the people.
Shall we pray. Heavenly Father, we’re grateful again to be
in Your divine Presence, knowing, Lord, that You are here in a way You have not
been here for roughly two thousand years, O God. And in a way, Lord, over four
thousand years because You’re ready to lead us into a promised land. We’re grateful for that. And we pray, Father, that you will teach us
the things that we ought to know because we know there are things that must be
known to us. Strange that people would
want something else; they would figure it out a different way but, Lord,
somehow we’re simple enough to believe that You came down literally to give us
a proper education for what is ahead of us, to train us up and bring us into
that Light and that path, Father. And we
know it’s something which is by Revelation; we praise You for it, O God. Reveal to us Your Words. Satisfy peoples’ hearts and minds tonight,
Lord, what their questions might be. And
give us also a Communion service, Lord, to remember You, solemnizing our hearts
at this occasion. In Jesus’ Name we
pray, Amen. You may be seated.
Now,
we’re looking at some questions that came in.
We don’t have really too many, but we’ll answer them and then we’ll just
have the Foot-washing and Communion service.
Perhaps we won’t be so late tonight.
Well,
we have one here and this is... well, let’s see, we’ll answer this question
first because--although it is not one that’s really in line with what we’ve
been studying, however...
[Question # 1]
It’s a good question over here in Gen 4:7 and it’s relative to the conversation or the instructions that God gave Cain concerning the proper
offering. And in verse 7 it said...
(7) If
thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin
lieth at (thy) door. And unto thee shall
be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.
And the question was
concerning the last part: ... “and unto thee shall be his desire, and thou
shalt rule over him.”
Now,
in the Septuagint it actually brings out a better understanding than even the
Hebrew. I don’t know how they happen to
have arrived from the Hebrew to the Greek to be so pertinent, where the
Scripture says, “Thou hast done well” ... Thou hast rightly offered but thou
hast not rightly divided, therefore hast thou not sinned. And this is in perfect line with the New
Testament that tells us that the Word must be rightly divided to be approved of
God. And this,
of course, is the theme of the entire
Bible, which theme must be recognized through the entire Bible because it is
set forth in Genesis where Adam and Eve were two young worshippers in
the Garden of Eden worshipping God and
they definitely became ensnared by a wrong understanding of the Word-- a misinterpretation
of it, a misleading of it. And from that
point on they were in great trouble with the Lord, with themselves and had
literally given themselves over to the enemy even though at that particular
time they had not done the thing that the enemy wanted them to do. And you see all through Scripture there is a
problem with the right dividing of the Word.
Now, in my understanding here… because this is literally an offering of
fruit which is something that the Lord instituted as a first-fruit offering. But you notice he turned aside the offering
which God demanded which was the offering of blood which then could be followed
with the first-fruit offering which signifies resurrection.
So,
now at this particular time, you see they had forfeited their right to live in
the Garden and to live the six thousand years before they would be transformed
into immortal beings. And so here, this
individual, Cain, and Abel also, were offering a sin offering-- They were supposed
to be offering a sin offering but Cain did not offer a sin offering-- But they
were supposed to be offering an offering unto God which would allow them the
privilege of maintaining a relationship with God, though it would not give them
immortality. But later on, after the
resurrection, they would be able to come into that particular position--they
had forfeited that. Now, here’s what
he’s saying here, then. He said, [Gen
4:7 paraphrased]
(7) (You
have offered well, but you didn’t divide the Word, so therefore you are
entirely wrong. And you cannot be
accepted.)
But
notice, that that did not do away with the actual sin offering, because he said
here... he’s talking about a sin offering but the word ‘sin’ in the Hebrew and
the Greek is the same as ‘sin-offering’--sin and sin-offering is the one and
the same word. It’s just like ‘healing’
in the Greek and ‘salvation’ is one and the same word. You’re not dealing with separate words;
you’re dealing with the one word. So
here, what you’re looking at --you’re looking at the fact a sin-offering was
available to Cain and he turned the sin-offering down. Now, that’s kind of like it is today. The sin-offering has always been available. The shedding of Blood’s been available. Now, watch how this comes a hundred percent
with Jn 3:16. (See?)
(16) ...
God so loved the world, …he have his only begotten son, that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Now,
there’s been an offering that has been given to God. Now that offering stands there. There can never be an offering outside of
Blood. Atonement can only come by
Blood. Now, it says here that not only
did God give this but He didn’t want man to be condemned. But in spite of the fact of the shed Blood,
man is condemned because he will not come to the Light. Now, you see this is what Cain’s trouble
was. He simply wouldn’t come to the
Light. There’s no way he could do it
because he was Serpent seed. So there’s
no way he could get a revelation; he couldn’t have it. So what you’re seeing here when it says, “...
unto thee shall be his desire”... Now, I didn’t look that up in the
Hebrew. But if you go to the Hebrew and
the Greek you will find that one word, according to context and according to
‘contexts’ (you could say in the plural) could have ten, twelve, thirteen or
fourteen different meanings. So when
we’re looking at the thought here of
“...unto thee shall be his desire”... ahhh... you’re... in my
understanding, I would say this: that what has been procured for the offering
for sin will always be there and all you have to do is stretch forth your hand
and take it, that you have the right and dominion to it. Now, this is like the Bible said, that “God
loved the world” --but now, there’s two kinds... there’s two worlds though--But
let’s go a little further. “That God is
not willing that any should perish; but all should come to a knowledge”. But are they going to come? No, they’re not going to come! (See?) Notice what I’m
saying here? He said, “...unto (you)
shall be his desire”...I’m putting that in the understanding of the whole Word
of God. The sin-offering is there. The lamb’s life and blood to be shed is
there. Not one lamb, but many
lambs. Not one bullock, but many. Not one turtle-dove, but many. The sin-offering was there but… and it says,
“Look, it was shed for you. It’s there
for you”-- that’s the object. Then He
says here, “And thou shalt rule over him”...You’ll make the choice.
Now,
look today… you got a vindicated Message in the land and a vindicated
prophet. Until just recently, the church
historians have admitted that nobody in two thousand years had a ministry like
Bro. Branham. Men like Dr.
Otto...[Witt]?... in Germany, a fine theologian... when Bro. Roberts went over
there, promiscuous--well, that word is not ‘promiscuous’ in the sense of being
promiscuous but--praying in a manner as though he had the right to pray for
everybody with the expectation that everybody would be healed, rather than the
definitive ministry of Christ who did not pray for everybody but singled them out
and knew beforehand what was going to happen.
So Bro. Branham had that ministry.
And when Bro…[Statscliff]?… their little baby (I think it was a baby girl) died, they
phoned Bro. Branham and asked him if he would fly to
Now,
in spite of the definitive ministry which ministry is good, but any theologian
knows that anybody who gets sick and healed and anybody raised from the dead is
got to die, eventually. So therefore,
healing is not an end in itself, as is the rebirth, the Baptism with the Holy
Ghost, is an end in itself in the sense that you now have everything that is
vital to the journey to bring you there with a high hand, with a glorious life
expended for Jesus Christ and a greater life beyond it. (See?) Healing is a witness to the
resurrection. (See?) So, all right. What we see in this same thing here at the
beginning is what you see at the end, you see in the time of Noah, you see at
the time of Jesus. You see a constant
repetition. God displaying Himself in
either a genuine healing ministry or--and usually that’s what it is--a miracle
ministry to attract the people to what lies ahead, which is the Word.
So here, you got here, in Genesis, the
fourth chapter... Look! The Blood... the sacrifice is always there. And the sacrifice will always be there
because the Lamb (L-A-M-B) is on the Throne.
Not the mediator; not the man (although he is)… the Lamb. And remember, the wounds are always
there. So, therefore there is always the
honor to the Blood. And always the
availability and the power is there. But
this man, he positively chose even to turn down the sacrifice. See, now you got people doing that all the
time. So what does it say? What is it
saying here? “...unto thee shall be his desire...” It simply tells you, “Look,
this is what it is for. This is what it
was prepared for.” And when... the desire means, “Here is my fulfillment.” And
Christ saying the same thing, “I am fulfilled in this regard to you.” But it is of no value if you turn down what
goes with it--which is the Word--and you wrongly divide It and bring to
yourself another revelation which is not the revelation of the Blood. Now, let’s understand this flat: The
revelation of the Blood positively rests with the revelation of the Word. Now, let me show you something here in
Scripture... in Book of Hebrews the 10th chapter.
Now it says here,
(26) ...if
we sin wilfully after... we have received the knowledge of the truth, there
remaineth no more sacrifice for sins.
(28) He
that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
(29) Of
how much sorer punishment, suppose (you), shall he be thought worthy, (that)
hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and... (count) the blood of the
covenant, wherewith he was sanctified an unholy thing, and hath done despite
unto the Spirit of grace?
Now,
he’s telling you right here: if you have a wrong understanding of the fullness
of the Blood, you of course will not accept any Light that goes with it. In other words it’s always back and
forth. You cannot possibly be a
recipient, and a... what you might call, one who benefits--a ‘benefitor’ of the
Blood of Jesus Christ--and turn down the Word.
It says here, positively under Moses, the shed blood did not harbor
those who turned down the Word. Look at
the man that gathered sticks on Sunday...
Sabbath Day, Saturday--last day of the week. The blood was shed but it didn’t do any
good. Now, we’re not talking in terms of
legalism. We’re talking in terms of
Light, because they didn’t have the Light on the subject. And so they said to Moses, “What are we going
to do? This man was gathering
sticks.” They said, “Put him in
quarantine. We’ll inquire of the
Lord.” And so therefore when the
inquiring of the Lord was, the man had turned down the Light of the revelation
of the Word of God and therefore the blood did not hold for him. And that’s just an example. So, all through Scripture you find this. It starts in Genesis; it goes all the way
through the Bible. No matter how much
God would desire to save the unsaved, no matter how much the Blood of Jesus
Christ is efficacious, no matter how much he’s a mediator, no matter how much
he’s an intercessor, no matter how much was accomplished according to Isaiah 53
and the raising from the dead and the setting at his own right hand, to turn
down the Light--the misdivided Scripture-- absolutely makes null and void the rest.
Jesus
Christ himself said, “You made void my commandments by your traditions.” He also, he said, “No Word of God is void of
power.” And turns right around and said,
“You voided the power of the Word and the promises by a misunderstanding, a
misinterpretation.” This is what runs
all through the Bible. And it says, “No
matter how much this is for you...” it’s just like a lamb standing there
pleading, “Why don’t you kill me because I’m here to be sacrificed for you, so
you can have the life that you’re supposed... that you could have.” Now, you can kind of visualize that in your
mind. Now, just turn that on to Jesus
Christ, the Lamb of God. Here’s a sinner
here, and here’s a sinner here and he’s crucified in the middle. The one said, “Why don’t you get off your
cross if you’re the son of God? Come on
down and get us with you. We’ll go out
and get drunk together.” Oh, he expected
to go out and get drunk and chase women... or maybe kill somebody. That was the one man’s temperament. The other temperament, in the spite of
everything he saw contrary to what human senses would indicate, he said,
“Remember me when you come to your Kingdom.”
Now, that one person could no more believe than nothing. Two of them saw the same thing. And one man recognized the suffering
Redeemer. You know, his faith was way
ahead of anybody’s faith--even John--and there wasn’t one person standing there
that had the actual faith that that thief upon the cross had. He had the greatest revelation of that hour.
So
that’s going around this question to try to help you to see that it’s a basic
doctrinal premise. It’s not simply a
question; it’s a doctrinal, basic premise because here is the first actual
sacrifice to God. Now, while you’re
thinking of this, remember that previously God had come down and sacrificed for
Adam and Eve--that’s Melchisedec. This
is not Melchisedec. This is the
Aaronic--man sacrificing to God, man worshipping God. So, you can see your Melchisedec formula
coming all the way down. “Lo, a body hast
thou prepared for me.” What kind of
body? Not a body out of the elements
that, Bro. Branham said, “God could step into in Melchisedec, step
out of where the body goes back to the elements.” But symbolic of the body
which would be human, which would enter the Aaronic Priesthood to be elevated
to the Melchisedec Priesthood through immortality and continuing to serve man
from God’s side. (See?) Right... all down the line. All the Scripture dovetails; there’s never
any problem if you just, you know, take a look at it.
I
hope that answers your question because I’m thoroughly satisfied that that is
the right answer. I may have time
sometime to look it up in the Hebrew, and I’m quite satisfied I’ll find those
root words in there. All right...
[Question
# 2]
It is my understanding, the Bride who died
(that’s the individual members) go to
their theophanic bodies or forms at the time of the Rapture, come back to
receive their newly created bodies...
OK. They do
die. And of course Bro. Branham
said “We
are not disembodied spirits; we go to that body which is there waiting for
us.” And there’s no two ways about
it; that’s right spoken of in 2 Corinthians, the 5th chapter.
(1) For
we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a
building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
Now, that tells you something right
there: that this is a body that is absolutely unknown upon the earth. Tells you, “...it’s eternal; not made with
hands. And it’s from the heavens.” “So it doesn’t have a thing to do with
calcium, potash, as cosmic light and petroleum,” Bro. Branham said. (I don’t know if all those are there, but I
imagine they are, with a whole lot more... because I’m not a biologist,
biochemist or anything else.) So when
you die you go to that form which is waiting for you. (See?)
Doesn’t even say it’s created. I
think Bro. Branham used the word ‘create’ but I don’t think that he used it
consistently with his own preaching because he said, “The
word ‘eternal’ means it didn’t have a beginning,” and anything created has a
beginning. It’s just like...[even
with]?... Jesus... the difference between Jesus and God is the fact that he’s
the son of God. He had a beginning. Sons have beginnings; it that right? Put it together. You got to get comfortable with everything
Bro. Branham said or you’ll go crazy.
So
you go there, in that you are completely sensate, but not in the terms of a
physical sensate body. In other words,
if you shook hands you’d know you’re not just going to... my hand will go
through your hand. It’ll go ‘chook!’
like that... grab a hold. No arthritis,
by the way. You can walk, step on each
others corns because there are no corns.
You can hug each other and no sensation which is a wrong sensation. (See?)
You know...[but think]?... about wrong sensations... I won’t go into
them, but the world’s full of ‘em. It’s
getting worse, worse, worse, worse, worse.
Now...
and there’s conversation. And it’s a
perfect picture of what you were in your youth and your physical body. So that body must have been the true and
original image-- yah!... of what we were genetically and generically as
spirit-beings with the soul being able to use what is there to make a
form. And at that time there was nothing
there but spirit. That’s how it could be
eternal. Now, I don’t understand it, but
I believe it and I like it. And I know
it’s true. And if we should die, we go
there. And it is fully commensurate with
what we are as seed and sons, attributes of God.
All
right. Remember, you bypassed that for a
greater glory of God and a greater glory of ourselves. It’s God going to give it to us. So what He does... He gives us the
opportunity to be full of the Holy Ghost which is closely commensurate, as much
as possible, to the theophanic form. And
in this form we live. And if we should
be living here and die, decay, we must have a glorified body. So what happens is, God recreates all the
elements and that form--and remember: you are inseparable from that form, the
same as you are inseparable from this form.
You... as I showed you, the word ‘corpse’ (nekros)... “With what body do
the dead come?” And when that body
--dead body-- is spoken of, it is spoken of in the same reverential, completely
identifying tones and language as is the soul, the seed of God. So you cannot separate yourself from your
theophany. And you cannot separate your
theophany from your mortal body. No
way... mm-mm. So therefore, the mortal
body is recreated. Bro. Branham said, “God
create again.” That’s good
terminology. He used it; I’ll use it,
too. And it comes back exactly as you
were in your youth except you are not now motivated by a spirit that was given
to you at birth. Nor are you motorized,
activated, by a life through blood. It’s
entirely Holy Ghost and soul. Now, you
have this glorified body.
Now what happens is: you will pick up
your body in your theophany and go up.
Now, we cannot get rid of our theophany.
It is a part of us. As Bro.
Branham said, “Your rebirth... you heard from your theophany.” “Good Morning, up
there!” Say, “Yes!” Identified. What happens is: we are glorified down here
through the processes of First Corinthians, fifteen. In other words, glorification and the spirit
(or Word)-body are not so related that one has to be there with the other
because it is not. D’you follow what I
mean? It doesn’t have to come down here; or we have to go it. That’s only how it works for the dead. So what happens? We’re changed. But it is a part of us, so we meet it in the
Rapture, and go to the Wedding Supper.
(See?) That sounds strange but
it’s true. (Eh?)
[Question # 2, continued]
Since the Word or theophanic form and
body’s eternal and glorified body’s immortal, are these bodies joined or combined
in some way after the Rapture?
They
are combined at the Rapture. That’s
exactly. And that’s something... in
other words, it’s the complete metamorphosis.
The metamorphosis of God’s children is completed.
All
right... another question here... question on God becoming--in ‘Who Is This
Melchisedec?’ All right? Now...
[Question # 3]
We’ve seen how Jesus came and how we came,
bypassing the theophany. Where is the
Lamb placed as Christ?
Well...
Bro. Branham said, It was foreknown of God in His thinking, in His
omniscience (He didn’t say this but I’m
saying it) perpetrated through His omnipotent predestinating power. When he preached ‘Melchisedec’ he said, “I am
in the pulpit preaching. This is the
complete will of God. You’re in the pews
listening. That
is the complete will of God.” So,
we’re looking at Jesus, who is a part of God-- as Bro. Branham said, (and
he didn’t say that about you and me as a part of God, the way he said it about
Jesus) he said that, “Jesus did not bypass his theophanic
form..” Now let me say this: In the
blueprinting of God, God being God, and therefore absolutely necessary for Him
to follow His own genetic pattern, it was absolutely vital that Jesus would be
the Lamb. And he couldn’t be the Lamb in
a Word-body. He couldn’t do it. So, therefore, in the beginning he was given
the Word-body. The Name first of all on
the Book, signifying the blueprint and the Wisdom of God. The next thing comes forth the
Word-body. And there the Bible says,
“All things were created by Christ Jesus.”
And you know absolutely how that was done. “In the beginning God created heaven and
earth… God was in Christ reconciling the world... It’s my Father in me who
doeth the works.” You find therefore,
now, God Himself moving and operating through the son and all of these things
have come into being. Now, the Word of
God distinctly says, that... in the Book of Philippians. [Chapter 2]
(5) Let
this mind... which was also in Christ Jesus
(6) Who,
being in the form of God...
In
other words, that which would be the thing that strikes the eye if there is a
spiritual eye there to catch it, or something there that could apprehend
it. It’s something like the old thing...
because noise is simply vibration and a rock rolling down the hill causes
vibration, if there’s no ear to hear it is there actually a noise? Well,
certainly, there’s a noise. You say,
“Prove it.” Well, I’m not stupid. I
don’t try to prove anything. Certainly
there’s a noise. There’s a gopher here
to hear it. Don’t worry; there’s a
butterfly... who knows. God’s there to
hear it. There’s a noise.
So,
we’re looking down through the ages, and we see that God has predestinated this
one to be the Lamb. So the Scripture
says now, though he had that form there, but he lays that form aside and he
takes upon himself a form that can be seen by every eye, which is the form of
man. And there you see what we’re
talking about here. Where does it place
the Lamb? He laid aside his theophanic
form. You couldn’t crucify it. And he didn’t need it and he couldn’t have it
if he was going to be identified with you and me. Now, the same one that had that form which
was in the form of God back there, as Bro. Branham said, “A
Word-body, a Spirit-body” he said,
“Lo, in the volume of the book it is written of me. I come to do Thy will, O God.” Why? Because
“a body hast thou prepared for me.”
Now, the preparation of that body (in my understanding) is like the
preparation of the body of Adam and Eve,
in that, God did something for that Individual whom we call Christ, who
already had within him, being a son of God (a part of God) the genetic ability
to bring forth... as Bro. Branham said , “A
light begins to form.” And there wasn’t even a thing there to form
out of it. So what happened? It was a natural forming of a body which
could be seen (if you’re able to see)--that which meets the eye... that form,
way back there-- that which had developed from itself naturally. Now a form... a body is prepared physically
through the sperm and the egg in the womb of Mary. And this is that Lamb. Now, that Lamb died. He gave his life. He went down into Hades--the soul did. The body went to the grave. The spirit went back to God who gave it. He split three directions. The body could not begin to disintegrate or
deteriorate (corrupt, anyway). God
wouldn’t allow it. Within the three days
it wasn’t allowed to happen. Then what
happened? The Life came back into the
glorified body.
Now
what happens? There is absolutely no
doubt that Jesus Christ, on his ascension, laid aside that body and took on
another form--and we’re not talking about the man now, because that’s a human
being involved, a Lamb there. We’re
talking about that other... that other side there-- He went back to a Pillar of
Fire. And that’s the One that met Paul
on the road to
Now,
is there a separation from the theophanic form?
In my mind there is no doubt that there is... no doubt that there
is. But what about the days coming
ahead? The days coming ahead, Bro. Branham
said, “The Spirit that’s in our midst becomes incarnate in a body. He comes incarnate to us; we crown him King
of kings and Lord of lords.” It could be at that time... I believe, no
doubt, it all comes together. Now, there
is essentially a bit of a mystery here but I don’t let that bother me because I
don’t have all the answers to all the questions. Bro. Branham had the answers. And he said he knew what he’s talking about,
but he said, “Maybe...I doubt if you do because it’s too hard to explain.”
But to see what I’m looking at here in the Lamb is simply Isaiah, chapter 53, with Psalm 40. Go to the Book of Hebrews, the whole thing will be laid out for you. And that is, that there has to be somebody who is going to be able to get between the people and God. And under the Aaronic priesthood from the very time of the Garden of Eden there had been nobody able to get between man and God and work a complete reconciliation. Nobody could. And so what you’re looking at is the High Priest, Melchisedec, which is God Himself serving mankind and being His own representative. That’s what you’re looking at. And that took Its form in the Lord Jesus Christ and the shedding of the Blood-- the Lamb... as in Isaiah 53. He had to be the Lamb in order to be of the Order of Melchisedec. No priest could offer himself and make it pay before God. There’s only One who could do it and that was the One who came down, laid aside his glory... because he said, “Glorify Thy...” Let me read that to you, in John 17. (Sometimes I wonder if I quote it correctly because it’s such a tremendous one.) He said, in verse 5.
(5) And
now, Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had
with thee before the world was.
Now,
if you don’t see a Father and a son there... if you just think you see the
Father is the son, you’re seeing something different from what I’m seeing. I would find God talking to Himself and
everything else--which He could do--but that’s not what you’re looking at
here. You’re going back to the concept
which we do not believe in... in Oneness, as Jesus-Only. We do not believe in Trinity; we stand right
between. And that doesn’t mean we
believe in two Gods. That means we
believe in one God and the son. There it
is right there. “Well,” you say, “I’ve
got to understand that.” Well, if you’ve got to understand that, you talk to
God; don’t talk to me. I do my best to
bring out everything Bro. Branham said, and I leave it right there with what he
said it. And I don’t try to change
it. That’s exactly what you and I have
to do here.
Now,
let’s go back to the Book of Galatians.
And you can see this a little more.
You’re talking about the Lamb.
Where was he back there? Where is he now? Now, in the Book of Galatians,
chapter 3, verse 19 (I won’t read everything connected with it.)...
(19) Wherefore
then serveth the law? (Wherefore then ‘comes’ the law? What’s it come for?) It
was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the
promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.
(20) Now
a mediator is not... of one, but God is one.
Now,
it tells you right there, when you have a mediator you have three people
involved: two that are engaged in an argument or a fuss and a fight, and the
third one comes in to settle it. Now, it
tells you right here, God became His own mediator-- Melchisedec! (See?) God,
His own mediator…serving. That’s why
this is very, very important to understand Who is here now, Who is getting a
Bride ready, Who came down. Now we
under... we use the word, terminology, ‘Jesus’, like Bro. Branham did but he
preached this sermon after the ring of angels so that we might know the
fullness of what has transpired. (See?)
Now, Jesus can’t come down as a man. And
remember, God could not come down without the shed Blood. Bro. Branham brings that out-- the Logos...
God condescending, but not without Blood.
(See?) Now, again you’re looking
at the same picture back there in Genesis.
You’re looking at the fact of the condescending God due to the
Blood. He can do it and the Blood stands
there. But you turn down what he brings,
where does the Blood go? You see what I’m trying to show you? From God’s side. Well, look-it... come on, Romans, the 5th
chapter.
(1) Therefore
be... (having been, not being justified.
But it’s therefore having been) justified by faith, we have peace with
God through our Lord Jesus Christ: ( Now, how did that happen? It tells you in
verse 6)
(6) For
when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
(7) For
scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet peradventure for a good man some
would even dare to die.
(8) But
God (commended) his love toward us, (and) while we were yet sinners, Christ
died for us.
(9) Much
more then, (now) being... justified by his blood (just as though we never
sinned), we shall be saved from wrath through him.
(10) For
if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son,
much more being reconciled... saved by his life.
See
what you’re looking at, there? You’re
looking at the absolute fact of what the Blood has accomplished. And God is no longer angry. (See?)
It’s also the same thing where it tells you in the Book of Hebrews, that
“He saves from the utter most to the uttermost all that come unto God by
him.” There is no limit. That’s from God’s side. (See?) But you turn down what He said in His Word,
it’s over! Now, nobody but us believes
that. That’s how the
He’s
the Intercessor, but first of all the great Mediator. That’s the thing that counts right
there. There’s Melchisedec. (See?)
Melchisedec from
Brother/Sister,
we have a Word that nobody else has. Oh,
I know...?... the world out there, they’ll say, “Well, you see, we got this
same thing. You up there harping on your
little vine, and your little porch out there as though you got it all.” Let me tell you something flat,
Brother/Sister, Satan can duplicate anything in this world. Don’t worry, we’ve known it for a long, long
time. But there’s a reality and we’ve
got it because ours is vindicated. They turned down what God said. They’ve turned down Hebrews twelve. And the Book of Hebrews is the book on the
High Priest, Melchisedec. (See?) Moses
built a house and he was a nice servant.
But that wasn’t the house that God built. There’s only one house that God’s building
now. And that’s a Bride right now, and
God’s doing the whole thing. Well, I
hope you see what I’m talking about.
That is the Lamb.
All
right. One little more question here,
and that’s going to be just fine. (We
can go to the Table of the Lord and the Foot-washing.)
[Question # 4]
Can you elaborate on the
soul of Jesus coming back on the people?
Well,
this is what I said all a long, long time ago.
Where did your soul come from? From God... it’s a part of God. What’s the soul of Jesus? The great part of God, where God poured into
him--what they call the ‘kenosis’ of Philippians, the second chapter--that God
poured into Christ, so he became the fullness of the Godhead, bodily... all the
attributes. (See?) All right.
When Jesus died, he said, “Thou wilt not leave my soul in hell”. Certainly not. That’s the God part because it is God. Even a little molecule… like they often said,
years ago, they said, you go down to the ocean; you take a thimbleful of water,
it’s just as much ocean water as the vast millions of acres and miles of
ocean. Just as much ocean water. It’s just a matter of quantity. That’s the way we are with Jesus Christ and
our Heavenly Father. Because, remember,
he is our brother. He said he’s not
ashamed to call them brethren. Why? Because they’re all of the same source, all
born of God.
So
all right. When he went back, that was
the Holy Ghost within him in a measure you
and I don’t have. So therefore he said,
“My Father’s going to come; I’m going to come; we’re all going to come at the
time of the Holy Ghost. And what is
that? That be naturally nothing but the soul... would be simply the soul of
Jesus Christ. I don’t like using the
terminology too much because people might get carried away to think they’re
going to do something with their souls.
No, you and I are perfectly stuck with ours. We can’t give it to anybody else or anything
else. It’s a matter of genetics God has
laid down in a natural election, the passing on of that Life-stream. God knows all about it.
The more that... Listen, I’m going to
tell you something, Brother/Sister, we’re talking about the soul now... I want
you to know something: This fight in the Supreme Court, you know, to overturn
...[Ward versus Roe]?…to overturn abortion... This is more serious than you
think because even the world knows--the theologians of the world, and the
‘Right to Live’ group-- they know that they’re dealing with souls. That lets us know one thing: that Bro.
Branham talked about a natural birth-control that’s absolutely the pattern that
should be followed. Now it sounds like a
pretty rough thing up here in the pulpit, young people and all. I’m going to tell you something: it’s still
the Word of God. And the prophet, a
hundred percent right. And the world is
showing us the seriousness of what’s going on today. That’s why Bro. Branham could say, “The
body doesn’t have life. It’s kicking
muscles and nerves until that spirit of life comes in for the body.” And tell that Mormon fellow, he said, “You will see that baby.” Why?
Because you’re dealing with the soul.
Even Job said, “Oh, that I had been a premature birth!” He just wanted to escape what he was going
through. He didn’t say, “Oh, that I had
never had anything or was never anything.”
He didn’t say that. So when we
look at these things here, elaborating on the soul of Jesus and understanding
what our souls are. And like Bro.
Branham said, when he said concerning a man asking a woman to marry him, he
said, “She’s a sacred vessel for
childbearing.” You know what he’s
talking about. He’s talking about sex
going on in this world--an illicit union outside of wedlock, and all those
things absolutely illegal before God.
We
have allowed ourselves to be entrapped, ensnared by these things and the church
has to come clean. I never realized that
till looking at television the other day (was a station where they have... I
think the man is a Christian that runs it in
But
I tell you what, you better understand a few things, Brother/Sister. This is rotten. Aids... Listen! …?… I preached years and
years ago, their pus would drop on the ground.
And I knew the ground couldn’t purify it because out there in
We’re
in a dangerous age. I don’t know... this
is kind of disjointed on this question here.
But you know I answered your question.
I also brought out these other things as they came to my mind. But, you know, if this isn’t it, I’m going to
tell you something, Brother/Sister, it’s it anyway. Because this is worse than the Bubonic
Plague. This is worse than anything the
world’s ever seen. It’s worse than the
Atomic bomb even. Actually, I think Aids
and the Atomic bomb go together, because somebody ought to pull the trigger to
just take a chance and see if anybody’s still tough enough... hasn’t got that much Aids in him. The HIV--one, two, three, four--they got the
whole bunch of them. They’ll have five
and six of ‘em pretty soon. No serum
works on all of them.
Look what they’ve exposed in the
colleges. It’s about... not quite as bad
as the prisons, and what’s in the High School.
You kids that are going to High School--some of you sitting here, you’ll
be going there--I know I talk tough up here and your parents got to do a lot of
talking afterward to cover my tracks because I say some things maybe your
ears... you think shouldn’t be hearing.
I’m going to tell you one thing: you watch yourselves because the
percentage is rising. You can’t kiss and
fool around like when I was a kid. Yes,
there were young men and women could kiss and fool around. They didn’t touch each other sexually. They couldn’t go that far. But you’re hardly out of the cradles before
you’re messing around and you’ll die, rotting in your bodies. Don’t think I’m kidding you. You’ll do it; you watch and see. Won’t do any good to pray for you. There’ll be no medicine because if it’s a
plague nothing will touch it. Do you
know something? They haven’t even cured TB. they can’t. If it goes out of your lungs it’ll go some
place else in your body. And the Bible
said, “Sin not, lest the worse thing come upon you.”
We’ve
seen our last sign; we’ve seen what’s going on.
Don’t fool around. It doesn’t
matter. I could talk my head off. You’ll do it anyway. You’ll try to smoke your cigarettes and mess
with crack and everything else. But I
know one thing about it. Just the day
after tomorrow.--twenty-four hours and a few minutes--I’ll be standing right
there in the Presence of God with you.
What’re you going to do then? Go to your stupid school teacher that lied
to you? Your parents won’t do you any good.
My parents wouldn’t have done me any good anyway. I came to a place in God they never knew or
ever would know of. There’s a way
out. I’m going to tell you the way
out. The Blood stands there and the Lamb
stands there, but you better take the Word, and let this Word fortify you. It’s a stronger Word than I had. I would to God I could’ve heard someone
preach like I’m preaching to you when I was young. Even bypassing Bro. Branham--never mind what
he preached--just what I preached would’ve made so much different. My great failing was I couldn’t believe God,
I thought, financially. One day I had to
stand there... years standing there.
That’s why I say, “When you’ve stood where I stood”... it’s not been a
bad place to stand; you can always come back and tell the people what God’s
like, what life is like. But it’s
running out very, very rapidly.
Every
exercise in drinking Communion (taking Communion), every exercise in
Foot-washing—all of these things--they mean more than more and more and
more. I’m not just talking to you,
warning you; I love you and I know that you people know what I’m talking
about. I know you’re real. I know you’re sympathetic, empathetic. Beyond that, I believe you’re a part of It
because I can’t get in this pulpit …as I’ve said before, I could get up here...
I could get up here almost drunk (but I don’t drink, of course)... If I was on
drugs, your very presence and your attitude would clear my head and my mind and
my heart, that I’d have to deal with you as children of God. Try that in Pentecost! They haven’t got a message; they haven’t got
anything. I’ve been all through it. Turn on your TVs... you haven’t got ‘em, but
sometime go down to the store and just watch the so-called Christians on their
TVs. What have they got? Haven’t got answers. We’ve got the answers tonight, through Our
Lord Jesus Christ. We got the Word; we
got the Life.
Well,
that’s your questions. I’ve answered ‘em
and answered more than your questions, which is fine. So if you have anymore you just let ‘em come
in. I want you to pray that the Lord
will lead me what we’re going to maybe be looking at in a very little while to
take up a new series. I haven’t been any
rushed about it. But now I’m going to be
looking at it very seriously to see what God wants of us.
Communion Service
Now,
let’s just go again to Corinthians, the eleventh chapter of First
Corinthians. We’re going to have the
Table of the Lord in just a minute or two.
And tomorrow morning we have service at
And
there are different ones to remember in prayer--operations coming up,
operations gone by, this and that. We
don’t worry about them. We just know
that the Lord uses doctors and what-have-you to help people. And we’ll just believe right along with
that. I’ve had help by doctors. But I must admit the help I like best of all
is from the Lord. It doesn’t cost
anything and it’s sure a whole lot more effective; doesn’t hurt either. You don’t have to come through any anesthetic,
and such a joyous surprise to be healed.
Some of you sitting here tonight, you know what I’m talking about. All right, verse 23 [1Corinthians 11]
(23) For
I have received of the Lord that which... I delivered unto you...
You
know, Paul was a faithful person.
Everything he got from God he just spilled his guts; he just brought it
right out. [Of] course he couldn’t do
certain things God wouldn’t let him do.
He was a good servant that way too.
He said, “Well, I’d tell you about Melchisedec but (he said) that’s for
the end-time. So I can’t tell you about
Him.” He said, “I know about Him, but
(he said) I could tell you things (he said) you would never really believe.” In the light of what you believe today about
that picture, there --the angels coming down, Bro. Branham with the Pillar of
Fire--what you believe now… without, really, something concrete in the way
you’ve been going for years, could you have accepted that? No way... no way;
you couldn’t [have] done it. Now, had
Paul told them things way back there, they couldn’t have taken it either. He said, “You’re not ready for it.” Now, the Ephesian Church... the Ephesian Age
was the perfect age, and the closest Paul could get to the Ephesians was... was
tell them ‘the Spirit of the wisdom and revelation and the knowledge of him’
would come and supersede the Baptism with the Holy Ghost, which was
temporary. Now, you just tell somebody
outside of this Message that Baptism of the Holy Ghost is temporary... Ppffft!
Brother/Sister. And it is! Read your
Bibles. They’re completely bogged
down. Paul told the people every single
thing that God told him for them.
Now,
then, do you believe the tapes have everything in them to put you in the
Rapture or do you need Billy Paul and Joseph and Lee Vayle and a bunch of other
people? You don’t need any of us. You don’t need any ‘buddies’... Bro.
Branham’s bosom buddies... or cohorts or pals. “...?... Bro. Branham told me so
and so.” Now, I can tell you things he
told me but you didn’t need them... you didn’t need them. If you’re a real born-again person, you won’t
be all messed up in your thinking, running here and there with a bunch of loose
ends. You’ll have all your marbles. The Bible says, “He’s not given a spirit of
fear but of love... power, and a sane mind.” No... you’re not a bunch of Yahoos
out there. Paul gave them exactly what
God told him. So did William
Branham. It’s on tapes. Bro. Branham talked about the washer woman
who didn’t even have a pastor; just had three tapes and she made it. So, let’s put it where it belongs.
[1Corinthians 11]
(23) ...I
delivered (what the Lord gave me)…That the Lord Jesus the same night in which
he was betrayed took bread:
(24) And
when he had given thanks, he (broke) it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body,
which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. (Now, that’s simple as A-B-C; it’ll do that).
(25) After
the same manner …he took the cup, when he …supped, saying, This cup is the new
testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
Now,
there’s a good question right in there.
What is the Blood testament come to?
Now, the Blood testament is thoroughly misunderstood. It’s a propitiation to get you to God, so
that now God could teach you and lead you.
What if there’s a bunch of people running around that can’t be taught?
Do you think the Blood’s going to do ‘em any good? Ahh, Come on!
It’s null and void, Brother/Sister.
Hey, just hold your finger there and go on back to the Book of
Hebrews. (See if I can find it. I’m not too good at the Bible... finding
things.) But, look-it over here, in the
10th chapter, talking about the sacrifice... verse 12 [Hebrews]
(12) ...this
man, after (he’d) offered one sacrifice for sins (which was himself)... sat down
on the right hand of God
(13) From
henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. (That’s going on now... See? He’s waiting for it.)
(14) For
by one offering (hath he) perfected for ever them that are sanctified. (Bro. Branham spoke of the perfection of the
Blood)
(15) Where
of the Holy Ghost also is... witness to us:
I
just call that simply the Baptism with the Holy Ghost. Shows you’re under the Blood. And if you’re not full of the Holy Ghost
you’re not under the Blood. It’s waiting
there for you, but you haven’t divided the Word. You haven’t come to where you are a part of
It. Now, the thing is, if you’ve got the
Holy Ghost you will believe the Word for the day.
So
let’s get back to 1 Corinthians, 11th chapter.
(25) (He
said the)... testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as (you) drink it, in
remembrance of me.
(26) For
as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye... shew the Lord’s death
till he come.
A
thought’s just struck my mind. I want to
go back to Hebrews again, 10th chapter,
verse 16.
(16) (And)
This is the covenant that I will make with them (in) those days, saith the
Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write
them;
What’s
the Holy Ghost for, then? Bro. Branham said
(That you take)... “the greatest
battle is when you bring your mind in
subjection to the Word of Almighty God and plug up every channel to the inlets
of the soul with the Word of Almighty God till nothing else gets in there, then
watch the reverse flow; It begin to come out.”
Now what’s going to happen to us if we’re in this Divine flow,
Brother/Sister? 2 Cor
(17) ...their
sins and iniquities (I will) remember no more.
(18) Now
where remission of these is, there is no more (remembrance of sin. There’s no more) offering...
All right, the Covenant... verse 26. [
1Corinthians 11]
(26) ...as
often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death
till he come.
Now,
many people have perverted that. They say,
“We believe in the Presence. We know
he’s here; we’re not going to take Communion.” That is a lie! That’s not the
Coming he’s talking of. The Coming he’s
talking about is the Coming that puts us in the Millennium and there we drink
it and eat it. So that’s not this
one. This is God serving us again... as
He did way back to Abraham, as He did back in the Garden. If He did it back there in the Garden--and
they weren’t even kicked out of it and were in the Presence of the Tree of Life
which spelled immortality-- then it’s the same thing again today… God serving
His people, and this time bringing them to the Tree of Life and Immortality.
Listen,
we’re breaking right in to the Eternal things, Brother/Sister-- even
immortality in our bodies. It’s got to
be true! My goodness, these days we feel
so good without feeling good that we know we just about got there. Now, I hope you understood what I said,
because I meant what I said. Not
speaking in riddles. It’s just the
Truth. You know somebody is going to
have it. You know it’s here. There’s a... there’s an unprecedented
witness. And it’s not the witness of
these shenanigans going on; it’s the witness of the real Real though, which is
coming with the Word.
All right. [ 1Corinthians 11]
(26) ...as
oft as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye... shew the Lord’s death till
he come.
In
other words, what you’re looking at?
You’re looking at the fact of the sacrifice, the Lamb. That was the question: What about the Lamb? You
never ever forget the Lamb; you never cease to exalt him. And it says...
(27) Wherefore...
(now, he’s drawing a conclusion.
Wherefore, he said, because of these things being true) whosoever... eat
this bread and drink this cup of the Lord unworthily (See?... in an unworthy
manner. In other words, they are
facetious and ... well, look, even dress and things have... could go right
along with this. Anything right along
there…See? Like, they were eating and
drinking and being foolish), shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
(28) (Now
it said)... let a man examine himself, … eat... that bread, … drink... that
cup.
(29) For
he that (drinketh and eateth) unworthily, (eats) and (drinks judgment,
condemnation, problems, See?… a judgment) to himself, not discerning the Lord’s
body. (See? Not really seeing what this is all
about. And you know that’s true...
that’s very true.)
You know… the definite in-depth reality
of the original Passover (because this is Passover) had an urgency and an
eeriness, something terribly, terribly peculiar and strange... a great
excitement amongst the people. And yet
they knew they were moving out because of a vindicated Message. And this application of a shed life was the
last sign ever given., and they moved out.
You got the same thing in Hebrews 6.
And I think, myself, that we are not excited enough. Now, I’m not talking now of this emotional
high wire and high tension excitement.
I’m thinking in terms of
Now,
look. Taking this Communion tonight
represents to each of us here that believe this Word, we are either going to
get out of here or we’re going to die with the plague of God. Everyone must be a first-born under the
Blood. Remember, it’s the first-born
alone that died. The others didn’t. The first-born alone can escape--the Bride
alone can escape. Because the
first-born... look-it, here. Come on…
the first-born is right over here in 1 Corinthians, the 15 chapter… (“But
now…”) in verse 20.
(20) But
now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the first fruits of them that
slept.
(21) For
since by man came death, by man came... the resurrection of the dead.
(22) For
as in Adam all die, even so in Christ… all… made alive.
(23) But
every man in his… order: Christ the first fruits; afterwards they that are
Christ’s at his (presence).
How
do you view the Blood tonight? Though
“they crucified themselves the son of God afresh”... the Bride is not going to
die with the world. This service...
others may do the same thing and claim the same thing, but I’m going to tell
you something: The Egyptians didn’t have
what
(25) See
that (you) refuse not him that speaketh.
For if they escaped not who refused him that on earth, much more shall
(we not) escape if we turn... from him that (speaks… not speaketh from heaven,
but the one from Heaven that speaks.
He’s not speaking from Heaven.
It’s the One from Heaven speaking.)
(26) Whose
voice then shook the earth: but now he …promised, saying, Yet once more I shake
not the earth only, but also heaven.
(27) ...this
word, Yet once more, (signifies) the removing of those things that are shaken,
as (those things) that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken …
remain.
(28) Wherefore,
we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may
serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:
(29) For
our God is a consuming fire.
In
other words, everything tumbling down… everything, as it were, in dismay and
disorder. But the blood with the Word of
Moses took them through. Let’s rise at
this time, shall we, and pray.
Heavenly
Father, we thank You that we have progressed, Lord, to this hour of lateness as
a sanctified people, sanctified by the Blood, by the in-filling of the Holy
Ghost, by the washing of water by the Word, Lord. We believe that we have a complete
Sanctification in three there, at this particular time. And, Father, in spite of ourselves we have
entered into the obedience of faith and a knowledge which has not been
previously granted. And, Lord, though we
as human beings can be perplexed like Israel (because they surely were), we see
the handwriting on the wall, Lord, that You’re going to take a Bride out of
here, just like You took them out of Egypt.
And this time, Lord, we know that our God, the Consuming Fire (2Thessalonians 1), having come on down. That we believe that You’ve set a seal upon
us, Lord, that no man’s going to touch us.
We’re going to get there to the other side in a glorified form.
Help
Your people, Lord, to be full of faith tonight by the revelation of Almighty
God. And, Lord, let the joy of the Lord fill our hearts and
our minds, the strength of God be our portion.
And if we’re amazed, let it be with the amazement of the wonderment of
You, Lord, and the things that You have done, so that we can stand secure in
the knowledge of the vindication of this Message. And for, Lord, we know there’s no place else
to go. Nobody could ever approximate
what was done.
So
bless us tonight, Heavenly Father, as we partake of these emblems which we have
now had set aside for us to commemorate, honor Your great and holy Name. And, Father, we know that those who ate the
lamb, they had strength for the journey.
And Elijah who was fed the secret Word went forty days and forty nights
in the strength thereof and came back with fire in his eye and the judgments of
Almighty God. Lord, we know that one day
soon the dead will come out of the ground, so to speak... resurrection. We’ll be all a great part of it and we thank
You for it.
So,
Lord, may we honor You tonight in the simplicity and sincerity and the
strength, O God, that comes out of this Word.
Heavenly Father, we’re pleading because we know that the prophet knew
that we weren’t sincere in here.
Twenty-five years later, are we sincere even now? He said, You’re green. Are we green yet, Lord, at this time? Help
us, Heavenly Father. We know it is not
going to be by works; it’s going to be by revealed Faith, Lord. This strength is going to be there as we
stand with this Word... ‘Thus saith the
Lord.’ We know we’re not going to fail, Lord. We know You’re not going to fail. We know it’s going to come to pass. But, Lord, if it’s not remiss, might we ask
to have a greater spirit of consecration and jubilation in our midst, Lord,
concerning this great Faith which has been given us. As we...
at least tonight, Father, let there be a fresh start as we partake. In the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
[Bro. Vayle gives directions for
proceeding with the Communion and Foot-washing.]
[Closing prayer...]
Kind
Heavenly Father, we want to thank You again for Your love, Lord, in bringing
Your people together whom we love in Truth and the Lord Jesus Christ, and are
convinced-- are satisfied-- Lord, that the ones here believe correctly, Father,
that we believe right, before You... rightly divide that Word, Lord, making the
cross of Christ efficacious in the things of our God. Lord, we know it’s not ourselves but it’s in
You and we attribute to You the honor and glory.
Now,
heal the sick amongst us we pray, Lord.
Give them strength, O God, a firm belief as never before that Thou art
the Lord that healeth us. And all things
are possible now that You’re here. We
thank You for it. We just claim a
blessing for each one in Divine Presence and the joy of the Lord in each heart,
Father God, and the true desire of each soul, Lord, that wants a greater
revelation of You, a greater understanding, above all a more consecrated and
beautiful walk. Father, we all long for
that; we pray it might be ours.
Now,
go with us as we go, in safety and security, Father, and bring us back to hear
Your Word, to know the Truth. In Jesus’
Name we pray. Amen. The Lord bless you.
