He that is Holy Still

Genesis 3:8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God
walking in the garden in the cool of the day: (the cool of the day
is in the evening time) and Adam and his wife hid themselves
from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.

Adam heard His Voice in
the cool of the evening and had fellowship with Him. There
was no condemnation to Adam. He heard the Voice of God, and he said,
"Father, now I lay me down to sleep." And he laid down and Eve on his
arm; the lion, the tiger, and the wild beasts laid right around him; there was
no harm, no way of getting sick, no way of wondering if he'd wake up in the
morning, they're going to wake up. Adam heard His Voice in the way that he
ought to have heard it. But one day he heard his wife's voice. Now, I better
leave that alone for a while. But he listened to the wrong voice, yet it was
his wife, the closest tie he had on earth. Why didn't he, like Job, "Thou speakest like a foolish woman"?
And if it would, the whole human race would be living instead of dying. It
changed the course of human beings and time. But he heard a Voice of God, he
had fellowship with it, but when he turned... How did he know that his wife was
wrong? Remember, it was pleasant.
Let us pray, dear Father we come
this evening in the precious name of your first born Son Jesus Christ, and we
hear these beautiful words concerning the refreshing that comes from your
Presence Lord. May we come tonight into that presence and be refreshed even as
Adam and Eve were refreshed by your presence in the cool of the evening in
their day. We would ask that you might bring us back into that fellowship that
was lost back there in the garden because Eve stepped out from thy Word. May we
step back into Thy Word and find our rest and fellowship with you, for we ask
it in Jesus Christ's name, Amen.
You may be seated, and
let's turn again in our Bibles to Acts chapter 3, and see the Omega of this
Alpha we have already read for our text.
Acts 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted,
that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the
presence of the Lord; 20 And he shall
send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: 21 Whom
the heaven must receive until
the times of restitution of all things, (that's Malachi 4) which
God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.
Notice we find in find in Acts
chapter 3 that God's Presence
is to come, and in His presence there is to be a refreshing. That's what he
said here. "when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord".
And that is what we are here for tonight, is to come
into His presence to refresh our Spirit, To refresh
our soul by laying in the glorious presence of the
God of all comfort.
The Apostle John taught us in 1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we
have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses
us from all sin.
You know, this walking in the presence of the Light,
the Word of God, by walking with His Holy Spirit, not only brings fellowship
but it brings cleansing. And not only cleansing, but the cleansing brings with
it rest.
There's nothing like a nice dip into cool water on a
hot muggy day to relax the body and help it unwind
from the stresses of life. And there's nothing like a hot soak in the tub on a
cold frigid day when you've been out and it's so cold you think you can never
get warm again. But step into the water and there's something about water that
relieves the pain and aching in your body.
They
even use water treatment for those with tremendous joint pain. They submerge
the bodies in it and then walk around in the water and they are free of the
pains of arthritis and other abnormalities. There's something about the water.
You
know, they had a custom back in the days of Jesus that when you had been
traveling all day, and when you finally arrived at one of the homes of the brethren
for fellowship, as you entered their doorway, you would slip off your shoes and
they had a basin there for you to wash your feet. And there was a reason for
that custom. And it wasn't to just make sure your dirty feet did not mess up
their floors. many of those floors were dirt so it did
not matter.
The
custom was to help you relax, so you would not feel uptight while you sat and
had fellowship. It helped you to feel at rest from your journey.
And
if you've ever liked to hike into nature, there's nothing like walking for
miles, and then coming to a cool stream and taking off your shoes and setting
your feet into the cool water to take away all the pain and discomfort that the
pounding of your feet have taken while you were hiking.
I
remember so well, many times in my youth, we walked for hour upon hour in the
woods near my home, and we loved to come to the Nine Mile Creek which was fed
by many small cold streams that came out of the ground. We would stop and take
off our shoes and just place our feet into that cool water. It brought rest to
the entire body. And in doing so, your
feet would be refreshed to walk many more miles.
Well,
the natural is only a type of the Spiritual, and in Psalm
110:19 we read, "Wherewithal shall a
young man cleanse his way? by taking
heed thereto according to thy word."
We also find this same advice spoken of in the New
Testament as well.
Ephesians 5:26 That he might sanctify
and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
Hebrews
Church dedication 59-0708M P:25 God, let this sink deep in the hearts. The
Word of God has no right to be preached out of an unholy mouth. It should
not be preached out of a mouth of a man that would say that Jesus Christ was
once one thing and now something else. It must be preached by a power of the
living God through sanctified lips that's dedicated to the service of the Lord.
Let these ashes, the waters of separation, be kept in a holy place. No
believer that ever takes on the Name of the Lord Jesus, that ever confesses Him
as Saviour, should ever do anything of the world. If he does, he should repent
of it quickly, because them words of the waters of
separation must be kept in a holy place, handled with clean hands. No man
has a right to preach the Gospel without first being sanctified from the cares
and things of this world.
God wants his people to be taught to discern between
what is right and what is wrong. what is holy and what
is unholy. That is what the whole purpose of the levitical Law was all about.
Leviticus 10:10 And that ye may put difference between
holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean;
Malachi
So do you have this discernment tonight? Do you know
when you see that unholy spirit in a religious people?
This sermon tonight could very well be placed as a
part of our series on TWINS, because we are still showing you there are two
spirits, a Holy Spirit in a sanctified and consecrated people and an unholy
spirit in a religious people. And God will not place his Holy Spirit in an
unholy vessel.
Because we are living in the hour when God is sifting
out the wheat from the pulp, and he is gathering His Seed into His garner. This
is the hour when he that is Holy will be Holy Still and He that is unholy will
be unholy still.
Revelation 22:11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust
still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that
is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be
holy still.
Angel of God 48-0304 P:44 I believe the separating time is here now. Letting him
that's filthy be filthy still; let him that's holy, holy still. The hour's
come when God's drawing the separating line. That's right. Church is
near to be in the rapture.
This leads us to what we will read from brother
Branham's sermon tonight on "What the Holy Ghost was given for."
Tonight we will read from paragraph 16.
16 And in the cool of the evening
He'd come down and commune with them. And there He lost that fellowship,
because sin would not
let Him do it.
Notice that God would come down for fellowship in the
cool of the evening, and I have traveled throughout most of the countries in
Central and Southern parts of Africa, and it is very interesting to drive
through the streets of the villages at night, coming back from meetings,
because you will see more people out in the late evening time, in the cool of
the evening than you will see outside during the day.
It seems they do not wish to stay inside at that time,
and that amazed me because the mosquitoes also come out at dusk. But the homes
are still hot from all day basking in the sun and so the people congregate
outside and just talk to each other until very late, once the homes have cooled
back down.
It seems there is something very natural, very common
everyday, about fellowshipping in the cool of the evening, and we even see in
Scripture that God did the same with Adam and Eve.
"16 And in the cool of the
evening He'd come down and commune with them. And there He lost that
fellowship, because sin
would not let Him do it. And
then He was made flesh and dwelt among us in order that He could come back
again to man, and live in man, and restore man to a state of
communion with Him again, and give him back his God given right. That's
what He did. That's the purpose of the Holy Ghost: It's the Father again,
God the Father dwelling in you, working out His plans to finish His plan
of redemption, working through you, making you a co-worker with Him,
giving you a place, giving you a part for your fallen lost brother and
sister, giving you His Spirit and His love to go hunt the lost as He did
in the garden of Eden. "Adam, Adam, where art thou?" That's what the Holy Spirit does to a man or a
woman. When It strikes into their heart and takes Its abode, there's a
thirst and a hungering for lost souls. That's what's
the matter with the meetings today; there's not enough Spirit touch
in it to go for the souls of the lost and the dying. It's more to make a name, or a
church, or a building, or a denomination, instead of a soul winning program.
How pitiful. We could stay on it much.
Now,
this evening we will look at just one thought here. This fellowship that God
had with Adam and Eve in the cool of the evening, and how it was broken. and he says here it was broken because God, Who is Holy
Could not have fellowship with an unholy Spirit.
Zechariah 14:7 But it shall be one day which shall be known to
the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.
So
we have the scene being played out again for us in this hour, and if alpha
repeats in Omega, God has come down once again in the evening time, to
fellowship with His children. But I want you to notice that brother Branham let
us know that it was sin which is unbelief that separated God from his children
back in the beginning.
He
said, 16 And in the cool of the evening
He'd come down and commune with them. And there He lost that fellowship,
because sin would not
let Him do it. And
Brother
Branham said in his sermon, Humble thyself 63-0714E P:30 I truly believe that what Brother Vayle said is the truth, that God will never put His
Spirit in an unholy, unrighteous, disobedient temple. No, It's got
to come in the way of the cleansing of our hearts from all guile and iniquity,
that we might be pure before God, that He might work His pure Holy Spirit
through us to bring these things to pass. I think that, when you go home
tonight, if you would read that little Book of Jude, you'd just learn a whole
lot now of what Brother Vayle has said. And he said that, "I earnestly contend for the faith that was once delivered to
the saints." They'd got away from it. How
men of corrupt mind, and so forth, had come in and beguiled them away from the
real things of God. And God can only operate as we let Him operate. And there's
so many wonderful things about saying the... 31 You
know, people want power, and really they don't know what power is. See? They
don't really know what goes with it. The way up is down always. If you want
power, see how humble you can get. Just get away from all your worldly
thinking, and humble yourself before God, and then you've got more power
than the man that runs all over the building and makes a big lot of noise
(See?); because you
have been able to conquer yourself and commit yourself to Christ
(You see?) to humble
yourself before Him. That's really power.
You show me a church that's humble, real humble, not a
arrogant church, just a sweet, humble church, I'll show you a church that
has the favor and power of God in it. That's right. That's the thing it
takes, humility, humbling ourselves before God, and letting God just work
through us....
Man running from presence 65-0217 P:63 If you can see people today, There's two
spirits; and One of them is the Holy Spirit; the other one's a unholy spirit, and one's
governed by that. And both of them religious, now, that's the strange
part; they're both religious. And just like Esau and Jacob was, both religious;
like Cain and Abel was, both religious; like Judas and
Jesus was, both religion--both religious... And we see it today, both sides
religious. See, it's the same spirit. The people die, but the spirit
doesn't die; it goes right on. Both religious, one of them is possessed with the Holy Spirit that lives
the kind of life that they should live and walk godly and honest.
They wouldn't beat you out of a penny, and they'd do everything honest that
they could to help you, and the others just as nice as they can be. And the
others we find out it's just visa versa, and yet both of them are religious
spirits. Two of them, one Holy Spirit and the other a
unholy spirit. And if you notice it'll... Even though claiming religion,
they'll make fun of you and call you a holy-roller; they do anything they can.
God of this evil age 65-0801M P:31 The two spirits, one of them God's Holy Spirit, the
other one the devil's spirit working in deception. The people of the earth are now
making their choice. The Holy Spirit is here calling out a Bride
for Christ. He's doing it by vindicating His Word of promise to Her for this age, showing that It is Christ. If the finger's
supposed to move in this age, the finger will move. If the foot's supposed to
move in this age, the foot will move. If the eye is to see in this age, the eye
will see. See? The Spirit of God, as It's grown into
the full statue of God is... The age that we're now living in, the Holy Spirit
is here vindicating the Message of the hour. And the Holy Spirit is doing this,
so that the people that believe God will be called out of this chaos. The devil's unholy spirit
is here calling his church by the error, as usual, by perversion of the
Word of God like he did at the beginning. See it coming right back to that
seed time again? From
Hear ye Him 57-0125 P:23 Now, hear it is. I want you to see it. Notice, what a beautiful picture that when a child was born into
the
Power of transformation 65-1031M P:93 Notice. The reason that they didn't know
they were naked in the beginning, there was a Holy Spirit veil them from
nakedness. They didn't know it. The Holy Spirit was over their eyes;
they seen nothing but their brother and sister. See? The laws... And they
didn't know they were naked. Holy Spirit...Now, the spirit of unholiness, uncleanliness, and lust has veiled them: education, science,
"Why, it's scientific. Wear shorts, it's cooler."
The Indians teach you better than that. They wrap up in a blanket to be air
conditioned (See?), and put on them... See, education has absolutely come back
to a time, the very thing that they think has brought them to culture and
civilization, has put them back in ignorance again worse than they was in the
first place.
Doors in door 65-0206 P:66 Look at
these women out on the street, and it's a disgrace. Maybe innocent little women with these
little bitty clothes on (See?), why, it's a disgrace, the way they look.
Well, you say, "Why, woman, you are committing adultery." They say,
"Wait a minute here, young man. I'm just as virtuous as I..." That
might be so in your own thoughts. And it might be so, proving even by a
medical examination that you might be. But, remember, at the day of the
judgment, you're going to answer for committing adultery. Jesus said,
"Whosoever looketh upon a women to lust after
her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart," and you presented yourself to him. See
how the Devil's got them blinded? It's a disgrace. It's a shame. You see, they got a spirit. It's a spirit
that does that. It's an unholy spirit. But a genuine Holy Spirit will
make a woman dress decently and look holy.
So
what we are looking at tonight is the two spirits motivating two different
types of people even though both are religious.
But One is the Holy Spirit, and as Brother
Branham actually quoted from brother Veils sermon on why Mark 16 is not being
produced in the churches, notice he said, "I
truly believe that what Brother Vayle said is the truth, that God will never put His
Spirit in an unholy, unrighteous, disobedient temple."
Because
God's Spirit is a Holy Spirit, and these people want
to live an unholy Life and then wonder why God's Holy Spirit is not in them
doing the works that He did in his Son.

Branham said in his sermon, Thinking man's filter
65-0822E P:72 Now,
let us all tonight check our desires, and then you can see what kind of a
filter you've been drawing through. Let's check, each one of us, here and
out across the nation. Check your desires, what you want really in life.
Check what you're fighting for. Check what you're here for. Check what you go
to church for. What makes you... It's good to go to
church, but just don't go to church only; that won't save you. See? Just check
just a few minutes. Say, "Is my objective... What--what kind of a filter am I drawing through anyhow?" And if you won't cope
with the Word of God, and your soul don't do it, then
there's something wrong, for it shows up your taste, that the life, what kind
of a life is in you. If
it's a holy, discreet, honorable, it'll come out that way. If it
isn't you've got another taste in you you're drawing from. That's exactly
right. And if the taste
is the Word of God and the will of God, then you know what's in you,
what's drawing the taste. Shows
you are a part of that Word. That Word is in you drawing from the Word.
And
again from the same sermon, Thinking man's filter
65-0822E P:49 Notice
that Word cannot deny
Itself. Then it is satisfied, or it's the desire. It's a desire of
what? What made you
desire It in the first place? Because down
in your soul there was a predestinated seed which was Eternal Life always laying in there--always was in there. "All that the Father has given Me
will come to Me. There isn't any of them going to be
lost." "A thinking man's
taste..." When a thinking man hears the Word of God, "My sheep hear My Voice, a stranger they will not follow," for down in there is Life,
and Life connects with Life. Sin connects with sin, and sin is so hypocritical until it thinks that
it's saved when it isn't saved. It's in the very depths of
hypocrisy. Church members want a denomination filter so that they can have
their own desire and still be classed religious people. You hear them say,
"Oh, he's very religious."
And
again, Thinking man's filter 65-0822E P:29 Now, to follow that in with the continuity of the message
"The God Of This World," "The Anointed Ones In The
Last Days" That outside, that middle circle... First circle is the
human senses; the second circle is the spirit senses: Will--self-will, desire,
and so forth. But the inside is the soul. That soul was predestinated. So they
can anoint this spirit to make the outside body come in subject to the spirit.
"But the soul that sinneth,
that soul
shall die." The soul that rejects
in unbelief, the Word of God, which it is a part of, that soul shall eternally, has,
always...I believe in an eternal death, same as I believe in an eternal heaven,
but not an eternal hell. There's no such a thing as eternal hell. There is an
eternal death for the people that are...Many of them religious in the world
today has always been dead. The woman that liveth in pleasure
with her bobbed hair and painted face is dead while she is alive. The
Bible said so. See? See, she may be religious, but she never was saved.
She's got a outward motion. She might sing in the
choir, or she might dance in the Spirit; she might speak in tongues and have
all the manifestations of the Spirit; but unless that soul on the inside is God's daughter (See?),
she's gone no matter
what she does.
Satan's Eden 65-0829 P:53 Now, by unbelief and not taking all the Word of God, has brought a seed of unbelief,
unholy, sinful, hatred, and eternal death is in this sinful
intellectual church age. Now, you got it? In this day that when the whole world
is religious... Did you know that? The whole world is religious. And in
this religious age, big churches on every corner, every thing... The whole
thing winds up in Satan being worshipped. Here it is right here in the Bible.
That's right.
Hebrews Chapter 5 and 6 57-0908M P:33 Watch this: let's get this word
"perfection." Do you know there's only one way you'll stand in the
Presence of God? That's perfect. God cannot tolerate unholy things. And you legalists, how
could you ever perfect yourself, when you have not one thing to perfect
yourself with? You were borned in sin. Your very conception was in sin. The
very desire of you being here was sin: "Borned in sin, shaped in iniquity, come to
the world speaking lies."
Now, where are you going to stand at? Where you, sinner, that said, "I'll
quit smoking and I'll go to heaven?" Where are you, lukewarm, mossback, so-called Christian, that goes around here
with a long face and saying that "Well, I belong to the church?" You
sinner... That's right. Unless
you are borned of the Spirit of God, you're lost. That's true.
Hebrews Chapter 10 Verse 29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose
ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God,
and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an
unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
2 Timothy 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters,
proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
Uniting time and sign 63-0818 P:82 ... when that Trumpet sounds, "He that's filthy is filthy still. He that's
righteous is righteous still. He that's holy is holy still." O Lord God, to think of us
standing, in a moment in a twinkling of an eye, when the world won't know
what's going on, but all of a sudden, you'll see appear before you, your
loved ones that's gone on has come to unite with you again. And we'll be
changed in a moment in a twinkling of an eye, and be caught up together to meet
our Lord in the air, and then unite with Him to be there forever, and
never to have to be out of His Presence again.
QA on the seals 63-0324M P:161 34. After the rapture has taken
place...Now, there will be a carry over time, of course, one message carrying
to the other one. It has to come right in like this (You see?), as I
explained that (See?), like Paul to the Gentiles and so forth. All right. After the rapture has been taken place, will
any of the church be saved in the end who was not
taken in the rapture? No.
Huh-uh, 'cause the Blood's done left. You see,
there'll be no intercessions; the Gentile age is finished. There'll be no
one saved after the rapture, none of the church. Huh-uh.
The church... "Let
him that's filthy be filthy still, him that's holy be holy still." See? That won't take place, not
after the Church is gone.
Seventy weeks of Daniel 61-0806 P:84 The Jews are in a homeland. We're at the
end of the age, ready for the rapture. The rapture comes; the church
goes up; we're caught up to meet Him in the air. We all know that. The Stone that was cut out of
the mountain is ready to come at any time. And when It comes, what does It do? It does away with the Gentile
age. It's all over, and God completely quits dealing with them. "Let him that's filthy be filthy still; let
him that's holy be holy still." See? What does He do then? He takes His church, the Holy
Ghost filled. What's the filthy? That's the sleeping virgin and them that
comes up for judgment way over in here ...
