LOOK 12

To Those that Look for Him

MARCH 14, 1992

Brian Kocourek

As we continued last week with brother Branham’s message entitled LOOK, we read from pp. 69 - 76 and saw brother Branham bring  out 3 more important points.

I)  He  said, "THE ONLY WAY WE CAN SEE JESUS IS TO SEE THE WORD,  FOR HE IS THE WORD.  We examined this by scripture and saw the  Apostle Paul make the same statement time and time again. Paul had a direct  encounter with Jesus Christ after His  resurrection,  but this  question  was  no doubt asked of Paul, I  am  sure.  "Paul, you  have met Jesus Christ and He has personally talked  to  you, you  have Faith because you know, you have seen Him,  You've  met Him,  but  what about me? You know what you have to do.  He  told you.  But what about me? How do I know what to do? What would  He tell  me  to  do? Paul looked that disciple in the  eye,  with  a loving kindness he simply spoke this word, < SURRENDER >. "That's what He would say, < SURRENDER >. II COR 5:16-21.

II. The  second point we examined was this statement, "ONLY GOD  HIMSELF  CAN TAKE AHOLD OF THE CAMERA OF YOUR EYES AND LET  YOU  SEE WHAT GOD IS, AND WHAT HIS PURPOSE IS,...FAITH IS  DESIGNED TO SEE WHAT GOD WILLS AND WANTS,...YOUR GOD GIVEN FAITH FOCUSES YOU WITH THE WORD OF GOD, IT FOCUSES YOU AWAY FROM ALL ELSE. We found that the scripture emphatically tells us that No man can come unto the Father  except God calls him. We also see that no man can  understand unless God gives Him that understanding. So it is God who's will  we  desire, Who's Faith we enter, Who's Life we  live.  And this brought us to point number 3.

III. "THE WORD BRINGS YOU INTO RELATIONSHIP WITH CHRIST." That's what it is all about isn't it? That's what we strive for. That's  what we  live for. That's what we come to church for. To enter into  a deeper  and more meaningful relationship with Him. After all,  He is  our  Father. We are His Children.  How could we  ever  become fulfilled without this personal relationship, that we so  greatly desire?

Today, I wish to continue our study of this beautiful sermon that is called LOOK. Let's pick up at pp. 76 - 92.

                          I

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING AT? WHAT ARE WE SEEING? ( Are we seeing  what God is seeing or,  are we seeing what the  world is seeing.) WHAT ARE WE LOOKING AT, WHAT ARE WE SEEING?....

                          A

HEBREWS 9:28 Brother Branhams' text. The word LOOK here is  Apekdechomai  = ( to await or expect eagerly ) "wait" TO  THOSE  THAT ARE EAGERLY EXPECTING HIM SHALL HE APPEAR THE SECOND TIME WITHOUT SIN.  ( In Hebrews 9, Paul tells us that Jesus took on a veil  of flesh  to become sin that we might become the very  righteousness of God. But Here he speaks of an Appearing that will come not  by a BODY, but without sin.

TO THOSE THAT LOOK FOR HIM: LOOK = to those who eagerly await his Appearing. But remember the warning. Brother Branham said, "IT ALL DEPENDS  ON WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING AT". So we see point  number

                       I

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING AT ?  ...  WHAT ARE WE SEEING ?

Some saw an excitable, uneducated, illiterate Kentuckian,...But others saw God...ALPHA IS OMEGA  ...    MATT 26:57-68

Last week we spoke of Moses and Pharaoh, both raised in the courtof Pharaoh. But when Both saw the plight of the Hebrew  children, Moses  saw  the  Promise of deliverance while  Pharaoh  saw  only slaves. Both looked out the same window on the same mud  daubers, but  one  saw with the eyes of God while the other saw  with  the eyes of man.

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT? WHAT ARE YOU SEEING? II COR 11:1-4 ?( What promise do you see for today. A super duper church full of power  and  outward manifestations of the Spirit. Or do  you  see what Paul told Luke to look for ... surrender. Let the mind of Christ come in.

GAL  5:5-10  Paul says we eagerly expect to reap what our Faith will  produce. Then Paul rebuked the Galatians because some of the brethren from Jerusalem  who  held to the law but claimed to be  believers  had come to Galatia to try and undo all Paul had taught the people.

II THES 3:5This eagerly awaiting for Christ is to be a patient one. That  is what  had happened in the first age. They got tired  of  waiting, and instead of patiently anticipating, they got ahead of God  and began  to push for perfection in the flesh, and went back to  the law and works.

ROM  8:19-25  Here we see this word used three times  and  all  3 speak of an eager anticipation that we have in longing and  waiting for the change of our body.

PHIL  3:20-21: Why  do we eagerly await the Appearing of the Lord Jesus  Christ, because It is to produce a change in our body.

I cor 1:4-10:Waiting  for the apokolupsis, Why? look at verse 8, It will  confirm  us.  To confirm is: < to establish as True that  which  was doubtful or uncertain >....that is exactly II JOHN 3:2 (read)

I COR 1:8 which is EPHESIANS 1:4

Now  in this  scripture we see Paul saying, "FOR THOSE THAT  LOOK FOR HIM, THOSE THAT EAGERLY AWAIT HIM, SHALL HE APPEAR, SHALL  HEOPTANOMAI  THE SECOND TIME. Not just Appear as the  church  world has incorrectly taught the people for the past 2,000 years.

OPTONOMAI:  (  It means to look upon with wide open  eyes  as  at something remarkable. to appear, look, see, shew self. It is used with reference to an inward impression or spiritual experience.)

The  church  world has LOOKED for Him for 2,000  years  now,  but wrongly. Now, I am going to read you a few Scriptures and while I do, remember what Brother Branham said, "WHAT ARE WE LOOKING  AT?  WHAT ARE WE SEEING?

REV 1:7A Now what were you taught in denomination that this is?

LUKE 21:27  With ( Dunamis: Miraculous Power ) and ( DOXA ) Huh?

                 II THES 1:7 - 12   MALACHI 4 (all)

Now  this  same Greek word that is used for the word See is  also the same word that Paul used in Hebrews 9 for the word Appear. We can  look  further into scripture and understand that  this  word does not speak of being a passive spectator, or onlooker with the eyes. But it goes far beyond a mere visual sight. It refers to  a stimulated view that holds one in awe, to look at something  with wide open eyes as at something remarkable. It refers to an inward impression or a spiritual experience. JOHN 3:36

JOHN 16:16-19  The "see not" word is THEREO: SPECTATOR

I JOHN 3:2 How do we SEE Him? As He is! And He is the Word without a veil.

II COR 3:18 We see Him in all His Glory and we are changed from Glory - Gloryfrom opinion to opinion, from assessment to assessment.

ROM 15:21 to see and to understand.

HEB 12:14  Without holiness, they shall not see GOD. You can't understand.

JOHN 11:40 the Glory of God

LUKE 17:22 one of the days of the son of man

MATT 5:8 They shall see God. Now how do you see God?

2) YOU MUST BE SIMPLE ENOUGH TO GET OUT OF YOUR OWN WAY.

3)  FOCUS  IT  DOWN TO JESUS AND HIM ONLY. (Remember  he  is  the    Word.) LOOK TO HIM AND YOU'LL SEE WHAT GOD'S PURPOSE IS.
