Unveiling of God no 59

God uses One Man

October 24, 2018

Brian Kocourek, pastor

Let us remain standing and read from the book of Exodus 19:1 for our text.  "In the third month, when the children of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they into the wilderness of Sinai.  For they were departed from Rephidim, and were come to the desert of Sinai, and had pitched in the wilderness; and there Israel camped before the mount. 3  And Moses went up unto God, and the LORD called unto him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel;  Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto myself. 5  Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:  And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel. 7  And Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and laid before their faces all these words which the LORD commanded him. 8  And all the people answered together, and said, All that the LORD hath spoken we will do. And Moses returned the words of the people unto the LORD. 9  And the LORD said unto Moses, Lo, I come unto thee in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with thee, and believe thee forever.

Notice that God is telling Moses, what I am doing with this noise and thunder and clouds is not for my sake but for your sake so the people will believe you when I tell you what I want you to say to them. And notice it worked for the people said to Moses, "And all the people answered together, and said, All that the LORD hath spoken we will do."

"And Moses told the words of the people unto the LORD. 10  And the LORD said unto Moses, Go unto the people, and sanctify them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their clothes, 11  And be ready against the third day: for the third day the LORD will come down in the sight of all the people upon mount Sinai. 12  And thou shalt set bounds unto the people round about, saying, Take heed to yourselves, that ye go not up into the mount, or touch the border of it: whosoever toucheth the mount shall be surely put to death: 13  There shall not an hand touch it, but he shall surely be stoned, or shot through; whether it be beast or man, it shall not live: when the trumpet soundeth long, they shall come up to the mount.  14  And Moses went down from the mount unto the people, and sanctified the people; and they washed their clothes. 15  And he said unto the people, Be ready against the third day: come not at your wives. 16  And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that was in the camp trembled. 17  And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet with God; and they stood at the nether part of the mount.

18  And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly. 19  And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and louder, Moses spake, and God answered him by a voice. 20  And the LORD came down upon mount Sinai, on the top of the mount: and the LORD called Moses up to the top of the mount; and Moses went up.

21  And the LORD said unto Moses, Go down, charge the people, lest they break through unto the LORD to gaze, and many of them perish.  22  And let the priests also, which come near to the LORD, sanctify themselves, lest the LORD break forth upon them. 23  And Moses said unto the LORD, The people cannot come up to mount Sinai: for thou chargedst us, saying, Set bounds about the mount, and sanctify it. 24  And the LORD said unto him, Away, get thee down, and thou shalt come up, thou, and Aaron with thee: but let not the priests and the people break through to come up unto the LORD, lest he break forth upon them.

25  So Moses went down unto the people, and spake unto them.

Now, tonight in our study of Br. Branham's sermon The Unveiling of God we will pick up at paragraph 78  and begin reading. here we will find him telling us about this scene that we have just read from the Book of Exodus.

The Unveiling of God and we will pick up at paragraph 78 Notice, He said, "Now, I'm going to glorify you before the people." Said, "Now, you told them that I met you out there in a burning bush; now I'm going to come down, same Fire; and I'm going to let the people see that you never lied about It." You can scientifically prove It even, if you want to. See? "I'm going to come right down and let them know."And when He begin to thunder, when Jehovah started thundering, the people said, "No, no. No. Don't let Jehovah speak, we'll die." See, He had to be veiled. So God veiled Himself in Moses and give Moses the Word. And Moses come down and spoke the Word of the Lord in a veil over his face. That right? Jehovah veiled in a form of a prophet, 'cause it would've absolutely... And God said He wouldn't speak to them anymore like that. He would only speak to them by a prophet. That's the only way He'd ever speak from then on. That's the only way He's ever spoke. That's right. Never any other way. He don't lie.

Now, back to Exodus 20:18  And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off. 19  And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die. 20  And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.

In other words Moses said, "It is good that you show fear, that just means that God can deal with you and your fear will keep your sin in check, because if you feared not, then you are no more than a dead man".

21  And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where God was.

Now, listen, that was for Moses to do and no other. Even when God appeared to brother Branham in the three rainbows, when br. Branham began to walk closer to it, and he even took off his shoes like Moses did, but God would not let him enter into it as Moses did.

From his sermon, Message of grace 61-0827 P:14 brother Branham said, "And I looked again, and there it was, growing taller and taller, three rainbows. I took off my hat. I set down my gun. I started walking towards it with my hands up. Something just seemed to tell me, "This is close enough." I was going to set down and take off my boots that I had on, to see if I could walk a little closer. But I got within a few yards of it, and I seen the color of it, misting like a fog moving around. I stood still for a few moments. It was coming right out of the top of the little mountain. And I watched, as the three (one to the right, one to the left, and one in the center) running down into one bowl like... Ever what it was, was alive. It was moving and making Its motions. And I stood there just as it was graying dawn. I turned and looked again, and I screamed out, "O God, what would You have Your servant know?" Just then the Spirit of the Lord came in and said, "Jesus of the New Testament is Jehovah of the Old, He only changed His mask from Spirit to man." That was confirming, of course, my message of Him, letting me know, assured that these thirty-one years hasn't been in vain.

Notice, brother Branham knew when to stop and he did, and he just sat there and then asked the question, "what would you have your servant to know".

22  And the LORD said unto Moses, Thus thou shalt say unto the children of Israel, Ye have seen that I have talked with you from heaven.

Now, back to The Unveiling of God 79 Notice, only Moses had the Word. Now, there wasn't a group came down; there wasn't just the Pharisees or the Sadducees; or it wasn't a certain sect or a clan. It was Moses. He got one man. He can't get two or three different minds. He takes one man. Moses had the Word, and Moses alone. Joshua even didn't have It. No one else had It. Amen. Joshua was a general; Joshua was a commander of the army. Joshua was a believer, a Christian. But Moses was a prophet. The Word can't come to Joshua; It's got to come to Moses. He was the major prophet of the hour. Notice, the Word never did come to Joshua till Moses was gone. No, sir. God deals with one at a time. God is One. See, see? Now, only Moses had the Word, not a group.

That is why we preach the way we do. I show you what the Tapes say and what the Bible says, and then tie them together. If I tried to find my way through a concordance to make my sermons and teach you doctrine I would be just as confused as the next man, but I don't.

I take what the prophet taught because he was vindicated and then I bring it back to the written word to show you where he got it from. I cannot do any other way for the Message did not come from a group think, it came from one source, and that one source is God Himself who came down with a shout and then spoke Lip to lip with his prophet as he promised He would do. Not lip to ear, as though he like any other man could hear God, but lip to lip. In other words when God spoke that prophets mouth moved.

Deuteronomy 18:15  The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken; 16  According to all that thou desiredst of the LORD thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not. 17  And the LORD said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken. 18  I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. 19  And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him. (you are going to have to answer for whether you listen or you don't) 20  But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.

Notice how exacting God's words are here. He says the prophet that presumes to speak when I have not spoken, I will require it from him. He's going to pay the price.

21 And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken? (and that is a very good question, so with the very good question we can expect an even a better than good answer from God.) 22  When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.

Now, notice he used two words here when speaking of the prophet who is speaking on his own and not according to what God spoke, He uses the words presumes to speak and who speaks presumptuously.

Now, both of the Hebrew words used here speak of an arrogance. The word presumes was translated from the Hebrew word zuwd, and the word presumptuously was translated from the word zadown.

The word zuwd is a primitive root meaning to seethe, or to be insolent, to be proud or deal proudly. And the word zadown  means arrogance, pride and proud.

So the Lord is telling us that there is only one motive for a man to tell you he is speaking on behalf of God when God did not tell him to do so and that is pride and arrogance.

And so we see that in Numbers the 12th chapter where Miriam the sister of Moses got puffed up and in doing so put Moses down, so God had to step in a deal with her.

Numbers 12:1And Miriam (The sister of Moses) and Aaron (the brother of Moses) spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman. And they said, Hath the LORD indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? (Now, why would his brother and sister say such a thing as that if it were not for a proud and arrogant spirit that was on them?) And the LORD heard it.  (Now the man Moses was very meek, (the Hebrew word used here means humble, depressed figuratively, in mind (gentle): or concerning circumstances (needy, especially saintly):--humble, lowly, meek, poor. So Moses did not come off as a know it all, nor even as a leader who said you go to follow me. He came off more of an unwilling leader. one who was forced to do the job, not one who vaunted himself into his position.) the man Moses was very meek above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.) (in other words he came off as the last man that should do the job, and that is why God could use him, because it was not about Moses, it was all about God.)

And the LORD spake suddenly unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and unto Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tabernacle of the congregation. And they three came out. 5  And the LORD came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam: and they both came forth. 6  And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream. 7  My servant Moses is not so, who is (is the only one that is) faithful in all mine house. 8  With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude (embodiment, shape, manifestation or image) of the LORD shall he (alone) behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses? 9  And the anger of the LORD was kindled against them; and he departed. 10  And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam became leprous, white as snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous. 11  And Aaron said unto Moses, Alas, my lord, I beseech thee, lay not the sin upon us, wherein we have done foolishly, and wherein we have sinned. 12  Let her not be as one dead, of whom the flesh is half consumed when he cometh out of his mother's womb. 13  And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, Heal her now, O God, I beseech thee. 14  And the LORD said unto Moses, If her father had but spit in her face, should she not be ashamed seven days? let her be shut out from the camp seven days, and after that let her be received in again. 15  And Miriam was shut out from the camp seven days: and the people journeyed not till Miriam was brought in again. 16  And afterward the people removed from Hazeroth, and pitched in the wilderness of Paran.

All I can say is wow! God was very angry with Miriam, but notice Aaron never became leperos, He was reprimanded but not smitten with leprosy which tells us he most likely did not say the words against Moses wife that Mirriam did, but he listened to her without shutting her down and that is why he also was rebuked. But he was never smitten with leprosy and he was never shut out of the camp. This was the woman, Moses sister who got hit the hardest because she was totally out of her place. But it also put the fear of God into Aaron. And it ought to put the fear of God into us in how we speak of God's prophet.

Now, back to br. Branham's sermon The Unveiling of God and we will pick up at pp.  80 Look, God warned any persons not to try to follow Moses into that veil: impersonators. See? Woman, man, priest, whoever it was, how godly, how...?... how much honor, how much they was, He warned, "Let Moses come alone. And if any man, even an animal, touches it, must be killed right there." Never break before that veil, that veil belongs to one person. That message is one. See? In the temple one man went in once a year, anointed and fixed to go in, not to bring out the Word, but to offer blood. To even walk in there before It, only one. Any other man died. See?

81 They spiritually die now. This is the spiritual veil. See? That was a natural veil. This is spiritual veil. See? They keep walking right on in behind there; you can tell them. "Oh, I know. I know that, but I..." Go ahead; it's all right; it only speaks... You remember, the last plague in Egypt was death, before the exodus. The last plague on earth is spiritual death before the exodus. Then they'll be cremated and turned back to the dust, and the righteous will walk out upon their ashes. But the last thing is spiritual death, rejecting the Word.

82 Now, notice, God warned any persons not to try to follow Moses into the veil of Fire. Moses was to be veiled; he had to come out of there. Moses went in as Moses, went into this Pillar of Fire; and when he walked back out, he was veiled, for he went into there, out of his traditions, the traditions of the elders. He saw the Pillar of Fire, but now he goes into the Pillar of Fire. See? Amen. And he come forth, veiled: God's Word in a man, veiled, here he come walking out. Oh, my, I can see it. Warned nobody else to try it, nobody even impersonate that. You better not. See? Even a priest or a holy man, whoever it was, cardinal, bishop, anything else, tried to go in that veil, died. God warned them. We'll have no impersonations.

I hope you see the importance of what brother Branham is telling us here. We cannot come forth with what we think the Bible says unless it has been authenticated and vindicated by God through a prophet who has come with "Thus Saith the Lord".

Now man has no right to say this means that unless it lines up with the teaching of a vindicated prophet. Then to say it any other way than he said it brings confusion and even heresy. But once you see it through the voice and then the eyes of a vindicated prophet, then that is all you will see.

83 His Word is revealed to one. It's always been. A prophet came with the Word of the Lord, each age, every time, down through the Scripture. The Word comes to one, in every age the same, even in the church ages from the very first to the last. Others have their places. That's right. Notice, but stay away from that Pillar of Fire. See? What a lesson we learn here. See, everybody wanting to be a Moses, and everybody...

It's like all the picture out there of preachers who want to be William Branham, and they all have their pictures with a light. I even seen one preacher who stood in front of the picture with William Branham where the pillar of fire was over brother Branham's head, and the man had the picture taken where he stood in front of Br. Branham's picture so that only the pillar of fire on the picture was visible over his own head.  To me that is very brazen and arrogant to try to do such as that.

84 You remember what Dathan and them said out there? They said, "Now, Moses, wait here just a minute; you take too much upon yourself. (See?) Now, there's other men here that God has called."That was true. They, each one were following fine as long as they went along, but when one tried to step up and take God's position that He give Moses, which was predestinated and ordained to that job, tried to take it, fire come down and opened up the earth and swallowed them right into it. See, see? Be careful. See? Just be a good, godly Christian, believing the Word. See? Stay away from that Pillar. What a lesson.

85 God had first appeared to Moses in a burning bush; God was veiled in the Pillar of Fire. Now, listen real close now for a minute. God first come to Moses; He was veiled. God was in a Pillar of Fire hid back in a bush (See?), like behind the skins (See?), back by the mercy seat at the altar. See? He is veiled. He's always veiled. And when He come to Moses, He was in a Pillar of Fire, veiled in the Pillar of Fire. But here before the people, God vindicated him by the same Pillar of Fire. See? Moses said...

86   Now, watch. Are you reading... Are you letting your minds drift way out? Can you, can... "He that's got ears, let him hear." See? When God appeared to Moses, it was in a Pillar of Fire, when He called him to his ministry. And Moses come and told the people about it. They couldn't believe it. Yet he done the miracles and things, but this time He visibly, scientifically appeared and vindicated Moses' ministry to be the same God that spoke to him, 'cause He appeared in the form of the Pillar of Fire and set the mountain on fire. And He come to Moses in a bush, spoke to him. All right.

87 God's first appearing to Moses in the burning bush veil. Before the people, God veiled again and vindicated Moses by the veil, by veiling Himself with the same Fire: same Pillar of Fire came down. From thence, from then, so they could only hear God's Word. You get it? Just the Word, they heard His voice. For Moses was to them the living Word: Moses. See, God had so proven that Word by Moses... See, Moses said... God said to Moses, said, "Go down there; I'll be with you; nothing going to stand before you. I AM THAT I AM."Moses come down and said, "You might not believe this, maybe, but God appeared to me in the Pillar of Fire, and He told me these things." "Oh, we have all kind of things like going on," Pharaoh said. Why, Pastor Pharaoh said, "Well, you got a cheap magician trick. Why, I got magicians here that can turn a serpent into a stick--a stick into a serpent. Come here, magicians." And they come over there and done the same thing.

88 Moses knowed, no nothing bothered him. How many impersonators they had, didn't make a bit of difference, Moses just stood still. The first thing you know, they crawled around awhile, and directly, Moses' snake just eat the rest of them up. See? Why? Like them apostles, they couldn't explain It. Moses didn't know how God was going to do it, but He was going to do it. Remember, He said Jambres and Jannes will return in the last days (See?) impersonations.  "And would deceive the very elect if possible," Matthew 24:24. See? Just exactly the same things, do the same kind of miracles and everything... Watch that Word. Watch that Word. And a man says he does the miracles, and still wants to believe there's three gods and there's all these kind, you get away from that. We know that's wrong. There's no such thing. See? The Word, every Word, every Word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God... Genesis, one Word... Over here, said, "Don't take or add one word." See, It's got to be that same Word. See?

89 Notice, the people seen something that had happened. Moses had been veiled as a... He was a prophet, and God had vindicated His Word now, went down there. And he seen signs and wonders. And then, after this, people got separated unto themself, a church. See, "church" means "called out." See? After they was called out of the world and became a people (See?), then God let Hisself be known that He was that Pillar of Fire. He proved Moses' message. See? He was the Pillar of Fire. They might've took the picture of It, I guess, if they'd had cameras, 'cause it was all on Fire. But they proved that, God proving that the message was right. The message was at hand, everything was; they was going to be exodused then. Veiled His prophet to this exodus people...

90 The people (Think.) seen something had happened to him. He was now different from the rest of the Israelites. He was a different... His message was different; he was different from the priests; he was different from anything. See, he was a different person. The people seen something had happened. God had veiled Himself in His prophet to speak His Words to them. That's what He had done. Moses was that living Word to the people, veiled by the Pillar of Fire, speaking what was to be veiled later behind badger skins. See?

91 The Word had to come from Moses first. See? Moses had the Word. They were written by God; nobody could interpret Them; Moses had to interpret Them first. That's the reason he veiled his face, 'cause he... Do you see It? See? Here it is. We could pick It, pack It up, and everything else there, but It's got to be revealed. In order to reveal, Moses had to become God to the people. You say, "That's nonsense." Why, He told--even told Moses, Hisself, "You'll be God, and Aaron will be your prophet." You see? See? So here He come (See?); He had to veil Himself, 'cause God's always behind a veil. Oh, my. Do you see It? God's hid from the public. Said, "Father, I thank You, You've hid It from the wise and prudent and revealed It to babes, them that wants to learn." See?

Let us pray...
