tree could never understand why you do what you do and how you move like you move, neither can a dog or cat or horse understand the things of man. Then he says,) even so (and the word even so means in the same way) the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God Knows. (So unless you have the Spirit of God in you, you can not understand the things of God. That’s what he is saying here. Then tell me how people could fuss and fight over the doctrine that William Branham taught us right from the Scriptures here concerning the Greatest of all revelations which is understand how that there is One God and He had a son. It shows they are not born again.)

Paul continues, 12  “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but The Spirit which is of God;” (why?)That we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Ghost teaches; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned, (They are spiritually understood.). 15  But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.  16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

So we see brother Branham speak of this knowing, this anointing to know in his sermon Look 63-0428 P:56 54   “Now, we find out Moses, we find out later on, He saw Israel. Moses, a great prophet, he looked out the windows. He was raised in Pharaoh's courts. (In other words Moses was raised in the same house that Pharaoh was raised, yet why did he see what Pharaoh did not see? So brother Branham says, he Moses was raised in Pharaohs courts, just like pharaoh was raised.) And (yet) he (pharaoh) looked out the window and he saw a bunch of mud daubers. It was nothing but half-dressed people with lashes of whips upon their back, no way at all to ever be delivered. But Moses knew the Word of God. And he looked upon them as a promised people. He looked upon them as a people that had a promise. No matter how much the world that day looked down upon them as a bunch of mud daubers, or slaves, he looked upon them as a people having a promise. 55 Pharaoh looked upon them out of the same window, but he seen slaves. Moses seen the victory. Why? He had focused himself. Though being a prince, though heir to the throne of Egypt, he focused himself away from the lust of the world. He focused himself away from the beauty and power that he had within his own potentials to receive. He focused that out until he seen a blessed people down there by the promise of God. He focused in because he knew that God promised Abraham that He would visit His people. And he knew that he was raised up for that purpose and he focused it all out.  56 Pharaoh did not have this potential. He was offered it, but refused it. And when he refused it then he couldn't focus. No man, after he's turned down the Word of God, can ever focus himself into it, because you refused the Word that brings you into relationship with Christ.

And that is exactly what Hebrews 6 is all about. They are shown the Light but refuse that light, and when they do it’s all over for them.

Brother Branham continues,  That's right. But Moses looked out of this window. He believed it. Why? Moses looked by faith. That's how Moses looked. Now, listen real close to this remark. Faith, Now, don't forget to get this now. Faith is designed to see what God wills and wants. There is no knowledge that can do that. Faith alone is designed and give to the human race to find out what the will of God is. And you take your faith that you've got and it don't focus with the Word, then leave it alone, you got the wrong faith. But when your God given faith focus you with the Word of God, you're directly in line and zeroed. Oh, my. God help us this hour, great hour that we live in. Faith, designed to see what God wants. How do you see it? Through the camera of His Word, His promise. This is a full revelation of Jesus Christ.

And let me add this, that is what the Holy Spirit is given to you for. To see what God see and to think what God thinks, and to do what God wants you to do, and speak what God commands you to speak.

Look what Jesus said in Luke 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

And again in Acts 10:38 we see that after God anointed Jesus with the Holy Ghost, we see him begin to manifest the things god wanted manifested. How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.” And remember John 5:19 and John 5:30 he said “the son can do nothing unless the father shows him first”. And “My Father works and the son works hitherto.”

From his sermon, Why cry speak 63-0714M P:65  Brother Branham said, Now, watch what takes place now. Moses saw this by a vision and Pharaoh said that, "This is great." God said, "It's an abomination." So Moses chose what God said. Now, notice, faith sees what God wants you to see. See? Faith sees what God sees, and reasoning and senses see what the world wants you to see. Notice, reasoning. "Why, it's only human sense; it's only reason it's this. This is... Well, ain't this just as good." See? That's just exactly when you use those senses which is contrary to the Word (See?), then that's what the world wants you to see. But faith don't look at that; faith looks at what God said. See, see? You don't... You cast down reasons.”

The Apostle Paul told us in 2 Corinthians 10:5Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;”  So if our faith is seeing what God sees, then we can understand what brother Branham is telling us in his sermon  Works is faith expressed 65-1126 P:94 Your faith is what God sees in you; your works is what the other people see in you. That's the difference between James and Paul here, explaining about Abraham. They never contradicted one another; they was both the same; married. So is faith that doesn't produce works, anyone has a right to doubt your testimony. Now, do you hear it, before we start the prayer line? If your faith doesn't produce works with it, you can't make anyone believe that you're healed.

And that brings us to the point I wish to make this morning, that either we are anointed to the Word or we are not. And again from his sermon, Works is faith expressed 65-1126 P:122 Brother Branham said,  Who was first? Moses. Then they impersonated him. But the great truths still remains the same between the right and wrong; they cannot accept the message. They cannot accept the message that's unadulterated, from the Word of God. I don't care, Judas could've done all kind of signs and wonders; but when he come to receive the Holy Ghost at the day of Pentecost, he showed his colors. That Devil can come right up and impersonate right to the very thing, till it comes to this Word; but he can't take all that Word. He can bring it all up, maybe to one Word like Eve did, the Devil did to Eve, but he can't cross it all. Because the only... The whole thing is the Body of Christ. See, Word now...Neither could... They cannot take the message now, neither could Jambres and Jannes take Moses' message. They could not do it. Their works of impersonation was made known, because they could not be able to follow God's Word vindicated by His anointed prophet. See?

So you are either anointed to the Word or you are not. Then as Paul taught us in 1 Corinthians 2 that unless you are born again and filled with the Spirit of God you can not understand the things of God, because there is no place for God’s Word in you.

If you will turn with me to John chapter 8: and reading from verse 30  “As he spake these words, many believed on him. 31  Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32  And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. 33  They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? 34  Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. 35  And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever. 36  If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. 37  I know that ye are Abraham's seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you. (Now, imagine that, he’s talking to the most religious people of his day, and tells them His Word, which we know is God’s Word, has no place in them.)

Then he tells them in verse 38  I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and you do that which you have seen with your father. 39  They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham. 40  But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham. 41  Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; (we are not serpent seed) we have one Father, even God. Now, look, these guys are claiming God as their father, just like the Muslims do and the Catholics and all her denominational children.

But notice what Jesus says in verse  42  Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.

Now, look, the law of reproduction in Genesis 1:11 tells us that every seed must bring forth after its kind, after the same nature as the original seed. so if they were of God they would have to recognize by their very nature that Jesus was the Son of God. But they didn’t.

And what does that tell you? It tells you that they were not of God.

Then notice what Jesus tells them next…43  Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. 44  Notice he is telling them it is impossible for them to understand what he is saying, because they have not the same Spirit that He has. And that is why these make believers who claim to believe the Message can not understand the simple simplicity of the Godhead, that there is One God and He had a Son. Now, you think I’m taught, look what Jesus says next… Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. 45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not. 46  Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me? 47  He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.

Now that ought to nail it down once and for all. He said, 47  He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.

From his sermon The Rapture 65-1204 P:85 Brother Branham said, Don't the Bible say in the last days there shall come false christs, not false Jesus now, false christs, anointed ones, falsely anointed to the Word. Denominational anointed but not to the Word, for the Word will bear record of Itself. It don't need nothing else; It'll bear record to Itself. And there will come false anointed ones. You got my tape on that. And that anoint... Oh, if you'd call one and say, "Oh are you a Jesus?", "Oh, certainly not." They wouldn't stand for that. But when it comes to an, "Oh glory, I got the anointing..." And it's a genuine anointing. Remember, Caiaphas had it too and prophesied. So did Balaam have it and prophesied, but that don't have nothing to do with this inside.

Now, Listen to what  brother Branham is saying here. He says, that don't have nothing to do with this inside… That what don’t have anything to do with this inside. He’s talking about what Paul taught us in 1 Corinthians 2, these men are anointed to gifts but not anointed to the Word which shows they do not have the baptism of the holy Ghost in their soul. They are anointed to gifts but not to the Word for the hour.

Then he continues, “Unless that was God's seed, His gene from the beginning, predestinated, you're finished. I don't care how much you shout, speak with tongues, run, shout; that has nothing to do with it. A cocklebur can count just as much as any of the rest of them. I've seen heathens raise, and shout, and speak in tongues, and drink blood out of a human skull, and call on the devil. See? So you don't... Any of them sensations and things, forget it. It's your heart in that Word, and that's Christ. Bring it in there, and watch It make Itself known just as It opens up like any other seed and declares Itself for the age It's living in.

So what’s he talking about? He’s talking about the Word coming alive in you and to you.

The Apostle Paul said in Colossians 3:4 when Christ who is our Life shall appear, shall phaneroo, shall manifest in His true character, then shall we also appear, phaneroo, then shall we also manifest in our true character with Him in the same Glory, in the same doxa, in the same opinions, values, and judgments.”

And I would like to add a statement that Brother Vayle said in his Stewardship sermon #5 P:56 As Bro. Branham very candidly said, “The end time ones are anointed either to the Word, or they are anointed to gifts.” Now the true son of God is anointed to the Word, also having gifts, which he will use within the framework of the Word, and according to the job description which is written here in the Bible.

So what is our focus this morning, brothers and sisters? Are we anointed to the Word or to the gifts? Are we examining the Word of God to see what God has for us in this hour, or do we pay more attention to our feelings, and our emotions.

The hour is getting late my friends and we have to make up your minds, where we are going to focus our attention on. Because the day is coming to a close, and the devil is running about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. Are we standing on the promise for the age, or are we focused on the circumstances that the rest of the world is focused on.

Are we focused on the Financial Squeeze or the promise of the Third Pull that will manifest itself during the time of the Squeeze?

Remember, Pharaoh looked out the same window as Moses looked and they saw two different things. Pharaoh saw a bunch of raggedly dressed slaves with stripes across their backs from the whips, but Moses didn’t see that, He saw the promise of God for the age that He was living in, and that promise involved Him, and he accepted what he saw, and stepped into His revelation, and became the deliverer of Israel.

Now, the whole world is falling apart, and we see what the world sees, but are you seeing it through the eyes of a Message that God has come down in this hour to deliver to you through a vindicated prophet?

You see, brothers and sisters, Jesus Christ was that blind servant who saw only what God wanted Him to see, and heard only what God wanted him to hear. Can we do the same? Is our filter up so that everything we see we can take back to what the prophet of God warned us would come? Have we made preparations for this time, not only to endure it, but to receive the promise of a change in this hour?

Are we focused on the promise for us? Do we even know what it is? Now, what is the promise for you in this hour? Are you looking for the Resurrection of the dead? Are you looking at you own position in the body, and dying to self that Christ can live again in you? Do you see your role in the family? Can you focus out everything else that would distract you from your role? Will you do it? Let’s bow our heads in prayer.
