1Now, being this is mother's day it might be a good idea to reflect this morning on what the bible teaches concerning mothers and motherhood. What does the Bible say about Christian mothers?" Being a mother according to the Bible is a very important role in the family of God that many of you sisters will come into. A Christian mother is commanded to love her children as Paul said in Titus 2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behavior as becomes holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; 4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, 5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

2Now, Paul is telling the sisters that they had better watch their behavior before their children and in the presence of their husband lest they find themselves blaspheming the Word of God because of things they say and things they do against your husband.

3Now, you might say, How can I blaspheme the Word of God by not obeying my husband. Paul said your conduct could do it, your words could do it. So you had better not do it.

4But to answer your question perhaps we need to look at what the word blaspheme means. The Greek blasphemos, means "to injure, or do harm with words", to defame, or rail upon. To speak evil to or of." And some of you women in here and listening to this over the internet are guilty of blaspheming the Word of God the way you speak about your husbands. There is no Scripture that allows you to do so, so why do you take it upon yourself to use words to hurt the man you swore an oath to love and obey.

5So if you do not wish to be guilty of Blaspheming the Holy Ghost and the Word of God you sisters had better learn to show respect and honor to your husbands. Now, you might say, "I will show him respect when he shows me respect". There is no place for an attitude like that in the family of God? Show me one Scripture for an attitude that speaks against your husband.

6Ah, you thought this being mothers day we were only going to tell you nice things, something to stroke you the right way. Well, that is not what God called me to do. he called me to try to help you get rapture ready. And I can't get you rapture ready by telling you what your itching ears wish to hear. I can get you rapture ready by telling you what you need to hear.

7Now, Let me tell you something, that very attitude that down grades your husband is what the Apostle Paul is speaking of here, and he said if an angel from heaven come and tell you different then let him be accursed. So let's stick with this Bible Sisters. Otherwise you will find yourself blaspheming the Word of God by blaspheming your husbands. The Word of God tells the wife to obey her husband in all things. It doesn't say in some things, or only the things you agree to. It you are to be subject to your husband in everything in the Lord. Therefore the only thing you do not have to subject yourself to is his leaving the Word and you following.

8So, you sisters don't have it so easy, but you have a responsibility to obey your husband in everything. How are you going to sow disobedience to your husband and expect obedience from your children? Tell me how you can sow disrespect to your husband and expect respect in return from your children?

9The Apostle Paul said in Ephesians 5:24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. Notice he did not say in some things, he said in everything. And the Apostle Peter also said that the women in the Old testament lived their lives in such a way that they are to be examples for you sisters to pattern yourselves after. But too many of you have patterned yourselves after what you've seen in the movies. That is the problem in this Message. Brother Branham said, it used to be a shame for a Christian to go to the movies, but now the devil brought them right into your homes. And that has become your example, instead of reading this Word for enjoyment, you fill your minds with I love Lucy and garbage out of hell like that.

10The Apostle Peter said in 1 Peter 3:1 "Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the behavior of their wives; 2 While they behold your chaste behavior coupled with fear. 3 Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; 4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. 5 For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:

11In other words, there adornment was in their meek and gentle spirit and in their visible show of obedience to their husbands. Now, let me tell you sisters a marvelous secret to a happy and fulfilling marriage.

12Women do not dress to please their husbands they dress to please other women. Men compete on the battle field and football field but women compete in the fashion field, but 99% of men, I mean real men could care less if you wear the latest fashion or an old gingham dress. It wouldn't matter to them. They want a woman who is soft, gentle, quiet, and yet strong in integrity, strong in support of them in their stand for this word, and strong in their own relationship with the Lord.

13Now, worldly guys like modern fashion, because they like to fulfill their lusts while looking at women. But a man of God looks not at the clothing you wear to cover your body, they look at your character. and you know what? So does God. And he's not coming to take a rebellious wife, he's coming for an obedient wife. And if you are not obedient to your husband how do you expect to be obedient to your Spiritual husband the Lord Jesus Christ.

14Now, when he said for you are to be in subjection to your own husbands, that word subjection was translated from the Greek Word Hupotasso, and we know that word means 1) to arrange under or subordinate yourself unto; in other words to subject one's self to, to obey; And it was used as a Greek military term meaning "to arrange roop divisions in a military fashion under the command of a leader". In non- military use, it was "a voluntary attitude of giving in, cooperating, assuming responsibility, and carrying a burden". "

15And we find that very same attitude in Christ Jesus to His Father. And when viewing His life we see this voluntary attitude in the attributes that Jesus, The Son of God showed towards His Father. In PHILIPPIANS 2:5 we read, "Let this attitude be in you which was also in Christ Jesus".

16Now, notice that Peter and Paul both warned the sisters not to show this attitude of Blasphemy which is "the act of insulting or showing contempt or lack of reverence for" their husbands. And we all know that in some countries and cultures blasphemy is punishable by death. So blasphemy is not a small thing, and the spirit of this age is filled with blasphemy against God and His Divine Order that he set forth in His Church. And I'm not talking about the way you arrange the chairs in a church, That has nothing to do with Divine order, what I'm talking about is the Divine order God has established, First in God, then in His Son, and then through His Word Prophets, then in a five fold ministry he placed in the church, and then in the husband and finally in the wife to her children.

17Paul spoke in Titus that the wife was to never blaspheme her husband for in doing so she Blasphemed the Word of God and that brings a reproach against on the Lord and Savior whose name she bears.

18Now, in the Book of James 3: 3 we read, "You put a bit in the horses mouth to make him obey. And this word for obey is not "hupotasso," so it does not mean the same thing.

19Therefore, the obedience of a wife to her husband is not like a dumb animal. There is n scripture for that. The Scripture speaks of the wife subjecting her will to her husband's will so there be no fuss in the marriage. She acknowledges there is one head in the family, not two. It is not just obedience Paul speaks of when he uses the word subjection, because the word submit speaks of an act of the your will, not an act of his will.

20Though you may even know better than he does concerning a certain issue, yet you have made a choice to give up your choice, just like the Bride of Christ gives over her will to her Grooms will, just as Jesus gave up his own will to the will of the Father, in order to receive His mindset, and so does a true Bride give over her will to meet his will and his headship.

21Ephesians 5:22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

22Now, you might ask yourself the question, what does that mean "as unto the Lord." Well the Apostle Paul tells us in Romans 14:8 For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.

23Or to make it easier to understand, the Apostle Paul said in Colossians 3:23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, (that means do it from all your heart) as to the Lord, and not unto men;

24So when you are asked to obey your husband, you are expected to do it as though you are subjecting yourself to the Lord Himself, and not to the man who asks you.

25That's what the Apostle Paul also meant when he said, Colossians 3:18 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.

26Now, the word "fit" means "that which is right". And you even use that expression when you talk about trying on clothes or shoes, you say is that a correct fit? In other words is that dress right for you? Are those shoes right for you?

27And so we are looking at a very difficult role, because as a Wife you are required to subject yourselves sometimes to a man you may think is somewhat of a dim wit, but let me assure you sisters that may think your husband is a dimwit. You married him, so that shows your judgment is worse than his. So submit to his judgment, and honor your vows to honor and obey the dimwit you married.

28Sorry guys, I don't call you a dimwit, but I know some sisters have called their husbands by that name, and as I said if that is what they think of you at least if you are dimly lit, what kind of light did they have when they said yes. Not dimmly lit, which is what a dimwit is, but not lit at all.

29So consider the fact sisters that you have been placed under a test, to see if your vow means anything to you, and if you claim to be a Christian it had better mean something to you, because all liars will go to the lake of fire.

30And Paul also said in 1 Corinthians 7:10 And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord commands you, "Let not the wife depart from her husband": Now, if the Lord commands it, then it is "Thus Saith the Lord". So you better do as God commands.

31So basically if you married a lemon make the best of it. Be his help mate and aid, Then you will have lemon aid.

32Pray for your lovely little dimwit that you chose to marry, and as you honor this dimwit you are honoring the Lord Himself.

33Now, remember, Paul said, "as unto the Lord" or "as it is fit in the Lord" So your submission is unto the Lord through your husband. That's your channel.

34Now, in scripture we see several things that are commanded of Christian mother: Number one she is not to be a sluggard or lazy. She must be diligent in serving the Lord as she serves her family.

35Deuteronomy 6:5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. (that means with all your energy and strength.) 6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be first of all in your own heart: 7 then you shall teach them diligently unto thy children, and you shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up. 8 And you shall bind them for a sign upon your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 9 And you shall write them upon the posts of your house, and on your gates.

36Now, that means you are not to be lazy as so many mothers are who claim to believe in Christ but do not show it in the way they live. It means if you are a real mother you will live it so before everyone that they will all call you blessed.

37Now, I have known very few women who have lived such a life that everyone calls her blessed. But I have known certain Christian sisters like Sister Meda Branham who was known for being a very Christian lady, and I know another who has passed away and that was LaVonne's mother. She was so loved by both saint and sinner alike because although both sinner and saint knew where she stood in her faith in the Lord Jesus yet she never condemned the sinner and she showed them the same love and respect she showed to those who loved the Gospel. And that attracted them to her as a Christian woman and grandmother. There were more people at her funeral than I saw at several well known Ministers that passed away who had literally thousands of followers but at her funeral she had more than those ministers.

Why? Because those ministers only had followers of them, while she had sinner and saint come to show their respects to her.

Another attribute of a real mother is her involvement in the life of her children, and the instructions that she gives to them.

38From Brother Branham's sermon, Great servant Moses 55-0122 P:6 Now, and Moses, the first forty years he was taught... Who do you think Moses' teacher was? His mother. He couldn't have had any better, 'cause she was hired as a tutor to raise her own child. I tell you, God certainly pulled one over on Satan there, didn't He? He sure did. And Moses, knowing now, from his mother, that he was raised up... Her a spiritual woman, little is said about her, but brother, I want to be in glory when she receives her crown (Yes, sir.) to see what takes place. How she taught that little fellow right in the midst of the enemy, right there in the furnace of the heat of it. And told him that he would be the one that would deliver God's children out of that place.

39Now, the role of a mother is a very important one, and we know that brother Branham taught that the mother is the first teacher to her children. She has the first influence on what that child is going to be when it is raised up. And the Bible tells us the way we raise them up is the way they will be. That's Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

40Therefore, we can see the importance of the role that mothers have in the fashioning the minds, intellect and the condition of their children's hearts. And this works in both directions. A mother can nurture up a child to become a great man who lives a godly life, or she can create a monster that affects society in a very devastating way.

41Expectation 55-1001 29 The first preacher that a child ever gets is a mother. There's four, five Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and mother. And a mother should be a Spirit filled woman, who can teach her children, and teach them to pray and to know about God, and so forth.

42From a sermon entitled Mother's Day 59-0510M 19 brother Branham said, But I might pass this on to the young people. Do you know Abraham Lincoln never owned a book in his life, until he was after twenty-one years old but the Bible and the Foxe "Book Of The Martyrs." See? what you read molds the character that you are. No wonder we got a bunch of neurotics today. Little old fiction magazines, and vulgar, and nonsense is placed upon our newsstands. He owned the Bible and the Foxe "Book Of The Martyrs." Look what it made him. But in the face of all that, one day he made a statement like this. He said, "If there could be any good thing found in me, it's because of a godly mother," that reared him to serve the Lord.

4320 You see, a child listens to its mother; some little touch about that mother, that a child will listen to. When it's hurt, it'll go to the mother for consolation before it'll go to the father. Because she was first with it, you know. And there's some gift that God gives a mother to be that way; I mean a real mother. Now, I believe that mothers are honorable and godly.

4422 I believe it was in the "Ten Commandments," the late Cecil DeMille, that wrote and put on the screen one of the masterpieces of the movie world. And before it was put on the scene, or let out, Cecil DeMille called Oral Roberts, and Demas Shakarian, and a bunch of the Full Gospel ministers, and took them into his own studios, and showed the four hours of the "Ten Commandments," and asked them their opinion of it. God rest his gallant soul. And when I seen it, was looking at it, and a little remark always stuck to me. If many of you who did see it, it was when the daughter of Pharaoh... After Moses had found out that he was a--a Hebrew, and he had decided to go dwell with his people, and there sat his once beautiful mother, faded out, with her gray hair and her wrinkled face, setting in old armchair, a typical mother... And the Pharaoh's daughter came in. And he said, "Whose son am I anyhow?" And when it was brought to light that Jochebed was his real mother, the daughter of Pharaoh, with her paint and so forth, and all fixed up, she said, "But look. He may be your son," but she said, "I give him wealth and splendor. You could've give him nothing but the slime pits." But the aged gray-headed mother said, "But I give him life." That makes the difference. "I gave him life." And God gave him Eternal Life. How true, mother...

45Some of the greatest Military leaders of all time were home schooled by their mothers.

General Stonewall Jackson, General Robert E. Lee, Douglas MacArthur , General George Patton, General Pershing, Admiral Perry, Alexander the Great, John Paul Jones Father of the American Navy

And brother Branham said in his sermon, Q and A COD 54-0103M 81-134 054 And the backbone of any nation is womanhood, when it comes to morals. And you break motherhood, you've broke your nation. We've got to a place today till our women smoking cigarettes, and things like that, and drinking whiskey, and carrying on, and it's--it's disgraceful. A young man to try to find a wife that's even a virgin, that's moral, he'd have to go around some good little old Holy Ghost church almost to find one; and that's exactly right, where a man just kept her in and things like that, and got a little decency about her. You might think that's crazy, but, brother, you look it over and find out, and see if that isn't the truth. It's a disgrace. All right.

46And some of the greatest Inventors of all time including: Alexander Graham Bell, Thomas Edison, Cyrus McCormick, Wright Brothers: Orville and Wilbur Wright

And did you know that your odds of being president of the United States are much higher if you were schooled at home by your mother than being schooled in any other school system in the United States. 14 Presidents or 31% of all US presidents were home schooled which means their mothers played a significant role in shaping their leadership skills:

47George Washington, John Adams, John Quincy Adams, Grover Cleveland, James Garfield, William Henry Harrison, Andrew Jackson, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, James Madison, John Tyler, Woodrow Wilson, Theodore Roosevelt , Franklin Delano Roosevelt,

48And what about preachers and other religious figures in history: Men like Moses, John the Baptist, Jesus Christ, William Cary, Jonathan Edwards, Phillip Melanchthon, Dwight L. Moody, John Newton, John Owen,Charles Wesley, John Wesley were all schooled at home by their mothers.

Proverbs 31:1 The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him. 2 What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows? 3 Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroys kings.4 It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink: 5 Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted. 6 Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts. 7 Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more. 8 Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction. 9 Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy. 10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. 11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. Now, listen, here is the key to hi trusting her. 12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. 13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands. 14 She is like the merchants' ships; she brings her food from afar. 15 She rises also while it is yet night, and gives meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens. (In other words, she's up early, prepares food for the families meals while they are yet asleep) 16 She considers a field, and buys it: with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard. 17 She girds her loins with strength, and strengthens her arms. 18 She perceives that her merchandise is good: her candle goes not out by night. 19 She layes her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff. 20 She stretches out her hand to the poor; yea, she reaches forth her hands to the needy. 21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet. 22 She makes herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple. 23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sits among the elders of the land. 24 She makes fine linen, and sells it; and delivers girdles unto the merchant. 25 Strength and honor are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. 26 She opens her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. 27 She looks well to the ways of her household, and eats not the bread of idleness. 28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her. 29 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. 30 Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that fears the LORD, she shall be praised. 31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

49Another role of a Mother is that she is the first teacher a child has and the first Bible instructor your child will have and that is Scriptural. Besides Moses whom we have already spoken of, we find Paul mention Deuteronomy 4:4 But you that did cleave unto the LORD your God are alive every one of you this day. 5 Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the LORD my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it. 6 Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people. 7 For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the LORD our God is in all things that we call upon him for? 8 And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day? 9 Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons' sons; 10 Specially the day that thou stoodest before the LORD thy God in Horeb, when the LORD said unto me, Gather me the people together, and I will make them hear my words, that they may learn to fear me all the days that they shall live upon the earth, and that they may teach their children.

50And the Apostle Paul told us in Ephesians 6:4 provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. So you are responsible to teach those little ones sisters.

51Training up your child means helping your child to develop all the skills that will e necessary in life to make them successful, and to help them discover their strengths and also admit their weaknesses so they can grow and mature and learn to trust in God.

52Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

53You have the role to teach your child discipline for without discipline they will never be able to disciple, for discipline is the root and strength of discipleship training. And what discipline are we talking about? The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, making straight paths for their feet, learning to discern between what is right and what is wrong. that's your responsibilities sisters, and teaching your child the importance of expressing love correctly, and having the proper balance never forgetting that love is corrective.

54Hebrews 12:5-11; And have you forgotten the exhortation which speaks unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: 6 For whom the Lord loveth he chastens, and scourges every son whom he receives. 7 If ye endure chastening, God will deal with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chastens not? 8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then you prove to be bastards, and not sons.

55And of course we see this also in Proverbs 13:24; He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.

56Proverbs 19:18 Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying.

57Proverbs 22:15 Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.

58Proverbs 23:13-14 Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die. 14 Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell.

59Proverbs 29:15-17 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame. When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increaseth: but the righteous shall see their fall. 17 Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul.

60The Bible never states that every woman has to be a mother. However, The Bible does state that those whom the Lord blesses to be mothers must take the responsibility seriously. For motherhood is a stewardship of the children God has given you.

Sister Haddie Wright was the kind of a mother that you women should all aspire to be like.
Brother Branham said in his sermon, Expression 62-0313 022 And her never-failing plea for her children... I don't believe I ever met her, or left her, without her asking a request for those children. That showed real motherhood, knowing that life is merely a preparation place for her children. She wanted to meet them in a land beyond here, where there would be no more hard times. She constantly would say to me (she called me "Brother Billy"), she'd say, "Brother Billy, pray for my children, none of them will be lost." If that isn't expressing real motherhood... A mother who's interested in her children, interested in her neighbors, her husband, her loved ones, it's God in the woman, expressing eternal things.

61Notice he said, she viewed life as only a preparation place for the next life. For the life to come. And when you view this life in that way you make your whole life here a preparation for that one. The goal of a Godly Mother is to prepare her children for the going home. And that is the main role of a mother, is to prepare her children.

62Therefore, we see through Scripture that the role of mother is to make a house a home. It does not matter what that place looks like, be it a tent or a cottage, or a palace. There are two main roles of a mother that the word of God speaks of and these are #1) to create an atmosphere or environment where the children can have rest and a place of refuge away from the stresses that this world places among them. And #2) to train up that child in the way it should go, that when it grows up it will not depart.

63Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

64We see how this is to be done in Deuteronomy 6:1 Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do [them] in the land whither ye go to possess it: 2 That thou mightest fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged. 3 Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey. 4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God [is] one LORD: 5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. 6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: 7 And thou shalt teach them diligently (incisively, that means to make them clear and unambiguous) unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way( derek, during your course of life), and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. 8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign (or token) upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. 9 And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

65The problem we have today is that the word needs to be first in your heart before it can enter the heart of your children. The Amplified version says, "And these words which I am commanding you this day, shall be first and foremost in your own minds and hearts, then you shall whet and sharpen them, so as to make them penetrate, and teach and impress them diligently upon the minds and hearts of your children, and you shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up. And you shall bind them as a sign upon your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. And you shall write them upon the door posts of your home and on your gates…

66Presuming 62-0610M In a fall of a nation, as soon as motherhood was broke and womanhood, that nation's backbone was broke. Talk about morals in our country, I got a piece out of the paper on the Associated Press, that when our boys went overseas, that four out of every six was divorced by their wife that stayed home before they were over there six months. And there was more illegitimate children born in the State of New York during the war in one year, than there was soldiers killed in the entire four years of war: presuming that's all right. 059 Women put on little sexy clothes, and walk out on the street. Say, "Yes, I'm a Christian." They're presuming that's the thing they should do. Now, please, sister. I'm your brother. If your mother was the right kind of a woman, she'd tell you the same, or your daddy, or your husband. And any man will let his wife get out on the street in them shorts and things like that, it shows how much man's in him. Let his wife set there and smoke a cigarette before him, and know that that thing... What's his children going to be? Don't worry about communism whipping us. We've done whipped ourselves. It's our own rotten morals. And where did it start from? Because the Gospel was let down at the pulpit, where it began: sissified preachers, with not enough real baptizing of the Holy Spirit in their soul to stand and tell the Word of God. Don't spank the child for juvenile delinquency; spank the parents. It's parent delinquency. They let them get by with it.

67You say, the parents are tired of fighting with their kids. That may be true, but if that parent has any backbone in them, they will fight the good fight of faith and apply the token correctly, and they will hold fast to that which is good.

68Exodus 20:12 Honor thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

88Influence 63-0112 14 Now, we find that Uzziah was called to be king at the age of about sixteen years old after his father's death. And his father was a great believer, and his mother also was a very fine woman. And this young king had been crowned at a young age, and quickly he taken the road that was right, because of the influence of a godly father and a godly mother. And I think that's a very fine example for we parent today, is to set an example before our children. Now, you'll live your best and your worst at home. And I think that our lives... Though the children might not just exactly act like they're noticing it, but they are noticing it. Don't you never think that they are not, because they're watching. Not only the children are watching, but the neighbors are watching. Not only the neighbors are watching, all that you are associated with watch you. The people at your church watch you. The people that you do business with in the markets, they're watching you, after your confession. And we should always try to reflect Christ in everything that we do.

8915 I know a little motto that I had hanging in my house many years ago. And I kept it until it just fell apart. It was something like this. "Go no place you would not be--want to be found if Jesus should come," and, "Be saying nothing that you would not want to be saying if Jesus should come." And it went on with many things saying what you... In otherwise, whatever you do or say, or whatever action that you're performing, do not do it if you would not want to be caught in that position when Jesus come. If we could only do that, I'm sure we'd be a great influence upon our associates. …to my opinion, the greatest president that we ever had in this nation was Abraham Lincoln. Now, not because he was a Republican, but because he was, a godly man. And he was raised, to serve God. And he said, "If there's anything that my life was influenced by, was a godly mother who taught me to pray and to know Jesus as my Savior." Oh, your family's what you are. You raise your child in a certain environment; it's got a ninety-eight per cent better chance to go right than it has to if you bring it up in the wrong way. "Bring up a child in the way that it should go, and when it's old it'll not depart from it." Be brought up right, teach your children to do right, to be honest, to be square and fair even when they're in school.
